IChat freezes AS SOON AS IT'S OPENED

I have read a million posts online of people having problems with video/audio chat. I can't even get that far. My iChat freezes (spinning the rainbow pinwheel in my face) once the buddy list appears. Nothing is clickable on it and half the time it shows up with no one online. I have to force quit everytime---I tried clicking from the applications menu instead of the dock, I don't have sharing on...iChat and pretty much EVERYTHING worked great on Tiger, and all I've seen from Leopard so far is this problem, some cosmetic changes, and that everything seems to run a tad slower...this machine was over $2,500--no reason for Leopard to cause any problems when it's meant for the later generation Macs, right?

And your router is set up to allow some DHCP IPs and some Static ones ?
A Static Setting will almost certainly need the DNS server info.
Personally for iChat I would make sure any setting had them.

THe only solution to not losing your photos forever is a good backup - without one something will happen and you will lose your photos and all other files - do you have one (or more)?
what version of iPhoto do you have?
try Back up your iPhoto library, Depress and hold the option (alt) and command keys and launch iPhoto - rebuild your iPhoto library database

I already reset the iphone to its factory settings and erase all contents but still the browsing speed freezes or not searching at all. Sometimes it will work and fast but then the problem uccors every now and then. Iv'e been using iphone 4 for two years and I still have it and works fine compared to this IPHONE 4S.

Settings → scroll down to Safari → in Safari settings, I selected both Clear History and Clear Cookies and Data.
IF that does not work -
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Finally - if problem still present -
Go to Settings>General>Reset
Reset the network settings - you will need to add the password of your home WiFi in your phone once more
The device should turn itself off & back on then go into Settings>Wifi and join your network

Crystal Reports freezes every time I try to open a report. I feel like it has something to do with trying to locate the default printer, but Im not certain. Crystal Reports opens just fine,but the moment I try to open any report it just hangs. Please help!

My problem is very similar to this person's. I have 2 laptops with CR XI installed (same problem from original R2 through SP 5). The old laptop is an IBM Thinkpad R51. The new one is an HP Elitebook 6930p. Both have the exact same software and versions of Win XP and network security.
If I try to open a report that has an "invalid printer" selected, it will open in the old IBM (with the message, 'This report uses an invalid printer. The default printer will be used instead'), but on the new HP, it freezes and I have to do a CtlAltDel to get out.
I've tried everything Don Williams suggested, but the only thing that is logged in Admin Tools when this happens is a Security/Privilege Request" with no errors.
Clearly, when CR in the HP looks for the printer selected in the report and doesn't find it, that causes CR to freeze.
Any idea what difference between the 2 machines could cause this?
This is a royal pain, because I can only be on one computer at a time.

Do the following:
Make sure you are signed into iMessage and FaceTime with your current ID. If they are signed into the old ID, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your current ID.
Then temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. (You should not have to verify the old email account so it doesn’t matter if you no longer have access to it.) Now go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Find My iDevice and enter your current password when prompted (even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID). Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out (or Delete Account if you are not running iOS 8) and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in with your current iCloud ID and password (your data will download back to your device).

Also try turning Off Face Time
Open Face Time
Go to the Preferences
Set it to Off.
Also make sure your router has the Time and Date/Time Zone set as this upsets Face Time which in turn upsets IChat

My dock(Mac) freezes occasionally while Photoshop CC Is open.

My OS dock mouse over animation freezes sometimes while Photoshop CC Is open. (Mac) Cause? solution? The dock itself is still functional, just the mouse over animation stops working.

Photoshop can't interfere with the Dock process. It could be system paging slowing everything down, or a bug in the Dock code.

Freeze or stall when trying to open a new internet page

My Mac has started to freeze or stall when trying to open a new page. It seems to have gotten worse lately. Is it being caused by my internet provider or something in the Mac?

Which browser & version are you using? If Safari, post in their forum area. If 3rd party, post in their forums on their website.
Call your ISP to determine if the issue is on their end.
It is very difficult to offer troubleshooting suggestions when the "os version" you are using is unknown as each os has their own troubleshooting solutions.

RoboHelp 8 Freezes When Trying to Use Any Open Dialog

The title pretty well says it all. RoboHelp freezes when I try to use Open... from the Starter screen or File>Open or any other control that accesses the open dialog (i.e., the open/explore button on the Content Settings tab in the FrameMaker Document Settings dialog). I have to end the process in the Task Manager and restart RoboHelp. (Fortunately, the Recent Projects links work – except for Open..., of course.)
I discovered this when I had to restore links to moved FrameMaker documents. My installation is TCS2 running on Windows 7 32-bit; all updates to all TCS2 components and Windows 7 have been installed.
I tried an in-place reinstall of RoboHelp, but that didn't make any difference.
Any ideas?

Hi John and welcome to the RH community.
I'd check that you have both of the 8.0.1 and 8.0.2 updates installed. Also ensure your RH source files are not located on a network drive. Bare in mind that whilst some users manage to run RH under Windows 7, others have reported problems. You should also note that Windows 7 is not an officially supported platform for RH usage.

ICHAT FREEZING - STILL NO FIX?

I really can't believe Apple hasn't posted a solution to this. PLEASE don't post a solution saying to limit the Quicktime or iChat bandwith, it does NOT work.
The same problem, that thousands of us have been having, is that iChat video freezes after about 1 minute into a video chat while the audio remains fine. It then needs to be force quitted.
Never have I been so disappointed in Apple. I have to rely on Skype for my video chat application.

I will be happy to connect to you. I am having this problem as are many others. I have used iChat for several years and have been very pleased with it. Suddenly after the latest OS and the latest QuickTime updates, the freezing problem appeared. The video freezes after a minute or two while the audio continues. After ending a chat, iChat freezes and a Force Quit is required.
As the Holiday season approaches, it is important to me that this problem be fixed. I don't know how many people are having this problem, but there are over one hundred posts on this topic on this board. Thank you for any help you can give us.

OS9.2 freezes as soon as desktop loads on my Digital Audio

Recently, a couple of my friends have been giving away their G4 PowerMacs due to their age. Since I've never really had much experience with Macs, (I'm more of a linux/windows guy myself) I decided to take these machines off of their hands, in an effort to further my knowledge about computing history, and to potentially increase my productivity by not making it so darn tempting to play video games.
The machine in question is my G4 Digital Audio. The only specs that I'm aware of are that it has a 733 mhz processor and 512 mb of RAM. There is no Airport card installed and the internal battery (the one keeping the clock on) is dead. I wanted to turn this into a dedicated OS9 machine, so one my pals let me borrow his OS9.2 install disk, which let me succesfully reformat the hard drive and install the operating system. Everything was succesfull until I restarted the mahcine, where it would freeze as soon as the desktop fully loads. The system wouldn't completely freeze up, I was capable of moving the mouse around, but I cannot click on anything and the system clock is frozen. I was able to restart it with extensions, narrowing it down to a problem with one (or more) of the extensions or something wrong with the internal battery.
I'll try to narrow down which extension(s) cause the problem, but if I can't manage to solve the problem I have no idea what else could cause this to happen. Could the dead battery have anything to do with this?

It would be a good thing to replace the internal battery; a too-weak or dead one can cause booting irregularities. You can get a replacement at places like Radio Shack for about US$18, cheaper on-line.
You say you used a loaned OS 9.2 install CD. If you mean a gray or bue-label OS 9.2 Software Install CD, that disk would not be valid for a G4 DA model; it may not have been able to install the software that is needed by the hardware on your model.
The G4 DA models came with a model-specific version of OS 9.1 (a retail OS 9.1 Install CD is not adequate), but can also use a retail (white label) OS 9.2.1 Install CD.
Will it boot successfully with Extensions Off? To try that, restart or boot, immediately press the Shift key, keep that held down until you get the message "Extensions Off". Althugh this allows the machine to boot, since most extensions are disabled (off) it presents a very limited system - no internet, no printing, etc. However, it is one way to check the hardware, and can verify that a problem may be caused by an extension conflict.
Freezing at the point that the desktop loads can be caused by several things other than an extension conflict.
Something in the Startup Items folder could be causing that. You can access that when booted with Extensions Off; you'll find that folder in the System Folder.
The Desktop file could be mangled. To replace that, start up holding the Shift key down, When you get the Extensions Off message, relese the Shift key and press both the Command and Option keys, keep them held down until you get a splash screen asking if you want to rebuild the desktop. OK that, and after that process has completed do a normal restart.
When you reformatted the hard drive, did you set the format as Mac OS Extended?

Apple Mail inbox "all" selected can't unselect. Tried quiting; tried restarting. Mail freezes then unfreezes. When going to View and clicking on Select, nothing opens, freezes. After 30 seconds, it opens up, everything in the inbox remains selected.

Try force quitting the Mail app:
Option+Command+Esc, then select Mail from the list. See if that helps.

IChat Freezes right when it opens so I can't do anything

Right when I click on iChat it freezes. Sometimes it will get as far as loading the name of my buddy groups. I don't have an insane about of buddies or anything though. It just started doing this today, I was trying to video chat but it didn't work so I tried to close iChat and re open it and now it will not open at all. I've read other related topics and many say about going into iChat preferences but I can't since it freezes right away. I've left it there once and it disconnected but it was still frozen. It seems to be making the rest of my computer slow sometimes too when it is open. Please help?

Hi
Looking at the log you've posted, I would suggest changing your Quicktime streaming speed to 1.5Mbps T1/Intranet/LAN rather than Automatic. Also make sure iChat>Preferences>Video>Bandwidth limit is None (unless Comcast, Road Runner or Verizon FIOS in which case use 500kbps). After any changes, remember to restart iChat.
Have you repaired permissions? Have you tried reinstalling iChat (using Combo updater to get back to current version of iChat)?
