ICE for room to room content transfer

Hi,
We are currently on EP6.0 SP10.
We are about to upgrade to EP7.0. Quite alot of collaboration rooms
are there with lot of content like documents etc. So we are planning to transfer
all that content to the new portal. I have heard that transport of rooms as a whole is not possible. They would have to be manually created again.
But it also said that content transfer is possible using webdav or ICE.
I tried using ICE online transfer for that but the target rooms are not getting the
contents properly. Is this actually possible, does anyone know the actual procedure.
PS: <i>Have already gone through the help links</i>
Rgrds

Hi Vijay,
I had faced the problem with the room id of destination room.
Then nothing gets transferred properly.
>><i>We can transport the content from the folder "room_extensions" and manually move to the specified contents in the target portal room</i>
Could you pls clarify what you mean by this, because room extensions
contains a folder heirarchy ie cm_stores->documents->workspaces.
That contains quite a lot of folders with the same workspace name ,ie documents
pertaining to different rooms. So transporting the content from the appropriate folder is quite hard to point out.
Also our source portal will be a EP6.0 SP10 and target a new EP7.0 installation
wher we wnat to have the old rooms content.

  • ICE - Content Transfer & Performance

    Hi,
We are implementing a Content Management System using KM on EP6SP14. We have a staging Portal to create the content, transfer it to Production Portal using ICE, and render it from there.
Issues - ICE does not provide 'On demand' PUSH. Secondly ICE performance might degarde when volume of content becomes too huge (my assumption).
Can you suggest any other technique for accompaishing this or have you used some other technique for similar design requirements.

  • View Generated workset for a Collaboration Room

I am aware that a workset gets created under a folder with a unique id for each collaboration room that is created.
How can I view this workset and the iViews that are created on it?
Example:  In this folder is a workset.
    pcd:portal_content/com.sap.ip.collaboration/Rooms/b004fe38-9621-2a10-2fb9-ac627d60092a/workset
How can I view it's contents?

You are correct about the browse into function for normal worksets and pages and iViews.
However, this doesn't work for the worksets generated for collaboration rooms.
    Thank you for your input.

  • SX20 and SX10 best practices for small conference rooms using built in Display Speakers

    Hi,
Im planning to deploy some small meeting rooms using SX10 and SX20 codecs, I was wondering if someone could give me some key points to consider:
    1. Display recommendation, nice built in speakers, low delay (goog performance with codec echo canceller) I wish to use a 60 - 70 inch Led TV (not yet defined which brand and model)  I would like to receive some feedback about nice performance displays with nice audio and echo cancellation performance based on your experience.
    2. What would be the drawbacks of using SX10 and SX20 in larger meeting rooms maybe 10 or 12 people?
    3. When to use external microphone? or when is recommended to use only  internal microphone?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Best Regards,  have a nice day!

Pretty well any modern display should work well - different people are going to have different ideas about whether the speakers are any good or not, so you'll have to listen to a few yourself and make up your mid what you think is "better".  The echo cancellation can be tweaked manually on the codec to suit the display if required (rather than leaving it on the "auto" setting which, in our installations, has caused more troubles than it's worth).
The main drawback of using the SX10, or the cheaper of the range of the SX20s, is the camera and the amount of zoom.  In a larger room, you're not going to get a good close up view with a 2.5x camera.  I'd suggest for a bigger room, you look at the 12x cameras.
As a general rule - use additional microphone(s) when you can't get someone within a 3m radius one of the other microphones.  So in a larger room, you may need many.

  • SensMe "Content Transfer" on PC for USB

    Hey Everyone,
I have a DSX-S310BTX coming my way and I'm REALLY excited about it! While waiting for it to arrive, I decided to get a head start on getting the USB stick I plan to use in it up to speed. It's a generic 32 GB USB stick drive.
I've downloaded and installed the latest version of the "Content Transfer" software used to turn on the SensMe features. My computer system has two hard drives: A small SSD system drive (C with about 10G free and a large normal hard drive for storage with about 140G free. I've launched "Content Transfer", registered the USB drive, grabbed about 20G of music, drug it over to "Content Transfer" and it starts doing its thing rather nicely...
...Until slowly but surely the 10G of free space on my system drive goes to 0 and then the program crashes. It turns out that the "Content Transfer" program is making lots of large .DAT cache files in "C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Sony Corporation\Content Transfer" and filling up the system drive. If I delete all the DAT files and start over, the software seems to nicely pick up where it left off until once again the system drive fills up and crashes the program. As you can probably guess, this is rather annoying.
My question is simply this: Is there a way to either A) tell the "Content Transfer" software to cache the .DAT files in a different spot (like my regular drive with lots of free space) or B) tell the software to use 1GB of cache space and chill out until it's done doing the transfer for that 1GB stack of files and then continue?
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks again and have a great day!! ^_^
    Kris.

    Thank you for your post.
It's not changeable in the software's settings and I've also checked the system registry and for any ini or inf files that might point the Content Transfer software to the temporary location however it doesn't appear to be set that way. So it appears the location of the temporary files cannot be changed unfortunately.

  • TV Recommendation For Bright Living Room

Despite my wife's displeasure with my pursuit of another television, I need a recommendation for one 65" or larger that would work for my living room that has several windows.  The 65" Panasonic Plasma I currently have works great during hours of darkness, but during the day all I see are reflections.  I plan on moving that one into my bedroom.  Any thoughts?

I have a 46" Sony LED TV located in my bright living room. There are many windows on 2 opposite walls that face NE and SW, with lots of sunlight. But the light never reflects on the screen. Even at night, when the overhead light is on in the nearby dining room. That light doesn't reflect in the screen, or have any type of negative impact on the picture.
I previously had an old Tube Type Sony TV in the same location. Which was not worth watching during daylight hours because of too much light being reflected on the screen.
For a bright room. LED is probably your best bet.
    Good Luck

  • New Mini for the living room

Ive been seriously considering buying another Mini for my living room. I have a spare LCD, and I have a new Pro keyboard and mighty mouse on the way so my current mouse and keyboard can be reused for the new system. Basically I'm looking at getting a similar Mini to what i have now just with wireless so I can setup a network. I haven't done that before, seeing the network interface in OSX it doesnt seem too tough to setup. Anything else I should consider? Should I just wait for the intel stuff to come out? I think even if the intel stuff comes out soon I would probably just buy the same thing hoping there is some kind of closeout sale, because my current Mini has been great to me so far and Im just looking for something stable for browsing and productivity stuff.

    BBlades-
My mantra is basically buy what you want when you need it. No matter what you buy today, then "next best thing" is always right around the corner waiting. Those intel babies may be right around the corner, and then again, they might not.
I recently purchased a refurbished mini to use in my Living Room for the same purposes as you described. It has been on 24/7 for over a month and has had absolutely no problems.
It does take a bit of work to set up wireless. If you use the Apple Airport products the process is even easier. You can always find a trmendous amount of help in these discussion boards.
    Good Luck!

  • Details of coordinators for all the rooms??

    Hi All,
I am new to collaboration..I have been trying to get the details (like name) about the coordinators of all the rooms..Then I have to display the coordinator name for all the rooms in the collaboration room directory..
I can see the coordinators allotted from room-admin page. Is there anyway to get the req. details for all the rooms and show it then...Plz help me...
    Regards,
    Udit

    Hi Udit,
You can retrieve all rooms by http://help.sap.com/javadocs/NW04/current/km/com/sap/ip/collaboration/room/api/IRooms.html#getRoomsWithPrivacy(RoomPrivacyType) (with the different privacy types), and then for each room call getRoomInfo()  (http://help.sap.com/javadocs/NW04/current/km/com/sap/ip/collaboration/room/api/IRoom.html#getRoomInfo()), from this call getOwnerId() (http://help.sap.com/javadocs/NW04/current/km/com/sap/ip/collaboration/room/api/IRoomInfoReader.html#getOwnerId()).
Then you can get the owner via http://help.sap.com/javadocs/NW04S/current/se/com/sap/security/api/IUserFactory.html#getUser(java.lang.String) and from this, you can ask any details you want.
    Hope it helps

  • Wi-Fi coverage for a specific room (Concrete Pillars)

    Hello,
I have the following room to cover with wifi coverage. There are 10 concrete pillars in the room. Can you please advice which Cisco APs and antennas will provide an optimal solution for covering this room.
    Thanks!

    Hello,
I have no idea from what country you are from, however, in Australia our "installation" cost is very expensive.
In both wireless jobs I've been, the consensus has been to have-more-than-less.  This is just one reason.   You can, for budget reason, verify my recommended numbers by getting a wireless site survey done.   Or you put the desired number of AP you think this area needs and verify.  If it's not enough, then you can add some more.  Where I work, I'd like to get things done once.  I hate going back and re-visiting every site and re-adjusting each AP location because of lack of signal.
Another reason is redundancy:  If one of your AP has failed, then the wireless LAN controller (WLC) could potentially increase the transmission power of the nearby AP to make up for the loss.  This feature is called coverage hole detection and is enabled, by default, in the WLC.
This is just my opinion, but one thing I am wary about showrooms, is the amount of potential clients.  Recent studies have shown that each wireless visitor can potentially carry 2.5 to 3.5 wireless devices at any given time.  Ouch!   That's alot!  This brings the complexity that not every wireless devices (or wireless client) behaves.  Some client likes to associate to an AP far-far-way even though there's an right above you.
By the way, out of curiousity, will your guest wireless go straight to the internet?  If so, what's your switch infrastructure like and what's your internet bandwidth like?

Do you documents contain an XML Declaration like this at the top?
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-2"?>
If not, then they need to. The XML 1.0 specification says that if an XML declaration is not present, the processor must default to assume its in UTF-8 encoding.
