Ichat keeps saying my password is wrong

i sign into ichat and then 1 second later it says my password is wrong!

HI,
Is this an @me.com name you have created through iCloud ?
Are you trying to use it with a Version of iChat that is not iChat 6 ?
(iChat 6 contacts www.me.com at the same time as logging in to AIM which seems to verify the password to AIM which earlier versions do not do)
On the other hand if you have an @mac or @me.com name and the password is over 16 character you may alos have problems.
The AIM servers can only manage 16 characters max.
If an Older MobileMe @me.com name or an @mac.com name then use iForgot to change the password.
If it is iCloud then visit your iCloud page in Web Browser and change the password there.

  • ICal keeps saying my password is wrong

Ever since I upgraded to Snow Leopard, the iCal keeps saying my password is wrong.
And it keeps showing annoying prompts all day long
    What happened?
    How can I fix?

Password for what? Are you using MobileMe, or iCloud? If you were using MobileMe but have migrated to iCloud you will be unable to sync your calendar, apart from an unsupported hack as Snow Leopard is not compliant with iCloud's requirements.

My ipod touch won't connect to wifi at home, it use to work just fine, now it keeps telling me my password is wrong, but it can't be wrong because it is the same one I have always used. I also have an IPad2 that belongs to my daughter and it connects with our wifi at home with no problem.  But, why is my wifi telling me that my password is wrong.  I have tried everything, we have changed the pass word and that did not work.  We have have taken security off of our wifi and my ipod touch give me another message, but it won't connect to my wifi at home.  Please help... b/c the greatest thing for me is to be able to connect to wifi at home.
    thanks

I have even shut down my ipod touch to see if it fixes the lack of wifi connection at home but it keeps telling me my password is wrong.  I can connect everywhere else, but not at home.  Pls help my.. I need to connect at home.  Does it matter if we have othere decives like ipads connected to the same wifi.  Because we have an ipad2 and my ipod and up until 1 week ago, we had very little issues keeping both of our devices connected at home.  Eitherway the ipad2 is still working just fine on our home wifi, but my ipod touch keeps refuseing to accept the password.
Pls help, i am very frustrated and I have tried everything.

  • Keeps saying my Password is wrong when I know its not???

in mac mail it comes up with a box enter password for account ".mac"

Go to Keychain access and then delete the entry that is for your .mac account. After that, go back to Mail and try to log in again.

  • When i try to sign in to ichat it says my password is wrong

i keep trying to log into my ichat yet it keeps telling me the password or username is wrong.
i can log in to aol.com itself just fine.why isnt it working? and how can i make it work?

    Hi,
    Type of User/Screen Name ?
    Version of iChat ?
    Version of OS ?
AS the Name works at AOL/AIM web pages we have to presume the version in iChat is either a typo or that iChat does not have permission to use it.
Go to th Applications/Utilities folder and Open Keychain Access.
Find the iChat Name and double click it.
This should open a new panel
Put a tick in the password box  (Confirm to show by typing in your User Password for your Mac account and Allow Once)
Does the password shown match what you think it should be.
If Not then Edit it and close the window
If it does match then click the access Tab and check iChat is allowed to access it.

  • My Ichat wont run, i made an AIM account and it keeps saying my password is incorrect?

My Ichat wont run, i made an AIM account and it keeps saying my password is incorrect?

Sometimes the PW being wrong isn't a good clue, it could mean a typo in the username/email addy.

If the old ID is yours, and if your current ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • TS3988 iCloud keeps telling me password is wrong?

when logging in to ipad message says password is wrong even though I know it is correct and I get green ticks on login?

In the title of this thread you list "keeps telling me password is wrong in terminal"???
When you open terminal have you tried the command, without the quotes "dsenableroot"?  You must be logged in as a local admin to do this.
If you try this, terminal will ask you for your admin account password then you can enter a new password for root and verify the new password.  Exit terminal Log out and log  back in with username root and the password you put in for the root account when you were in terminal.
There is a definite problem, or actually a couple of problems, with the directory utility when trying to enable root from directory Utility / edit.   Going the dsenableroot in terminal clears these problems out.

  • Having purchased onetoone, i cannot book it,keeps saying invalid password

I have recently purchased the apple mac pro. At the same time I purchased the onetoone voucher which I was told I could book on line. Once home, I went onto the website to make arrangements, but found that I couldn't.It keeps saying invalid password. I have even changed my password, logged out and then logged back in to do it, but it still says the same. I am totally frustrated. I rang the apple store but was just put through to some automated service. After 25 minutes in a queue, I gave up. I wanted to save myself another trip to th Apple store, just to book the onetime. Can anyone advise me.....what am I doing wrong???

You probably need to call Apple directly in the morning.  They can help you with a password reset issue.

  • HT1430 Cannot send email from iPhone 4S ..it keeps saying smpt password is incorrect but it is correct and I receive email no problem

Cannot send email from iPhone...keeps saying smpt password is incorrect but it is correct.. I recieve email no problem

On my own, I discovered the following, which worked (one responder got the solution part correct for Google): For Yahoo, where I just use a standard login with no extra verification, I had to go into Yahoo and change my password. Once I did this, the new iPhone had no problem registering accepting my Yahoo account. I WAS, however, using the correct password and user name all along, for those who did not think that was the case. The problem is on the iPhone software side. For Google, I use a two step verification, and for that, one must go to Google Mail and obtain a specific, unique password, that is designed to work only on iPhones. Hope this helps anyone else with this dilemma.
