Icloud add-in causes outlook appointment formatting issue

When the iCloud add-in is enabled my Inset Tab & Formatting Tab disappear in Outlook 2007. The right click menu is also gone. There must be a compatiblity issue with the Microsoft Word Editor engine inside of the Outlook Appointment Editor.

Had this problem myself Windows 7 and Outlook 2010, iCloud 2 turns off the formatting option in Outlook Calendar appointments so unable to copy/paste from other applications into Outlook appointment notes field, terrible software design in my opinion. Quite a few postings on this on the internet but something to do with iCloud only supporting 'rich text format' and I don't think they will fix this one. Anyway my solution as follows worked for me. Sign out of iCloud in Control Panel on your computer (ok to back up on PC). Uninstall iCloud 2 from add/remove programs. Go to CNET downloads or another trustworthy site and download iCloud version 1.1. Restart PC. Install iCloud 1.1, sign back into iCloud and tick the relevant boxes you want to sync between Outlook and the iCloud server. Once sync done all should work fine. If you run the Apple Software Update program it will want to install iCloud 2 again but just ignore. Good luck.

Can ANYONE run ICloud 3.1 with Outlook 2013 ?
I am not going to be taking extreme measures to fix this, but I would like to be able to sync contacts and notes. Any reasonable suggestions.

  • ICloud Outlook add-in causes Outlook to hang for 30-120 seconds each time I enter the Calendar.

The iCloud add-in for Outlook seems to be causing some issues with my Outlook calendar: each time I go from the Mail tab to the Calendars tab, Outlook freezes for a minute or two and then resumes functioning.
The problem is definitely with the iCloud add-in itself: if I disable the add-in, my iCloud calendars still appear (but do not sync), and Outlook works fine. The freeze does not seem to happen the first time I go into Calendar after starting Outlook, but every subsequent time it does happen.
I am using Outlook 2010 (32-bit) on Windows 7 (64-bit). I do not know and haven't been able to figure out how to tell if I'm running 32 or 64 bit Apple software on this computer.
I would appreciate any help, and particularly any thoughts on what the iCloud add-in is actually doing at the moment you go into Calendar view that might be causing problems. Does it sync at that time (and apparently in a poorly designed way)? Or is it just some rendering or other similar issue?

The sync can be very long, nbut only when you sign in from the Control panel. Once you're in Outlook, I don't think you sync that much.
I have the same issue using my old PC. Maybe you should check your hard drive, your memory usage and CPU usage. I fixed it by a new laptop, last year. Usually, this is a sign that you're short on memory and you're using the Windows page system memory file. So, your CPU might come short, your hard drive might be too slow or you don't have enough memory..  Otherwise, your hard drive may be too slow and very fragmented, reqyuiing Windows to spin a lot and read bits of files stored everywhere. The solution would be to defragment your hard drive. or worse.. it's a slow hard drive or showing sign of fatigue.
I'll go with defragmenting the hard drive first, then, the CPU and memory bump.

  • Where can I download the icloud add in for Outlook 2010 for PC?

I recently purchased Outlook 2010 and I don't seem to have the iCloud add in and I can't figure out where to download it. I'm using Windows 7.

I have done that. When I try to synch my contacts and calendar I get the message: "Setup can't continue because Outlook isn't configured to have a default profile. Check your Outlook settings and try again."
But I do have Outlook configured with a default profile. When I follow the rabbit trail of troubleshooting it comes down to checking to make sure the iCloud add in is active. When I check that, not only is it not active - it's not there. Thus my original question: Where can I get the iCloud add in for Outlook?

  • How do i get the icloud add in for outlook 2010 64 bit

I am running windows 7 64 bit and outlook 2010 64 bit. I had the icloud add in installed but it became corrupted, so i removed it, but now my iphone calendar does not sync with outlook and i need to find a way to download and reinstall a functioning add in.

  • Icloud add-in for outlook does not load

I have the sync working for calendar and contacts between icloud and Outlook--  but when I close Outlook, the icloud Add-in for Outlook does not load--  the icloud label does not appear on the ribbon at top of Outlook.  I must go to File> Options> Add-ins> Manage Com Add-ins---  and manually check iCloud Addin to get it loaded.  It will not load at start-up automatically as it should.

I struggled with this but found the answer.  You need to set the LoadBehaviour property in the Registry to 2 (Load at Start Up).
    Run RegEdit
    Navigate to here [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins\Apple.DAV.addin]
LoadBehaviour will probably be sitting at 0.  Double click that to open, change it to 2 and you're done.
Open Outlook, the Add-in will probably still be inactive.  MAke it active, close Outlook, open it again and it should work...

  • Outlook 2010 iCloud Add-In causes emails not to send

I just started using iCloud to migrate my Outlook 2010 contacts and calendar to iCloud and then to my iPhone 5s.
There's an intermittent problem (although I can now make it happen, so not so intermittent anymore) where my emails will not send unless I disable the iCloud Add-In.  They appear as Drafts (not italicized in my Outbox) and will not send until I disable the iCloud Add-In, and go back into them and click 'Send' again.
Disabling my iCloud Add-In means that my Contacts and Calendar do not update to iCloud (and thus not to my phone either), so I have to be careful to remember to enable the iCloud Add-In immediately after getting my emails sent.
Does anyone have this problem and/or a fix for it?

    Thanks all.

  • How to customize iCloud add-in for Outlook?

I am using the iCloud plug-in for Outlook 2010 under Windows 7.  Everything works great.  New appointment default to the iCloud Calendar, and I can see them on my iOS devices.
The problem is that I am visually impaired, and want to change the default appointment settings.  I want to specify the "Blue Category" by default, as this is easier for me to see.  If I didn't have the iCloud add-in, then I would create a custom Form in Outlook, and set the default.  The problem is that Form editor doesn't allow me to specify iCloud as the default calendar.
So how do I modify the default iCloud appointment form used in Outlook??
    Thanks!

  • ICloud add in to outlook 2013 crashes

I have recently installed Microsoft Office 365 on my windows 7 office computer and am having a problem with outlook crashing when I search my contacts. Outlook has reported that the error is with the iCloud add in and I confirmed this by using outlook in safe mode, it does not crash in this mode.
I had been using iCloud to sync with my iPhone 5 and iPad 3 without any problem when using outlook 2007.
It is not the end of the world and I can work around it by not searching contacts however it would be nice to have a fix.
    Any ideas will be appreciated.

  • I can't enable the icloud add-in on outlook 13

    Hi,
I am operating on Windows 8 and using outlook 13.  For no explainable reason my outlook calendar stopped syncing with icloud.  I suspect that outlook automatically disabled the icloud add in.  I have found the add in is disabled and I am unable to check it and add it back in.  It lands me in an empty explorer window with no files to select to add.
I have tried reloading the icloud control panel.  I have tried this as the administrator.  Can someone please help!
    Thanks

    Greetings rodrocket,
To access iCloud features on a Mac one must be using at least OS X Lion 10.7.5. This will add the iCloud system preference pane and allow you to sync data between your devices. I have linked to an article which explains the iCloud requirements in greater detail:
System requirements for iCloud - Apple Support
To use iCloud, you need at least iOS 5 on iPhone 3GS, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPad, or iPad mini; or at least OS X Lion v10.7.5 on a Mac.
Thank you for contributing to Apple Support Communities.

  • ICloud Add-in for OUtlook 2013 not loading

I am tryng to sync Outlook 2013 (WIndows 7 Ultimate 64 bit)  with iCloud. It will just not load the Add-in!
I cna see the Add-in reference in the Registry. Apple.DAV.Addin is in  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins. Load behaviour is set to 3 as recommended. (I've tried it on 2 as well)
How is it that it the iCloud Add-in does NOT appear when I go into "View and Manage Log-ins" in Outlook? It appears under NEITHER 'Enabled' NOR 'Disabled' categories.
I am desperate to get this resolved... Can anyone throw any light on it ? Please?
Not sure what is rubbish.... iCloud or Outlook!
    Best wishes

PS I have tried logging out of iCloud and signing back in.... probably a dozen times so far.. but with no success in solving this problem. I have also re-installed both iCloud AND Outlook. nothing works! SO PLEASE don't suggest those routes!
