ICloud access

Just upgraded to IOS 8 and cannot connect to iCloud to complete setup. Is the system overloaded? Trying to connect with 3 iPads and 2 iPhones, all have the same "error connecting" message.

It might be.  I had to try multiple times yesterday when I updated.

iOS iCloud access is a real flaw. There should be a way ic an use my mobile devices to access my iCloud content on the web. The push probably works if you are on a fits network, but ia m in a rural community and use my iPad as a laptop when I am working .Apple please fix this. It is unnecessary.
I miss steve. He was such a fascist for good design

What iCloud content are you trying to access that is not already on the iPad? Maybe I am misunderstanding your statement, but all of your iCloud content is already on the iPad. Why do you need to access your iCloud.com account on the web?

  • How exactly does the new iCloud accessing feature work?

I have heard that the new firmware allows access to any hard drives connected to an AirPort through iCloud.
How exactly does this feature work? Will the files be accessible on the web? Will I be able to mount the hard drive remotely if my computer is logged in with the same iCloud account?
Please clarify, as I am considering buying now.

The "magic" behind iCloud for accessing either your AirPort Extreme/Time Capsule or your Mac from the Internet is Back to My Mac (BtMM). For reference, iCloud replaced MobileMe.
Here are a few links for more details around BtMM:

  • How can others without iCloud access my calendar? there used to be a url available I could send them.

How can others access my calendar if they don't run iClound or if they have a PC?? there used to be a url available I could send them. Now when I test to by sharing with myself on my aol account it says I have to have iCloud

    lajones,
Read iCloud: Share a calendar or reminder list with others for sharing information.
Note that iCloud is required for other users if you want them to be able to share and edit your "Private" calendars. Shared "Public" calendars can be viewed, but not altered by anyone who has the URL.

  • HT4859 iCloud Access

How do I access the files in the iCloud so that I can see the photos and movies that are there?

iCloud doesn't store photos and movies for you to download or view  (unless you are using a shared photo stream).  You can backup these files as part of a regular icloud backup, but to get them back, you have to wipe your device and restore everything from the backup.

  • ICloud access for mail on MacBook Pros

Starting several days ago, email access via iCloud has been disrupted and will not connect.  Web access to iCloud is unimpaired.  Apple support indicates that the problem has been experienced by others using MacBook Pros--but not iPads or iPhone as is my case as well.
What is the status of this problem?  Why isn't there any public disclosure or discussion on the Apple Support web site?  When is the problem going to be addressed?
Any information from others affected by this problem would be appreciated.  Any status information from Apple would be especially appreciated.

There is no one from Apple here...just fellow users, like yourself. Apple does not respond to postings in these forums.

  • Icloud Access Denied

I no longer have the same email that I set my Icloud up with and now I cannot access iCloud. How to I change the email in order to back everything up and access my iCloud?

You are talking about the address you use as a login? This should work even if the email itself doesn't actual receive messages any more. However, you can change this login at http://appleid.apple.com - log in with the original address and you can change it to another non-Apple address.

  • Icloud access on iphone

I cannot access icloud on my iphone. message is check email to verify this account..there is no email verifying it. how do I do that? thanks

Probably because the veryify email  you used set up the account is NOT the one you are using now.  Are you sure that Apple ID you are trying to use with iCloud is really yours?

  • ICloud access thru MobileMe

Attempting to sync iPhone 5C with G5 running 10.5.8.  Can I access my iCloud acct via MobilMe?

You can't access iCloud through MobileMe.  iCloud requires OS X Lion (10.7.2) or higher in order to set up iCloud on your Mac, which I don't believe can be installed on a G5.  The system requirements for Lion are:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available space
You could, however, add your iCloud email account using these settings: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4864.

  • Icloud access - email, now

    Hi all,
I am panicking.. I connected to icloud to download a file today through a public terminal.
Six hours later (now) I cannot access me.com which is my main / professional email account.
I login fine with the same password to my appleID, so I have this feeling that the account was
hacked. Before disaster is complete, does anyone know where to call / what to do / urgently?
The Apple website does not seem to have live support any longer. I am based in Greece.
    Thanks to everyone who reads/responds!
    Chris

    Buona sera,
    Many thanks!
Roger, I noticed when I launced the Mail application. Password not recognized. Then I tried from the web, icloud.com, password not recognized! I am still hoping it's a server issue.. I have reset my AppleID password. Which will make things worse I am sure!!
Walter, same response, I am worried that Mail.app looks okay to you. On my side of things, both ways invalidate my password. I wonder whether there is anyone I could call before my rich email account with 10,000s of messages evaporates.
    Thank you again

  • ICloud access problems

When I try to access my iCloud account it says valid apple id but not an icloud account

Same issue here. There was a post from a few months ago, and it appears that many people have had this same problem for a few months now. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3377830?start=135&tstart=0
I'm not sure why we haven't been effected by it until now though.

  • I am missing a folder called "Mobile Documents" for iCloud access

In today's (1/21/13) OSX daily, they talk about a cool, free utility/app called Plain Cloud at which gives easy desktop access and  syncing to iCloud from the desktop like DropBox. They talk about a folder that’s inside the user Library folder called "Mobile Documents" which needs to be accessed. There is no folder by that name in either my user Library or System Library folder, or in fact anywhere on my drive and therefore when I try to run Plain Cloud, I get an error message saying that it "can't find iCloud folder". Since my iCloud is apparently set up properly and I can access it from icloud.com and thru iTunes, why would this "Mobile Documents" folder be missing from my user Library folder and how can I add it so I can use the Plain Cloud utility?
    Thanks,
    JAY

What do you mean access icloud through itunes?
Are you successfully able to sync some Apple data via itunes (like contacts or calendars)?  If you haven't tried yet, it's possible your mac isn't yet connected to icloud (being able to access icloud.com means nothing in this case).
System Preferences>icloud, have you turned any of these services on and have you signed into icloud?

  • HT1338 No iCloud access

I have a Mac Pro (June 2012) with Mountain Lion. I recently got an iPhone so I started using iCloud to sync. But on my Mac I don't have iCloud in System Preferences where it should be. It doesn't show and I can't access it to start Find My iPhone for example. I don't know what's wrong.

What version of OSX is on your Mac Pro.
    Apple Menu>About This Mac
And are you sure you have a Mac Pro, and not a portable, such as a MacBook Pro?

  • ICloud access with an incompatible mac

Today my iPhone 4 was stolen, thrown out the window of a car on the interstate and run over. I had pictures from Europe on there that I never downloaded anywhere because my mac is too old to be compatible with the iPhone 4. I had photo stream and an iCloud account. If I was never able to link the account to another device, are my photos gone forever? Do my photos even get stored onto iCloud without being connected to another device? I am not quite sure what iCloud is/does. Am I wrong to believe my photos are suspended in some internet database?

iCloud automatic uploads photos to photo stream when the camera app is closed, it is connected to wifi and has at least 20% battery life remaining.  If those conditions were met while the photos were in your camera roll, they would have been added to your photo stream.  However, iCloud only keeps these photos for 30 days.  If the photos were added during the last 30 days it may be possible to access them from another iOS device or computer that is signed into your iCloud account with photo stream enabled.  If you plan on replacing the phone, you may want to do so soon while these photos may still be in iCloud.
If you were backing up the phone to iCloud, your camera roll photos would be included in the backup.  You may be able to recover them if you restore the backup to a replacement iPhone.  Backups are held in iCloud for 180 days if the device stops backing up.  After that, Apple retains the right to delete them.

  • Icloud access error

I am not able to access icloud from my pc, it says "icloud encountered an error while trying to connect to the server",  is anyone else having the same issue?

I have been having the same problem.  It began last night, I was connecting fine and then I started receiving the connection error report.   From my reading of messages on Apple Support, this problem has been reported a few times over the past few months. I tried again just a few minutes ago and I am still getting the connection error.
