Ici in mrp4 view
My understanding is that by setting 2 in ICI of mrp4 view, it will combine the all pru2019s or planned orders of that particular material and generates single procurement proposal. My doubt is that if the date of procurement is different, then what system will do? I mean if procurement date of one sales order requirement is 20.01.10 and other is 25.01.10, then how system behaves? Will it generate two pru2019s or single pru2019s? what is the reference for system to decide so? Please advice.
Hi,
This will be controlled through your lot sizing procedure. If there are two sales orders which have a common component as A and you have two different delivery dates for them then when you run the MRP system will be have as follows,
1) create 2 PR's/PO of the delivery date for both of them are different and you use EX in Lot sizing
2) If you use daily/weekly/monthly lot sizing then system will generate the cumulative requirement based on the delivery dates.

Follow-Up material items in MRP4 View
Hi All,
In MRP4 view, in discontinued part, if we set follow-up material, MRP will trigger requests for the follow –up material if the stock of existing material is zero.
Now there is a requirement, so that even though follow-up material is updated, system should be trigger any requirement for the existing one, though the stock is zero, ie, the follow up material is only for an information .
Is it possible ? can we do it with changing the effectively of date in eff.out (set it as future unlimited)

BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA can be used, populate the respective fields in input parameter PLANTDATA -

Could anyone please tell me in MRP4 view for a material,where is the option so that i can exclude or include the storage location stock from MRP?
and also in which T code i should indicate the material is provided by vendor/material provided by customer?In CS01wher's this option?

MRP area is nothing to do with storage locations settings in MRP4 view. If you want to activate MRP area and use the MRP run at MRP area level then you have to customized MRP area either at storage location level or sub-contractor level (in MRP master data settings )... then you need to assign this MRP1 view of the material and with valid MRP type. Now when you run the MRP then planning will be carried out at this MRP area for this part.
With storage location indicators in MRP4 view (must enter with putting the stoarge location values from MM02/MM03) you can exclude the stock of this storage location (indicator 1) in the palnning run or you can plan seperately with indicator2 with using re-order level. Here no need of MRP area.

We are using long term planning and want to change Average plant stock in MRP4 view.
Also we are implementation MDG. Now we cannot use MM02 and we have to follow change process to change anything in material master.
Is there is âny way to change calculated average plant stock shown in MRP4 view. ?Hi.
I can use MS29 to calculate the average stock. The average stock could be used ad initial stock on LTP scenario.
Than you can update it by material, if requested, directly from MM02.

I was unable to see the mentioned settings in <b>MM02</b>, even if I was specifying a SLOC.
I already did <b>SPRO ->MRP->Planning->Define Storage Location MRP per Plant</b> , but it will affect only materials created after the changinh.

This indicator is useful in case of sales order planning.
If u enter 2, in collective/individual for component, then in component stock requirement list u can see there is no reference to sales order.
That is commom stock will be consider by system.
If u enter indicator 1 or no entry, in MTO after creation of sales order, for component sales order stock will be created. U can see the sales order in component stock requirement list. The common stock of component will not consider the common stock. Pr will be generated for the component/ For this situation u have to transfer common stock material to sales order stock.It depends of the requirement of company. Where to check common stock or sales order stock.

Individual/Collective Requirements MRP4 View
I have a situation where my top level material (FERT) is a MTS item (reorder point planning). In the BOM is an intermediate (HALB). Due to the nature of my process I must have a 1:1 relation ship of the HALB to the FERT. However: as many have pointed out, where I have multiple production orders for the FERT, the MRP behavior is to combine multiple order reservations for the HALB into one planned order, regardless of the individual/collective requirement setting. There must be a way to get a planned order for each order reservation in this MTS situation. I know that I am not the only one who has this requirement. Any advice/expertise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Collective and ind indicator in mrp4 view
Hi, we are using strategy 20 (mto). For header material collective and individual indicator is not maintained. For item it is maintained as 1 (ind). We created one sales order and run md02 for header material. In this case mrp is considering the unrestricted stock and accordingly no pru2019s were generated. We changed to 2 for item material, again it considers stock qty in mrp run so no pru2019s generated. as I understand if ind is 1 for item, it should not consider the existing stock as it is not sales order specific. Please advise why system is considering the existing stock if 1 is set for item material.

The ind/Coll indicator is used to dispaly the requirements for a particular component in the following manner.
Individual requirements
Requirement quantities of the dependent material are stated individually for each header materials reqmnt.
Collective requirements
Requirement quantities of the dependent material are grouped together for all the materials.
Ind/Coll
All the MTO req are shown separately and MTO are grouped together
Hope this clarifdies your doubt. This indicator will not control whether the unrestricted stock is to be considered or not.

Hi, selected planning mode as adapt planning data (1) in mrp control parametrs. maintained 2 in ICI of mrp4 view and lot size as EX. Created one sales order for one fert material and delivery date maintained as 30.07.10 and run mrp, pr generatted for bom items. now created one more sales order for the same product with same delivery date. Now advise whether system should amend the existing pr qty by summing up the old and new sales order requirements or should create new pr along with the existing old pr? incase it is summing, what is the criteria for the system to combine the qty in single pr? pls advise.

if strategy 20 for header material & Indi/Coll indicator maintained as 2 for raw material
say two header materials having strategy 20 & having two sales orders on same date
then Run MRP with option delete & re-create planning data, you will get one PR for raw material

It is not possible to do in SAP if you give Individial/collective requirement as 2, It is possible if you give 1 but your point is that there will be more PRs in the system. Iit is not possible through customizing.
I would like to suggest you some options, which of course requires manual intervention.
1. Suppose system genrates purchase requistion of quantity 100,(if you maintain ici 2) then you need to split the pr quantity in to more line items and then specify the Account assignment as Sales order and specify the sales order number.
OR
1. You have to maintain the vaious sales order details in a Item text in PR.
Note: Make sure MRP is behaving correctly.

ISSUE:regarding production version tab of MRP4 of data transfer using BD10
Hi all,
This is regarding production version tab of MRP4 of data transfer using ALE idoc (BD10).
When i transfer the data using BD10 the production version is received at receiving end through segment
but not created in MRP4 view tab.An error is coming as-
"You wanted to maintain the master record of the material AB_06.04.09(2). However, it is already being processed by the user EBGABAP and is therefore locked."
I logged in as-EBGABAP
Please help me resolve the issue.

Open a Particular view in MM03
Hi all
I want to open the MRP4 view of MM03 (directly) by passing the value of Material plant & Storage loc to the tcode.
I have tried using the BAPI -> MATERIAL_MAINTAIN_DIALOUGE, but it opens the MRP1 view
any pointers will be helpful.

Automatic reorder point planning -forecast view

Our client want to implement automatic reorder point Planning.
Reorder point quantity was maitained from last 3 years but MRP type is 'ND' as they are not using MRP.
Now i am changing MRP type to:VM and in forecastting view: i maintained model as:D constant model period indicator:M
His periods:60 , forecast periods:12 initialization:X tracking limit:4000 selection procedure:2 reset automatically
Is it ok ? than can i run MP30. and the client wants to run for many materils(2000).
How can be run for many materials.?

In automatic re-order oint planning , system uses past consumption data (historical data) to forecast future requirements. The system then uses these forecast values to calculate the reorder level and the safety stock level, taking the service level, which is specified in MRP2 view, and the material's replenishment lead time into account, and transfers them to the material master.
Since the forecast is carried out at regular intervals, the reorder level and the safety stock level are continually adapted to the current consumption and delivery situation. This means that a contribution is made towards keeping stock levels low.
From MP30 you have to executed forecast and system has generated forecast values and updated safety stock and reorder point also. Only thing to remember is you have to maintain service level in MRP 2 view of material master when you use VM- MRP type to calculate safety stock and reorder point
Find bleow the set up following set up for automatic re-order point planning :
1.Material Master Set up : Maintain all the relevent parameters from MRP1 to MRP4 view , Forecasting View
1.MRP Type -VM , Lot Size -EX
2.Procurement Type -E for FG and F for ROH
3.Planning Startegy -10 or 40 in FG/SFG and 20 for componenet
4.Planned Delivery Time in MRP2 VIEW
5.Indiviaul/Collective Indicator - 1/2 based on your requirement in MRP4 View
6.BOM Explosion -Keep it blank
7.Service level percentage -MRP2 view
8.Maintain Forecastin view data like model selection , Histry period , period indicator , Forecast control pramaters ,
10.Make sure that you have min 12-8 monhts total consumption update in Forecasting view .
Configuration : InSPRO -MRP -Check MRP Type -VM-check the details like Re-Orde point .Safety Stock both the automatic calcvualtion box are marked .
Finally as a sample test , select any material -mm02-execute forecast in mm02-forecasting view -exectute forecast -then save .Run MRP in MD03-1,1,3,3,1.NETCH indicator and check the result in MD04
