Ical unable to sync to IPAD

I updated to icloud on my imac. My imac is in snow leopard. I have an IPAD 2. everything was working fine for a while, now nothing is syncing to the ical on the imac. the ipad and the online icloud is fine. HELP!!

Michele,
The most recent OS for the Mac is 10.7.3 Lion.
System requirements for OS X Lion and Mac OS X v10.6 lists computer hardware requirements. I would recommend 4 GB of RAM instead of the 2 GB listed by Apple.

Some things to try in this order:
    1) Make sure you designated the correct folders for music, etc.
    2) Press and Hold the Home and Power buttons on the iPad until the Apple Logo appears, about 10 seconds.
    3) Make sure all antivirus and firewalls are off.
    4) Delete and reinstall itunes. (Back up the itunes folder first.)
    Hope this helps...

To be honest I'd be very tempted to ring Applecare and explain that prior to downloading iOS5 your iPod Touch worked perfectly however since downloading Apple's new iOS5 it's "bricked" therefore can they as a matter of decency try to help put things right warranty situation notwithstanding.  Afterall it does appear to be one of Apple's products that has broken your previously working iPod Touch.

  • Since upgrading to iTunes 10.5.1 I am unable to sync my iPad

The first issue began with iTunes crashing.  I then uninstalled and reinstalled the 64-bit version of iTunes. I am now unable to sync my iPad.  Please, can someone help me?  Apple Support is worthless since I can't seem to contact anyone.  Any help would be appreciated.
I am running iOS5 on my iPad 1
When I try to sync my iPad I get the following message on the screen:  "this iPad cannot be used because the required software is not installed.  Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes, then install the 64-bit version of iTunes."    Which I have done many many times.

    Try the following steps:
    1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.
    2. You should remove all instances of iTunes and the rest of the components listed below:
it may be necessary to remove all traces of iTunes, QuickTime, and related software components from your computer before reinstalling iTunes.
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:
    iTunes
    QuickTime
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Follow the instructions from Apple article listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 to remove all components
    3. Reboot your computer. Next, download iTunes from here:http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and install from scratch

  • I am unable to sync my iPad with my new MacBook Air without losing all photos even though both are linked to the same iTunes account

I am unable to sync my iPad with my new MacBook Air without losing all photos even though both are linked to the same iTunes account

Transferring photos from your computer has nothing to do with your iTunes account/Apple ID.
Photos can be transferred from a single computer only. When transferring photos from another, all photos on the iPad that were transferred from a different computer will be erased from the iPad first - even if the photos were transferred from the old or different computer to the new computer being used for syncing.
When transferring photos from your computer, what is named the iPod Photo Cache is created on your computer for the photos that are transferred and why you see new photos being transferres are optimized before the actual transfer process. The iPod Photo Cache for these photos on the computer the photos were transferred from is not available on your new computer.
Since all photos on your iPad that were transferred from the old or different computer should remain on that computer, transfer the photos from that computer to your new computer. These photos on your iPad will be erased with the first sync but will be re-transferred along with a new iPod Photo Cache for these photos being created on your new computer.

  • ICal unable to sync

When I upgraded to Leopard iCal worked fine for about 1 week. But since then I am unable to sync my calenders between my different Macs via my .Mac account, while there is no problem syncing the other applications (Contacts, Mail accounts...). Strangely the syncing of iCal works between my Mac and my iPod.
Has anybody an idea why syncing does not work between my Macs ?

It seems everyone is having the same problem with Leopard and iCal. First, you probably noticed that the Leopard upgrade screwed up iCal and removed several features. Now you have learned with the rest of us have...iCal won't sync to .Mac so that other computers can be updated with the data.
I tried everything the .Mac support group sent me and more. Just like the others in the forum. Bottom line...the Leopard version of iCal won't sync. My suggestion is to go back to Tiger until that get this bug fixed.

  • ICal won't sync with iPad

iTunes says that calendars are syncing, but events from my iPad don't show up on my iMac.  This is frustrating as this is the only way I have of syncing my iPad and iPhone.  Please help
I have searched and see that many others are having this issue with no real resolution.  I am hoping it has been fixed in the 6 weeks since the last post I found.

  • ICal will not sync to iPad

My Mail and Contacts seem to be syncing, but not iCal. I am plugging in my iPad to my iMac to do various tasks manually (moving only selected photos and music, for instance) but, even using the cable does not provide an iCal sync.  I had the "all calendars" option chosen. If I try to sync only selected calendars, only a random few of those sync, not all the ones I've selected and then, when I go back to trying to sync all, even the ones that synced previously disappear from the iPad. I'll probably wind up visiting the local Genius Bar, but am wondering if anyone on this list has any ideas about why only iCal is having syncing problems. Thanks! System info:
iMac with Snow Leopard (OS 10.6.8)
    iPad 2 with OS 5.0.1.

Cancel this question. I just figured out what was wrong — it had to do with the settings on the iPad itself and think I've fixed those.
But now I have a different (less pressing question). Is there any way to get the iCal calendar on iPad to start on a Monday? That option is available in the ICal preferences on the iMac, but I don't see any place to make that change on the iPad version? I like to look at my work week starting on Mondays — I don't begin my week on Sundays!

  • ICal to-to syncing with iPad Calendar app.....

Why is it still missing!?!??! I tried using the to-do feature in AppleMail and all I got on my .mac account on my iPad Mail was useless mime attachments...no way to edit or mark it completed.
Also, who's ridiculous idea was it to migrate the to-dos from iCal to Mail? Why would anybody want to go to their Mail app when scheduling tasks? I can't refer to my Calendar in Mail, and AppleMail on my iPhone and iPad don't to have support for it either. I switched years ago from Entourage to iCal for my scheduling precisely to avoid this sort of silly disconnect.
Are there any plans to support to-do item sync from iCal on my Mac and any of Apple's mobile products in any useable fashion? If syncing to-do data with iPhones, iPads, etc is not going to be supported then why even have it in iCal in the first place?
Seems very un-Apple-like to not have this functionality after waiting for it for 2+ years now. This appears to be decidedly Microsoft-like to me: Un-user-friendly, to say the least. What's up?

It hasn't been migrated or switched to Mail. It has been incorporated with Mail which you don't have to create there if you don't want to. You can create a To Do in Mail - receive an email that provides or reminds you of a To Do to create, which will be available in iCal automatically, or create a To Do in iCal only if you prefer switching applications in order to do so. A To Do created in Mail can be stored locally on your computer's hard drive, or stored on the server with a MobileMe account.
Support for syncing To Do's hasn't been provided yet, which may have something to do with including Tasks with Outlook and being able to sync between the two for this data as is available for contacts and calendar events for those who sync this data on their Mac and with a Windows PC. Maybe this will be included with firmware 4.0 to be announced this Thursday.
Are there any plans to support to-do item sync from iCal on my Mac and any of Apple's mobile products in any useable fashion?
Since this is a user to user help forum only, doubtful if any fellow users know what Apple's plans are. If they did, they wouldn't be allowed to say until Apple makes an announcement, or until a firmware update is released that includes the option.
If syncing to-do data with iPhones, iPads, etc is not going to be supported then why even have it in iCal in the first place?
Because To Do's have been available with iCal long before the iPhone and iPad were released?
