ICloud account deletion issues

I started an iCloud account but now have discovered that the syncing across all devices does not work for me. On the iPhone I deleted the account, but not it will not "let go" of the dead Apple ID...

Try it this way instead ...  Try verifying by signing in at My Apple ID. You should receive an email prompting you to verify.
If that doesn't help, try resetting your Apple iD password >  Apple - My Apple ID

  • Does deleting your ICloud account delete it on any other devices you're using it on?

My family shares our Apple ID, but I want to delete the families iCloud account, from my ipad only, and replace it with a new one. If I press delete account, does anything change with the other devices?

Seriously, no one has an answer for this? I need to do the same thing but not sure if 'Delete Account' will delete the account from existence or just from the iPad. I need it to be the latter.

  • Two iCloud accounts - delete?

I seem to have two iCloud accounts.  I know there is much dicsussion but allmy devices are setup for my regular e-mail iCloud account.  The other on my iMac shows @me as the default iCloud account.  What ahppens if I just delete the @me account and what are the consequences?  Seems it may be impacting the calendars I see on my iPad.  Thanks

Just use your regular e-mail iCloud account, you must sign in with this account to iCoud, you can't use two iCloud accounts at the same time, but you can switch between them if needed.

  • ICloud Account Delete

Hi, I`m Using iOs 8.0.2 On iPhone 4s. i have activated maximum numbers of free accounts on this iPhone. How I Can Set Up New iCloud Accoun? Can I Buy New Or Delete My Old Account ? I`ve Tried
English isn`t My Mother Language And Sorry For Mistakes ...

You will lose the data stored in the iCloud account - like contacts, reminders, calendars, etc.  Photos will not be erased.  I'd sync to itunes before connecting to the new icloud account to be safe.

  • Will deleting my icloud account delete the pictures, contacts, etc. currently in my unsynced iphone?

I want to change the appleid associated with my icloud account so that my wife's and my contacts and calendars aren't shared shared, while leaving a common store account so that our apps and music are shared.
When I start to delete the iclooud account so that i can set up a new one with a different appleid I get the very frightening warning:"If you delete your account all documents stored in icloud will be deleted from this iphone."
Yikes! Definitely don't want to lose all the history and pics on the phone. Do I need to sync and backup before deleting the icloud account?  Or will I lose that data too?  Thanks for any help with this...

  • HT1918 ITunes & iCloud account change issue.

My iTune and iCloud accounts are on 4 devices—2 mine and 2 my son's. He's now over 18 and would like a new account in his name. How should he do it without either of us losing previous purchases and data?

An app purhased under an Apple ID, is tied to that one for life.

  • ICloud account verification issues

Under Manage My Account,  message says I need to Verify Account. This does not work but rather takes me to the Verification screen that is greyed out and not responsive.  Any ideas?

  • If I delete my iCloud account, will my original Sprint contacts delete also?

I have 100's of contacts in my iPhone from my Sprint account.
When iCloud happened, additional contacts came into my iPhone from my old Mac Mail address book, which Apple did it without asking.
Now I have a lot of duplicate contacts - many of which have different name configurations.
    So, question:
If I delete my iCloud account (I'm switching to Gmail), will ALL the contacts be deleted as well, even the ones I had from my Sprint account?
Because when I choose "turn off contacts" in my iCloud settings on my iPhone, ALL of the contacts disappeared, including the Sprint contacts.  And I need these for making "phone calls", like the old days.
IF deleting iCloud account deletes ALL my contacts, then I have another question:  Can I export my contacts from my iPhone 4 and then RE-import them when I switch to Gmail?

    Moving to Gmail.  I'm done

  • Am I forced to have 2 iCloud accounts?

I used to have a Mobile Me account. When iCloud arrived, the username and password for my Mobile Me account became my username and password for my iCloud account. This seemed logical and I thought this was my only iCloud account. My username remained my Mobile Me e-mail address----xxxx@me (or .mac).com----which I did not use very much and was not my primary e-mail address.
Separately, I also had an Apple ID with its own username and password. The Apple ID is, of course, for purchasing music and apps and the username was my primary e-mail address on my [email protected]. My primary e-mail address is attached to the account that I have with my internet service provider. The password that I have for my Apple ID is a different password than the one I use for iCloud.
I did not think I that my Apple ID would be associated with an iCloud account. I didn't set up an iCloud account with my Apple ID and I didn't want an iCloud account associated with my Apple ID.
Why the **** would I want 2 iCloud accounts when the whole purpose of iCloud is that everything is synced to one system?
However, when I tried to turn on Photo Stream in iPhoto on my desktop iMac I was told that I could only access it with my "primary" iCloud account and that was connected to my Apple ID. My iMac told me that what I thought was my only iCloud account---the one I inherited from Mobile Me---was in fact my "secondary" account.
My iMac further suggested that if I wanted to make this "secondary" account my "primary" account I would have to do the following:
To use this Apple ID as your primary iCloud account, delete it from Mail, Contacts & Calendars and sign in again.
I wasn't sure exactly what this meant, but I went into Mail, Contacts and Calendar and disabled the iCloud accounts in each one of them even though these accounts did not seem to be tied to one user name or password.
In any event, it didn't work. I can't make Photostream on my iMac work with Photostream on my IOS devices. I can't make my "secondary" account my "primary" account. I can't seem to have just one iCloud account that works on my iMac, my iPhone and my iPad.
Can anybody help to shed some light on this?
    Sir Leicester

There are two places you can log into an iCloud account: System Preferences>iCloud and System Preferences>Mail, Contacts and Calendars. The former is the primary account and the latter is the secondary account. Only the primary account can access PhotoStream, so it's there that you need to be signed in with your iCloud account. Your other Apple ID, which you use for iTunes, is completely separate from all this and you will have to continue to use it for iTunes, iTunes Match and iTunes in the Cloud, and the @me.com ID for iCloud.

You don't have to "setup" the account. Just sign on with your MMe account ID.

  • IOS 7 Delete iCloud Account issues...

I changed my iCloud email address about 6 months ago but forgot to delete the old iCloud account on my iPad mini and log into with the new one before I installed iOS 7. Now, because of the enhanced security with iOS 7, I am unable to delete the "old" iCloud account because it prompts me to sign in to delete the account but when I do it tells me my user name or password is wrong...I know it's the user name because that user name no longer exists. So how can I ever delete the defunct account if I can't sign in???
Basically, my iCloud account was XYZ@sbcglobal... and now it's XYZ@gmail. Help!
    <Email Edited by Host>

If you still have access to your old email address, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your iCloud ID.  Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email account and verify it.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  You can now go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your correct iCloud ID and password.
If you don't have access to your old email address, you will have to contact Apple to have them reset the password so you can disable Find My iPhone and sign into your iCloud account.  You can either go to https://expresslane.apple.com, select "More Products and Services", then "Apple ID", then  on the next page select "Other Apple ID Topics", then "Lost or forgotten Apple ID password" and click "Continue"; or you can contact Apple Support (http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/).

  • We use our Iphones with the icloud to set up scheduling of jobs. Multiple phones share the same icloud for this purpose. We recently had a change in leadership. How do I completely delete the icloud account? Or do I just create a new one/forget old 1

Multiple phones share one Icloud account. We use it to schedule jobs and crew leaders read the cloud to get the information of the job that needs to be done. However, we recently had a change of leadership and we think this person might have logged into or put our cloud on his phone to sabotage our business. I changed the password but that didn't fix the situation. I could put a job on the cloud with an old phone that was logged in with the old password and everyone with the new password would still see the job. I have since created a whole new cloud account which seems to have eliminated the "future" issue of sabotage however I would like to completely eliminate that old account...any advise?

Everyone needs to go to Settings (or System Preferences)>iCloud and click 'Delete account' or 'Sign out' as applicable (it's the same thing). Then they can sign into the new account you have created and proceed from there. You can't actually delete the old account from the server but you can just ignore it.

  • How do I delete a current icloud account so I can try again to set one up using my original apple id?

when I first downloaded the os icloud would not allow me to use my existing apple id to create an account. this even though the id is an email account. so I went ahead and established a new one. now I realize that was a poor choice. shoud I just delete the new iCloud account and try again to use my existing apple id?
will deleting the current iCloud account cause any issues with my iPad apps?
    Thanks

OK found the answer in anothe discussion thread. On iPad, delete existing account by going to settings-iCloud-and tap red delete account bar. Sign in with the Apple id you want to use. This worked for me this time. Even though when I first tried to set up the iCloud account, I got error messages and thus was forced into creating the new id.
    Anyhow, success.

  • Delete all calendars from an iCloud account

    Hi  Support Communities,
did anyone find a way to delete all calendars from an iCloud account? It seems that iCloud wants to keep at least one calendar. We use several accounts and one is only used to look at shared calendars from other accounts. So there is no need for its own empty calendar. On iOS I just hid this calendar, but on OS X it is always visible. I unchecked it, but it would be nice if I could just delete it. If I do so on an iOS device it is gone, but reappears later. Trying to delete it on a Mac results in an error that it can’t be deleted, same goes for the web interface at icloud.com. It’s just a cosmetic issue, but I would prefer it to be gone altogether. Any ideas?
    Thanks
    Björn

I had hoped I was wrong, you never know. Well, thanks anyway!

  • I am having serious issues trying to alter my old iCloud account with an old non-functioning email to my new apple id with a new email address. The message keeps coming up on all my apple products with my old email (which is not available anymore).

I am having serious issues trying to alter my old iCloud account with an old non-functioning email to my new apple id with a new email address. The message keeps coming up on all my apple products with my old email (which is not available anymore).

I have the same problem - it is maddening. I rely on this iPad for work so this is not just an annoyance! The above solutions of changing the appleid on the device or on the website do not work.
The old email address no longer exists - I haven't used it in a year probably and I no longer have the account.  I logged into the appleid website and there is no trace of the old email address so there is nothing that can be deleted or changed there.  On the iPad there is no trace of the old email address so nothing can be deleted there either. I have updated the iPad software and the same problem comes right back.  Every 2 seconds I am asked to log in using the old non-existent email.  The device is currently useless.
The only recent change to anything was the addition of an Apple TV device, which was set up using the correct login and password.
Does anyone have any ideas? The iPad has been backed up to the iCloud so presumably it now won't recognize the current iCloud account? So restoring may notbe an option?
