Ichat not supported on my macmini intel?

hi all..i tried to get ichat working on my macmini intel core duo 1.66....it starts and takes quite a while to login ( it eventually does after 2-3 minutes waiting for login), but under video/audio settings it says: your computer doesn't support video/audio ...i'm using external isight...anybody with any ideas? any other service using isight works fine ( i.e. yahoo, sightspeed )
thanks

I am using iChat with my macmini intel core duo 2.0 and it works great. I unfortunately couldn't find a iSight camera (that I could afford) so ended up using a cheap generic camera (image CCD). I also use an old JVC DV camera with iChat and that works as well. Login is a matter of seconds. I use AIM directory service (not .Mac). Which directory service are you using? I'll be happy to work with you on the various settings if that will help.

  • Just downloaded mavericks, now iPhoto won't load because of an error message that says "You can't open the application "IPhoto" because it is not supported on this type of Mac" . I have a 17" MacBook Pro, mid 2010 model running 2.53 GHz and Intel Core I5,

I just downloaded the new Mavericks operating sytem on my mid 2010 MacBook Pro, 17" 2.53GHz, Intel Core I5 machine. My IPhoto is no longer working at all, I'm getting an error message that says - "You Can't open the application "IPhoto" because it is not supported on this type of Mac". I also loaded Mavericks onto my other MacBook Pro 17", mid 2009 model and everything works fine. I would think that the newer Mac would easily work with IPhoto. Also, when I try to download from the App Store, it asks for my Apple ID and Password, I enter it, and then the little spinning color wheel just spins forever, with nothing ever happening. I tried downloading the IPhoto Upgrade but it never actually downloads, HELP!!!

What version of iPhoto do you have installed?  Is if one of the versions shown as not compatible in this screenshot?
If it is then go to the App Store and download iPhoto 9.5.  It will be free if you have an iPhoto 9 or later verson currently.

  • Handoff not supported, but it should! MacMini mid2011???

Hi, I tried to set up the handoff on a mac mini mid2011, and not works. The syspref does not show the checkbox.
there is an iPad and an iPhone paired, both has ios 8.1, and handoff and continuity enabled (the SMS-es shared perfectly, icloud drive works, etc)
all devices paired on BT as well. the handoff between the ios devices works
I read that mid2011 MacMini is supporting handoff, it requires BT4.0LE and the hw id 0x6
    http://mac-how-to.wonderhowto.com/how-to/find-out-if-your-mac-can-support-contin uitys-handoff-feature-0157357/
    Well, just check this screenshot:
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/pdiqkjg864s6guh/bug.png?dl=0
This said I have BT 4.0 LE, the LMP version is 0x6, and clearly said: handoff and instant hotspot not supported!
What a **** is this? Why not supported?
How could the SMS sharing and the call sharing works but handoff not?
    Please advise

    Hi Ábrahám Péter,
Handoff is supported on a Mac mini (Late 2012) and later. See this article -

  • Intel Graphics Processors Not Supported!?!?!?

So I read the Logic Studio system requirements and bought the new version for my Core 2 Duo white MacBook, since it fits the specs. I'm just about to install and I read the "Before You Install" doc.
It says about STP and Compressor, "Integrated Intel graphics processors not supported.) Whatthe?
What does this mean? That STP and Compressor won't install on my MacBook?
Shouldn't this have been in the Logic Studio system requirements?
I'm stuck and don't want to install now at all.
    Help?

Well, it all installed, though when I launched STP, it threw up a dialog that said it might not work properly with less the 128 MB VRAM. Oh, joy. We shall see.
Apple really needs to put this on their LogicStudio System Requirements page.

  • IChat says, " This computer does not supporting video conference"

When i log in to iChat dan choose video preview, the window appears with sentence says,"This computer does not supporting video conference" in my Macbook Black with iSight camera built-in. Can anybody solve this ?

The same thing is happening to my brother's computer. He has a PowerBook G4 867MHz with 1.12GB of RAM. This barely meets the system requirements, but, nonetheless, I was able to install Leopard.
It says the reason I can't do a 1-1 video chat is because of a slow network, but it still says this even when I'm using the Bonjour buddy list on a local (54g only) network.
According to the knowledge base article (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=306687), there is no reason why he couldn't participate in a 1-1 video chat.

  • IChat - Host does not support Kerberos authentication

    Hi all,
I have been trying but with no success to set up an iChat server on 10.6. Our OS X server is bound to AD and will hopefully be using AD to authenticate the iChat clients. I have followed Apple's guide on commenting out the <!-- <cram-md5/> --> section of the c2s.xml file which hasn't solved our problems. Open Directory isn't running as a master it is connected to another directory (our AD directory), and as a test I set up a Wiki server on the same box and this does allow us to authenticate against AD.
The error message we are receiving in iChat is "The host example.com does not support Kerberos authentication. The client is set to use Kerberos, the username format is [email protected] all I think the correct settings.
Under iChat General Settings on the server the Host Domain is example.com, SSL Certificate: No Certificate, Authentication: Any Method, and Enable XMPP server-to-server federation is enable for all domains.

My iMac G5 without intel chips, Mac OS X 10.5.8.

    powerbook g4   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

    Hi Andy,
I just read your posting from two weeks ago and thought I would add some info.
Yesterday I had a customer suffering the same problem. They had just purchased an iMac w Intel and were attempting to connect to a Canon iR4570. They had other PPC Mac's which were running varying versions of 10.4 and were all printing okay. But this iMac was getting the error -9786.
I found that he was trying to connect via IPP, but entering the queue name as LP (which is what you do for LPR connections). By changing the queue to socket://ip address:9100 the error was resolved.
The thing to note about this situation was that since this was the first printer he was adding to his Mac, the protocol was defaulted to IPP. With the previous driver installations he had performed on the other Mac's, the protocol was defaulted to LPR. This would have been due to this protocol being the last one used previously. But the customer had only been taught to add the IP address and the queue name and wasn't aware of the protocol menu...

  • "This virtual machine is configured for 64-bit guest operating systems. However, 64-bit operation is not possible.  This host does not support Intel VT-x"

Hi, I have installed vmware 5.5 hypervisor on hp G8 microserver. I have created one vm as windows 2008 R2. I have also install vmware workstation 11 on this vm. In this workstation when I tried to run vmware 5.5 hypervisor I come across "This virtual machine is configured for 64-bit guest operating systems. However, 64-bit operation is not possible.  This host does not support Intel VT-x" this statement. Which shows that the host machine does not support virtualization and for that you need to go in Bios and enable it but in present case as host machine is also a vm and you would not find much detail of Bios when you log into the Bios therefore, I am pretty much stuck here. I don't see any information in relation to this. Now my question is:
    1. Can we run ESXi inside a vm which is already sitting on ESXi?

I moved the discussion from VMware Workstation to Nested Virtualization which contains several hints on what's possible and what needs to be configured to make things work.

  • Lightroom CC does not support Intel HD 3000 on MacBook Pro - please add support !!!!

Installed the new Lightroom but it does not support the graphics on:
    MacBook Pro (13-inch, Early 2011)
    OSX 10.10.3 (actual version)
Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB
I see that Intel 4400 is required in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Help | Lightroom GPU FAQ,
but this peace of Hardware is just only 4 yeas old .... !
    please do add this !

    Andy
Thanks... But again, why would I have to do this now when it was never a problem before?
In any case, all the footage I'm using in this project is XDCAM EX, the only difference being that some footage is 720, while other footage is 1080, and then there's also a variation in terms of interlaced and progressive footage accross the board (it's a rock band documentary, don't ask! )... Could this have something to do with it?
I kinda doubt it, cos one of the TV shows I work on has the same codec, resolution and other settings accorss the board, and I experience the same stutter on these projects...

  • CS 4 architecture not supported message on intel mac

I am trying to install CS 4 on an intel mac. It was installed on a power pc, but was successfully uninstalled and reinstalled on the intel. It installs fine, but when I try to open InDesign, it says it's not supported on this architecture. Were some of the earlier versions of CS 4 made only for Power PC? If not, what's wrong with the intel that it won't allow me to use the program?

We can't know. you have not told us anything about what Mac you actually use, what version of OSX and so on. Apple have removed many legacy components from recent versions of OSX that may impair functionality or at least require installing additional stuff...

My ichat says "computer does not support video chat" when i have a built in camera. what can i do?

    Hi,
In iChat open the Connection Doctor (Video menu) and the the Capabilities option
Are all items showing Green ?
Try restarting iChat (It re-reads the computers Ability at each launch)
If that does not work try restarting the Computer.
Make sure that in iChat menu > Preference > Video Section the Bandwidth Limit is not set to 100kbps (this is too Low for 1-1 video chats)
    Do a Speed test
"Real World" speeds need at least 256kbps both up and down.
Check the System Profiler is "seeing" the camera.
It will be in Hardware > USB
