IChat starts up when iPhone or camera connects
iChat keeps starting up when I connect my iPhone or camera.
I unchecked the box in the preference panel so it shouldn't start up...
Who has an idea??
Go to your apps folder and start image capture and go to its prefs and see what it set to open.

I can listen to the Music Library in my Ipad through home sharing, but I can't do it in my Iphone. When Iphone managed to connect my Mac, I can see how a watch turns clockwise but it stops when it arrives at a half of the watch. What can I do?

I want to back up an Iphone 3G and put all the content into Iphone 4. After I have backed up the Ipone 3G and then when Iphone 4 is connected to Itunes I do not get an Option to restore back up from Iphone 3G. The only devive is see in the drop down list is my Iphone 4. The IOS on Iphone 3G is 4.2.1 and on Iphone 4 is 4.1.
Please share if anyone has any solution to such a problem.You will first have to update your iPhone 4 in order to restore it from the backup of your 3G. Follow the directions here:

This is an erase/restore deal, so make sure all of your data is on your computer before you begin. iOS 6.1.2 will be installed on your iPhone 4.
Once done, on your iPhone 4: Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content & Settings. You'll now be able to restore your 3G backup to your iPhone 4. -
I tried all solution but still i am unable to connect to my wifi. It started yesterday when my ipad cant connect to wifi.
It's hard to provide help when your question starts out with, "I tried all solutions" however here is some troubleshooting advice.
If you are having WiFi problems it is necessary to isolate whether the problem is with your network or your iPad. Note: Do NOT consider your network to be blameless if some other devices can connect to it.
First, test your iPad on some other WiFi networks: a friends, Starbucks, Barnes & Noble, etc.
If it works well there then the problem is probably with your network. Try restarting your WiFi router by removing power for 30 seconds. If that does not help check for a firmware update for your router. If none exists which corrects the problem consider replacing the router.
If your iPad does not function well on other networks it possibly has a hardware problem. You could try Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings to see if that corrects the problem. If not, contact Apple Support or visit an Apple store for evaluation. They can provide a replacement if your iPad is bad.

It would then report it failed. I looked under device manager and saw that it was listed as a camera device. I followed the steps found in the following url, and now my iphone is synching. Usually, iTunes and the camera options started up when my iPhone was plugged in. Now, only the camera options start up, and iTunes doesn't. It recognizes my phone when i turn on iTunes, but how come it doesn't automatically do it anymore?

When iPhone 3GS is connected iTunes doesn't launch
Updated to iTunes 9, updated iPhone to 3.1. When iPhone gets connected iTunes doesn't launch automatically. I should add though, that my ipod shuffle when connected does auto launch iTunes.
Here's what I did: uncheck "disable autosync for ipod and iphones" in itunes/settings. Then connect your phone, go to summary pane and choose "sync when this phone is connected". Go back to itunes/settings and select "disable autosync..." again. Check the summary pane again, autosync should be garyed out again. Close itunes, disconnect the phone. Connect again and itunes should auto launch without starting to sync.

Import pictures to iPhone with Camera Connection Kit?
At the moment it seems that this kit is only working with iPad.
It would be great to import pictures directly to iPhone from sd card with the Camera Connection Kit when travelling. Especially with the new iPhoto this makes sense. Is there a solution to get it working or is it planned to support it with a new iOS?It still doesn't work with iPhone. I doubt it will either.

ITunes fails to launch when iPhone 5 is connected
With the 11.1.3 (8) upgrade, iTunes fails to launch when my iPhone 5 is connected to my MacPro. iPhoto launches automatically, as expected. When I manually launch iTunes, it will recognize the phone, but I must manually sync it and back it up. When I select the iPhone, open SUMMARY and view Options (at the bottom of the page), Options, the box that says "Automatically sync when this iPhone is connected" is grayed-out and cannot be checked or selected. I've re-downloaded and re-installed iTunes, to no avail. Any tips on how to restore this basic functionality?

I'm using an iPhone 5 with iOS 7.0.2, regardless it is the most recent update
When I plug my phone into my car radio's USB port (Apple cable, not knock off) iTunes starts to play the very first song in my large iTunes library.
I plug into the USB port to charge it and to connect the phone to radio in order to use hands free audio.
I have tried two or three different cables, it happens with all cables and again all are actual Apple cables.
I do not recall this happening with iOs 6 or at least as much.
With iOs 7 it happens every f***ing time. Extremely annoying and dangerous (I may get so frustrated by this that one day I might just smash the phone or the car radio :-) to the equipment.
I have to unlock my phone, go to iTunes and pause or stop the song/iTunes.
The app does not show as being open, that is why I have to go iTunes itself, the old fashioned way, so to speak.
It sometimes happens when I plug my headset in (also Apple brand, the basic ones that come with the iPad and iPhones) to phone and have tried the two different ones I have. It only seems to happen if my phone is not in use (i.e. I am on a call and switch to the headset it does not happen)
Interestingly this issue with the headphones and iTunes automatically starting happened more with iOS 6 and than with iOS 7. Ironically the opposite is true with the car radio, USB port cable, charging and iPhone — it rarely happened with iOS 6.0 but with iOS 7.0 it always happens.
I cannot seem to find a fix here but I do see I am not the only one with this annoying issue.
Please someone (APPLE!) figure out a fix.
PS I have even considered NOT having any of my music on my phone — none at all — which not only would solve the problem (I would hope!) but be extremely inconvenient and defeating the purpose of only having an iPhone vs an iPhone and an iPod.
PPS - I probably left out something really relevant, like what color is my car , so if I did, please let me know.I have an iPhone 5 and every time I get into my car, as soon as my iPhone connects to the bluetooth or if I connect the USB cable, the music starts blaring through the car stereo, even if the radio was off. If I am using any of the navigation apps on my phone (google maps, waze, apple maps), and I happen to be lucky enough to have the voice directions working (that's consistently inconsistent), the music will frequently start by itself during navigation, even if I didn't turn the music on. Sometimes the music and navigation voice over will compete with each other at the same time. Sometimes they both go totally silent. Sometimes I'll hear only music. Sometimes only the voice directions. And if make or receive a phone call while the navigation is working, as soon as the phone call ends, the music will always take over again, even if I didn't have the music on prior to. I've checked and re-checked every setting on my phone, in my apps, in my car, and followed all of the suggestions I've found online (note to Apple - there are tons of posts on this topic), and nothing works.
It seems like there should be an easy software fix for this, or at the very least, options to:
prevent the music from starting automatically every time you connect with a cable or bluetooth (insanely annoying)
allow voice directions to temporarily mute music, should one choose to be listenting to music and navigating at the same time
just listen to voice direction - no music!
Better yet, how about just provide options to let the end-user decide when to listen to music.
For a product that is supposed to be "intuitively easly" and/or "just works", this level of dysfunction shouldn't be acceptable. Come on Apple - what are you doing to fix this??? -
My iPhone 5 says it is connected to iTunes and starts syncing when it isn't connected

It sounds like Wifi syncing may be enabled in iTunes. The article iOS: Syncing with iTunes found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1386 outlines how to enable Wifi syncing but rather than checking the box that enables it, you would uncheck it.
Wi-Fi syncing
Open iTunes
To set up Wi-Fi syncing, connect your iOS device to your computer with the included USB cable. Select your device under Devices on the left-hand side.
In the Summary tab, select "Sync with this [device] over Wi-Fi".
Whenever the computer and the iOS device are on the same network, the iOS device will appear in iTunes, and you can sync it. The iOS device will sync automatically when all of the following are true:
The iOS device is plugged in to power
iTunes is open on the computer
The iOS device and the computer are on the same Wi-Fi network
While the iOS device appears in the left-hand column of iTunes, you can select the content tabs and configure sync options.
Click Apply or Sync to sync the iOS device.
If the iOS device does not appear in the Devices section or you are unable to sync, please see this article for troubleshooting.

When iPhone 5s is connected via USB no audio is heard

I've seen older threads on this issue but I don't think I've really come across any solutions. My issue started yesterday; now before reading further I have to ask that you please keep in mind that I did perform the latest upgrade on my iPhone a bit earlier in the day.
When I connect my iPhone to my vehicle sync system and announce that I'd like to connect via USB, the voice recognition repeats my request and then the music on my iPhone shows to be playing on the display in my vehicle. The problem is that though the music appears to be playing and the minutes played are being displayed there is no audio coming through. When I switch to the Bluetooth Audio option all sound comes through.
Now, as a 2nd test, we connected my sons iPhone 5s via USB (he has not taken the latest update on his iPhone) and the same issue happens with his. Voice recognition changes to the USB format as requested, music appears to be playing but no audio is heard. When we change his phone to Bluetooth Audio the audio comes through nice and clear.
I'm not entirely convinced the update caused the issue so I wanted to put this out there to see if anyone has run into this and were able to actually resolve the issue.
I know the USB cable is working fine because when I do plug it into either phone the phone makes the little connection sound and pops up a brief battery percentage box. I also know the cable is working because when we announce USB as our audio of choice the system recognize USB via the iPhone.
One other thing I tried looking for was the option on the phone to switch from Docked to Synch - I know on my iPhone 4 I was able to switch back and forth through iTunes and would also have the option if I tried to watch anything via You Tube when connected to the dock; I cannot find this anywhere on the 5s when connected via USB.
Help is greatly appreciated!!!I have had similar troubles with wifi.. some improvement removing BlackBerry desktop software & drivers & reinstalling after reboot... I used the same installer I had previously, but a fresh downloaded installer couldn't hurt...

LilAnd, if you want Aperture to launch when you connect your camera, but not when you connect your iPhone, open Image Capture when your iPhone is connected, highlight your iPhone in the sidebar, and select the No Application option in the lower left-hand corner where it says "connecting this iPhone opens"
