ICal won't accept intelligent events

I know there are ways to use 'intelligent' times and dates to create an event in iCal. Only problem is, it isn't working for me.
Working on Lion and therefore the new iCal, in combination with MobileMe account which it syncs to. I tried a lot of things, different time formats, different ways to make clear which day, words from and till and so on. Nothing works.
Are there more people with this problem, or is there anyone who can be of help to me? Or am I just doing something wrong and can someone provide me with the proper format to use the intelligence of Apple.
Thanks in advance.
TW

I had this problem, too! My solution was to go to "settings", "mail, contacts, calendars", and select the option for ical to sync "events 3 months back". Since I was trying to add an event to April (Present Time is May), my MacBook iCal registered the new event, but it was too far back for my iphone to register and sync it. Hope this solves your problem, too!

  • ICal won't accept a resent invite after previous decline

My CEO sent me a meeting invite this morning, and I initially declined it as I was not going to be available. I was subsequently able to make some space in my schedule for the meeting and asked him to resend it.
So now I've got a new email, also with an ICS meeting attachment, but clicking on it opens iCal without showing the meeting. Is there some trick to getting this to work, or is the meeting lost forever unless the sender makes some change?
As an aside, declining the invite gave me no opportunity to give an explanation, so all my CEO got was a frosty email from me saying "<name> has declined your iCal event invitation to the event: Updated: DB install, scheduled for 20 May 2010 at 14:00 (GMT+00:00)."
A "career limiting moment", I'm sure you'll agree - is this really is the best iCal can do?

I haven't tried your fix yet, but I was having the same problem with iCal and now I have it with everything. Google wants to link with OS X for a number of apps - fine - I enter my password - still fine - then there's another window: will you accept x,y, z? I click 'accept' and I get 'Google authentication failed'. I have changed my password three time just to make sure I am using the correct password, but no.
I do wonder if the problem is gmail - the password window opens with my gmail address (which I never use) filled in. I change it to my real email address and the password is fine until it gets to the 'accept' thing. Just appeared in notifications again: Enter you pssword for [my username] in Internet Accounts. I just can't be bothered to try again.

  • Ical won't highlight calendar events in week view

When I click on a certain calendar, all the events from that calendar don't become highlighted like they did in Tiger iCal. This is annoying. Anyone else have the same issue?

I'm having the same problem too. I suspect it's a deliberate UI change on Apple's part, so I think everyone needs to lobby them to persuade them to change it back, since it's obviously not as good!

  • ICal will not accept any event

i add an event. Quit iCal and when opening iCal, the event is not saved..? any ideas? thanx!

I'm trying to figure out that one myself. It's not apparently consistent among Outlook users who send me invites, and mostly with Updated notices.
The console gives the error "InventionItem without UID", which seems to indicate a lookup failure, but I wish there was a debug mode where I could see what string it was trying to lookup.

  • ICal won't accept Google Calendar password

can't sync with my Google calendars anymore.
I have deleted the calendar accounts on my Mac.
Set up the 2-stpe passwords on Google.
Tried to create new accounts in iCal with my email address (is not a gmail account) and app specific password:
    - used Automatic Account setup: get a "Server With Secure Communication Unavailable" error message
    - used Google account type: it finds my account - asks me again right away for the password. I enter it. It creates the account but gives me the error icon and wants my password over and over without syncing.
    - used CaDAV account type: I enter User Name, app specific password and for server address: google.com
again, it finds my account and wants passwword right away.
I have also tried to use for a server address the calendar URL (https://www.google.com/calendar/dav/[email protected]/[email protected]/user) - no go.
I have quit iCal after various account setups and reopeen - always the same problem:
Alert icon next to the calendar account and when I click on it, it wants me to enter the password. I do and nothing happens - no syncing.
When I go to Delegates of the created account, I get an error message saying: Sever did not recognize your user name or passwword....
I only use the app specific password. I do have a different user name than my email address - but I have tried to use both at different times - no go.
    Any ideas?

  • ICal won't accept input

If I try to modify any of my events the app won't let me type inside any input boxes.

I have it set to automatic. I've tried dargging it, I've tried doubble clicking it in Finder. I've tried every way I can think of.
And as I mentioned, other invitations works. And this invitation works for others.

  • Ical won't accept password from att

how to get ical to accept att pasword

I have the same problem. I went to the apple store and they told me to Reset the iPad (That means every downloaded app will be deleted so they've advised me to back it up on my iCloud account or in iTunes account using my PC) I dont wanna do it since I can still use my BB Curve mobile hotspot. It connects to my ipad by disabling the password of the hotspot. I havent tried disabling the hotspot password on my iPhone 5 (I don't know how to do it) I haven't tried reseting the iPad yet but it might helpful to you.

  • I don't know why my iCal won't accept my Google password for syncing purposes.  I just updated the password last night. It says this: "The password may have entered is incorrect"

My ICal, keeps saying: "The password may have been entered incorrectly. Reenter the password for account “Google” on the CalDAV server “calendar.google.com.”

    Greetings Joe,
What version of the Mac OS are you running (Apple > About this Mac)?
    Try:
Go to iCal > Preferences > Accounts and remove all unneeded accounts especially Gmail / Google.
Go to iCal > Quit iCal
Go to Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > Keychain Access
Use the search bar to locate anything called "calendar.google.com" and then delete it.
Go to Keychain Access > Keychain FirstAid > Repair
Once complete go to Keychain Access > Quit Keychain Access
    Restart the computer.
Go to iCal > Preferences > Accounts and re-enter your Google account.
    Hope that helps!

  • When I accept an event in ical 4.0.4 it sends back a tentitive reply. Why? How can I correct it?

When I accept an event in ical 4.0.4 it sends back a tentitive reply. How can I change it so that I accept the invitation?

You can simply open your server.xml file by
    tomcat-Installiton-Directory/conf/server.xml
Open server.xml in some editor and search for a tag named "Context"
    <context path="myApp" docBase="Path of your application"........>
then in your browser you can run your application like
    http://localhost:8080/myApp/.....
where myApp is the name that you have specified in context path above.

  • My problem is that my iCal won't sync from my first-generation iPad to my computer, and the computer sends events multiple times back to the iPad... which is now full of duplicate events. I'm NOT on iCloud.

I'm just an old lady who doesn't know a lot about this stuff, but I do love my iPad and miss my portable calendar! My problem is that my iCal won't sync from my (first-generation, cheaper of the two models) iPad to my computer, and the computer sends events multiple times back to the iPad... which is now full of duplicate events. I'm NOT on iCloud. I've had this problem for nearly a year now. My Really Really Smart son couldn't fix it for me.

Can take some time.... how much time?
There's no simple answer to that. My calendar goes back to 2004 and is moderately busy; it took around an hour. It's possible that you've hit a slow period on the server - it happens.
In order for it to work, your calendars should show on the MobileMe site, they should be listed under your MobileMe login name in the calendar list in iCal (calendars listed under 'On My Mac' will not sync) and your MM account details have to be entered in iCal Preferences>Accounts (this should have happened by itself).
If it's not working please see the page I linked to.

  • Calendar will not sync with Google calendar. Won't accept my Gmail password.

    iPhone 5s 16GB (2.9 GB free), iOS 8.1.3
When I attempt to enter an event in Calendar, I get a message "Password Incorrect.  Enter the password for the Gmail account "Gmail'".
But when I try to enter my Gmail password, the app won't accept it and the same message appears.  And entries don't show up on my Google calendar..
I tried turning off calendars in iCloud but that didn't help.  Also turned off all calendars
This is not an operating system issue - keeps happening through several iOS updates.

Correction: Turned off all calendars in calendar app other than Google calendar for my Gmail account.

  • ICal won't launch after 10.5.2 upgrade

my iCal won't launch after 10.5.2 upgrade. it won't even give an "unexpectedly quit" message, it pops up then quits, then nothing. This happened immediately after the upgrade today. I got the leopard disc out and did an archive and install then it worked perfect, no issues, then I did a software update (since I was back to 10.5.0), and installed the 10.5.2 security upgrade, now iCal will not launch, am I the only one with this problem?

I had the exact same problem -- doubled events and could not edit anything. I flushed the cache as describe in some more detail here: http://www.tipstrs.com/tip/2506/iCal-problem-with-Leopard-Upgrade and everything started working just fine.

I installed this same digitizer in my T|X some weeks ago.  Some discussion of my experience may be found in this Usenet posting and subsequent thread.
The stock digitizer in my T|X had always had some significant alignment issues (for which PowerDigi was able to compensate very nicely) and sensitivity which was uneven, but which usually required a heavier touch than I liked.
Eventually, it began to develop a “dead spot” near the upper left.  My T|X was under warranty, so I probably ought to have sent it in to Palm to be repaired, but I wasn't willing to be without it for the required amount of time, and I've heard enough reports of other T|X owners getting unsatisfactory results this way.  I'd heard enough good reports about the PDAPARTS.COm digitizer, that I decided that the only acceptable way to repair my T|X would be to install one of those.
After however many weeks it has been, I am still very pleased with the results.  It continues to work flawlessly; it is much more sensitive, so it doesn't require nearly so heavy a touch, and I very much like the hard feel that it has, compared to the spongier feel of the stock digitizer.
My wife's T|X still has its stock digitizer, and it has so far not shown any of the same problems that mine did, or for which the T|X has become notorious, but the feel is noticeably inferior.  She's content with it the way it is, but I think that if I were to ever buy another T|X for myself, I wouldn't wait for the stock digitizer to fail.  The PDAPARTS.COM digitizer is simply superior in every imaginable way; and, in my opinion, a T|X with the PDAPARTS.COM digitizer installed is sufficiently superior to one with the stock digitizer (even if it isn't defective) to be very much worth the expense and trouble of installing it.
