ICE Content.

Hi All,
I have recently implemented KM transports refering some blog. I am not able to c the Ice folder under Root in KM in QA and PRD. I achieved success when i performed the same in DEV Portals.
I have used the following steps to activatte the Ice folder under KM.
Goto System Administration >>System Configuration >> Knowledge Management >> Content Management >> Repository Managers  ……..Click on Show Advanced Options on the Right Top Page.  >> Content Exchange Repository
• Search for ICE repository there ……..Click on Show Advanced Options.
After you locate it, Deactivate the parameter “Hide in Root Folder”. And also make sure it is activated.
Take Cluster Restart.
PLease suggest what other things are necessary.

  • ICE - Content Transfer & Performance

    Hi,
We are implementing a Content Management System using KM on EP6SP14. We have a staging Portal to create the content, transfer it to Production Portal using ICE, and render it from there.
Issues - ICE does not provide 'On demand' PUSH. Secondly ICE performance might degarde when volume of content becomes too huge (my assumption).
Can you suggest any other technique for accompaishing this or have you used some other technique for similar design requirements.
    Rgds

Hi Sanjay Did u get any answer to ur problem as i also have problem with encoding problems and would like to change the encoding of the email message in the case when it is not specified with the email itself

  • ICE content exchange - Incomplete tranfers

    Dear all,
I have come across a rather strange system behavior in our Portal Installation. While trying to transfer KM content between
two of our Portal 7.00 SP21 instances, all the folders and files are transferred at first and then some of them are automatically
    deleted.
The method we are using to transfer the content is the ICE transfer (subscriber-syndicator). The offer from the syndicator
runs periodically on the subscriber instance (every 5 minutes). On the first run all the contents of the source path are
transfered to the subscriber but after a while certain files and folders disappear from the KM repository and are not
restored from the subsequent offer runs.
After checking the trace files I noticed that there are several entries like these: "HARD_REF: false OBJECT" and "Could not set all
    properties on resource ...".
Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?
    Kind Regards,
    Kontogianni Eleni

    Hi Lars
The ICE protocol caters for incremental updates of content. To keep the volume of data low, only deltas are transported when an update takes place. The syndicator records information on which subscriber has received which document. It also records the time when the document was received. This information is stored in the syndicator’s system in the document properties.
If you want to carry out an incremental update,  all  repositories that are referenced in an offer must support the application property service. If an offer contains a component that references a repository without an active application property service, the system carries out a full update of the entire offer.
When the system puts together an update package, it determines for each subscriber the documents that have been created, changed, or deleted since the last update. When a document is created or changed in the source repository, it is embedded in the ICE package. If a document has been deleted from the source repository, this information is transmitted to the subscriber, and the document is deleted accordingly from the target repository.

  • ICE exchange - Syndicator invalid URL

    Dear all,
I am facing a problem with the ICE content exchange between out porta linstallations. I am setting up a new Productive EP 7
    instance.
The system is the product of a system copy from the existing Productive Portal instance in our landscape.
After completing the system copy procedure, I was  trying to setup an ICE exchange between the two systems and faced the
    following problem.
While setting up the "Registered Syndicators" in the Subscriber system, whenever I try to save the syndicator data an "Invalid
    URL" error appears.
After following the instructions of note 883859, the problem still occurs.
Has anybody come across this error?
    Kind Regards,
    Kontogianni Eleni

    Hi Lorcan,
thank you for your reply.  The URL is FQDN but not a loadbalancer URL. There is no proxy or firewall in between.
The strange thing is that the communication between the two portals is established when pressing the "Get catalog"
button and the Syndicator returns the catalog without an error.
But when I try to save that data the error appears.
The offer subscription works and the data is tranferred between the systems but the error keeps appearing.
    Regards,
    Eleni

    Start with the troubleshooting basics:
    1. Repair Permissions using Disk Utility
    2. Delete the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. You'll need to reset your User options afterwards.
    3. Create a new account (systempreferences -> accounts) and see if the problem is repeated there. If it is, then a re-install of the app might be indicated. If it's not, then it's likely the app is okay and the problem is something in the main account.

  • 11gr2 crsd core dump during failover or start attempt on second node

    Hi,
I installed 11gr2 with ASM on one node (solaris SPARC). Then I added another node to this cluster (via addNode.sh script).
Than got strange error: If my first node is up, second node is started fine and run well. If I shutdown first node - crsd on second node dump to core and fails to restart. I get the same error if I try to start second node when the first one is down.
In the crsd.log I see the following:

    Hi,
Please check your disk attributes and permission of OCR/Voting and other ASM devices. The disk attribute should be changed to be shared among all nodes of cluster. It happened with us in 10.2.0.4 where disk was not shared and we were able to start crs from only one node at a time so please check disk attributes. Please see blog keyurmakwanacrs.blogspot.com for AIX which we faced. Not surle whether you've similar problem or not. We had 10.2.0.4 clusterware.
    thanks,
    Keyur

  • How can  I copy (9.3.1)Sharedservice another server.

    Hi friends,
I have to copy sharedservice to new server.
How can I do this issue.
How can I move quickly all users' account in shared service to new server's shared service.,
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Here the keyword is Content Exchange between servers.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/35/4cf72bfe18455e892fc53345f4f919/frameset.htm
I would suggest to use offline ICE Content Distribution as this is very simple, here you export all KM contents as zip file and import them on your destination server:

You have installed a standard SAP Enterprise Portal either locally on your personal PC or on a test server. Optionally you have installed SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio.
You have uninstalled older PDK versions completely with the “Archive Remover” tool and “Portal Content Studio”.
If you use MaxDB as Database, you have to deploy MaxDB JDBC Driver manually and register it at the portal. For more information see SAP Note 773401
    <b>Installation</b>
Import the Business Package for the Portal Development Kit into your portal installation.
The business package is delivered in SCA format and you have to use the Software Deployment Manager (SDM) to install it. For more information, see SAP Note 731386
Import the attached ICE transport package via the Content Management->Content Exchange->Package upload. Import the the file DeveloperContent.zip As a result you see the folder “DeveloperContent” under the KM repository documents.
    <b>Post- Installation Steps</b>
<b>Configure the Portal for the Netweaver Developer Cockpit</b>
The connector example iViews in the Portal Development Kit connect to SAP Backend System with the system alias PDK_R3_BACKEND.
To run these examples you must define a system object for a test SAP Backend System in your system landscape and assign the following aliases: PDK_R3_BACKEND
The JDBC example iViews use a JDBC database with the alias: LocalMaxDB
To run these examples you must configure the system object LocalMaxDB or define a new one and add in your system landscape and assign the following aliases: LocalMaxDB.
The Dummy Object Based Navigation Examples (without real Backend connection) require that you the System Alias PDKDummySystem to the System PDKDummySystem
According to your authentication policy you also have to maintain Usermapping and afterwards you have to configure Distributed Query Engine (DQE) for the systems. See SAP help portal and tutorial forfurther information.
The System Landscape Directory SLD has to be maintained for the WebDynpro Examples which require a backend connection. See Web Dynpro Tutorials for details.
For more information on how to create system objects and assigning aliases, see Enterprise Portal Administration Guide 6.0->Portal Platform->System Administration->System Landscape->System Landscape Editor.
To ensure that you have the permission to run all the applications in the business package, you must be assigned to the following portal roles:
    Role ID - Purpose
Super Administrator - for all Portal operations and permissions
    Administrator - Optional
    com.sap.pct.pdk.JavaDeveloper - The NDC role
ContentManager (optional)- For importing ice content.
<b>Restart Server or iView Runtime Container</b>
This is recommended to deploy all portal archives. Known SDM limitation in NW04.
<b>Authentication of WebDynpro Content Administrator and SLD</b>
WebDynpro Content Administrator and System Landscape Directory need a SAP WebAS Java Server Administrator authentication. Usually the portal administrator is not assigned to the Java Server role Administrator so username and password with the correct permissions for these iViews have to be provided.
<b>Create user in SAP Backend System</b>
The example iViews connect to the SAP System using the username you are currently logged on to the portal. You must create a user in the SAP System with the same user ID as your portal user or define any user mapped to the portal user via usermapping.
Portal users accessing an SAP System via remote function call (RFC) must have a user or be mapped to a user in the SAP System with the following authorizations.
Authorization object S_RFC with the following field values:
    ACTVT: 16
    RFC_TYPE: FUGR
RFC_NAME: RFC1, RSAN, SDIF, SDIFRUNTIME, SDWZ, SKBW, SPR4, SPRT, SRFC, SSCV, SURL, SUSO, SUSW, SU_USER, SWOR, SYST, SYSU
<b>The following authorization is only necessary for Drag&Relate:</b>
Authorization object S_TCODE with the following field value:
    TCD: SPO1

  • Problems installing  PDK 6.0 sp12

    Hi
    I installed J2EE 6.40 on SAP MaxDB,
Portal SP12, but NOT KM/CM and Trex.
Now I would like to install the PDK 6.0 sp12.
I read the installation guide carefully and did the following:
    1) not installed JDBC Driver for MaxDB as I have SP12
(has only to be done from sp3 - sp11)
    2) imported with sdm the file pdkcontent6.0.12.0.sca
(but got some error referencing km...can't remember
        exact message)
    3) try to install DeveloperContent.zip with import utility
in system administration -> transport -> import from
       client.
Get always an error that the zip file is not correct..
    4) Linked my portal user to the specified java
       developer role.
In the portal I get only get about 1/4 of the
all development content (compared to earlier versions).
       And:
       many errors like:
An exception occurred while processing a request for:
       iView : N/A
       Component Name : N/A
       iView not found: com.sap.km.cm.docs.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanx and regards
    Paul

  • Ice_service run amok?

Can anyone explain why practically every file in our km "documents" repository shows that it was modified by "ice_service"? If you perform an offline export, does the km change the "modified by" property of a file?

    Dear Eric,
This happens if you are using online Ice Transfer,
For Offline Ice Content Exchange method this won't happen and modified by property will remain unchanged.
Basically ice_service is a service user used to transfer contents from one server to other server (for Ice online exchange scenario)

  • Problem in creation date while transporting KM content through ICE offline

The problem that I am facing is we transported the KM content successfully, but the problem is for some of the files the creation date is changed to the  current date. Is there any way to get those dates.
Points will be awarded for helpfull answers

    Hi Raghu,
you might want to have a look at SAP Note 883859.
It shows you what are the prerequisites to be able to transport the some special properties like the ones you have mentioned with ICE.
As you can see there, it is not possible to transport them through an offline transport.
If you do an online transport on NW04 SPS15 Patch 4 and higher, and using a target repository that supports this feature, you should have no problem also transporting those properties.
Here the link to the SAP Help information for online ICE transport: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/35/4cf72bfe18455e892fc53345f4f919/frameset.htm
    Hope this helps,

  • ICE adds "xml" extension to transported content

    Hi all,
We migrate KM content from EP6 to EP7. We use standard repository "/documents".
When we transport documents the target portal identify them as xml files and doesn't open them.
    See snapshot: http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/1756/65621006tj1.jpg
    For example:
    1.doc --> 1.doc.xml
    2.xls --> 2.xls.xml
    3.tif --> 3..tif.xml
If we'll try to open a document with "save as" instead of clicking it, it will work (it the "save as" we'll save it with the correct extension) so content is not corrupted.
    Please help,
    Thanks,
    Omri

    Hi,
i tried to do offline transport, then I opened the 'fullupdate.zip' file and it appears that file type is wrongly set to XML:
    <ice-item item-id="/documents/Committees/10/file.TIF" name="wcm-acls" content-type="text/xml" content-transfer-encoding="base64">
How do I fix it? (it this example the mime type should be image/tiff (I would like to fix it globally for all file types).
    Thanks,
    Omri
