IChat screen name for .Mac member

My family are all .Mac members and have accounts. We are a little hesitant to do AIM services through AOL (hate to provide information) and would prefer to use iChat with our .Mac accounts. I can't figure out if it is possible to use an alias, just for iChat purposes, to avoid using an email address or any of my regular .Mac names. Can one use a screen name in iChat, through .Mac. If so, how does one create it.
Both my daughter and I have tried using different nicknames, but our .mac email addresses still show up in the iChat windows. Is this only to .Mac members, or to everyone?

The one I look at does not ask all that.
Post code/Zip Code and email address and a "Security Question" of your Choice.
How do you expect then to know it is really you if they don't ask ?

Screen name for iChat

I started up iChat and used my .mac information to set it up. But i want my screen name to be my old AIM screenname not my @mac.com So my question is does anyone know how i can change it so I can use my AIM screen name? Thanks for your time.

nevermind found it, up left hand corner click ichat and then accounts and its simple from there...

Why has my ichat screen name been invalidated, how can i fix?

I'm traveling in europe, all of a sudden i get "screen name invalid - check settings" msg when trying to open ichat or AIM (tried on multiple devices, not just 1 computer). I have not changed anything. I tried to enter through AIM, it says there was a security issue, and I need to check with Apple (since i have a mac.com screen name). Can't seem to find a way to get to Apple on this.

Error "no valid screen name" for FM DYNP_VALUES_READ

I have a requirement to fetch Operation tab details dynamically while creating a order through IW31 transaction.
I have tried using Function module DYNP_VALUES_READ to fetch the screen field values dynamically to read the Work centre field value from operations tab.
Please look at the code i have used.

Kindly check whether field-symbol is assigned before using for preventing the run-time error.

In CREATE DATA statement we are assigning the structure, if you know the structure name, it is better use TYPE statement instead of LIKE statement as shown below.

Is there a way to have snap to functionality on the ipad3 apps screen like for MAC and win7?

Researching ipad3 and snap to functionality, similiar to that found on MACs and PCs using WIN7. Searched the web but I did not find anything specific to the ipad.

Separate 'itunes' / 'iOS launch screen' names for apps?

I've noticed many apps I have display one name in itunes and a different name in the iOS launch screen. I wish to do this for my app because my app name is too long and gets truncated in an ugly way. So there is the <name> tag which seems to apply the name to both. Is there a separate tag for just the iOS launch screen name?

Multi playlist's on different screen names for XP

Right now we have four different play libraries in four different screen names. What I would like to do is consolidate all the libraries into one big library. Is there any way we can do this? The way we have it set up now is... if my wife and my two kids like a song and want to pay for it, they are paying THREE times for the same song!!!!! Our OS is windows XP...Please help before I go broke!!!! Thanks.

You can keep the separate libraries for ease of syncing, but share music among them.

Netbios/Partial Qualified Domain name for Mac?

Is it possible to set a Netbios/Partial Qualified Domain name for a Mac the way one sets it for a PC? If so, where can this be set? Apparently, this is what my router uses to report clients connected by DHCP.

What is the proper name for Mac OS? OS X? Apple Mac OS X?

It's a tad bit confusing for me since I am new to Apple.
What do you call it the true name for it?
Apple Mac OS?
OS X?
If I type in OS X It shows all the versions released form Apple.

When I searched for MAC OS it did not show the versions of released OS X for Apple.

Then I thought going by brand name and model is the way to know the proper name for it.
I think the proper name for it is Apple Mac OS X that's how you type it in order to know other realses if I am not mistaken.

You can call it Mac OS X or OS X and others will know what you mean.
If you click the apple at the left side of the menu bar, About This Mac, you will see OS X so that is what Apple calls it.

I need to create a screensaver for my mac OS 10.38. Can I use .SWF files to do this or a GIF? I tried dropping a .SWF movie into screensaver in Preferences but it didn't seem to work.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
There are a few tools you can use. This page lists a couple. It looks like you can download a trial version and see if it'll do what you want. If not there's another one on that page.
If you're handy with programming, you can also create your own with Xcode. There's an article here that talks about it, though it's a bit old, and might be somewhat out of date.
But just dropping SWF files probably isn't going to work. A screen saver is a special kind of program...

Screen flicker for Mac Mini

I got the Mac Mini for about one week. When I connect it to my LG W1952TQ monitor, the monitor become flicker. I have to turn the monitor off for several times and wait for the Mac mini to warm up before the monitor screen improved.
Did anyone got any solution to the problem? Pleae help.

Need part number part name for Mac Mini 1.42.

On the back of the housing that holds the hard drive and the superdrive there is a brownish flexible plastic strip that is the length of the back of the mini. Well when I was doing an upgrade of the superdrive I bent this plastic piece out of shape and it would not stay so I am running with out it. I assume, seeing the fan in on the other side of this plastic strip that it keeps the air circulating with in the system and slips out the sides of the housing. The reason I say that is before I did the upgrade the heat from the back of the unit was not all that hot now with out the plastic strip it blows extremely warm.
So anyone know the part name or number so I can look it up and see how much it is.

Picasa collage style screen saver for MAC ?

Has anyone seen the screen saver that Google Picasa offers PC users that is called the Collage mode ?
What it does is when entering screen saver mode, instead of diplaying a traditional slide show with one pic after another, it begins this effect where the pictures start popping on - in a modified 4x6 aspect - and compositing over eachother in a random fashion thus creating a collage type effect.
It looks way cool !
So far, I can only ascertain that this 'collage mode screen saver' is a PC only option.
Does anyone know if this can be achieved on a mac ??

Picasa is not currently available on the Mac - contact Google for information about any possible plan to provide it
I am not aware of a screen save like that but search MacFixit, version tracker and Apple downloads to see if you can find one

I keep trying to download a well known Matrix screen saver for mac, but it continuously says "Cannot install MatrixGL screen saver". Why is that when multiple people are using it?

I don't know how to get this scrren saver to work. Many people have used it and said it was good and dependant. But im not sure why It keeps saying on the "Setting" Screen Cannot install? Someone Please give me a helping hand, would really appreicate it.

Matrix Reloaded GL is a dinosaur software wise. Many many people report it is NOT compatible on Mountain Lion. Select a different screensaver, Matrix screensaver is not reliable or wont work at all on Mountain Lion OSX
