Ok, I ran the Onyx maintenance program and now my iChat will not work. Actually numerous programs keep unexpectedly quitting, even safari. However, those crashes have started to diminish. What can I do to fix my iCHAT? Any help would be great.

I fixed it somehow. I think dumping the Kernel Cache fixed the iChat problem. My computer also doesn't crash anymore either.

IChat Internal Error when trying to change own Buddy Icon

On my son's iBook G4 with OS 10.4.5 and iChat AV 3.1.1, he gets an error when trying to insert some JPG photos for his own Buddy Icon. It says:
iChat Internal error! NSInvalidargumentexception: * -[NSCFArray addObject:] attempt to insert nil
Also where are all your recent pictures stored??? Upon searching iChat Recent Pictures on my HD, it see they should be User>Library>Images>iChat Recent Pictures. However upon tyring to open that fiel, I get a message saying, "The alias 'ichat Recent Pictures' could not be opened, because the original item cannot be found." I can select delete alias, fix alias or ok. Might this also relate to my problem?

Hi Michael,
I pointed you to that thread as the error message you posted is normally associated with either a spellcheck problem or something odd with the Me Card in the Address Book.
You can drag pics to the Recent Buddies folder but iChat will not see them.
Create a New Folder and call it iChat Recent Pictures
The alias should be removed.
You should now find that iChat will let you select a choice as a new Buddy Pic.
This is done by clicking on the current Buddy pica nad selecting the "Edit Picture" option.
Then "Choose".
Navigate to the Pic and then resize as require.
Use the "Set" button.
This will convert the pic to a jpeg 2000 copy of the original and the Recents.plist which is needed within the folder.
You should now be good to go.

IChat internal error: NS internal LN consistency exception

Hi there,
My wife is trying to set up iChat AV 2.1 on our home computer. (I am away from home just now). She has set up an AIM account.
When she opens iChat, she gets as far as the set up page where you are asked for your account details. When she enters her details- after selecting AIM as the account type, she gets this error message:
iChat internal error: NS internal LN consistency exception: Unknown property "gill" type "-1549840836"
And when she quits the application it says:
iChat internal error: invalid parameter not satisfying: aString!=nil
She is running OS 10.3.9 on a G4 Power Mac
Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks

Just to let you know, I sorted the problem with iChat in the end. When I got home I realised the problem was worse than I thought. I couldn't open the address book, and couldn't even open various folders in the application support folder relating to the problem. In the end, I just reinstalled Panther, and it works fine now. Don't know what had gone wrong, but I now know that updating permissions is a good idea whenever installing new software, so I'll be doing that from now on.

Strange new folder aliases after using Onyx

Greetings:
Shortly after using Onyx, I noticed three new folder aliases appearing in my top HD folder: "etc", "tmp", "var", which the window's drop-down menu shows belongs to a faded folder called "private". When I tried to trash the aliases I get requests for passwords that won't work. Any help would be appreciated.

Okay guys! I got rid of the peaky things pronto using Francine Schwieder's TextEdit method! Just type the name of the offending file on a line of its own in a plain text TextEdit file, save it as ".hidden" and save it in the base/root directory! Bam! Invisibles are gone! I don't understand why ordinary folks have to wade thru all this rocket science crap when such straight and simple solutions are out there! Guess it takes a sharp dame to come up with that logical idea!

Sim card error after using pandora

I'm getting frequent 'sim not installed' errors after using Pandora app. Anybody else having an issue like that??

I agree...start with the SIM card first...if that doesn't fix it then pop into the closest Apple Store...

Macbook Pro Won't Shut Down, Restart, or Logout after using Onyx.

Earlier this week I found that my macbook wouldn't shutdown, restart, or logout from the finder menu (or any other menu, such as Onyx or Software Update). The only way I could get it to restart was through Terminal. I tried every solution, but nothing would fix it. After backing everything up, and doing a clean reinstall, everything was fine. Then, when I used Onyx, I tried to install the Archives Preference pane and the Processor Preference pane. The window just sort of hung there not responding - and finally I had to force quit Onyx. Now my system is back to not shutting down, restarting, or being able to log out again. The good thing is that I think I've isolated the problem. The bad thing is that I have no idea how to fix it. I tried uninstalling Onyx, but that did nothing. I've used Onyx regularly and have never had any issues, and I can't seem to find anyone else with this problem.
Can anyone help? I'm sorry if this is the wrong forum for this topic. If there is a better forum for it, let me know and I can repost.
Another problem that I'm having is when I open iTunes, the dock icon comes up for about a second and crashes. I tried completely reinstalling iTunes, but that hasn't worked. Perhaps I missed something? BTW - everything else is operating just fine (i.e. Quicktime, etc.)

Run Disk Utility from your Mac install disc.
Insert your install disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
*(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel. It should say: Verified)*
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
When you are finished with DU, from the Menu Bar, select Utilities/Startup Manager.
Select your start up disk and click Restart
While you have the Disk Utility window open, look at the bottom of the window. Where you see Capacity and Available. *Make sure there is always 10% to 15% free disk space*
If you cannot boot from your install disc, try booting in Safe Mode
You do not need Onyx, especially not good for Snow Leoaprd. You can run cron tasks from the iStat Pro widget available here.

Adobe Reader 9/Mac OSX 10.5.4/Internal Error after installing

Just purchased a new iMac with OSX 10.5.4 installed. I have 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM. Acrobat Reader v8.x won't run, so downloaded and installed v9 from the official Adobe web site. When I attempt to launch Acrobat Reader 9 I get the message "An internal error has occurred." I cannot go any further or do anything else. I've downloaded Reader 9 several times but the same problem keeps happening. I also purchased a new MacBook and Reader 9 installs and runs on that machine without any problems. Anyone have any idea why this might be happening on my iMac? Without Acrobat Reader it can really be a drag trying to work with PDF's.

I then re-launched Reader just to check and all was fine.

Facetime Internal Error after Mountain Lion Upgrade

After upgrading to mountain lion on my mid 2011 imac I am recieving a facetime internal error. I tried the shutdown shift control option sequence and that fixed it for a few days but now the problem is back. Any suggestions on how to fix this would be appreciated.

1. Have the screen open where you have the Shift F2, you can manually run the query of the formatted search, it will sometimes give you more meaningful message.
Eg:
You have a formatted search query 'Query 1' which is saved in Tools> User Query> Query 1 attached to field DocTotal.
So, what you do is, instead of pressing Shift F2, you go to tools > User Query.> Query 1 to run it.
2. Another thing could be the field you used in the formula do not have the focus when you run it.
Eg: you use $[4.0.0] in the query.
When you press Shift F2, the field represents $[$4.0.0] do not have focus.

Here is the issue description. Our application uses Oracle Object Types and LIST. We deployed our application on QA environment which has Oracle 10g. Application runs fine...no issues. Now we moved to UAT. UAT environment is same as QA environment and DBA have created replica of QA database.
Now WAR file which works fine with QA database , somehow doesnt work with UAT database. Application throws following exception when code tries to call getArray() on java.sql.Array.
We tried to point UAT weblogic to QA database and it worked fine.....but when we point UAT weblogic to UAT database , we get following exception. So we know that this is a database issue.
DBA claims that QA env database and UAT env database are same.
Can anybody please tell me what wrong here? What setting is not done on UAT database which is done on QA?

Error Message Nbr CU400 - Internal error: find_charid_for_atinn using CU35

Why would CU35 throw internal error: find_charid_for_atinn? This is occurring in multiple KMAT models that use one common characteristic. One model is new the other models are existing.

The Configuration Modelers determined the problem causing this error was due to the value "1" missing from the Org on the characteristic in the class of the model. When this was added, the KMAT models runtime could be updated with tcode CU35.

Solution was to go into tcode CL02 and add the value "1" to the org area for the characteristic.

Internal Error when using a Cluster

I just started getting this error message when I try to use a 6-Core cluster:
An internal error occurred: NSException raised by 'NSPortTimeoutException', reason = 'connection timeout: did not receive reply'.
I have never had this problem before. I can compress without a problem if I select "This Computer" instead of the Cluster.
Any ideas? I guess I could try re-making the Cluster.

I had it set up for 6 of 8 cores. I have 10GB ram. It has been working perfectly for over a year. I haven't had any problems until today.

Virtual servers tab returns error after using jdk 1.4

Hi, I configured Iplanet 6.0SP5 to use SDK 1.4.1_02 and all apears to work, EXCEPT the "virtual servers" tab. When clicking this tab I receive "page cannot be displayed" errors. Additionally, the logfile reports the following (see below). Any ideas on what's going on here ?

Internal error while using Formatted Search

Hi
I am adding Assessable value in total amount at row level of sales document. For achieving so im using Shift +F2 on total amount field, which results in sum of assessable value and total amount. It is working properly in some of documents but throws message of internal error in some of the documents.
Im not able to understand that why error is coming in some of the documents?
