ICal syncs don't sync

I have myriad issues with syncing my iPad, iPhone, a subscribed calendar and two Macs; I get duplications galore, and I CANNOT get my iPhone and #1 Mac to sync, period. The "Replace information on this iPhone" option also fails to get me to a common calendar. I'm not a total nubie by any standard but i'm out of clues.
Is there a way to completely eliminate the data on my phone from within iOS?

BTW: I'm not willing to reenter all of the data onto a single device, even once. Methinks iCal/Lion fall far short of what I expect from Apple...

Firefox Sync don't sync after reinstall windows.

Afret reinstall I loged into Firefox sync and started to wait sync. Nothing happened. I tried once or twice restart firefox, and sync still didn't work. I decided to reinstall firefox with deleting profile folder. After that I loged into F sync and it downloaded history and etc., that I created a couple of minutes ago. I don't understand why it wont download my last profile info.

ICal events entered in iPhone don't sync with Mac

I am suddenly having problems with iCal entries made on my iPhone. They do not seem to sync with my Mac's calendar or on Mobile Me Calendar. I have tried syncing and still nothing. I initially had problems when I switched to the Beta version several months ago, got that fixed but now I'm suddenly finding events I entered on my iPhone not appearing on my Mac's calendar and I'm getting duplicates again, too. Very frustrating. I went to the duplicate calendar fix instructions at Apple but that didn't seem to fix my problem; I can live with duplicates. I can't live with missing events.
Any suggestions or references to a fix? Thanks/

IPhone 4S reminders don't sync with iCal

I have a new iPhone 4S and I can't get my reminders to sync from iCal to the iPhone and viceversa. In iCal, i have the right panel open that says "reminders" and they are not showing up in the reminders app on the iPhone. Also, reminders I create on the iPhone don't sync to iCal. I am not using iCloud, I just want to sync the two like I sync my address book, or events, etc. Anyone know what's up?

ICal and reminders on Macbook don't sync with iCloud

Just now when iCal crashed on my MacBook Pro I realise that it hasn't been syncing with iCloud (lost al lot of appointments).
Any change made on my iPad, iPhone and on icloud.com syncs perfectly; even back to my macbook!
The rest on my laptop (notes, iWork apps, mail, contacts) all seem to work and sync perfectly with iCloud.
However iCal and Reminders made on my laptop just don't sync to iCloud!
The other way around works nicely (reminders and calendar appointments from iPad, iPhone and iCloud.com appear promptly on the macbook).
I have tried everything i could find (restarting computer, resetting icloud prefferences, log out and in from icloud, starting new calendar, checking icloud account). Nothing works...
Any change made from my macbook just doesnt make it to other devices. From other devices back to my mac do work.
On my macbook all calendars I have are in iCloud.
iCloud is active (with same login as for other devices)
Would be great if someone could help me with this one!

I have something similar and i will try to explain with my rusty english.
I have an ID on iCloud but i can't sync the iCal events.
On my mac there is everythign (appointment, notes birthdays and so on). On my iCloud there is nothing.
I suppose was something related with the old ID (one just for ichat, not one of the ID that you pay to receive extra services or a @me.com account).
Now, as soon as the icloud features was installed on my Macbook Air I signed a new ID and initially everything worked fine. Emails on Mail and contacts were syncronized properly but with the new ID. i did not check iCal account.
So i tried also with the old one (the ichat ID) and all was sync. So i realized that maybe Apple recognized same account or name and merge all the ID in just one.
I was wrong.
The 2 ID's are not linked.
further checks add also this new weird stuff. in any case i cant sync ical accounts. i tried to switch from one to another ID. no way. i checked preferences in iCal on the mac. everything is fine. no way.
do uu have any idea?

IPhone events don't sync to iCal

Problem Summary:
Events created on my iPhone do not sync over to my iCal on my computer.
Tech Specs:
* iPhone 4S, running iOS 6.1.3
* MacBook Pro, running OS X 10.6.8
* Sync via cable directly onto mac (not wifi, not iCloud)
Potentially Useful Observations:
* Events created on iCal do sync back to iPhone; only iPhone --> iCal fails.
* Partially edited histories of events sometimes also sync as duplicates back to iPhone (ex: on iCal on my computer I create an event "event 4" to occur at 2 pm, then I edit it to be "event 5" at 4 pm instead, then I sync my phone. My phone will get both an "event 4" @ 2, and an "event 5" @ 4 appear in its mobile iCal app, while the iCal on my computer only retains the most recent version -- "event 5" @ 4).
* Roughly 1/3 to 1/2 the time I try to sync, I get the following error:
However, the phone is still connected, and I can continue to interact with it through iTunes after the failed sync. iCal event syncing fails regardless of whether or not this error occurs.
(Failed) Strategies I Have Tried to Fix / Diagnose the Problem:
* Restarting iTunes
* Restarting computer
* Creating a new "test calendar" in iCal (it experienced the same syncing problems)
* Trying both the "All Calendars" or "Selected Calendars" syncing options in the "Info" tab in the iTunes phone syncing menu
* Resetting sync history through iSync preferences
* Deleting the calendar cache file in ~/Library/Calendars.
* Various combinations of the above (although if there is a specific combo you think would work, please let me know in case I did not try it)
Any suggestions or pointers to other posts offering different suggestions beyond what I have already tried (I did some browsing before posting) would be greatly appreciated.

I just encountered a similar problem after updating from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion with my old iPod touch (iOS4). Phononic's suggestion to delete the cach file in ~/Library/Calendars is close. Try this:
- in iCal, make a backup (File>Export>Calendar Archive)
- close iCal.
- delete the ~/Library/Calendars directory (or rename it ~/Library/Calendars.bak)
- open up iCal. There should be no events.
- sync your device through iTunes. This should remove all entries on your device.
- in iCal, restore the backup (File>Import)
- sync your device through iTunes again. This should restore all entries.
Seems to work so far, but haven't tested it on all my devices yet.
In Mountian Lion, there is a trick to locate the \Library directory. In Finder, ,selct "GO", then press the <option> key. "Library" will appear in the dropdown. Calendars is in there.

B-Day set up in Address book shows up in iCal but won't sync to iPhone

And it would be my Mothers! I don't sync over air. Always sync through iTunes,, and I have marked "all iCalendars to sync".. I have 3 calendars plus a Birthday's one. I also have a "Birthdays Calendar". After I sync, all the Birthdays EXCEPT this particular one are there. My Birthdays are set up from my Address Book. I presume that is how most of my Birthdays got to appear in the Birthdays Calendar. I can't understand why this particular one doesn't show up. I have deleted the contact (my mother), and re-input, including birthday(obviously), but won't appear still after sync on my iPhone. I did try a separate entry into iCal, adding a Birthday event, and this time, that one showed up after Sync. Can anyone explain, why the separately added on into iCal showed up in my iPhone, and the birthday attached to my address contact in Address book didn't .. or is it a quirk (black hole event).

Let's see, uh, these are shows I downloaded 6 months ago, so I guess the answer is... no? Not so simple?
I looked a lot closer and apparently the shows I bought before are just gone. I went back to the store to repurchase only to be told I already bought them but if I want to I can buy them again. Not redownload but actually repurchase. So no, not so simple.
Something must have gotten corrupted and apparently once that happens then things get squirrly real fast. That's ok, I have an engineering degree and am computer literate. Imagine my mom trying to mess with this? No way.
So no - not nearly simple enough.

ICal will no longer sync with macmini still syncs with iPhone, iPod and another mac...what happened?

iCal will no longer sync with wife's mac mini. It works with our iPhone, iPod and and older G5 tower. I am using an iMac. Nothing shows up on the mobile me calendar in her office. I have been unable to get the shared calendar to open on her machine. All had been well until yesterday.

I did restore from back-up as well. And I had thought of restoring my iPod to factory settings however...I just got my mother-in-law's old iPhone 3GS. Upon getting it from her I restored it to factory settings. After having the problems tonight syncing my iPod to iTunes I tried syncing the iPhone. It started out fine, showing it as a new device and setting it up. It shows both devices on my iTunes and then when I went to sync it I got the error message that none of the songs could be copied from my iTunes because they could not be found. But they all clearly show up in my iTunes. I had done this before when I was having the issue with my books and then I had deleted them all from iTunes and readded a few that I wanted to put on my iPod and it still wouldn't sync them. So I really don't want to take absolutely everything off my iPod and restore it to factory only to be unable to add anything from my iTunes ever again as is the case with the iPhone.

Will iCal to do's sync to Reminders?

I've not upgraded my Macs (home and work) to Lion as the home one is too old to run it. I currently have To Do's in iCal that I sync between my home and work computers through Mobile Me. Now that I've got iOS 5 on my iPhone and iPad is there a way to sync the iCal's To Do's to the iOS Reminders application?

To my understanding, they don't sync to iCal, they sync to a folder in the mail program. Not to sure about a Mac, however if you search over there on the right side of the screen for iCal and todo, you should find the answer.

Ical - deleted events prevent from syncing with missing sync

When I try to sync ical with my windows mobile 5.0 running Motorola Q via Missing Sync, I always encounter an error message that one of my ical-events prevents Missing Sync from an error-free sync.
This message comes up when I start Missing Sync: "iCal is reporting synchronization errors. One or more calendar events may not have synchronized properly from iCal. Errors may prevent this application from completing a successful synchronization."
The Missing Sync Protocoll rerfers to an event which I did already delete. So here's the question: how do I really get rid of a ical event which I have already deleted?

Same here. After the update to 10.5 I have succesfully done one sync between my Treo and iCal using MissingSync. Now iCal gives an error, see below. What is the workaround? Downgrading to 10.4.x? Or get an iCal 2 somewhere and run that?
I really want to get my ToDo and Calendar data from my Treo before I go from my Treo 650 to an iPhone. Any workaround is welcome.

ICal/DoubleTwist/HTC Evo Sync Issue

I have been using DoubleTwist to sync my HTC Evo calendar events to iCal (maybe 3 times). Since last time, all iCal events and calendars disappeared. I now can't add (option is grayed out) or edit events (as none are showing) or view calendars or do anything in iCal--not even print (msg: "There is nothing to print."). Since then, iCal tried to email reminders of events that were previously entered, but where are they? When I select new calendar, nothing happens...How do I get iCal working again??

My phone contacts don't sync with Address Book now that I have "Lion"! PLEASE HELP!

I have a Macbook Pro and have recently downloed Lion .... after having done this, my contacts no longer sync with Address Book. My calendar syncs with the iCAL but my contacts don't sync. I don't have iCloud set up and am not sure if that makes a difference, but any help would be GREAT!

The link provided did not contain a solution for me. However, based on what I read there, I was able to figure out the solution on my own.
Here it is. If you have a Motorola razr. Sorry I don't know which version of the phone or software I have. Go to phonebook. Choose the options by selecting the center menu key. Scroll through the list until you find Share Phonebook Entry. It is not in alphabetical order and may be the last entry. Select it and on the next screen choose bluetooth. The next screen is object exchange. If your computer appears as an option choose it, otherwise chose Look for device and when your computer comes up, select it. The phone will then send a card to your computer. Your computer will ask if you wanted to accept the card. There is also a box that gives you the option to select all. Check select all and then choose accept or hit return if accept is already highlighted in blue. The phone card will be saved to your computer in a default save location. You will next be given an option to see where the card is, in case you don't remember where your default location is. If you choose it, a window will appear showing you where the card is.
Next run isync and your data should be synchronized. Many duplicate entries will be somewhat altered in your computer's address book, i.e. first and last name will be combined and put in the first name box and so will not be recognized as duplicates. This is just part of the idiosyncrasies of the process. Manually go through and delete these.
This worked for me and I hope it is helpful to someone else out there having the same problem.

Calendars don't sync across .mac

I have an iMac, Mac Laptop, & Palm Treo (linked via Missing Sync to iMac). After sync'ing Treo to iMac it created new Calendars. The new calendars don't sync to the laptop (via .mac) however, plus entries I make on the laptop never get sync'd back to the iMac. I'm frustrated and not sure what to try...

I am experiencing more or less the same problem and another one with address book. I have an iMac running Leopard and an iBook with Panther. The calenders will not sync period. I have been battling now for a a day trying to get an iCal sync but with no result. I would be grateful for any assistance.

ICal 3.0.2 sync issues

I'm pulling my hair out ever since I upgraded to Leopard. My iCal entries will NOT sync now. Contacts seem to be OK. I NEVER had any problem before I upgraded to Leopard OS. I am using an iMac G5 2.1Ghz and a new MacBook Pro 2.4 Ghz and I want to purchase an iPhone but I am really reconsidering if I'm having this much trouble now.
I have "reset sync history" on both machines and "reset sync data" multiple times. I don't know what else to do. Shouldn't this be easy? What ever happened to the easy to use Macs of old?! I hope Apple is working on this...Any new suggestions anyone?

Found the solution .....
Successfully fixed iCal syncing issues as well. After deselecting "Show Birthdays Calendar" and performing a synch, all is well. I suspect it is a bug related to the fact the birthdays is a subscription calendar.
