Ical subscription apple server

Hi,
At my company we are using Apple Server Snow Leopard. We have enabled the wiki and the calender.
I have subscribe to the calender (choosed iCloud when prompt) on my Macbook Pro OS X Lion and the events are showing up nicley in my Macbooks iCal
On My iOS Device:
As this is a iCloud calender subscription, when opening the calender on my iPhone 4 with iOS 5, I get the login prompt, I login correctly and all events are shown.
However, when I try to add a new event on the Server/WIKI, the iCal on my Macbook is updated properly but not on my iOS devices (iPhone and iPad 2, both runing iOS 5).
I have notices though, if I go to settings and change the setting from PUSH to manually download and than back to PUSH the calender sometimes updates it self.. but I want it to update all the time as with all the other nice functions.
I have no problem with any other iCloud functions but I'm trying to figure this one out since my company are using the WIKI and Calender on the Apple server and it would be very neat to have the calender shown up in our iPhones.

This has been a frustration for me as well. The answer is no you can't sync your Exchange calendar. However, there is a free (albeit clunky) way of viewing your Exchange calendar in iCal.
You need to install Funambol for Outlook (http://www.funambol.com/) on your office computer.
Then, set Funambol to send (send, not sync) your calendar data to ScheduleWorld (http://scheduleworld.com/).
Then, set up ScheduleWorld to one-way sync (again, one-way sync, not two-way) to Google Calendars (http://www.google.com/calendar/).
Then, go to your google calendar settings page, and copy the Private Calendar URL for your published calendar.
Finally, in iCal, add a subscription, and enter that URL.
Phew! this "solution" works for me, and it's free. The down side is that the computer running Funambol has to be powered up, logged in as you, and connected to the Internet in order for the calendar to be up to date.
Oh, and you have to create user accounts for both ScheduleWorld and Google Calendar.
Ironically, my iPhone 3G has direct Exchange communication, so I can not only view my office calendar, but also update it live. Without the Funambol->GCal->iCal route, I can't even view my office calendar on iCal.
There are other ways to achieve two-way sync between Exchange Calendars and iCal, but none of them are free, or easy as far as I can tell.

    drjil,
It is possible that the subscription is not valid or up-to-date.
If you are looking for U.S. Holidays, here are three alternative choices besides Apple - Downloads - iCal Calendars - US Holiday Calendar.
    1. Welcome to iCalShare
    2. iCal World - Holiday Calendars by Country
    3. US Federal Holidays, ICS format, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015.

  • ICal Subscription Works On One Computer But Not The Other

I subscribed to a web based iCal subscription. The subscription refreshes on my Mac Mini but not on my desktop, which is connected to my iPhone. The iPhone therefore doesn't get the subscription contents either. I've tried deleting and resubscribing but nothing works.

    Hey Valenz0711,
That definitely sounds frustrating. There are a few different reasons it may not be working on the iMac (iTunes is not up-to-date, Firewall Settings). The following article may provide more information on a resolution:

  • Where are my ical subscriptions?

My ical subscriptions are not showing up on icloud.com.  I do have the subscriptions location marked to icloud.
    Thanks,

In fact, it looks as though when you sync subscribed calendars, what is pushed through to the other devices is not the actual contents of the calendars, but the subscription details: the other device then subscribes to the calendar itself - which from your point of view comes to the same thing. This means that the calendar contents are not actually on the iCloud server; and there may be something about the online calendar which prevents it being able to subscribe.

  • Icloud not syncing with ical subscriptions

iCloud is not syncing with the ical subscriptions that I have showing on my desktop.  Any ideas?

    I've been having same issue.
Finally today followed iCloud Troubleshooting at http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3999?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US . Quitting iCal then shutting down computer completely was biggest help amazingly. Also had to Refresh Calendars under View menu in iCal. All working now between Macbook Air, iPhone, and iPad. Good luck to you!

  • Possible solution to iCal subscription issues.

Like many of you, I love using MobileMe with my iPhone but I miss my iCal subscriptions (Birthdays and US Holidays). I think I found a solution: I just downloaded iCalCopy (apple>downloads>system/disk utilities) and it worked like a charm! Simply select your subscribed calendar(s) and copy the info into an existing iCal calendar. It showed up on my phone in seconds. Great stuff!
Hope it works for all of you.

UPDATE: Okay, so as I mentioned that running kernel 3.10 with ipv6 (and powersaving) disabled it works, it isn't perfect, it loses connection every now and then, doesn't get any usable speeds and it randomly disconnects and requires a reauth, nothing major as it isn't exactly common (ugh, it's a major improvement over disconnects every two seconds)
This card is still awful though (on an unrelated note I still find it hilarious that the card works even worse in windows *rolls eyes* I blame microsoft)

  • ICal and Exchange Server 2003

    Hello from Barcelona,
I am a new mac user trying to sync iCal with Exchange Server 2003. I have followed all instructions regarding domain, user name, password and URL address but it does not work. The last answer received was "account info not found" & "“HTTP/1.1 440 Login Timeout”. Incredible but when using the program AddressX (downloaded from internet) with the above mentioned configuration...it works and can get my company's global book address.
Just to make sure I am following all "mac" rules. What I am using is:
    Domain/UserName
    Password
    https://company.com/exchange/User.Name
Am I missing any important thing? Please help!!
    Thanks in advanced!!

There are several discussions regarding this same topic on the Apple forums and elsewhere. None of them have solved the problem. This seems to be an issue that has been around for a long time but never addressed by Apple or Microsoft. From some simple tests that I have done, it appears the the Microsoft Exchange Server is not interpreting the iCal event (.ics extension) properly. I have seen discussions saying that Apple is not formatting the event properly or is using a newer standard that MS Exchange does not support. I believe it is the later as I can make the event work properly without any software changes but I have to do some steps manually. Here is how I can make it work and why I believe something is wrong in MS Exchange:
    - create event in iCal and add an Outlook user
    - send the event/email (ignore this email on the PC as it does not work)
    - open the just sent email and save the attached iCal event
    - find the saved iCal event and add a letter to the extension such as ".icss"
    - (Note: I don't know if there is a way to rename an attachment already in a message)
    - attach this renamed event to a new message and send it to the Outlook user
    - the Outlook user must open the message, save the attachment and rename it back to ".ics"
    - double clicking / opening this renamed file now works perfectly in Outlook
Now, if I could only automate some of these steps on the Mac before I send the message would be very helpful. This is not a great solution but I use it for events that I want to sync between my home Mac and my office PC.
Because the renamed attachment (.icss) works through Exchange (by ignoring it), I am lead to believe that MS Exchange will interpret an ".ics" extension and mess up the handling of it for some reason. Microsoft is never one to follow standards very carefully or adopt them very quickly. Our company is using Exchange 2003 so maybe that is part of the problem as it is an older version.

  • TS3276 Mail Connection Doctor says: "Could not connect to Apple Server's STMP. As Verizon is my ISP is this the right STMP? If yes, how do I connect to Apple Server

When using Mail Connection Doctor two error messages come up with regards to sending and receiving mail from my @mac.com account.
The first one says that my @mac.com account: "Could not connect to this MobileMe IMAP server." How do I fix this? Is this caused by the way I have set my preferences? Is this related to joing iCloud? Or my ISP Verizon the problem?
The second one says in reference to my Apple Server: "Could not connect to this STMP server. Check your network connection and that you entered the correct information in the Account perferences. Also verify that the server supports SSL. If it does not, deselect the "Use SSL checkbox in the Advanced tabe of Account preferences." This box was not checked.  Two days ago these problems did not exist.  Again, how do I figure out who to discusses these problems with?
    Feedback is most welcome.

  • After upgrading to Yosemite, my Exchange calendar no longer syncs to iCal (the Apple calendar). Help?

After upgrading to Yosemite, my Exchange calendar no longer syncs to iCal (the Apple calendar). Help?

That's not the point.    Before iCloud, Outlook synched with Apple Calendar and/or iCal.    With iCloud, Cal syncs with iPhone and other devices.     Outlook doesn't have to sync with iCloud (although that would certainly be nice).   It just has to continue to sync with Cal, which in turn syncs with devices via iCloud.
But for some inane reason, it doesn't.    If this is Apple's way of forcing people to not use Office and only use Calendar and Apple Mail, they are going to stop the gains they've made in business environments.   Businesses, especially large businesses, use Outlook.   End of story.
Furthermore, Apple's instructions for setting up or deleting iCal and iCloud accounts is complete gibberish.  And I'm a tech who has been working with computers for 32 years.   Apple used to be great at making things easy.  They now suck at it and are just as bad as Microsoft.

  • How can I migrate from Outlook 2011 to iCal and Apple Address Book in Mavericks now that synching is no longer possible?

Now that I am on Mavericks and no longer able to sync between my iPhone/iPad and Outlook 2011 on my MacBook Pro, I'm finally taking the leap (which I should have done long ago) and abandoning Outlook 2011 all together (doesn't help that Outlook now prompts me to rebuild by Identity multiple times per day). I am hoping to export from Outlook to iCal, Address Book, etc, but I would love it if someone could check my steps.
Delete iCal and Apple Address Book content -- Because I have old data in iCal and Address Book (that was synched before I upgraded to Mavericks), I planned to delete this data as follows:
Manually deleting my multiple calendars in the iCal app
Go to Go>Home>Library>Calendars and drag "Calendar Cache" to trash
Go to Go>Home>Library>Caches and drag "com.apple.iCal" and "com.apple.AddressBook" to the trash
Go to Go>Home>Library>Application Support and drag "Address Book" to the trash
Export Outlook 2011 Calendars to iCalIs there a file format that I can use to export from Outlook 2011 and then import into iCal? I will use this file format to individually export each of my calendars from Outlook 2011 and import them into iCal.
Export Outlook 2011 Contact List to Apple Address BookIs there a file format that I can use to export from Outlook 2011 and then import into Apple Address Book?
    Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi acs4055,
As per your query I found a relevant solution for resolving this,  actually I haven’t tried the steps you wrote here in your query.  But I found a solid key answer for exporting from Mac OS X Mavericks (10.9.1) Outlook 2011 to iCal for Apple mail. This is possible through Drag and Drop method via this you can undoubtedly migrate Outlook 2011 Calendar to ical format.
Hope it will assist you and you will be able to attain a desired solution.

I would presume so, but it might be worth your while to experiment and play around with different combinations to see if you can block FaceTime while keeping Game Center open.  Good luck!

  • BI 7.0 infospoke - how to change standard destination path on appl. server

    Hello,
    I have the following problem:
I need to extract large amounts of data from infocubes to flatfiles. I have created an infospoke to do this. However, in this infospoke, the destination path, when I choose application server, is fixed.
In BW 3.x, there is a document "BW 3.1 Open Hub Extraction Enhancement Using Literal Filename and Path.pdf" that describes how to change the destination path for the application server.
This solution does not work for BI 7.0, I get short dumps, probably due to ABAP OO.
I need to extract the data to flat files on the application server, not on my local machine, nor into a table in SAP itself, so I need to change the destination path, because the amount of free storage is limited in the standard destination path.
Has anyone encountered this problem in BI 7.0 and solved it?
    best regards
    Ting

Sorry, wrong subforum, will close this

    Hi Ting.
I never had a simmilar problem but, if you go to your InfoSpoke, right click --> "Change" you can see (and change... ) the following values:
Destination Type: FILE  (the one you have choosen)
Application Server: Check Box (I think this is your setting)
    Server name: (BW server)
Type of File Name: (Here you can choose Between "File Name" or "Logical File Name")
    Appl.Server File N: "MY_FILE.CSV" (for example)
Directory: (The directory you want - take a look at the end of this post )
    Separator: (The field separator)
Note : If you are working with Linux or Unix you have to look if the BW system user has the corresponding rigths to write in the FileSystem.
.          In the beginning I advice you to use something like this /usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGS<XX>/work
    Hope it helps.
    Regards.

  • I am unable to restore my iPad. iTunes keeps coming up with "unknown error (3004)" I have updated my Windows, tried searching for apple updates, but keep being told "cannot connect to apple server" HELP PLEASE

The whole problem started when I was syncing my iPad to update it. iTunes for some reason, put it into recovery mode. I have done all the hints and tips for the error code, checked my internet connection & tried to restore on another computer, but it required an update of iTunes and would not connect to Apple server either.

    Here is the work around:
When and if you get the same error it will prompt you to select one of three choices:
You have to select the LAST choice ---either Cancel (if you do this you will keep going around in circles), Restore to YOUR settings (which is really a trick question), or Restore to Factory (sorry I can't recall exact language)
Then in itunes select your ipad under "Devices" if it doesn't automatically...(YOU CAN SKIP TO #5)
There will be 3 Boxes in the "Summary" screen for you to choose from:
VERSION: DO NOT SELECT RESTORE, BACK.. I selected "Back up to this computer", OPTIONS: click on which ever box you desire (I did #1 & #2). Then I selected "CONFIGURE UNIVERSAL ACCESS" and hit "OK".
In the bottom right hand corner you will see two choices, select "SYNC" and your ipad & computer should start the syncing process which could last a LONG time depending on how much data you have backed up.
Sorry if this doesn't work for you but it's working so far for me! Good luck...and Apple please don't do this again! So very confusing!
