Ical won't send via Mail opens Entourage instead

I am trying to send out an ical invite. When I hit send my Entourage opens up automatically to try and send it. I switched over to Mail a while ago and have been getting all my emails there and have turned off Entourage. How do I get my ical to send out using Mail?

i just had this problem. the reason why i had this problem was that there wasn't an email address in the address book for the person i was trying to send the invite to. i went into the person's vcard and added their email address and it works fine now.

    The add annotations field shows as not allowed in the security options. So how do I send this form back with the changes??

    I think you you need to click 'save' first, then it is saved to acrobat, where it will prompt to send.

  • How do I get files from an App that won't send via Email??

    Hey Apple Community, this is my first post.
    I got an App from the App Store called "Recorder Pro" from a developer called "David Bajada". I'm using this App for recording my commentaries for my YouTube channel from my iPad.  The problem is, it's 60 minutes long, and it won;t send by Mail when I click the "Share" button.  Now, I know there has to be some sort of way to get that Audio file off my iPad.  Is there any programs or software that can do this for me?  Or is it embedded to the iPad and can't be taken off/used?
    Please help,
    Thanks

    The App I have only has a "Share" button; which is linked to the "Mail" App that's on the iPad.  Problem is, that's the only way of sharing the file, through the Mail App.  The problem is, the file is too big and long to share via mail.  There has to be some someftware to extract that audio file from that App because it only supports sharing through Mail

  • "send via mail"

    When I want to "send via mail" pages no longer opens an email window. In fact, nothing happens at all, why is this?

    There is nothing to fix.
    Slash is an illegal character in file names since the delivery of mac OS X.
    What was a bug is the fact that 10.1 thru 10.6 took care of your wrong names.
    At last, the late OS behave as It would have ever done.

    It's difficult to do more than guess when you don't say what version of OS X or Pages you're running, but if you're on the latest, have you tried the Share menu -> Send via Mail command?
    If that doesn't help, you may have better luck if you ask in the Pages forum:

    When you repost, be sure to include full details about your versions so that people know what it is you're working with.

    Can Mavericks be uninstalled? Don't know if the discussion title pulled in all of my problem, so here it is again. Since installing Mavericks, my HP Printer adds an extra page to every print job, and iCal won't synch via iTunes with the Calendar on my iPhone 4s.
    And no, I was a bad boy and had not been Time Machining. Guess I will now.
    So, can Mavericks be uninstalled?

    iPhone won't send outgoing mail since upgrade to 5.0

    I would manually go over each smtp setting and compare it with the mail providers guide
    and if they were 100% the same then I would
    get in touch with the phone company to verify if they were blocking the ports being

    there is no general issue with ios5 removing out going mail services or blocking ports

    Which Mountain Lion version do you have? Which Pages 09 version?
    Do you restart the computers once in a while?
    I haven't heard about the problem before and I can't check it either. I am on Snow Leopard.
    A thought: Do you use not allowed characters like / in the document name?

  • Mail 6.2 won't send my mail???

    I think mail just up graded and now it won't send my mail.  What is wrong?  What can I do.  I have check my password and reentered it but it doesn't work.

    I've got the identical problem!  Can't send but can receive new incoming mail.
    When I first installed OS 10.6 several months ago Send worked just fine but after several more months send  function stopped working.
    I had the same problem with Mail app in OS10.5.8.....after many months of working without issue it eventually stopped. Receive also eventually stopped working in Leopard.
    Just as in OS 10.5.8., in 10.6.8 I keep getting the notification that  my email password is not accepted as valid.
    Was valid and accepted earlier but no longer.
    The consensus seems to be that Mail app is not totally reliable.

  • Does iCal report always report .ics times as GMT when sending via Mail?

    I received a .ics file from someone sending it in Outlook in Los Angeles (GMT-08:00) for an event from noon to 2pm. I am in the same time zone. I double-clicked it, and it showed up as a tentative event in iCal, starting at noon as expected. I then accepted it, and an email was automatically sent to the other participants. In the body text, it said: "Rehearsal, scheduled for December 7, 2008 at 8:00 PM (GMT)."
    The recipient didn't pay attention to the "GMT" text. Is the body text always going to report in GMT, or are there other other options?
    I haven't thought through all the ramifications, but it would be useful to report the local time (of the person(s) receiving the confirmation email(s).
    Relevant parts of .ics file I received:

    DTEND:20081207T220000Z

    I'm a few steps further towards a working iCal server now. Your answer clarified a lot.
    User on iCal server:
    Invitations are sent via [email protected] Both to invitees on same email domain and to external invitees.
    When I (user on iCal server) am invited by someone not on our iCal server, I get the invitation via Mail.app and iCal local reads it. And I'm able to reply, and my reply status updates in my local iCal. No problems so far.
    Mail.app (not iCal server) then sends a reply. And the inviter receives the reply as an email which is an .ics file attached. But the .ics is not understood by users not on iCal server.
    The format looks like this:
    ATTENDEE;CN="Myfirstname Mylastname";
    CUTYPE=INDIVIDUAL;EMAIL="[email protected]";
    PARTSTAT=ACCEPTED;
    ROLE=REQ-PARTICIPANT:urn:uuid:38BCCE7F-D85C-4C17-872E-5C3CFFFB4838
    I looks like the inviters iCal is not able to translate urn:uuid:38BCCE7F-D85C-4C17-872E-5C3CFFFB4838 to anything usable. And therefore sees it as if an unknow user has replied to the invitation. Apparently neither Mozilla Lightning og iCal local looks at EMAIL="[email protected]";
    Inviting and replying to and from users on iCal server works fine.
    Do I have to map the urn:uuid to the email somehow? Where? Or somehow allow external inviters to look to our server for urn:uuid to email translation?
    Or can I manually change a config file to send an .ics with my email insted my urn:uuid? Like this:
    PARTSTAT=ACCEPTED;ROLE=REQ-PARTICIPANT:[email protected]

  • Mail 4.1 incorrect "sending from" settings, won't send SMTP mail

    I've noted quite a few others reporting 10.6.1 SMTP mail problems, but I haven't seen my specific issue noted elsewhere.
    I've been able to send using my IMAP AOL address via Mail and longtime SMTP settings until today. Now, Mail apparently is scrambling outgoing email addresses and mismatching them with the outgoing SMTP settings. For instance:
    Using AOL address example [email protected] (showing correctly in the "From" window), the email will not send. The "cannot sent message using the server 'LG'..." dialogue comes up with the options to edit the SMTP server list or use the Connection Doctor. (All Connection Doctor reports coming back green, so the trouble's not there.)
    Looking a little closer at the dialogue box, though, it says Mail thinks the outgoing message is being sent from an entirely separate email address. In a couple of tests, the incorrect "sending from" address changes - one time it was a different AOL account, the next was an entirely separate .edu account. Wish I could attach a screenshot, but the bottomline is: I can see the "From" field showing the [email protected] address, but the error message about reconciling the outgoing server settings shows "Sending from: My Name <[email protected]>"
    Whatever the issue is, it is apparently not affecting (so far) my IMAP personal domain or IMAP gmail accounts - they're both sending and receiving normally.
    So Mail apparently is trying to send AOL account mail, but it's not finding the correct SMTP connection because somewhere along the way it's shifted the "sending from" to a different account.
    Any thoughts?

    I've been using Mail app with AOL accounts and the current settings for years with no trouble. This is new.
    I still think it's a Mail app issue - it's clearly showing in the error message a different "Sending from" account from the one that's actually selected and showing in the "From" window of the email message. It's as though Mail is trying to apply the existing SMTP settings for an erroneous account to the outgoing message. It's either trying to send [email protected] mail with YY.aol.com SMTP settings or vice versa.
    I'd be open to re-creating the AOL IMPAP accounts if I could avoid losing years worth of sent and received messages. I have everything backed up with Time Machine, but I've had very erratic email recovery issues with it since Snow Leopard too.

  • ICal won't send meeting invitations; can't recognize My card

    Hello,
    I have searched for this issue, and found a related article, but the fix didn't work for me. Here's the other article:
    iCal unable to send the invitation; needs address card...
    So when I try to send a meeting invitation using iCal, as soon as I type someone's email address, a message pops up:
    "Calendar will be unable to send the invitation. - To be able to send invitations, you need to add your email address to your card in Contacts. '(null)' is not a valid email address"
    I have tried creating a new card, restarted the system, reverted back to another card, but nothing works. I can no longer send meeting invitations. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Faisal

    After speaking with Apple tech support, this turned out to be a contacts corruption issue. If i recall correctly, I did the following:
    - Exported all contacts using the *Export vCard option"
    - Exported all contacts again using the "Contacts Archive" option
    - Closed mail, contacts, calendar, rebooted the system
    - Opened Library/Preferences folder and deleted all instances of com.apple.addressbook*
    - Removed google account completely
    - There were a couple of other files that I was asked to delete. Sorry but I can't remember at this time
    - Rebooted the mac
    - Created a new entry for my card, and made it my own card.
    - Opened calendar, and added a new event; sent the event to a test email
    - Opened contacts. Imported all contacts using the vCard option
    - Re-added Google account
    - Back to normal.
    Hope this helps others.
