ICloud and Apple ID (iTunes) accounts and Apple TV

I have an iCloud account and use photo streaming.  I also have an iTunes Apple ID with all my music, movies, etc.  My Apple TV is connected to my iTunes account, of course, so I can access my music in the cloud (I have iTunes Match).  It works wonderfully, but what doesn't work are my photos.  How do I access my photos on my MacBook Air on my Apple TV in such a case?

That is correct. That is how the content is transmitted. If the computer is off or asleep there is nothing for the ATV to see.
Mountain Lion enables mirroring (on recent Macs), which is different. This transmits everything that you see on your Mac onto the ATV in real time.
Basic airplay is only for audio/video stored within iTunes that is in a format ATV can recognize.
iCloud access would enable you to stream past purchases of Movies and TV shows as well as Photo stream. If you subscribe to iTunes match you can then access your music directly as well.

  • I registered my iphone4s on icloud with my own itunes account and it has found my partners itunes account. And Siri keeps calling me by her name!! I want us to have seperate accounts!!

I registered my Iphone4s on icloud with my seperate login account and wanted to create my own profile. But now it has found my partners login and when I use SIRI i get references from SIRI that my name is hers.......eg ; I don't understand you JULIE. But my name is male........
If this an indication of what I can expect ........then be warned APPLE I am not happy!!!!!!!!!
    HELP!!!!!!

    WoodyK,
If you are going to use your iTunes account as you and your partners iCloud account then you need to go into each phone and change your settings.  In messages, you need to change from iCloud to the phone number.  Create a contact with your unformation and re-train Siri with your name.  Let me know if this helps.

  • I have updated my ipod to the most recent ios and i dont! want or need the icloud, so in the options are 1) storage and backup 2) delete account. if i choose delete account is that just cancelling my icloud or my entire itunes account?

So i have updated to the most recent ios and dont need icloud, when i go to the settings, i have the choices storage and backup or delete account. if i choose delete account will i delete the itunes account i use for music?

No, you will only delete the iCloud account from your phone, nothing else.  If you are syncing any data with iCloud, be sure to choose Keep on My iPod when prompted.  Otherwise, the data will be deleted from your iPod.

  • Can I pay my iCloud bill with my iTunes account?

I do not use a credit card, I buy iTunes cards and upload them to my iTunes account...

You can only use a credit card for iCloud storage.  Although it does use your same Apple ID account, iTunes credits can only be used towards the iTunes or App Store, not iCloud Storage Plans.

  • How can I link my iCloud identity to my iTunes account?

I signed for itunes in the early 2000's and icloud some years later with a different user name and password. It always gives me trouble-the wrong identity alwys pops up on ios devices and downloads. I now have match and genius, gift accounts for children and grandchildren and all manner of confusion. I would like to link the two accounts, but I haven't been able to find a way. If I try to simply merge the user names I am prevented from doing so by the iTunes account.

Publish your iCloud calendar to your Google account using BusyCal.

How do I transfer my @me email address to a different Apple ID?  My current Apple ID is @gmail.  End game is that I would like to separate my icloud email from my itunes account purchases (separate accounts with separate passwords.  Thanks in advance.

And if you can't transfer @me address, can you at least have a separate password for the email account.  My family has made all itunes purchases through my Apple ID and I would like them to still have access, but I do not want them to have access to my email account.  Thank you

  • IPhone 4s & iPhone4 using one iTune account via iCloud??

Hi, I have an iPhone4s and my wife has an iPhone4. I've just brought iMatch to convert my music to iCloud. Can both me and my wife use iCloud for the one iTunes account? My wifes phone seems to have the iCloud symbol next to each album but I don't on my phone. Any help would be great.

    Welcome to the Apple community.
Yes providing that both phones are logged into the same iTunes account, then they can both use iTunes match.
Check on your phone under settings> music, that iTunes match is turned on.

  • Removing device from iTunes account

I am told you can only have a certain number of devices associated with an iTunes library. How do I remove devices I no longer own that are associated with my account (iPhone 4, iPod Classic)?

  • My partner and I have now both got an apple mac we share the same itunes account but want to use different icloud id's so that I dont get all her documents sync to my computer... is this possible?

my partner has an ipad and i have a mac book pro... we share the same itunes account (apple id) but believe we can have a seperate apple id for use of the icloud... we do not want each others documents to be in sync with ipad and mac book... help? thanks

Each of you should set up your separate iCloud account on your own computer using your Apple ID. This gives you two independent iCloud accounts.
Note that an iPad is not a multi-user device. It can only be synced with one account.

  • If two people use one computer, but we have separte itunes accounts, Apple ID, and icloud will my apps I get be stored in their account too since we are using the same computer?

If two people share the same computer, but have separate itunes account, Apple ID, and icloud and one of them downloads an app will it also go into the other persons account since y'all use the same computer

If you  have separate user accounts on the computer, then your downloaded apps are stored in your iTunes Library. See the following for dealing with having multiple users on the same computer: How to use multiple iPhone, iPad, or iPod devices with one computer.
Using More than One iDevice on the Same Computer
This applies mainly to couples who are adding another device and do not want their email, messages, etc. being duplicated on both devices. To begin read: How to use multiple iPhone, iPad, or iPod devices with one computer. You need to establish a separate Apple ID and password for whomever will use the new iDevice. See Apple - My Apple ID and Frequently asked questions about Apple ID. The easiest way is to do this on the computer using iTunes: iTunes- How to set up an Apple ID within iTunes.
On the computer create a new user account for the person with the new iDevice. This will be the user account that person will always use. He/She will no longer use the other user account. This way that person will have a separate iTunes Library
Start by transferring the new device(s) to a new account along with all your data.  Save any photo stream photos that you want to keep to your camera roll (unless they are already in the camera roll) by opening your Photos app, tap on Albums icon at the bottom. Now, tap on My Photo Stream album; tap Select; tap on the photos you want to select;, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow) in the lower left corner; then tap Save to Camera Roll.
If you are syncing notes with iCloud that you want to keep then you need to open each of your notes and email them to yourself. Later you can copy and paste the text into new notes created in your new account.
Tap on Settings > iCloud > Delete Account (only deletes it from this device, not from iCloud; the person keeping the current account will not be affected,) provide the password to turn off Find My Phone and choose Keep on My iDevice when prompted.  Sign in with a different Apple ID to create your new account. Choose Merge to upload your data.
Once you are on separate accounts, you can each go to icloud.com and delete the other person's data from your account.
Note: The essence of the above was created by user, randers4. I

  • Wife and I each have 1-iphone & 1-ipad all synced to 1-computer/ 1-itunes account. Should wife have own icloud, itunes account and apple ID?

Please bear with me as I am not a super advanced user. I have seen variations of this question during my search, but nothing that seems to fit my exact situation.
    I have: ipad 2 & iphone 5. Wife has: ipad 1 & iphone 4S.
I have an Apple ID, itunes account, icloud account. Wife does not
I have itunes set up on my PC only and I sync all 4 of the devices to it using my itunes account. (Wife has a work PC at home, but does not have itunes on it)
So what is the best way to set up these devices to allow for idividual usage, yet being able to put purchased apps on any device?
Should my wife have her own icloud account so pitures she takes on her iphone get uploaded via photo stream to her ipad?
Does my wife need her own apple ID or itunes account?
    Thanks in advance!

To keep purchases seperate and any syncing via iCloud
seperate, yes, the wife must have a seperate AppleID.
As far as keeping other content seperate and different,
you should create a seperate account on the PC for the
wife  (if she doesn't or can't install iTunes on her computer).
Then her iTunes->PC syncing will be kept seperate and in
    her own user directories.

  • I just created an iCloud email and I want to use that email for my iTunes account as well. I need help suiting the old apple I'd because I do not remember anything associated with that email and I don't know the security questions

I just created an iCloud email and I want to use that email for my iTunes account as well. I need help switching the old apple ID because I do not remember anything associated with that email and I don't know the security questions or the login for that old email.

You cannot do that.  The AppleID you used to create the iCloud account is an active primary email address.  The email address you created with the iCloud account is also an active primary email address (all Apple domain email address automatically become AppleIDs as well).  You cannot replace the primary email address on one active AppleID with the primary email address on another, active AppleID.
You can use your iCloud email/AppleID with iTunes, but it will be a separate account, so all your previous purchases remain tied to the other AppleID you have.
I don't understand your statement that you could not remeber your old AppleID password, as you would have had to use it to create the iCloud account in the first place (the first step of creating the iCloud account required you to login with your existing AppleID and password)?
