ICE-In Case of Emergency

Can you put the "ICE" ( In Case of Emergency), acronym on the iphone 5?

Thanks for the replies.  Maybe I should claifiy.  I am refering to the national campaign that enables emergency medical personal, police, etc  to be able to contact your family or whoever, in case of an emergency.  When your phone is locked, someone is able to press the "ICE", In Case of Emergency, button which gives one or more of your contacts name and number, that you pre-determine, to be contacted  in case of an emergency.  I work in an Hospital's ER and it is very helpful when people are brought in unconscious without id.   It was simple to find on my old phone but apparently the I-phone does not have it or I  just can't  find it.

you can now set up an Emergency Contact in 'Medical ID' in the Healh app. When someone goes to the lock screen and switched to the Emergency call, they can click on the link Medical ID and then contact your emergency person. It also lists your age, allergies, and illnesses if you need it to.

  • Is there a way to put an ICE (In Case of Emergency) entry that is available without unlocking the iPhone?

I am thinking that it would be a real enhancement (although I hope I would never actually need it) to have an ICE entry that is available without unlocking my phone. I use a passcode on my phone so if I were incapacitated in some way it would be good if emergency responders could get to my ICE entry. Ideally it would also have a place to list meds that I take and any important medical conditions that might be relevant. Obviously, not everyone would want to list this stuff in a way that could be access by unauthorized people, but many (maybe most) people would really benefit from it. For example, if I had high blood pressure and was taking meds for it, that might be sometheng that an EMT or ER Doctor might want to know before treating me. Lots of people wear medical id tags but this would be better, I think.

You could put an ICE number on your Lock Screen Wallpaper.  The finder could then call that number from another phone.
I have this on my Lock Screen Wallpaper... "This iPhone belongs to xxxx xxxx.  If found, please call xxx-xxx-xxxx".  I created it using the Notes app, took a screenshot and then selected that as my wallpaper.

  • Is there a way to access an "ICE" (in case of emergency) phone number when the phone is locked?

Or is 911 in the US the only option to make an emergency call?

the notes app is certainly an easy way to go - the advantage to an app like EmercenAid is you can store other contacts, including your Doctor information, allergies, medical consition and history and any medications you take in the app - so if an emeergency worker opens the app they have access to valuable informaton about you

  • In Case of Emergency (ICE) access

I have some ICE, In Case of Emergency numbers in my iPhone for the occasion where I might be incapacitated and first responders need to contact one of them.  How can first responders access these numbers on my phone if it is locked with a passcode.  Seems this defeats the purpose of the contacts.  Maybe there is a formal way to enter ICE numbers.  I know I can call 911 from a locked phone but what about ICE?

There are a lot of third party apps - some of them are even free - that will modify your current wallpaper image with your emergency information. That way, even if the EMT or whoever it is comes to your rescue, even if they don't know how to get to the built in medical card, then you still have your most vital emergency info on your lock screen and it is still available.
You don't have to resort to a Notes app screenshot!!!
Just search for "In case of emergency" on the app store.
I of course have my favorite.

  • In case of emergency (ICE) number should be directly accessable from lock

I've submitted this into the iPhone feedback... how do you think this should be implemented?
    ==
At this moment there is no way to direct access a 'In case of emergency' ICE or see business owner message (like 'this iphone is property of') on the lock-screen.
If this would be present, a lost iphone can be traced back to the owner more easly.
If this would be present, a the ICE-phonenumbers of a iphone user that for example has a hart-attack can be informed fast, saving possible lifes if medication is needed.

I use the Wallpaper Maker Pro app to add text to the wallpaper I use on my lock screen. That app allows you to create a wallpaper with any text you'd like it to read. I myself have my name and contact information in case my phone is lost. Not that anyone would return a lost iPhone...but you never know. You can also put your emergency contact info as your text...or whatever you would like. The "Wallpaper Maker Pro" app can be found in the iTunes store.

  • In Case of Emergency or short ICE

    Hello,
i've got one question. Is it possible to add an Button on the iPhone when it's locked by PIN Named ICE or "In Emergency"? The reason of this question is the follow. You've got a crash with your car, then the Emergency or anyone come to help you but you can't speak because you're powerless, of course the first call is the emergency call but I think it's also important that your family knows whats happend. But your phone is locked also nobody could see a number. Here begins my idea if you push now the Button ICE your phone call a number which you've entred before. Perhaps it's also interessting to see the name and the adress if the Person have entred this before. This system based on this article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Incase_ofemergency) and it's not only in USA. We in Germany have the same project for our Medics. Pherhaps it's an good idea and you could realize this.
    Yours sincerly,

Google Translation from German to English:
    Good day,
I have a question, I would be interested to know whether it is possible to create a button on the iPhone to notify in an emergency the family. Imagine, you have your iPhone locked with a PIN and they are not in awareness, now is a first responder and is an emergency call. Having sold on this, he could still notify your familly and learn important information about you. The kidney, however, would only function if no PIN was set up. This little button you could go and have a pre-defined phone number directly from the iPhone. The first responders would not even know your PIN. This project is not only in the U.S. but also in Germany at the familly be notified as soon as possible. A Wikipedia article I have outlined above are in my translation. Perhaps this is indeed a good idea and will relisiert some point, Apple or other manufacturers App.
    Yours sincerely,
    Marcusg562
P.S.: Sorry for my bad English

No, it is not possible for the user or a 3rd party app to do this, or create any function for the lock screen. Only Apple could do this in a future OS release - you can suggest it here:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
However, if you have an iPhone 3GS, you can use voice control with a lock screen if you have this enabled in the Settings. You could create a Contacts entry for "ICE" and call it by voice by pressing the home button until the Voice Control prompt is heard.

  • New phone and no In Case of Emergency (ICE) feature

Just upgraded from the Pantech Breakout to the Razr M and there is no ICE feature in the contact list. I thought this was now standard on all phones? Has this been removed in Android 4.1?

By George, you're right. I checked my Razr M and then my Razr Maxx, which still has ICS, Razr M has no ICE, but the Razr Maxx does. I guess it was removed in Jelly Bean. This is something that they should put back in.

  • Why is there no way to create an I.C.E (in case of emergency) list that comes up before you sign in?

On lots of other phones there is a way to have an ICE list that comes up in case something happens and someone needs to call a relative. An example would be like if you got in a crash and you had no identification on you and they needed to call someone to come to the hospital. I feel like this is something kind of important that should be addressed.

Put your emergency contacts in a note using the Notes app. Take a screen shot of the note by tapping the Home and power buttons at the same time. Use that note as your lockscreen wallpaper.

  • Need to dial 5 extensions at the same time in case of emergency

Hi, our company uses Communications Manager 8.6.2 and has a requirement which I haven't been able to fill using normal methods.
We need to call 5 mobile numbers at the same time when an emergency exists at our location.  Only one of the 5 called numbers has to respond to the call for help in our 3 km long, 2 kilometer wide company site.
Thought 1 line number with remote destinations would work but this doesn't seem to handle multiple mobile numbers well. Strangely, it doesn't ring all lines at the same time. It will ring max 2 mobile phones at the same time in our test. There were enough free lines on the PMX to dial out to all phones during the test period.
Doesn anyone have this situation and how did you handle it?
    Thanks,
    Randy

Hi,  Thanks for the quick responce,  unfortunately we dont have contact center installed. Actually we would like one DN number for these 5 people, because these people are continually moving around their respective areas, there is no physical local endpoint.
When the number is dialed it should ring out to the 5 mobile numbers, when one answers the others should stop ringing.
We could in theory install the uccx solution but this will cost some time to get up and running and at present we do not have any additional need for uccx.

  • Contact in case of emergency

Hello. in Spain was a campaign to provide the emergency services to contact a family member of a person who had had an accident and remain unconscious.
consisted of putting your contact AA letters in front of his name, that so, when emergency services agree to contacts, was the first person to appear.
the problem is that with the application of localization requires iPhone lock phone password and so it is impossible to access your contacts. so if these unconscious, emergency services puden not call your emergency contact.
I believe that Apple should take this into account and provide an option so that when the phone is locked to aceder your emergency contact and ike is the ability to call SOS.

Already been done. Look carefully at the Health App which is part of iOS 8. What you seek/suggest is already there. You can put an emergency contact in the app which will be visible if the phone is locked.

  • In case of emergency, how does someone access my contacts when my phone is locked?

I have an iphone 5 and during CPR training it dawned on me that there was no way for anyone, other than me, to access my emergency contacts if I was in an accident.
Is there a way to do this?

I kind of like the lock screen idea though - they do not need to know anything about the make/model of the device, just swipe to unlock and the info is right there.
Although I also always wear a medicalert neck pendant and I'd encourage anyone with a known serious or chronic medical condition to use medicalert and wear the id (calling their toll free number will get a first responder all sorts of information if needed).
If you think of a better way, or just an alternate way to handle it, submit your feedback to Apple
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/
Since they control the core features of iOS, this is something they could possible add to a future iOS release (maybe a "special" group in Contacts that could be set to show on the swipe, while everything else remains locked?).

  • Lollipop 5.0.2 - ICE - Use existing contacts - Contact picture bug???

    Possible bug!
Contacts -> ICE - In Case of Emergency -> Use existing contacts
    Contact images are cut off.
    Spoiler (Highlight to read)

I have not noticed this before, I have the same localization problem..
Not so bad if its only wen adding ICE contact. I'm glad is not in the main contact app..

  • Emergency Numbers - suggestion for iPhone engineers

I can't find a forum to make suggestions for iPhone improvements - this seems the best choice - hopefully Apple engineers browse this too.
When the iPhone is locked and password protection is on (required by some companies who allow corporate mail to be received on the iPhone), no one can get to the Contacts list on the phone. I would strongly suggest that Apple has an icon for an "Emergency" phone number that can be dialled without having to enter a password.
I believe that emergency personnel look for an "ICE" (In Case of Emergency) phone number to call if the bearer of the phone is incapacitated. If the phone is locked this can't be done.
Hence, it makes sense to have an ICON that allows an emergency phone number to be on the screen where the user types in the password. In case of an emergency, someone can move the slider to the right and unlock the phone. However, since they don't know the password, they can tap this new Emergency Icon to call some number.
If the iPhone is lost and falls into the hands of someone honest, then this is also a way for that person to contact the Emergency Number to return the iPhone to its rightful owner.

You can call "any" number - true.
However, if there is an accident what an emergency personnel needs to do is to call a person like a spouse or a parent. These numbers are in the Contacts list, but the contact list is not visible until you enter a passcode.
So what I am suggesting is that Apple allows an "Call in case of Emergency" button that can be programmed by the user to contain a phone number. Now, this number can be called without having to enter a passcode.
    Thanks for the link ..

  • Number appearing on phone as ICE

recently bought hubby a 3720 and myself a 5800, have played with the phones a bit working out certain features that were new to us.
Here's the problem we had today I rang hubby, I was having car trouble he didnt answer, now previously my number came up with my name, but today it listed my number as ICE (in case of emergency which has my number), my phone battery discharged so when my hubby checked his phone he was worried as my number came up as ICE and he couldnt get a hold of me. I wasnt at work because the school had called and I had to pick our child up.
We are long time Nokia users and have never had any of our prevous models show our numbers as ICE

    Hello ,
Thank you for posting your question on the AT&T Community Forums; I would be happy to answer your question!
If you block a number from calling you, that phone number should not be displayed on your bill.
I would like to add that any previous history of the number calling before being blocked would not be removed from past logs.
    Thank you,
    Charise
