ICal Web Publishing Error, UK time change

We publish booking availability for our village hall via ical onto the hall's website.
During October 2010 the " We're Sorry" Apple error message was encountered and put down to problems associated with the UK summer/winter time change.
The problem then disappeared for some weeks - the calendar published to the web site without a hitch.
Now it has re-occurred.
Have Apple made a decision to remove the web publishing feature or is it just another technical hitch?

Hey Christos,
I'm not sure if that is possible  with the plugin, but I will double check. If you are just looking to do some basic monitoring and control, using a web service might be better suited in this case, since it is lighter and can serve actual web pages instead of relying on a plugin. Feel free to check out our Web development community group, try some of the examples, and post to our discussions: https://decibel.ni.com/content/groups/web-services

  • Publishing Errors every time

Ok, I've had it. I have tried to set up a new theme for my site to hopefully overwrite all material on MobileMe, I am currently in the process of erasing all my site data on the remote disk, and still, when I publish, it goes for a long time, and then, it says there is a publishing error. Every time.
    PLEASE SOMEONE HELP.

Have you tried publishing to a folder on your Desktop first to see if that will work? If it does then you've narrowed down the problem to the transfer to the server. If it doesn't then you may have a problem with some of the source material.
If publishing to a folder works OK delete the files from your iDisk/Web/Sites folder and try a Publish All to MobileMe.

  • Unknown Publishing Error every time I try to Publish my site.  Any ideas?

My website wouldn't come up in iweb a few days ago and we followed some advice in here that worked to get it back. Could this have something to do with it? Or - I wonder if it is causing a problem because I am using different themes on different pages. Does this matter? Please help.

If you are having trouble publishing to a folder then this is not good.
Many times, issues with publishing to .Mac do not affect publishing to a folder. If the application will not deliver to a folder, then there is a file or something in the site that it doesn't like. Check for bad file extensions or perhaps unusual movie formats that you may have recently added.

  • UPK 3.1.5 player - Localhost web publishing error

    Hello,
I can publish and run my Player packages locally. But when I upload it to our intranet and point a URL to the player.exe file
    https://xxx.xxx.xxx/UPK/BM02/play.exe
, it downloads and runs the player, I then get an empty browser window with the following URL:
    http://localhost:1864/
If I copy the directory back to my PC it works fine (no filename case problems).
Any ideas as to why this happens?
    Thanks,
    James

It can't find the toc.html file if you try to link to the Player itself. You can also point to the kp.html file for a table of contents.

  • Publish Error - An error occurred while publishing file "/Web/Sites/iWeb/X"

    Hello everyone,
I've been using mac for about 10 years now and have finally decided to try out this iWeb application. Spent several hours putting the site together... fun... but when I hit the publish button, the following error popped up.
    Publish Error
An error occurred while publishing file "/Web/Sites/iWeb/X". (X being my site name which also happens to be my .mac account name.
So I've spent another 3 hours trying it over and over again but still no luck. So I've searched this forum and see if there's any tips. Found a lot of solutions but none of them seem to help. I've deleted all the folders and file on my 'Sites' folder on the iDisk. Closed all running apps before hitting the 'Publish' button. And I've even deleted all my work and tried just to upload the 'welcome' page. Still doesn't work.
I'm getting a bit annoyed... Are there any solutions for my problem??
    I'm using a PowerBook G4 12" 1.33GHz Mac OS X 10.4.9 with iWeb 1.1.2
Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!!

Probably not. No big deal, really. The important thing is we have been able to get your site on the .Mac server, albeit in the homepage directory.
Ok here's your last assignment. This will also take awhile, but when you are finished your site will be up on .Mac and accessible using the web.mac.com/username/iWeb/sitename url.
Since you have already initiated a publish to .Mac from iWeb, the root directory for iWeb should be on your iDisk. You should be able to navigate to the iWeb folder following this path:
    Go/iDisk/MyiDisk/Web/Sites/iWeb/SiteFolder
"SiteFolder" should be a folder named for the site you are having trouble publishing.
On your desktop, open the Site folder that iWeb delivered when you published the original site using the Publish to a Folder... command. You will see a number of folders in there and a number of page.html files. Drag each of these into the Site Folder mentioned earlier, on the iDisk. (The one named for the site). The root index.html file, (the one published outside of the Site folder) needs to be placed in the Web/Sites folder; you should see it in the column above the iWeb folder when done. Basically, you are "manually" uploading your site. It's cumbersome and a royal pita, but if successful, this exercise will confirm what I have suspected all along:
The problem is a latency/time-out error. (The actual error message itself is misleading and somewhat immaterial--iWeb probably chose it randomly). Lots of things contribute to it, but basically, iWeb gets tired of waiting on the WebDav protocol and then generates an error message. I wish I could be more specific, but that's about as close as I can get to the core issue. Many folks publish successfully from your area of the world; just keep trying, and when all else fails, you can always swap out the changed files manually following the method outlined above.

  • Since Time Change, iCal and iPhone Calendar Time Are All Messed Up

Ever since the most recent daylight-savings time change, I noticed all events I created in iCal, when synced with my iPhone, became an hour off. If I edit the event on the iPhone, it stays the correct time on my iPhone, but when it syncs with iCal again, the time on iCal goes off by another hour, even though the time for the event on the iPhone stays correct. (Hopefully that makes sense) Has anyone else experienced this problem? It is incredibly annoying, because now I have no trust in any of my calendar entries as to what the correct time is.
As an example: I created an event for Sunday the 16th on iCal on my Mac for a 1-hour soccer game from 8:00PM - 9:00PM. When I synced my iPhone, I noticed a few days later that the event on my iPhone now said the event was from 9:00PM - 10:00PM...one hour off! I edited the event on my iPhone, and re-synced. Now my iPhone has the correct time (which I manually edited on the phone) but iCal now says the event goes from 7:00PM - 8:00PM. Again, an hour off, but in the reverse direction (an hour off early, rather than late). When I sync now, even though the times on the iPhone and the times on iCal don't match, they do not change...it's as if either the computer or the phone didn't recognize daylight savings time or something, and thinks it has the correct time for the event. Both my Mac and my iPhone's clocks do display the correct time and date, however, so it's not like the system clock is off. It is completely bizarre, and I entered my entire teams schedule this way, so ALL games were off, and now is completely screwed up. Please help.

Yes, I did. I posted an identical post in the iPhone forum since no one answered here. http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1791145&tstart=0
The first reply solved the problem. It involved the Time Zone setting in iCal Advanced preferences for me.

  • ICal on iPad no reflecting daylight savings time change correctly

i have my iCal on my iPad to auto update with daylight savings, however, the start times are all ok, but the end times do not reflect the time change. am i missing something?

I fixed this problem by going to system preferences--mail, calendars--and turned off time zone support. When my iPhone didn't change time for daylight savings, i had changed the time manually and apparently this moved my time zone from SF to Anchorage. After disabling time zone support, all my appointments were correct. You can also disable tim zone support withon the iCal application on a mac.

  • Can we change the label of Java Web start at the time of downloading applic

can we change the label of Java Web start at the time of downloading application?
At the time of downloading application(jar files) java web start shows "Downloading Application" lable on it window , so can we change it so some other..

The 'splash' screen might be of interest to you.
Here is the quick description from the FAQ.
    <http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/guide/javaws/developersguide/faq.html#206>
Section 3.5 of the JNLP Spec. has more details on using a splash screen for an application.
(But if you mean changing the very first screen seen when downloading an application the first time, the answer is 'no'.)
    Late addendum..
By the way - now I review your question, I note you stress 'while jars are downloading'.
There is another strategy you might take. Mark most of the application jar's as 'lazy' download, get the main GUI on-screen quickly, then use the JNLP API's DownloadService to fetch the rest of the jars, after the application is running.
This has the advantage that, then we can have complete control of whatever is shown on the screen during the bulk of the downloads. We might show ..a 'splash screen', or a dialog with the application name on it, or a progress dialog, ..or any combination of the three.

  • Publishing Error - Temporary Web Resources

I keep getting this Publish Error :
An error occured while publishing file "/Web/Temporary Web Resources/". Try publishing again later.
I have written to "Mac Support" and did everything they told me to do. My connection is fine. I can publish to a folder. I have deleted the mac.com cookies and emptied the brower's cache of temporary Internet-related files.
I put a copy of my "domain" file in my public folder so they can look at it and they have not gotten back to me since 8/31. I have sent two follow-up notes to them and have not heard anything. I even sent a feedback note to them.
Does anyone know how to solve this error message? I keep publishing over and over again hoping the problem will go away, but keep getting the same message.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I am a web designer and every time I make changes to my website I have to go in and clear my history so that the changes show up. Is there a setting that I can change so that I do not have to do this every time??

You can reload the page and bypass the cache with:
    * Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
    * Press Ctrl + F5 or press Shift + Ctrl + R (Windows,Linux)
    * Press Shift + Cmd + R (MAC)

  • Getting this error each time I publish.

The publish seems to go through ok but I get this error each time and MUSE shuts down.  I have attached an image showing the error.

Thanks for reporting this error. We've identified the problem and we've fixed it for the official release of Muse.

  • Publish error"/web/sites/iweb/site2/._files/navbar_active.png"

I have a single page website with a short (and, yes, small enough) imovie on it. I select 'Publish All to .Mac" and get this error message: "/web/sites/iweb/site2/.files/navbaractive.png" Can anyone help?

Check out Apnewbie's collection of helps for publishing errors:

If you are always getting preceisely the same error (with precisely the same path and file name,) you might try creating a new page identical to the first, and then deleting the existing page. If that doesn't work, youu might try doing so using a different template.

  • ICal and iCloud Calendar Appointments Problems Following Daylight Savings Time Change

This morning following the daylight savings time change, I noticed that some but not all of my appointments had shifted forward an hour. Strangely enough, some are correct on the iCloud calendar but are still not correct in iCal. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Here's another anomaly: the info panel is showing the correct time while the calendar view is not! I have turned off time zone support in both iCal and the iCloud calendar. It's so frustrating when you rely on these tools--especially for appointments--and you find that you can't trust them to be accurate!

    samdale67,
Have you had any luck fixing this problem yet?
I just noticed today that my iCloud calendar is consistently one hour behind my iPhone4s calendar. It's as if my iCloud calendar never got the Daylight Savings Time Spring Forward message. The iPhone, on the other hand, updated to DST right on schedule. It's annoying because I'm starting to use my iCloud calendar and would like the time change to be applied.
