Ichat to PC using AOL

I have been successful ichatting to another mac using AOL however when I try to ichat with a PC running Vista from the same location I do not receive any audio or video, I can IM..any suggestions.

iChat>Preferences>Video>Bandwidth limit: None
System Preferences>Quicktime>Streaming>Streaming speed: 1.5Mbps T1/Intranet/LAN
Restart iChat

I'm trying to use iChat for the first time. I went online, created an aol account and password. When I lauch iChat it promps me to log into AOL instant messenger. When I enter my login ID and password I get an error that my login ID or password is incorrect. But I can go to the aol website and log in fine. how can I get into iChat and start using it?

Creating an AOL account can mean you ID looks like and email.
However the AIM messaging service tends to use only the username part.
IF you register via the AIM registration page it allows you to Activate email separately.
My AIM name comes from Registering a long time ago with Netscape ( A Browser that included AIM messaging)
It gave me an Email at my [email protected] where as my AIM login is just the username
If you registered via AOL itself the email tends to end @AOL.com but you should still try it as a plain username.

How to Make a Video Call Using iChat to Someone Using MS Live Call

What do I need to do to make/receive video calls using iChat to someone who uses Microsoft Live Call (using Windows Live Messenger to register me as a contact)?
When I initially set up iChat, I selected AIM (AOL Instant Messenging) as my default messenger program. But I can't remember where I set that up. Where in iChat can I make that change from AIM to Windows Live Messenger?

If its anything like MSN you cant video chat with ichat.

I have a 10.2.8 os. I had opened up the AOL logo on the bottom bar. Two aol boxes came up. I can get them to go away for a short time and then they come back. I have not used AOL for 6 years. How can I get the boxes to go away?

I received an e-mail in my junk folder in AOL, claiming to to be from iTunes, saying that after the 30th March I will no longer be able to sign into my Apple account using AOL. Is this correct, or is this a Spam?

I never heard of that. Did it include a link to click on? Did you click on it?
Can you post the headers from that email? That will help determine if it really came from iTunes
Since it also went to your SPAM folder it sure sounds like SPAM

No images display when using AOL browser

My client's website website with images in layers and tables
dislpays perfectly for most people, but does not seem to display
the images consistently for visitors using AOL. Either the AOL
browser or Internet Explorer.
The site works fine on Macs.
Is there a known glitch with graphics in AOL? Any ideas of a

Older versions of AOL rerenders images as .art files in an
attempt to make them load faster over dialup.

Mail Issue Using AOL setting

Hey, just got my hard drive replaced and im trying to set up the mail application. I use aol mail and i called aol and they walked me through what settings i need to have. The issue is that its not letting me recieve or send mail. Here are my settings now and if anyone can help it would be grately appreciated.
IMAP Account
Incoming Mail Server: imap.aol.com
Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.aol.com
(then the names and passwords are all in correctly)

AOL always opens when I open my browser I don't use AOL!!

When I open firefox AOL comes up as the Homepage. I don't use AOL. I have gone into the preferances and changed what I want for my homepage. I have even removed AOL from the list of possible browsers but as soon as I quit firefox when I open it again AOL comes up. It is very maddening. Has anyone else had this problem? did you solve it?

Open Firefox. Go to Firefox in the menu bar and select Preferences.
In General, select which "home page" you want. Mine (below) is set to open google.

That's what I thought it did... but it didn't work for me.. I tried to use it to find some of my own posts within LV.. and it didn't find anything.
The search was : serial
I did this while reading a LV question of the subject.
I shall experiment with the search engine again and report my findings.

Right click on the email in the left hand pane. Select Mark as Unread to return it to an unread state. Click Delete to move it to the trash or file it in a folder if you have any configured. You may need to click the show button on the upper left hand side of the window to see your folders. The + sign at the bottom of that pane allows you to add a new folder.

I'm trying to go from memory now when it happened to me, but try turning the server Off. See if that ungreys the setting so that you can enter the password and username. I believe on my one AOL account what I did was to select another SMTP server from the list below the primary server.
