ICal support in EP 6?

Hi,
Does anyone know if EP 6 supports iCal in a sense that it can retrieve/put info to an iCal server, like it does with Exchange and Notes. If so, a link to info would be ver helpfull.
Many thanks
Eddy

Hi Eddy,
i would appreciate such a connection. As far as I know not supported yet.
Until now, such a connection was not tested. But depending on the connectivity lets take a closer look.
Do you have informations about the iCal interface against other systems ?
Merci and Best Regards,
Andreas

  • ICal support page generating bad search?

Anyone else notice that if you do a search from the iCal support web page and have the box checked to limit the search to iCal it actually limits it to Quicktime?

click the Search Tips link and you see FAQs instead LOL!
And to add insult to injury, it comes up in a non-resizeable window (at least in Firefox).

  • How many Calendars does iCal support?

How many Calendars does iCal support?

Unfortunately I have been made very aware of a limit.. and that limit appears to be 5 !! According to iCal (at least on ALL my Mac's) any more, then the Calendars do not appear.
However, I do sync my iCal with Google.. google shows ALL Calendars and each calendar in google is configured to be shown in what ever host app will show them. But only 5 out of the 6 will show. i.e. Im pretty sure the problem is with iCA and NOT Google.
Note: iCal on my Computer MBP is fine... its iCal on my iPhone Im referring to.

  • Does the wiki version of iCal support delegation?

With iCal Server set up on Snow Leopard Server, I've set up delegation for users wherein one user can modify another user's calendar though the iCal application.
But when I log into the delegate's account through the web based version, I don't see any calendar events except the delegate's own events.
Does the web-based view support delegates?

i can't seem to get it to work either AND I can't seem to find an answer here or any search that I do.  It seems that you can only view your calendar and not delegate calendars via the web view

  • Importing Holidays into iCal 4.0.3?

How do I import U.S. holidays into iCal 4.0.3? I can't seem to find this anywhere, not even in iCal support and this is very standard with calendaring software.

    MsMazoue,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Try Apple - Downloads - iCal Calendars - US Holiday Calendar.

  • Corrupted Event In ical being moved to iphone

I did a search for issues similar to mine and didn't see anything so here is the issue I have an iphone 3g and a macbook pro I deleted an event on my iphone a few months ago and then today when adding a new event on that day I noticed that the event came back so I went to check ical to see if the event was just copied back to the phone because of that well the event doesn't exist in ical and so I phoned apple regarding my iphone to see if they could help well this didn't and they directed me to ical support and the issue seems to be that the data for my home calendar is corrupted somewhere and keeping this event on my phone but not showing it in ical and apple says that because I didn't purchase the extended apple care they wont help me over the phone regarding this issue which is a little irritating to say the least

First check that all your settings are correct, that calendar syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the calendars you are using are in your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by clicking/tapping the calendar button in the top left corner of the application ), non iCloud calendars will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your calendars are in the iCloud account, you might try unchecking calendar syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling calendar syncing settings.

  • Event Categories in iCal

Does iCal support the concept of event categories? For example, I would like to be able to "color-code" events in the calendar (i.e., calls would be Red, meetings Blue, travel Green, etc.). The only option I see for doing something like this is to create a separate calendar for calls, one for meetings, one for travel, etc. It would be great to be able to do this within the same calendar.

    cvallent,
I answered a similar question in this post.
The only option I see for doing something like this is to create a separate calendar for calls, one for meetings, one for travel, etc.
AFAIK, your solution, and the one that I mentioned in that thread would be the ways to handle that in iCal.

  • Customize the email invitation iCal sends for meetings?

Objective: I am looking for a way to use iCal to send invitations that are business related so that they contain my company logo etc.
When an invitation to an event is sent from iCal the invitation contains Apple iCal logos etc.
Is there a way to customise this Apple iCal invitation format?
Or, can iCal support custom invitations if the invitation is sent from a non-Apple email address?
Do I have to use a different calander / email client to achieve my objective?
Thanks in advance for taking the time to advise me.

Did you ever figure this out or get an answer to this??

  • ICal SSL problem

I am getting this error message when I try to publish to my WebDav server over SSL (https):
"Unexpected secure name resolution error (code -9812). The server name mydomain.com may be incorrect."
I am trying to publish to an address like this:
    https://mydomain.com/myname/Sites/.calendars
I have read these and other threads that are already here:
    "Why doesn't iCal support https:?"
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=2498730
"error publishing to webdav enabled server via ssl"

I have both a Certificate Authority and domain name Certificate that I created with the Certificate Assistant and they both say that they are valid in the Keychain Access under X509Anchors.
I have set the Trust Settings on both certificates to "Always Allow".
When I open up Safari and browse to the URL It does not complain about a certificate, it just accepts it as valid. I am asked for my username and password which I type in and then I get a "Access forbidden! Error 403" page.
When I "Connect to Server..." in Finder it logs me in and I can drag and drop stuff to the server just fine.
Why is iCal still not letting me publish my calendar?
    Thanks

I just upgraded to Leopard and now my problem is gone. Thanks Apple!

  • ICal URL on .Mac

    I'm feeling stupid today. . .
I created a calendar group in Cal and sent the subscribe message to the people I wanted to subscribe to it. However, in doing so, I deleted the portion of the subscribe message that gives the calendar's URL on my .Mac account.
I went in to my iDisk and looked for the calendars, but they are not there.
However, subscribers have been able to subscribe and are getting changes and updates as they occur. I have diligently searched the iCal support areas without finding an answer . . .
Did I screw up somewhere and not publish it to .Mac, or am I just not looking in the correct place? I happen to have some Windows users in the group (too bad!) and they at least need to be able to view the calendars on the Web.

      Mac OS X (10.4.7)   iCal

From the iCal application, if you select the Calendar that you are using for your group, and then from the Calendar drop down menu, you select "Send Publish E-mail", when it generates the e-mail, does it give you the URL for that published calendar?

  • Putting iCal appointments/meetings on my Outlook calendar

My daugher (and soon my wife) use the Mac/iPhone combo. My office requires us to use outlook. I want to have a family calendar where they can send me "meeting notices" (swim meets, playdates, etc) and have them show up on my work/Blackberry calendar.
Is there a way to do this short of major surgery?

    Ken Abbott,
iCal published calendars use the iCalendar standard. Outlook 2007 and Vista's Windows Calendar are supposed to be able to subscribe to these, but I am not positive of the steps to do so. This article on Microsoft's website may be useful:
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/HA101673251033.aspx
You will need a place to publish the calendars to. Currently iCal supports publishing to .Mac or to a WebDav server.
Subscribed users are able to view only published calendars. Additional features have been announced for iCal in Leopard, and can be seen here:
    http://www.apple.com/macosx/leopard/features/ical.html
    Hope this helps,
    Nathan C.

  • Ical sharing problem

I have send my invite to share ical to a friend who uses yahoo, they received the invite and went to click on it, it took them to the iCloud website. When he logged on he was told that he was unable to have access to the calendar it was linked to. It gave an error message and it states "You are not allowed to access this calendar."

see if this link helps ical support http://www.apple.com/support/ical/

  • Ical won't let me write on a subscribed calendar

    Hi,
In my office we have 7 calendars hosted on a webdav server. When i subscribe to them using ical, i would like to be able to read and wirte information on them, but ical, does not let me write on them as it says they are read only...
The thing is i want my secretary to write on my calendar (as she is using sunbird on a pc) and i also want to write it from ical, but ical won't let me do it-.. :S
Any ideas on what can i do??
    Thank you very much guys!!

The present version of iCal supports only a read-only subscription service, which is openly published via .Mac or a private WebDAV server, and cannot be password protected. There is no workaround.
In a few weeks, Mac OS X 10.5 will ship with a completely rewritten version of iCal, one which complies with the CalDAV standard and which will integrate with iCal Server and Teams. You can get some idea of what's coming by looking here:

  • Ical invite via:sms or text?

Any way to send an invite as a text instead of email.  Kids these days don't use email.  I would like to remind my daughter of appointments or various tasks.  I can send her a text through email, i.e. " [email protected]", but I'm not sure if iCal supports it.

This issue has resulted in a loss of productivity here than you can't imagine. Every PDF we create out of File Maker to be emailed must be copied to a new email. Each person creates between 10 and 100 auto-generated emails with attached PDFs a day. I estimate that our team of 13 people lose about 3.25 hours of productivity collectively per day (assuming a low 30 seconds per email). It's been about a month and a half now since that update...maybe 2. That ends up over 130 hours of lost productivity due to a "bug". I'll be sure to send Steve an invoice for the thousands of dollars this "bug" has cost us, I'll send it with the black background tho. This shouldn't have to wait for an OS update release, wrap it up in a security fix or something.

  • ICal - Accept/Reject with comments

Hi - Does iCal support the accepting or rejecting of meeting invites with comments?

    Hi Lorenzo,
If workflow creates new instance, you can not pass workflow container to new workflow instance.
If comments are stored in application table, you can retrieve it from application table. It is a job for workflow template side.
    Your situation:
App comment -> Workfloe Container -> rejected and workflow instance is completed.
New event -> New workflow started -> New container does not have comments.
    Solution:
App comment -> Workfloe Container -> workflow step saves comment in app table.
New event -> New workflow started ->workflow step reads data from app table -> pass to workflow container.
    or
You can edit the workflow template for loop until approved. So new workflow instance won't be created and workflow container is available in the loop.
