ICal stopped syncing with iPhone

My iPhone has been blissfully syncing, as expected, until the last few days, when it no longer syncs with my iCal. New calendar items don't sync to the phone, and new items on my iPhone won't sync to iCal.
I have been running a third party application Busysync to sync with my Google calendar, and this has also stopped syncing from Google calendar to my main computer, but not from iCal to my Google calendar. I have been trying to get help with this from their forums, where a suggestion came up that recurring calendar items might be triggering problems within Google calendar and therefore Busysync, but even when I stop Busysync running, my iCal and iPhone still won't sync with each other.
I've attempted resetting my Sync history in iSync, but it makes no difference. This was a problem prior to updating to iTunes 9, and I was wondering if anyone else had been having problems with the last update of iTunes 8. Or is there another simple way of resetting things, as resetting the Sync history seems to do nothing...
Any suggestions?

I am having the same problem. My iPhone calendar was syncing to my iCloud and my Macbook Pro but then it stopped. Now I've added an iMac and can't get my phone to sync to either computer. It's not only annyoing but very bothersome when you add an appointment to your iPhone and it doesn't update to your iCalendar at home.

Outlook 2007 Calendar Appts have stopped syncing with iPhone 3GS and Vice Versa. Only noticed in last month or so. Help required please.
May have been after an iTunes update.
Have upgraded to latest version of iTunes and iOS but to no avail.
Contacts sync OK both ways, it's just Calendar Appointments that don't.
Any ideas and assistance greatly appreciated.

  • Cant get ical to sync with iphone after installing OSX

cant get ical to sync with iphone after installing OSX

I too was a mobileme user and have just migrated to iCloud on mackbook pro w/OS 10.7.4. Transition caused my sent mailboxes to rearrange themselves so that I have no comprehensive 'sent' mailbox as I did previously and the view on both incoming and outgoing mailboxes keeps rearranging itself no matter how many times I set preferences. One result is that search function no longer works.  Is anyone else having problems like this?  All was fine for a week after transition but after having an evening when my password was repeatedly rejected I had to log in and out of iCloud (as directed by tech support) and w/in an hour or so the mailbox problem began.

  • ICal stopped syncing with Google Calendar

My iCal recently stopped syncing with my Google Calendar.
Change: I decided to set up an application specific password (http://support.google.com/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=185833)
Action: Doing this made me enter the application specific password on my MacBook Air for my Gmail set up confirmation for email.
Result: When that happened everything was syncing fine; email & calendar.
The next morning when I tried to launch my calendar on my Air I received the error message that my Air could not access the Google Calendar. The password was incorrect.
Assumption: I needed to set aup an application specific password now for the iCal on my Air.
Action: I removed the calendar in iCal preferences and created an app specific password and tried to set up the calendar again using the app specific password from Google.
Result: Selected Account Type (Google) Email (google email) Password (app specific password)
Error Message: Server with Secure Communication Unavailable - Your calendar account isn't on a server that can recive your calendar information securely. If a server isn't secure, others may be able to view your calendar information. To continue searching for your account on servers that may not be secure, and then set up the account it's found, click continue.
Action: I went into my Google Calendar settings and made the calendar public.
Note: When I originally set up my calendar I didn't get this message or have to make my Google calendar public.
Question: Why am I getting this error message now?
Change: Account Settings: prompted me now to set this up as a CalDav account....?
    What the heck?

the same is happening to me.
All my cals have been syncing just fine. Upgraded my iphone os5. upgraded lion on laptop. And for some reason, now i'm opening ical today and trying to edit, i am suddenly getting URL errors. Also i cannot find a way in the new ical (with lion) to unsubscribe from things.
My iphone seems to be updating ok as it's syncing from the google cal server... but if i want to add or edit anything to my google cals in ical, it's not letting me do anything.
    Any ideas anyone ?

  • ICal stops syncing with Exchange 2010

I have a few users with Macbooks, syncing iCal with the company server Exchange 2010. All of them work fine apart from one... I can setup the Exchange account as normal, and all events are correctly synced. After a few days, iCal stops syncing and I got a message "Go offline, revert to server, try again". At this point, the only workaround is to delete the account, and recreate it with the same settings... Then iCal works fine for a few days and again.
This server is working fine with iPhones, Android, Outlook 2011 (Mac), Outlook 2010 (Windows)...
Anyone facing the same issue ? Any idea ?

I did a hard reset and that didn't fix my issue so i wouldn't suggest doing a hard reset.
    My environment:
    Exchange 2010 SP1
    Droid  with FRG22D
I haven't been able to pinpoint the issue but it has to do with the request and response with provisioning between the devices and exchange. Nothing has changed but updating the phone to the latest patch.
    I receive the following error:
    RequestBody :

  • Events not showing in iCal after sync with iPhone

A whole week of appointments don't show up in iCal after syncing with my iPhone - all the appointments are on my iPhone but they won't copy over.
Funnily enough, the week that is not showing up is changing every Monday...
    Anyone seen this before?

I found this solution in another discussion. It's from this website: http://iphonewriter.blogspot.co.nz/2008/05/how-to-fixing-ical-iphone-sync-issues .html)
"You'll know the syncing issue when you see it, because the new events you enter into the Calendar on your Apple iPhone will not appear in iCal. Said another way, you'll enter a new event into your iPhone, use iTunes to sync with your Mac (or MacBook in our case) and the new event on your iPhone will not show up in iCal. Keep trying, synch as you might, iCal and the Apple iPhone just won't get along.
Here's the down and dirty fix:
Open iCal and backup or export your entries. Make a note of the fie name and location, you're going to need them in a minute. Once your backup/export is completed, close the iCal application.
Open Finder and remove everything inside the "Username/Library/Calendars" folder. For instance, if your username is "Joe", then move everything inside the "Joe/Library/Calendars" folder.
Open the iSync application. It's located in the "/Applications/" folder. Once iSync is opened, go into the iSync Preferences (iSync -> Preferences) and push/click the "Reset Sync History" button. Then, close the iSync application.
Re-Open the iCal application and Restore your calendar. When prompted, use your notes from Step #1 to select the file your created earlier.
At this point all my appointments were showing up properly in iCal, and did not disappear after syncing again with the iPhone.

  • Outlook Calendar stopped syncing with iPhone Calendar

I deleted a recurrent event on my iPhone and this action appears to have confused the sync capability between my iPhone and MS Outlook Calendar.
Outlook still tries to find the recurrent event on start-up even though it is not shown in Outlook Calendar.
More concerning is that new events and changes in Outlook Calendar are no longer syncing with iPhone Calendar. The time to complete the Calendar sync activity is noticeably longer than any of the other sync actions, which suggests that there is a problem.
I have been through the restore routine in iTunes and also attempted to replace all the Outlook Calendar data on the iPhone using the Advanced facility on the iTunes Info tab.
I appreciate that this may be an Outlook issue but are there any other things that I can try to restore the sync capability between the 2 Calendars.
All other sync functions appear to work ok - I have created and deleted Contact data from both Outlook and iPhone and this works fine.
    Grateful for any help!

I'm not sure if this will work for you. It seems every time I research a problem, everyone has a different solution that doesn't work for everyone. (I just spent an hour and a half searching for a solution in various forums.) But this one just worked for me.
I went into iTunes, into the Devices page for my iPhone, then to the Info tab. I unchecked Sync Calendars with Outlook. A pop-up appeared saying, I believe (I didn't write it down) "Do you want to delete previously synced calendars on the iPhone" - or words to that effect. Since I hadn't entered anything directly into the iPhone calendar in a while, I clicked Okay. Then I clicked on Apply (lower right corner of iTunes). The iPhone synced, and all appointments disappeared from the iPhone calendar. I then rechecked Sync Calendars with Outlook, clicked Apply, and the iPhone synced once again - and all my Outlook calendar appointments appeared on the iPhone.
This was, I admit, after having deinstalled all Apple software from my PC and reinstalling it. That didn't work on its own (still couldn't sync calendars), but I don't know for sure whether it had something to do with the success of the de-sync / re-sync.
Good luck. These solutions always seem to be hit-and-miss.

  • ICal not syncing with iPhone???

When I sync my iPhone to my computer using iTunes, everything seems to sync except my iCal data.  Why?
I think I turned iCloud off on both my Mac and on the iPhone in case that was the issue but it didn't change anything.
I think it may have something to do with Mavericks which I just recently updated to from Mountain Lion because it was working perfect before.
    Mavericks 10.9.2
    iCal  7.0
    iTunes 11.1.5
    iPhone 5s  iOS 7.1

You must use icloud to sync ical with your iphone

  • Google calendar stopped syncing with iphone

We sync the iphone 4s with google calendar and yesterday the sync just stopped.  It still works fine with another iphone 4s, but this one just stopped syncing.  Any ideas from anyone out there?  Has anyone else experienced this problem?

After searching all day I found this in another response to setup your account you must create a new account as an Microsoft Exchange account.
Follow the instructions provided by Google to set up your gmail account as an Exchange account on the iPhone. You can then sync calendars and contacts as well as receive push e-mail.

It took a minute or two to synch and appears to be working now!!

  • ICal not syncing with iPhone and MobileMe,  tasks

I have iPhone, MobileMe, and iCal on my Mac.
I have no problems sending calendar events between iPhone and MobileMe, and Address Book in my computer.
I have a problem with iCal- it just doesn't sync with anything, even though MobileMe is set for it.
I called apple customer service, they told me I have this problem because I had MobileMe as a trial, but it still is a problem, after I purchased year subscription.
Also I don't know how do tasks, or to-do list work. There is a basic list on iCal- that one also does not sync.
    thanks

appreciate the responses... and jumping in here with possibly a similar problem
iCal issue - Where are they hiding?
Posting here as this is the closest I can find to my issue..
Two, maybe more, Birthday Events appear on my iPhone but not on/in iCal on my macbook.
Tried clearing the iphone and resyncing. Same condition.
Tried removing the cache from iCal and resyncing using the replace calendar option in iTunes. Still no good. Have checked the the full listing of all events on iCal.
Where can these two events be hiding ? Not a huge deal, but now really curious.
Any help will be appreciated, thanks.

  • ICal not syncing with iphone and 'unresponsive'

I am running the latest version of Leopard on my iMac.
I had to restore my iMac from a time machine backup recently, and since, my iCal will not sync with my iPhone (all the events are on my phone, not the desktop). The first time I tired, it said that my phone was synced with another account, so I selected to 'merge' information.
The information on my iPhone is fine and unchanged, but nothing shows up on my iCal. It's completely blank. When I try to quit iCal, it won't. I have to force quit it.

So I got on the phone with APP today and it turns out iCal was pretty messed up.
A bunch of the files for iCal were missing (com.apple.iCal.plist) and such.
    Simple solution in the end:
Completely delete iCal (delete the icon from your applications folder) and reinstall iCal using your latest operating system disk (in my case, the OS X 10.5 disk). All my calendars, etc, where happily there after I reinstalled iCal.

  • Entourage and iCal not syncing with iPhone

I have been having a problem lately. I get many calendar entries over email from my parents and I get them on my phone with only the name of it as the subject of the email and I can't approve it over my phone. One of my questions is am I able to approve or deny them over my phone and then sync it to my computer? Also my MobileMe free trial expired and I don't want to purchase a real trial. My calendar entries will not sync to my phone for some reason. I have iCal and Entourage synced but it won't go onto my phone. And when I plug my phone into my computer to sync, it only says my calendar can be synced with MoblieMe and won't give me an option to change it. (Extra info: I have a second generation iPhone)
Thank you so much and I hope people are able to help me.
    Cheers.

  • HT204053 My calender stopped sync with iphone when I upgraded ti iCloud?

I upgraded my MacBook Pro to OS lion, 10:7:3 and it stopped syncing calender with my iphone.

First check that all your settings are correct, that calendar syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the calendars you are using are in your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by clicking/tapping the calendar button in the top left corner of the application ), non iCloud calendars will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your calendars are in the iCloud account, you might try unchecking calendar syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling calendar syncing settings.
