IChess 3D on a MBP 2011 early

Question

Hello community i am a bit convern about iChess 3d  when i start playing chess the fans on my macbook pro go max at 6200rpm, can some one please tell me if has the same issue with iChess 3D on their MBP's ?

About the CPU situation: the processor is made to be used at 100% by any application. Depending on the type of calculation, you can use only a small % or it full potential. In this case calculating the next move in iChess3D is a really complicated task for a computer, especially when you play on Hard. In this mode the algorithm is trying to predict what your next move will be, and during this time it will use every resource available. The faster the processor you have, the more calculations you can make in a shorter period of time. In our case: you don't have to wait for the computer to move, thx to continuous calculations made in the background.
If you want iChess 3D to use less power you can play on Easy. In that case the CPU won't be used so much.
About other games that you mentioned above. Games like that are more GPU intensive then CPU because there is not much going on during the game play. The only thing the CPU have to do, is to register your input and calculate the physic in the world - for example: you should see a spike in CPU usage every time you hit two object together.
The CPU is not used much while calculating the physics because there are many tricks to calculate only the things that are happening in front of you, and in close proximity.
This is completely different then trying to predict your next move in iChess 3D. This type of calculation is similar to calculating the PI number which uses the whole CPU.
