IChat video suddenly doesn't work...

My fiancee and I have been using iChat for the last few years - the video and audio have always worked fine. She is in the USA and I'm in England until we get married in November. Last night, when I got home from work, it suddenly doesn't work. I'm on a MacBook running 10.4.11 and use AIM on iChat and she is on AIM on a Windows Vista laptop. She tries, I try it, it just doesn't start.

I have a different Error code in my Log.
You have Error 8
This is a bit of general coverall error code.
It means that it cannot make a Connection (it has excluded other items such as Internet Speed (Error 22) and issues over routing (error 7) and a "missing" camera)
One cause is when you set up Port Forwarding in your router for iChat and then the computer's IP Changes
This means the router is "pointing" the ports to one IP and the computer has another.
You have the three titles in ther Log (which I have now spaced out)
Normally there is more info in these sections.
The rest of the Log is not useful at this stage (I can't see that it mentions any iChat add-on)
Check the IP in use in System Preference > Network.
Compare this with any IP that is listed for Port Forwarding in the router.
Ideally the router should be using UPnP to open the ports (it lets your do Screen Sharing in iChat)
The router should not be doing Ping Blocking or have any DoS or SPI Security Filters

Importing video suddenly doesn't work...

On my new macbook pro, I have been able to import video (even .AVI files) into iMovie. There is even one project started using .avi clips. Suddenly, today, my iMovie will not allow me to import ANY video, of any format.
The only thing I've done differently is that last night I used the MacBook's camera to record a short clip. Since then...no importing video.
Did i change a setting somewhere? I am reading everywhere that you cannot import .avi files, but I did and i have. I'm also reading about streamclip (?) a free download...but I shouldn't need another third party program to import files that should be importable already.
any ideas?

This happened to me today. I was merrily uploading my AVI videos that I recorded with my Canon camera, creating a video on iMovie, when I noticed that one of the videos I recorded had not imported. I went to import movies selected the video . . . nothing. Trying again and again results in several different outcomes.
1. Suddenly it displays ALL the videos I ever uploaded to iMovie (including ones I thought I deleted)
2. Suddenly it displays a completed movie, in place of ALL the clips I'd been working on.

IChat video/audio fails to work

iChat video/audio fails to work 90% of the time. The error message says the other party failed to respond, or some other, similar, bogus "communication error" message.
Invitation to video or audio chat fails 100% of the time with certain buddies of mine, and anywhere from 50% to 90% of the time with others, regardless of whether they invite me or I invite them. Changing ISPs, Macs, locations, or static/dynamic IP settings has made no difference.
This problem surfaced with Tiger in the summer of 2007, and progressively became worse, especially since Leopard, to the point where iChat video/audio fails 100% of the time, unless the other user happens to be in the same [home] network.
All of a sudden the problem went away since the upgrade to 10.5.6, and I was able to again use iChat video to communicate with friends I have not been able to "see" in a year and a half! However, the problem started again today, with the same bogus "communication error" message every time a video connection attempt is made.
Screen Sharing also fails to work, 100% of the time, regardless of how it is invoked, through iChat or not, unless, again, it is attempted between 2 macs in the same home network.
In the meantime, Skype video works fine all the time.

Thomson-Alcatel by default do what is called Binding of SIP to port 5060
This means ANY SIP data is forced to that port. iChat 4 no longer uses this port for SIP. It caused problems in iChat 2 and 3 which could be resolved when the firmware was Version 4 or earlier.

As I clearly said the results can be intermittent.
With non Speedtouches it tends to be a 10:10:30 split out of 50 Buddies

The Original Version 4 Telnet command would make this 100% successful to non Speedtouch devices
In Version 5 it becomes about 15:10:25 which only marginally better.
Later versions of the firmware do not even seem to reach these figures.
Speedtouch to Speedtouch connections are better but still not 100%
I would guess you live some where where Speedtouch's are popular and have many Speedtouch to Speedtouch connections that fair slightly better than average.
Last time I had contact with iBoise on this the Firmware was at version 7 and he was in the process of evaluating it for any changes.
There has been no announcement. In this case I don't think No News is Good News.

Video clips doesn't work in new keynote

I recently upgraded keynote after installing os x maverick.
When I opened my previous keynote presentation, the new keynote asked to upgrade the movie quality.
And you have to click this option, otherwise the video clips will only come out as pictures.
But now, some of the video clips doesn't work. The thing is, I do not have the original video files as these are presentations given to me by others.
What's next for me?

Try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose any data by resetting, but it can cure some glitches.

The video out doesn't work properly any more on my G4 12inch powerbook. It had been working fine, but now it doesn't work properly with either of the mini-vga adapters that came with my powerbook. When using the mini-vga to composite/s-video, the image appears on the tv but there is no colour and the picture isn't stable at any resolution over 800 x 600.
When connecting to a monitor or projector using the mini-vga to VGA adapter, the image appears on the screen etc but the colour is completely wrong (everything is shades of green).
I can't think of anything that might be the problem, though I did upgrade from 10.3 to 10.4 and I'm wondering is this might be the problem??

I can't understand this. I'm completely lost now. I can't remember what I've done or tried to do. A plethora of usernames and passwords is swimming in my head.

But the real question is why for the past year did the passwords work and then all of the sudden after this anomaly the disk password doesn't work? I'm not 100% sure of what my configuration was, but I know that most of the time it required one password -- supervisor, and occasionally it asked for 2 -- disk password as well I believe. This may have been related to the Password on Restart setting I think -- asking for the disk password on cold vs. warm boot. But I know both were exactly the same. But after this incident only the Supervisor password worked.

After making a few minor changes late yesterday, the hero orbit slider suddenly doesn't work. All changes made were rolled back to working version, yet the hero still doesn't work.
I have recopied all the page code from the uguru-interior-design template into the scholzandbarclay site, which also did not work. All other code, scripts, styles have been checked. Can't find anything. However, when the pages render there is a difference (see screen captures)
in this one, the ul has no orbit
in this one, the script has added the orbit code.
Again, all scripts, code, styles have been checked.
What am I missing?
