ICal Sync from iPod fails

I have an iPod Touch 32 GB using OS 6.1.2
and I want to synch it with my desktop 3.06 GHz IntelCore 2 Duo OS 10.6.8.
When I make changes in the iCal v. 4.0.4 on the  desktop computer they will sync onto the iPod touch.
But changes I make in the Ipod are not applying to the iCal in the desktop when I run sync.
Can someone help me?
I do have the iPod set to synch using wifi.
In settings I have Sync Calendars checked
All calendars checked
do not synch older than 30 days checked
I do not use iCloud.
Thanks!
MarshHK

In OSX 10.4 sync your calendar is done from iTunes from anything I have read once you start using iTunes to sync your contacts and calendars you won't be able to use iSync to synchronize with your iPod.: Mac OS X 10.4: Use iTunes 4.8 or later for iPod syncing

  • Syncing from Ipod back to Itures

is they are a way to sync my ipod information, back to my itures, as I would like to see what music I am lissing, so I can delete the ones I do like, and add more over time
I know you can sync from Itures to Ipod back I would like to do it the other way.
I only want to do the Information, and not the music.

I inserted the ipod and set automatic syncing, expecting the full contents of the ipod to copy into the iTunes library
iTunes is a one way street, from iTunes to iPod only. The only music you can copy back from an iPod to a computer via iTunes is music purchased from the iTunes store.
There are however many 3rd party utilities that copy from the iPod to computer, one such being iPodDisk.
Similar programs are Expod, Yamipod, Senuti and Music Rescue.
Does this mean I cannot sync between two computers.
You cannot use the iPod and auto sync to more than one computer at a time. If you need to use the iPod on multiple computers you must use manual transfer and this article explains how.

  • HT1296 Sync from iPod to Mac

I have all my calendars' information on my iPod and got a new computer. When I sync the iPod with iTunes, all my information is wiped. Is there a way to transfer the calendars from the iPod to the Macbook and not all the way around?

Hi Rudegar, thanks for the answer but I'm not sure how to do that. I have all the files backed up, but I don't know if the calendars are or where to find the back up.

  • ICal Recovery from iPod to Laptop Possible?

I lost my iCal when my harddrive died -- though I have a recent version of my iCal postings on my iPod Classic. Is there a way to get that data back into my new iCal on my Powerbook G4?
I should note that I did have my laptop backed up on an external drive, however I have no idea how to retrieve my iCal data from that drive (so that might be an option if anyone knows where that data is kept).
    Thanks.
    Mike

I have not actually done this but I believe it is possible (at least on my last-generation iPod Nano) - First make sure that your iPod is enabled for disk use. Then double click on the icon of your iPod on the desktop. Then open the "calendars" folder and drag the icons of the calendars you want to restore to your desktop (ex "iSync-birthdays.ics). Double-click on that icon and iCal will open with a window that says "Add New Events" and click OK. Good luck!

  • Sync from IPOD Nano to Library

I use itunes on my laptop and my Desktop PC. I sometimes load a new album to my IPOD on my laptop and vice versa. When I connect my IPOD to my Desktop or laptop, Itunes wants to sync my IPOD with the library which does not contain the new album on my IPOD. Is ther a way to sync the IPOD to the library?
If not, then I think this is quite poor especially when you use mutilpe locations.

  • Sync from ipod touch to PC, after my PC is formatted!

I had earlier synced my ipod with the PC(Windows 7). Later due to system crash, I had to format all my data from my computer, and it was restored to factory settings.
However, the ipodTouch has all the data (songs, apps, etc). I installed iTunes again on my PC, but I didnt sync my PC with iTouch since this will delete all the data from iTouch.
Now I wish to sync my iTouch with my PC because there are few apps which I purchased and are on my PC. How can I sync my iTouch with PC without losing the data from ipod touch?
Thanks for your help in advance.

This previous discussion may help. However, you will likely loose on data you have in apps.

  • Itunes library disappeared, how to sync from ipod?

I have had my 30gb ipod video for a few months now with no problems. Last night I sync up my ipod and everything was fine. This morning I open itunes and my library is completely empty, and all of my playlists are gone.
I checked my music folder and everything was still there, including the library xml file. Unfortunately I did not back up the xml file, and while trying to remedy the situation itunes overwrote the file with an empty library, so now I have lost all of that data.
I started going through the process of re-importing my music and re-creating all of my playlists when I realized that all of the play count, ratings and other information is now completely lost.
Since my ipod has all of the most current information, is there some way to sync the information from the ipod to my computer?
    Thanks

  • Want to sync FROM ipod TO computer w/CD loaded music

This is a strange one. I have what I believe is a first or second generation ipod nano. The ipod and the computer were working wonderfully. We loaded lots of music via CD into the computer and synced w/ the ipod. Then I had to give the computer back to my mother-in-law, so before I gave it to her I wiped out the itunes library on the computer.
NOW, we have the computer back so we can load more music onto the ipod. I simply want to load the music from the ipod TO the itunes library on the computer -- but it won't let me. Is there any way to do this without having to wipe out all the music that is on the ipod and reload manually into the computer, then sync to the ipod??
PLEASE HELP!! The computer in question is a Dell laptop.
    Thanks.

For iTunes version 7 or later, then you can transfer purchased iTunes store music from the iPod to an authorized computer by using the "file/transfer purchases from iPod" menu. Note that the maximum of 5 authorized computers applies here.
Find out how to do that here.
How to copy iTunes purchases from an iPod or iPhone to a computer.
For all other non purchased content (your own CDs etc), check out the instructions/suggestions here.
Music from iPod to computer (using option 2). This a manual method using "hidden folders" and although it works, it is a little more involved than other methods.
Much easier ways are to use one of the many 3rd party programs that copy music from the iPod to the computer.
One of the most recommended is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
Other free programs are Pod Player, SharePod and Floola and iDump.
If you want to recover just the structure of playlists from the iPod (and not the actual song files themselves), there's iRepo for Windows. which I understand has this feature along with all the standard features for these programs.
iPodRip also has the feature enabling you to reconstruct playlists.
There is also CopyTrans. This does preserve ratings/playcounts etc if those are important to you but this program is not free. It also supports video transfer.

  • How to sync from iPod to another IPod Shuffle

Can I sync playlist from an older model iPod shuffle to a new 4th generation iPod shuffle without losing the playlist on the original iPod shuffle?

If the songs on the old shuffle are in your iTunes music library, you'll need to sync the same songs to the new shuffle from your iTunes library.  You can't sync from one iPod to another iPod.
If the songs on the old shuffle are not in your current iTunes library, you first need to off-load the song files from the old shuffle, add them to your iTunes library, then sync those songs to the new shuffle.
You can't transfer song files from iPod to computer using iTunes (except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store).  However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer.  If you do a Google search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links.

You need to move your music from your backup copy of your old computer to your new one.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computers files/docs/pics/music/etc for this very reason.
What's more, you can refer this article about how to transfer or copy music from iPod to computer, which included an easy guide to work out that.
