ICal stuck "moving to server account", how to resolve this?

I just got an iPhone and finally am syncing with iCloud, but now my calendars are stuck "moving to server". I have tried many resolutions found on support threads but none are working. I have tried logging out of iCloud, restarting computer, force quitting iCal...when I try to log out of iCloud and Delete on my Mac, System Preferences fails and quits on me. I can't uncheck the Calendars and Reminders box because it's greyed out and spinning. i'm on OS 10.8.5

Same issue...and not happy about switching to Mac!

  • Calendars constantly "moving to server account"

    Every time i open Calendar (formerly iCal) on my MacBook Pro, it doesn't load fully.  There's a status/progress bar with "Moving calendars to server account..."  I can leave my computer on and awake for hours, and nothing changes.  No advance on a progress bar, nothing.
    I can't access calendars, I can't create new events or entries, I can't look at or edit existing ones, nothing.
    If I create an event on my iPhone, it will sync to Calendar via iCloud, but the "moving to server account" message will never go away, and I can't get to my calendars from my desktop.
    What do I do?  Help!

    I am experiencing the same exact problem, have tried Eric's suggestion and a number of other things, and still have the problem.
    Someone must have a solution, this is a real pain! Can't get into the calendar at all and has to be force quit.

    Firstly, I note that your profile states that you are using OS X 10.5.8, in order to use iCloud on your computer you need OS X 10.7.2 or better.
    Secondly, I have asked for your email address to be edited out. Post your address in an open thread is a sure way to be bombarded by unwanted email, remember it will be here long after you have resolved your problem, for automated detection software to find.
    If you want people to contact you, enable others to see your email address in your profile.
    Finally, are you sure that these additional addresses are aliases and not sub accounts on a family pack, aliases from MobileMe should transfer to an iCloud when you migrate.

    Guess we're stucked and live with it. I hate this policy of limiting accounts to use on a device but the good thing is I just logged in using my account and asked my daughter what are the apps and music she wanted to download on the device. After we load everything she needs, I just deleted my account in the device and disassociated it from my iCloud account. It's still works as intended but the only caveat is she cannot use the find my ipad application.

    I don't think there will be a solution to this. Exchange 2003 just isn't supported.

    Then you either need to:
    1) Sign up for Creative Cloud so you can build a Single Edition app. Be warned though: this approach will no longer be valid as of May 1st when we retire support for Single Edition in Creative Cloud, and Single Edition apps are only on iPad devices.

  • TS3899 My ipood touch works fine when at home and on my own wi-fi network but when abroad and using wi-fi I can only receive emails but my ipod touch won't send my messages.  I am not very techy but don't know how to resolve this problem.  Any advice?

    I am having problems sending emails when using my ipod touch with wi-fi abroad.  When at home my ipod touch receives and I can send emails through my home wi-fi system but when away and logged into other wi-fi networkcan only receive emails and not send them.  Internet access is fine when abroad.
    I am assuming that this is to do with the outgoing server but this is only a guess!
    I am not very techy so any ideas how to resolve this problem would be gratefully received.

    Seems like the other networks are blocking you from sending emails.
    Do yo have more that one email account on the iPod?
    Have you tried sending from another account?

    Please read this whole message before doing anything.
    This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
    Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
    Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
    Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
    The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
    Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
    After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

        Yes, that is a data type problem. In my service is taking the noofrows in "INT" format.
    This is my service,
    /newconnection?noOfRows={noofrows}
    when i created the MBO with this service it is taking the datatype of the "noofrows" in string format.
    how to change that datatype to INT type?

    Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
    Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
    Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
    The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
    Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.
