IChat quits at app startup/install

Question

Help, I am trying to get ichat going on this machine for the first time, and each time I go thru the setup process it crashes at the last "click done to start using" button. Have reinstalled twice, once from original 10.4 OS disk and again using Pacifist as suggested in one of these posts...no love. Have done the firewall thing and trashed preference files to no avail - any suggestions?
