IChat shows negative idle times

Recently had a machine revert to 1970, changed the time (network now), correct time zone, etc... all is working well, but now my iChat shows idle time as negative. For example Idle (-177 hours).
Does anyone know how to correct this?
Thank you for any help.

Hi Socokid,
The Idle time is one that does not show up in any of the .plists directly.
It will either be com.apple.ichatAgent.plist or com.apple.ichat.AIM.plist
Delete them one at a time and restart iChat.

  • What is causing low physical disk % idle time

Recently I observed that all my four hard disks installed in my XP Pro machine show a % idle time physical disk counter between 50-60% all the time, even when the PC is fully idle. I checked the processes running in the background and I can't find nothing
    causing this constant disk activity.
When I run XP in safe mode the counter is normal (average 99,60%). I also observed that in normal mode, when I connect a USB stick, the counter is normal (99,5%). After disconnecting the stick drops again to 50-60%.
How can I find what is causing this disk activity?

If you are getting your information from the Windows Task Manager, that is not disk activity shown.  That is CPU activity.
So, where are you getting your information?

  • Finding out idle time

How can i find out the idle time in java?
I want to fire an even if the idle time is 1 minute
    Thanks

Topic: IDLE Time for Java Application not SYSTEM Idle Hi I am Krishna , I want to calculate idle time for an application. That is , if user1 uses the application for example called "yahoo site" for checking mails , then after 10 mins he went to outside , from 11th min the status of application should show (Like Yahoo messenger after certail time it shows idle time ) in another ADMINJSP page for Admins that how much this user1 idle say.. : 1 min idle 2 min idle .... .... 10 min idle Now user1 comes and now clicks on application . then ADMINJSP page should show total IDLE time (10 mins idle). And he again after 15 mins he went some where from 16th min the status of the application should show in ADMINJSP page.If user1 left the application like that then the application should be idle for 1 hour i.e 1 min idle 2 min idle ... ... 59 mins idle 60 mins idle Time Up -- Session Expired then he has to login again. So the above is the issue --------------------------------------------------------------------------- What i have done ..................issssssssssssss ------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have taken time for last request by using getLastAccessedTime() I have taken present time System.currentTimeMills() Taking the difference we will get the idle time . But the problem here is When user1 click on any page only this calcuting will be done and showing to ADMINJSP because getLastAccessedTime works only when any requests comes , but we dont want like that , we want the application without any requests from user1 the application should show idle for 1 min , 2 mins , 3 mins...so on upto user1 uses the application then the time should be normal. I have also tried all the EVENTS classes in HttpSessionBinding like valueunbound()...or sessiondestroy() etc. Can any one please help me by giving any CODE.If you need more information plz ask me Plz plz plz plz this is very urgent plz can any please send me the CODE , ihave tried this very hard but no idea how to do? long startTime = session.getLastAccessedTime(); long stopTime = System.currentTimeMillis(); long diffTimeInSecs = (stopTime - startTime) / 1000 ; gives idle time for every request Regards Krishna

  • Buddylist wont display idle times of away buddies.

In iChat, I was wondering how to change the settings to get the idle time to appear for my buddies that are away AND idle.

I don't see a way to change the settings. Away means away, but also means you are online, but may not answer. you could still be using your computer and thus not necessarily idle.
Idle is a default that turns on, i don't know at what time, that shows that altough you are online, you are not actively using the computer.
from the Help menu, i get this statement about it: "If you're not actively using your computer, your status will remain as you last set it, but your friends will see that you're idle, as well as how long it has been since you last used your computer. Any message that arrives while you are away or idle will be waiting on your screen.
To prevent messages from being sent to you, or to prevent someone from seeing that you're idle, set your status to Offline"

i have a web page which uses around 10 session variables to store values on a button click.and after assign session values Response.Redirect("~/url",false); to a a page which contains crystal report viewer.and report should show those session values.after keeping the application idle for 45 mins i click on the button which assign session values.then it's redirecting to the report page but the report is not shown.it shows a empty page and no errors shown(only happens application is idle for nearly 45 mins other wise works fine)
    i'm using iis 7

  • How can I get Messages to show the correct time for read receipts?

Messages in Mountain Lion shows the wrong time for read receipts. For example, my iPad will show a message was read at 3:37 pm but if I open Messages on my MacBook, the read receipt shows the time that I opened the Messages app as opposed to the time the message was actually read. This is not too much of an issue if my iPad is handy, but really, shouldn't Messages on my MacBook be able to show the correct time the message was read? It syncs all the other infromation with Messages on iOs.
I should mention that if Messages is running on my MacBook when the recipient reads the message, then it does show the correct time the message was read. It's if Messages was not running and I re-launch it that the read receipt time gets mixed up.

    HI,
As far as I am aware Messages marks or time stamps an iMessage at the time of receipt rather then the time you got around to reading it.
I will admit that in most cases reading and receiving as the app opens will be near enough the same time in some conversations.
Adding Time Stamps to Chat is what iChat has always done particularly with AIM based Chats.
The "Sync" in Messages is "display on all devices"  and after that each iMessages is dealth with separately on each device.
There is no syncing of deleting/dimssing an iMessages or having read it on another device.

  • Buddy idle times

on my old macbook pro(running osX) I can see buddy idle times in ichat/jabber. My new macbook pro is running Snow Leopard and I can no longer see idle times. Am I missing a setting?

    Hi,
There is no setting to specifically view the Idle times.
If you are logged in twice to one Jabber server you may find the one that was logged in last gets the updates where as the other does not.
Jabber servers and specifically Jabber app can be set to have different Priorities.
This way you can set up your home computer with a lower Priority than a work one and both lower than say  Phone.
This way when you turn on the Work computer it would get any messages rather than having to turn the Home one Off.
I certainly know that iChat (which has no Priority change setting) is se to the same Priority and logging in to the Google Mail Web Page and it's chat Option.
I would expect other Jabber Log-ins to be similar.

    Hi,
Also try turning Off Face Time
    Open Face Time
    Go to the Preferences
    Set it to Off.
Also make sure your router has the Time and Date/Time Zone set as this upsets Face Time which in turn upsets IChat

  • How to make an exception to RDS session Idle Time Limit?

    A little bit of background:
We are running WYSE Thin Clients to connect to a RDS server farm at our company. We have set the Idle Session Time Limit to 12 hours, in Remote Desktop Session Host Configuration (in Connection --> Properties --> Sessions tab). This limit
    is a site requirement.
The issue: We would like to configure a few accounts to stay logged into the RDS server indefinitely, past the 12 hour limit. How can we do this without changing the time limit for everyone?
I have tried a script to simulate mouse movements/key presses at intervals on the client session to trick RDS, but Remote Desktop Service Manager does not show that the script affects the idle time for that client. Is there another automatic way to simulate
user input to keep the client session active? What kind of hardware interrupt is RDS hooking into to determine that a human input has been pressed? A script would be the least intrusive to our infrastructure so if it is possible this is definitely preferred.
I've heard that Group Policy may be a solution here - but our local IT department do not have admin access to the Domain Controller for our site, it is managed by a third party. However, if I were to solve this using group policy, what would be the
steps? I would appreciate a step-by-step walk through if it is possible. We would have hundreds of users that need the 12 hour limit applied, and only a few that needs the infinite logon - so please keep practicality in mind.
Thanks in advance to anyone who helps.

    Hi,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
In your case, I would like to suggest the steps for you. Yes, you need to take this successful via group policy.
You can create 2 group: Just for reference:
    Group 1- MinLoginTime
    Group 2-MaxLoginTime
Add the required users to particular group.
    Users upto 12Hrs- MinLoginTime
    Users above 12 Hrs- MaxLoginTime
Now need to apply group policy setting on this required groups.
    Group 1- MinLoginTime:
Set time limit for active but idle Remote Desktop Services sessions-
    Enable -Set 12 Hrs
End Session when time limits are reached- Enable
This is because it will disconnect the session of your users who reached to 12 hrs.
    Group 2-MaxLoginTime:
Set time limit for active but idle Remote Desktop Services sessions-
    Not configured\Disable
If you disable or do not configure this policy setting, this policy setting is not specified at the Group Policy level. By default, Remote Desktop Services allows sessions to remain active for an unlimited amount of time.
You can find the above setting option under below mention path.
    Computer Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Remote Desktop Services\Remote Desktop Session Host\Session Time Limits
    User Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Remote Desktop Services\Remote Desktop Session Host\Session Time Limits
Note: These Group Policy settings will take precedence over the settings configured in Remote Desktop Session Host Configuration. If both the Computer Configuration and the User Configuration policy settings are configured, the Computer Configuration policy
    settings take precedence.
    More information:

  • Authorization error in Repository after idle time

    Hi all,
I have a problem in ESR where after some idle time I suddenly loose all my authorizations to perform any actions in Repository (sometimes also Directory). I'm even denied the authorization to close objects or the entire ESR altogether.
This happens after I have worked on an object, then leave it for some time (I have yet to find out the exact time). Then when I try to continue working on the object, a window pops up saying "User has no authorization".
Note that I have all necessary roles, and I can perform all the actions when I force-shut the ESR (by killing the ESR-process on OS-level) and log on again. However the objects are locked and I need to remove the lock from the Integration Builder Administration page in order to change the object. This is very annoying!
I have checked the Default Trace when this happens and found that the userID with which I am logged on has for some reason changed to J2EE_GUEST! I am guessing this is the reason I am not allowed to work on the object anymore, as J2EE_GUEST does not have the appropriate authorizations.
The Default Trace shows the following (my real user ID is in this system ERIKEN):

  • Capture system print event and system idle time

    Hello,
We are creating a desktop widget using AIR. The widget will be docked to the system tray. What we want to achieve is:
    1. When the user invokes Print function at the OS level, from any location/appolication, the AIR widget shall listen to it and show an alert.
    2. The widget should be able to detect a predefined system idle time (wherein the user is not interacting with the system as a whole - neither mouse nor keyboard inputs - for a predefined interval), and perform an action based on that.
How shall it be possible to detect the above 2 scenarios in AIR?
Any help in this regards, will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Warm Regards,
    Parag

  • Iphone 6 idle time battery consumption issues

My new 1 month old iphone 6 seems to have pathetic idle time power consumption. When i got to bed around 11 AM lets say the battery is around 25% by the time i wake up by 5 AM it drops  to 2-3% if wifi is turned on. Just to check if its a wifi issue i tried the same thing without wifi turned on and the results show the drop to be from 25% to 8-9%. I have owned a 5 and 4s previously but never faced any such weird issue. Is this a known issue? Funniest part is all through the day the consumption seems to be pretty much okay, but only during nights the drop seems to be pretty high. Let me know if anyone else is seeing the same issue.

Set it back to factory settings without using the latest backup and see if the battery life returns to normal:

  • Modify a tcp idle time-out on ACE

    Hi.
I have a question about tcp idle-time out on ace.
    I configured like below
    set timeout inactivity 600000
    class-map match-any TCP_Connection_IP
    2 match virtual-address 100.254.130.0 255.255.255.0 tcp any
    policy-map multi-match TCP_Connection_Policy
    class TCP_Connection_IP
    connection advanced-options TCP_Connection_Timer
    interface vlan 30(Client Vlan)
    service-policy input TCP_Connection_Policy
    interface vlan 330(Server Vlan)
    service-policy input TCP_Connection_Policy
    Is it a correct?,
If ok, How can I check the tcp-idle?
    as show command,

You can't use the virtual-address keyword if you don't want to loadbalance the traffic.
If you just want to the timeout for traffic routed, you need to use a class-map with an acl.
    ie:
    access-list net1 extended permit tcp any 100.254.130.0 255.255.255.0
    class-map net1
    match access-list net1
    policy-map multimatch TCP_Connection_Policy
    class net1
    connection advanced-options TCP_Connection_Timer
Now, if you have multiple virtual ip address and want to set the timeout for this virtual ip, you have to assign the connection timeout to all individual virtual ip.
You can't do it in one shot like you did.
There is no command to see if a connection has the right idle timeout.
All you can do is a 'show conn detail' and see if the idle timeout increases up to your configured value.
    Gilles.
