ICal to iPhone synching deleted events

When synching iCal to my iPhone, I get multiple deleted items added back to my iPhone. I then have to go through and delete them on the iPhone manually. These items are no longer on iCal on my MacBook Pro, but everytime I synch these old deleted events continue to show up. I have changed the name of the calender to see if a particular file was corrupted - that does not fix the problem. It is getting to the point where I just dread synching my iPhone. Any suggestions?

In iTunes, there should be a setting to choose which calendar events created on the phone are added to - something like: “Put new events created on this phone into". (I don't have an iPhone to check detail.)
Make sure that the calendar selected here is the one you are syncing with.
My suspicion is that - even though you are not creating these events on the phone - this setting is preventing their deletion being recognised at the iCal end of the equation.

  • ICal to iPhone synch occasionally shows up as one hour earlier on my iPhone

When synching iCal to iPhone, sometimes an event will show up on my phone as an hour earlier. I have checked all the daylight savings time items, and they appear to be correct. Suggestions?

I was having the same problem, but for all events. I'd created a 2PM event in iCal, and it'd appear as 1PM on the Touch, consistently. The time zones were matched and 'Time Zone Support' was turned off in iCal.
I called Apple, the tech had no idea, but he had me erase my entire iPod (using iTunes Restore), then sync it again. It took hours, but it did eventually work. Ugh.

  • IPhone Synchs Declined Events from iCal

I have events that I have declined in iCal start to appear on the calendar app on my iPhone. The events are from invitations sent from other people via email as vCalendar invitations (from an MS Exchange calendar system) and while iCal handles their declination just fine the events get stuck on my iPhone and do not have an option to be removed. Any ideas as to what's going on?

Check the timezone for both your computer and iPhone. Make sure that they are consistent. Also, if you travel and have appointments in different timezones, make sure that timezone support is on for both computer and iPhone..

  • Ical on Iphone not sending events to icloud ical

    Hi,
I'm having the issue that events I put into my ical on my iphone 4s are not appearing on my icloud or on ical on my mac. Ical on my iphone is retrieving events from ical fine. I updated to mavericks and ios7 a few months ago and this is the first problem I've had with this. I've tried turning calendars off and on again under icloud settings on my phone. Any ideas?

  • ICal (5.0.3) deletes event someone else created if I decline it after having previously accepted it.

There was a bug in iOS6 where rejecting an invite would cancel the event.  Has anyone seen the same problem in iCal (5.0.3 on OS 10.7.5)?
    Here's the iOS 6 link.
    http://zahirshahblog.com/2012/10/07/apple-iphone-ios-6-bug-for-exchange-server-m eeting-invitation-apple-iphone-ios-6-compatibility-issues-with-microsoft-exchang e-server/
I've experienced this when declining an event that I had already accepted.  When I do this, I get responses from people like the event has actually been cancelled when all I was doing was removing this from MY calendar on the Exchange server.  I was not the creator of the event, only an invitee.  Therefore, the event should not be deleted when I decline the event.  This has happened a third time recently on 2 events that were on my schedule but I declined.  I now need to figure out how to get those invites back to everyone else so the meeting can be on.
    Thanks

We have been seeing some issues with the update on Macs with ATI Radeon cards.
Please submit a detailed bug report including your system information so that we can use this information to isolate the problem and get a better sense of what systems are affected.
In the meantime, rolling back to a version before the update may be your best bet.

  • ICal and iPhone synch problem

I have the birthdays setup in my iCal in the address book and it shows properly in the iCal but when I synch it to my iPhone it places the birthdays ahead by 1 day ex. DOB June 29 it will post it on the iPhone as June 30.

There is another topic on this issue [here|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=11746693].
The topic is current and one user appears to have found a workaround.

  • ICal for iPhone. View all events as a list without having to type into the earth box.

iCal for iPhone. View all events as a list without having to type into the earth box.
On the previous software version I used to be able to view all my calendar events as a list by clicking on the magnifying glass. Now you have to type into the search dialog box for a list to populate. This is very frustrating and annoying because I much prefer the list format to populate everything unless I specify what I am looking for into the search box. Is there a way to view all the events as a list without having to type anything into the search box?

And you are aware of the possible options for listing the months and having an optional export value for each month.
For listing the months, you can use a number, a 3 character string, or the full name.
For the export value, the full name, the 3 character value, the 1-2 number, or the 0-11 JavaScript value.
I would look at deciding how you want to populate the drop down box and build a one page form with just this field. You can then insert that page into a PDF and copy the field as needed and then delete the inserted page. Or you could create an FDF file to create the drop down box.

  • Upon syncing my iPhone and mac all of my ical and iPhone calendar events have duplicated. how can i fix this and avoid it in the future?

upon syncing my iPhone and mac all of my ical and iPhone calendar events have duplicated. how can i fix this and avoid it in the future?

    Greetings,
    Questions:
    1. What version of the Mac OS are you running (Apple > About this Mac)?
    2. What version of the iOS are you running (Settings > About)?
    3. Do you backup your computer (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1427)?
--- If you don't regularly backup your computer, now is the time to start.
    4. Do you backup your iPhone (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766)?
Check the calendar list on the left hand side of iCal.  Is it that the individual events are duplicated or is it just that you have the same calendar listed more than once?  If its that you have more than 1 copy of each calendar, you can delete one of the duplicate calendars to eliminate the duplicates.
If you find that it is the individual events that are duplicated then there are 2 options:
    1. Restore your computer iCal database or iPhone from a backup made before the duplication occurred.
    2. Use a duplication removal program (or do it by hand) to remove the duplicates: http://www.nhoj.co.uk/icaldupedeleter/
If you have a backup made before the duplication occurred, reply back with what kind of backup you have and I'll suggest how to recover the calendars.
To avoid this issue in the future:
Keep regular backups.  They are your best defense against data anomalies which are a fact of life in computers (although hopefully rare).
Keep your computer and iPhone software fully up to date (Apple > Software Update / Settings > General > Software Update).
Make sure the date and time on your computer and iPhone are correct before you sync the two devices.
Make sure the cable connections between the two is solid and that the cable shows no signs of physical damage.
    Hope that information helps.

  • ICal on Mavericks is unable to delete events on my CalDav calendar

    Dear Apple Support Community,
if somebody else experience the same problem: iCal that comes with Mavericks is unable to delete event on a shared CalDav-based calendar (creating a new and editing works). Any help appreciated.
    Regards

    Hi joelee42,
If you are having issues with your iPhone's Calendar application becoming unresponsive or quitting when your attemp to delete an event, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First, quit all running applications and test again -
Force an app to close in iOS
Next, I would try restarting and if needed resetting the iPhone -
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPhone as a new device -
How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups

  • Deleting event in iCal 5.0.1 not syncing with Google Calendar

When I delete an event from iCal, it does not sync with Google Calendar.  However, when I create an event in iCal, it syncs just fine with Google Calendar. Creating and deleting events from Google Calendar syncs fine with iCal.  Has anyone else experienced this problem?

12/13/2011 - call to google tech support
Recent support call with Google: iCal deleting events still broken.  this is big for us.  We have users that have accounts for and/or subscribe to multiple calendars, and took a while to teach them to use iCal, so web based calendars will be foreign to them (even though I like the web based).  There is no timeline in place according to Google Tech Support.  I feel like the issue is really Apple's issue, so Google is waiting on them to fix, this type of urgency(or lack of) is right up their alley.  Oh well.
Does anyone have any suggestions on alternate calendar apps for Mac?  Specifically for google calendars?

    Hello
The posted event log indicates some inconsistent behaviour of iCal in referencing item 2 of every event. I.e., it could access it first and failed to do so after a new event is created. Scent of bug here. Or possibly inserting ugly small delay after event creation might let the script delete the newly created event...
Anyway, the 'by index' reference form of object must be used very carefully when object can be deleted or added dynamically.
Also I wish to add that it is not recommended to use an object specifier, that returns list of objects, as the base list for repeat statement, such as :
    --CODE1
    -- # not recommended
repeat with theEvent of (events of calendar "Untitled")
    -- omitted
    end repeat
    --END OF CODE1
Instead, you'd better get the list first and use it, such as :
    --CODE2
    -- # recommended
repeat with theEvent of (get events of calendar "Untitled")
    -- omitted
    end repeat
    --END OF CODE2
    The reason is as follows.
In CODE1, the iterator is assigned as item k of events of calendar "Untitled", where k iterates from 1 to count of events of calendar "Untitled" at the time of loop entrance. The problem is that this list of events is dynamic list which may change when event is deleted or added, and consequently item k as iterator may no longer refer to the item k of the original collection of events.
In CODE2, the iterator is assigned as item k of a static list which is obtained by statement 'get events of calendar "Untitled" at the time of loop entrance. If the event object is returned in 'by ID' reference form (or any form other than that depends upon index in the container), item k as iterator is guaranteed to refer to the item k of the original collection of events whether or not collection changes.
Thus you may try something like this :
    --SCRIPT
    (* not tested *)
    tell application "iCal"
    tell calendar "Untitled"
repeat with theEvent in (get its events) -- # get the objects list
set theEvent to theEvent's contents -- # dereference each once
    set AppleScript's text item delimiters to {space}
set textSummary to text items of summary of theEvent
set AppleScript's text item delimiters to {""} -- # reset astid
if item 3 of textSummary is "Lab" then
if item 5 of textSummary is "5-6" then
    tell theEvent
    set prop to {¬
    start date:(its start date) - 0.5 * hours, ¬
    end date:its end date, ¬
    status:its status, ¬
    summary:its summary, ¬
    allday event:its allday event}
    end tell
make new event at end of events with properties prop
    delete theEvent
    end if
if item 5 of textSummary is "3-4" then
    tell theEvent
    set prop to {¬
    start date:its start date, ¬
    end date:(its end date) + 0.5 * hours, ¬
    status:its status, ¬
    summary:its summary, ¬
    allday event:its allday event}
    end tell
make new event at end of events with properties prop
    delete theEvent
    end if
    end if
    end repeat
    end tell
    end tell
    --END OF SCRIPT
    Hope this may help,
    H
