  • ICC profile no longer installed so Photoshop (OS9 Classic ) won't print

    Hello everyone
What is an ICC profile? If I run my non latest Photoshop in the OS9 Classic environment on OS10 a message comes up that the ICC profile is no longer installed so it cannot print - what can I do?
    Bryony

An ICC profile is a mathematical snapshot of the color range and gamut of a given device. There are separate profiles for monitors, digital cameras, scanners, printers, etc. With this information, ColorSync knows what each device is capable of displaying, capturing or printing. As an example, it can then give you the closest color possible on your printer to match your monitor.
With Photoshop open, press CommandShiftK to call up the Color Settings. Under the Working Spaces section, see what profiles Photoshop is looking for under the RGB and CMYK fields. You should then find that profile in the OS 9 /System Folder/ColorSync/ folder. Actually, it doesn't mean it's there, but that's the one Photoshop is looking for.
You could choose a different profile. Or, you could reinstall Photoshop entirely, or do a custom install and have it only reinstall the ICC profiles.

  • Epson ICC profiles will not install in Mountain Lion

I have an Epson R1900 printer which requiress icc profiles. The generally agreed route has been to use those from Epson of America and these work fine on my PC. On the Mac however only the matte set will install. The glossy profiles bring up an error stating that I do not have enough permissions to complete the install. I believe this was also a known issue in Lion and I have found one suggested solution which was to adjust permissions in Colorsync and Profile folders in the Library.
However, in Mountain Lion this did not work for me. Does anyone else have success in installing these profiles?
    Previous discussion here https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3319527?start=0&tstart=0

I just used the Pacifist tool to peer into the Oct 4, Epson Printer Drivers v2.12 for OS X package. In particular, for the R1900, both sets of the ICC profiles are installed into the following paths. Supporting code for this printer is installed under the InkjetPrinter2 hierarchy.
    /Library/Printers/EPSON/InkjetPrinter2/ICCProfiles/SPR1900_A.profiles/Contents/R esources
    /Library/Printers/EPSON/InkjetPrinter2/ICCProfiles/SPR1900_W.profiles/Contents/R esources
    The AutoSetupTool is installed in:
    /Library/Printers/EPSON/InkjetPrinter2/AutoSetupTool/EPIJAutoSetupTool2.app
Everything in the above paths is owned by root with group admin. The individual R1900 .icc files are read/write by root, read-only by everyone else. There are two categories of .icc files for the R1900 as shown below:
    Stylus Pro R1900 A Profiles
    Stylus Pro R1900 W Profiles

  • Scribus 1.4.4 ICC profiles

    Hi,
Today, I noticed Scribus doesn't have all the CMJN profiles, and doesn't seem to be able to export to PDF-X/3 anymore...
I used it to produce professional printings some time ago and it worked perfectly...
If I try to open a document with Fogra 39L Coated , it complains that the ICC profiles are not installed, and asks to replace it.
Does anyone have the same problem?
    Thanks in advance...

  • Can't see the installed icc profiles for my paper in print module

I have downloaded and installed the icc profiles for my favourite Canson and Crane Museo papers on my new Macbook Pro but they don't show up in the options box in the LR 4 print module. Is there another step I have missed? Thanks in advance.

Where did you install the profiles? They should go into
Library/Colorsync/Profiles in your home folder or at the root level of your
hard disk. If you put it in that folder in your home folder, they show up
in user, if you put them in the root Library folder, they show up in
    "Computer" in Colorsync utility

  • What would cause my icc to no longer be installed and how can i fix it?

why is my icc not longer installed and how can i fix it?

I would like to help you and so would others, but the question gives us very little to go on.
Look at this guide. Although it involves Dreamweaver, the principles are the same. Look it over and learn how to ask a question that gets results.

  • How to install Epson ICC profiles using Photoshop CC?

How to install Epson ICC profiles ussing Photoshop CC on Mac?

    Danny,
Just stop and think for a moment. Firstly, it's not Rocket science to produce an icc profile, and does not involve the profile having to physically 'fit' into a pre-formed item such as the razor blade analogy you used.
Secondly, If the likes of Epson and HP did produce printer profiles for all makes of paper, can you imagine how much more product they would sell. Printer companies are currently missing out on substantial amounts of income at the moment because the cost of their inks is more expensive than gold! Thus, the third party ink manufacturers - although not producing an ink as good as the original - are earning large sums of money and once again this is income loss to the major printer manufactures.  Can you imagine what would happen if certain vehicles would only run on  a specific fuel? I don't mean Diesel or Petroleum, but different manufacturers, Shell, Texaco, Murco etc.
At the end of the day the only person who is adversely affected by this business model is us, the consumer.
I really don't think they need you to be standing up for them Danny.

  • ICC Profiles: How do I install?

Prior to Yosemite I had no difficulties installing ICC profiles, i.e., after downloading the print paper manufacturer's ICC profile, I would drag and drop it into the ColorSync profiles folder accessed through Library>ColorSync>Profiles. But now? There's no such thing, apparently and no instructional reference that I can find anywhere on the entire WWW.
How do I do it now? I've already spent at least two hours trying to find a way on my own after opening the ColorSync Utility in 10.10.2. I find no provision for importing or otherwise placing a new icc in ColorSync; the closest I've come is to open ColorSync: Profiles>Other>Library/Printers>EPSON/InkjetPrinters, where I'm presented with all the icc profiles that came with the Epson printer driver... but it won't accept a new icc profile by drag-and-drop or any other way I can see.  As for "Library", it doesn't seem to exist anymore, other than a "library" located somewhere after finding it with the "find" function; it contains a few folders of unrelated obscure files.
I am extremely frustrated and irritated.

Yes, the library is hidden, but easy to get to.  The problem seems to be that Yosemite is preventing Photoshop from seeing the profile that has been added to the folder.  Here is a picture showing that the new profile has indeed been added.

  • How do I install custom printer profiles in Mac os mountain lion. I can.t fine the icc profiles directory (if that's what it is).

How do I install custom printer profiles in Mac os mountain lion. I can't find the icc profiles directory (if that's what it is).

NOTE: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and press the Return key - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder. You'll need to do it again after each system update that's applied.

  • How to install ICC profiles in Lightroom

This is probably an easy question, but I didn't see an obvious reply in Google.  I use ICC profiles when I print from Photoshop, but they don't appear in Lightroom.  Is there an easy way to install all my profiles into lightroom?

    Jim,
Thanks!   I was scratching my head there for a moment, because that's how I install profiles in Photoshop. I couldn't figure out why they weren't showing up in Lightroom. It finally dawned on me that I had had to nuke and re-install Lightroom due to a persistent corrupt file. Apparently the profiles went away with the previous installation.  Thanks for your help!

  • Installing new icc profiles on an Imac using CS6

Can someone help, please, I am using CS6 on an Imac (new to mac) and I need to install some more icc profiles. I have tried unhiding the library/col sync/profiles folder and have installed them but cs6 print setup is still not showing them. I have also tried to drag them in to /library/Application Support/Adobe/ Colour/Profiles/recommended as well but still not showing up. Your assistance will be highly appreciated.

I should have said I am using Epson 3800 printer using mac OS X10.9.5 operating system.

  • Install additional ICC Profiles

I cannot find how to install ICC profiles other than the provided defaults of ProPhoto, Adobe RGB and Adobe sRGB. Can someone please tell me how to install additional ICC profiles.
    Thank you,
    Jim Palik

The Camera Calibration profiles (Adobe Standard, Camera Neutral, etc) are camera profiles developed by Adobe through their internal camera-calibration process for each new camera.  You can make your own Camera Calibration profiles with the DNG Profile Editor and a X-Rite Color Checker standard color target.
The ICC profiles installed on your system are output profiles developed by mostly others that are not related to your camera.  The internal profile LR uses for processing is a variant of the large ProPhotoRGB profile with a different gamma.  LR is not like Photoshop where you can change the work space profile if that’s what you mean.
