ICal Uses Obsolete Email Address for Reminders
Hey Everybody,
I transferred all my data from my old mac to my new laptop. In doing so, I got a new email address and iCal won't stop sending reminders to my old email address. I know it's doing this because I get mailer-daemon messages back about it. I've tried fixing the problem the following ways, all of which have failed:
- Changed my email address in my address book
- Changed the email address on all iCal events in question
- Used the find / spotlight tool to look for any instance of my old email address in my Library folder
Can anybody think of anything I can do to fix this?

In Address Book, make sure that your card is actually designated as "My Card."
Address Book "Help" excerpt:Setting up your contact information
In Address Book, you should make sure the address card that contains your personal information is marked as "me." This information is used by other applications, such as Mail, iChat, and Safari.
1. Select your card in Address Book. Make sure it contains your email address, phone number, and so on.
2. Choose Card > Make This My Card.
3. Add your picture to this card to have it show up in other applications that use Address Book.

Yes, but be sure she is on a separate iCloud account with a separate ID before deleting anything. Be sure there is nothing that you want to keep on your device too. When you delete the data from iCloud it will be deleted from all devices signed into the account. Then you can delete the data from the existing account by doing the following:
To delete the contacts, go to iCloud.com from your computer, log into your iCloud account and open Contacts, click on All Contacts on the left, to the right click on any single contact to select it, click on the Actions (gear shaped) icon at the bottom left and choose Select All, then press the Delete key on your keyboard.
For Calendars, open the calendar on icloud.com, click Edit on the bottom left, then tap the minus sign to the right of each calendar to delete it.
For Notes, open notes on icloud.com, click on each note on the left, then click Delete at the top to delete it.
For Reminders, open reminders on icloud.com, click on each reminder and press your Delete key to delete it.
For Mail, open your mail on icloud.com, click each folder on the left (such as your inbox), click on a single message to the right, press Control-A on your keyboard to select them all, then press your Delete key. Repeat this for each of your mail folders except Trash. When finished, click on the actions (gear-shaped) icon on the bottom left and select Empty Trash.
If you also want to delete your iCloud backups you can go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage on your device, tap the name of your device under Backups, then tap Delete Backup. -
Someone in France is using my email address for an Apple ID.
Just bought my first iPhone 24 hours ago. Tried to create an Apple ID. Someone in France is apparently using my email address for their own account. Whenever I try to redeem the code on an App Store card I just bought, a message pops up that I presume says I can't use the code in France. Then iTunes and the App Store revert to French settings. I can reset the language to Canadian english on my laptop, but iTunes and the App Store on my iPhone remain in French. I've tried resetting my iPhone, to no avail. Very frustrated because I only get email support, and have to wait 24 hours for a reply. When I looked at my account, there is someone else's personal information, including credit card info. WHY?????????????//
You'll probably have to contact iTunes store support to straighten this out. They deal with Apple ID issues all the time. You can contact them here: http://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html.

Three possibilities.
1) If you already have an up to date Adobe account with associated email, you need to register it with ADE.
menu/Help/Authorize Computer (Library/Authorize Computer on the older more reliable v1.7.2).
2) If you already have an Adobe account/ID and have books that have been bought using it, then you should change the email associated with that account.
Login at the adobe.com website ('sign in' near top right), using the old email the account is currently associated with.
(Doesn't matter if this is no longer valid as an email address, it is still valid to access your Adobe account)
Choose 'My Information' on the 'Welcome' dropdown, enter your new email in the appropriate place, and confirm changes.
You will later need to validate that new email address by clicking on the confirmation email it will send.
Then follow step 1.
If you have an old account and the email is no longer valid and you've forgotten the password, try Adobe Live Chat to get access to the account again.
3) You need to create yourself a brand new account.
Click the 'sign in' and choose 'Dont' have an Adobe ID'.
Once you have established oe, go to step 1 -

Try getting a credit card from the same people who issued the debit card. If I read the home sharing paper properly after your set it up with the credit card you can change the payment method back to debit.

Someone is using my email address for BT to send a...
Not sure how to explain this but I will try!
In May 2012 I switched to BT for Broadband and gave them my Hotmail address to send the info too which was fine.
I then started to receive emails to this hotmail account for Tesco club card, which I don't have, Love film which I don't have and Gocompare.com, I have pointed out to who I could that they are sending to the wrong address.
Recently I have been getting emails from BT saying that my BB is now working and that I have subscribed to BT sport and tonight I have received a notice to say that I went over my quota last month and offering unlimited.
None are pertinent to me and I can only assume that someone is giving out my email address by mistake. The person involved has the same surname as me and I now know his home address and BT account number plus his BT email address.
Back in August when the last messages arrived about his BT account I emailed his BT email address pointing out that he was giving out the wrong Hotmail email address and that he should change it as I was getting all his personal info, I received no reply and the emails continue.
I realise that it is not BT's fault but perhaps someone could advise me -:
1) Is it possible for someone else to be given the same Hotmail address as me? (I thought not)
2) How do I email BT to ask them to stop this person giving my email address for his info without stopping them sending my info to the same address?
3) Where in BT do I change the email address to which they send me BB info? It's a different email to my normal one on BT com and I can't see where to change it.
It is awkward as when info arrives from BT I sometimes have a job working out if it's genuinely for my account or for this other person!Hi scrimper,

Possible to use custom email address for eprint?
I have recently picked up an e-print capable printer. From what i see, i have to use the randomly generated @hpeprint.com address. Is it possible to use a custom email address for this printer? If not, will a feature like this be added in the future?
I would prefer to have it connect to my smtp server to recieve mails from an address of my chosing rather that using the hpeprint domain.The best that can be hoped for right now is to set up a secondary email address such as gmail that you keep private and use only for eprint emails. Set up your new email account to forward all received emails to the ePrint email address of your printer. I am in the process of testing this myself after reading another thread here suggesting it.
Edit: I had hopes for this, but no luck! Get message in Eprint center about too many recipients.Wish HP could fix this.

How to delete obsolete email addresses for automatic messaging?
I have two addresses for a contact, one correct (JohnDoe @gmail.com) and one incorrect (JohnDoe @gmail.net). I have corrtected John Doe's contact information. However, when I enter the name John Doe for the Sent To, I still get both email address for John Doe. mostlikely held in memory for automatic messaging. I want to get the wrong email address from showing up as a choice. How do I do this?
I assume automatic messaging is holding the wrong email address in memory.

The organization is basically a daycare/kindergarten with a staff of about 5. We don't really have a need for a business online image persay, well not like a fortune 500 company or others would need..
I basically had entertained the idea for shareable calendars on icloud would be a huge asset and since we are migrating to more apple products such as ipads and Macs in the classroom, it would be nice to streamline things with icloud..
So it's not so important to 'show' our email address as it is than to just be able to utilize them. However our day to day clients would use the new icloud email addresses, hence why I was asking if it was legal.
But regardless, your points are right and I can see alot of folks argue against such free email vs an isp hosted email accounts..
