ICloud and Apple TV issues

I cant seem to get my previously purchased TV shows, movies on icloud to appear on my apple tv. Any suggestions. I searched this site without much success

Being in UK I'm not 100% certain but Music yes, TV Shows I think so, and Movies currently no.
If they are on the cpmputer or can be accessed in Purchased in iTunes to download to iTunes then they could stream from iTunes to the AppleTV2 over the LAN.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Your Apple ID and iCloud email address don't need to be the same, you can't change an iCloud email address.
Also check your Mail rules and filtering, the verification mail may be going to a junk folder or even being deleted altogether. You may also wish to contact your mail provider to see if their spam filters are removing the email before it gets to you.

I have tried to change my User id which is an email address I no longer want to use. Now I am constantly getting requests from icloud and Apple ID for my password and cant get into my icloud account.

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • ICloud and Apple ID info no longer available on iPod Touch

I have been using iCloud to back up my iPod for the last couple of months. Suddenly in the last couple of days under Settings on my iPod Touch 4th gen. iCloud is no longer available (visible but greyed out), and under Settings/iTunes my Apple ID: ... is greyed out and I can't access the information. This happened after I set up a second computer at home to access iTunes and download music etc. Can anyone tell me why and how to fix this?

You're wonderful! I changed it from Don't Allow to Allow and iCloud and Apple ID info are now available again. Had checked in here myself but didn't realise that this was the problem. Thanks!

  • Can anyone help with icloud and apple accounts getting mixed up on 2 phones?

Basically husband upgraded from 4s to 5c. Gave dad 4s. I tried to set his dad up with icloud and apple id but didn't realise husbands old sim card was in 4s. Now neither phone works and husband very annoyed his apple id and password don't work anymore. Please help!!!

    Hi Chris
So husband got new phone. Was all set up and up and running when we left the shop
Gave dad the old phone. It was locked to Vodafone so we had to ask them to unlock. He then got his three sim cut down to fit.
Weeks after husband had his 5c we went to dads to set his 4s up. I upgraded it to latest software iOS something. Anyway didn't realise it was husbands old sim still in phone.
After upgrade it asked me to set up apple account (I think) could have been icloud. Anyway I started setting it up with dads email and password choice. Husband then saw message on his 5c saying his dads email was being added to something on his phone.
At this point I left alone but now when husband tries to use his apple id for apps etc it says invalid user id or password. It's as though the 2 have got mixed up. Bit it won't let him reset his password?
    Does this make sense?

  • HT204053 how to merge iCloud and Apple IDs?

How can I merge my iCloud and Apple ID's?

I just got off the phone with Apple's support (got transferred several times, but they finally transferred me to an "expert" in the security department.
I'm moving to the east coast, and my current ISP is only local to the California Bay Area, so I need to use a new email address for my AppleID.  I thought the obvious choice would be my icloud.com email address.
The Apple support "expert" was confused, but eventually said I'd need to create a non-apple email to use as my email address for my existing AppleID if I didn't want two separate ID's.
My response was "So Apple is recommending that I do NOT use iCloud and I should create an non-Apple email account?"  He said "Unfortunately, yes."
Come on Apple - you look riduculous.  You're abandoning loyal long time customers by saying either create and manage two AppleID's or don't use "iCloud" so you can have a single AppleID.
It's time for Apple to step up and fix this ridculous mess.

  • ICloud and Apple TV

With iCloud and Apple TV, if I have purchased tv shows, music or movies that aren't on my computer can they be streamed from iCloud directly to the Apple TV or would they have to be on my computer?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
If you are unable to remember your password, security questions, don’t have access to your rescue address or are unable to reset your password for whatever reason, your only option is to contact Apple ID Support, upon speaking to an operator you should explain that your problem is related to your Apple ID, this way you will not be charged for assistance, even if you don’t have an AppleCare plan.
The operator will take you through some steps you may have already tried, however they need to be sure they have exhausted all usual approaches before trying to reset your account, so you should try to be helpful and show patience with the procedure.
The operator will need to verify they are speaking to the account holder and may ask you some questions that only the account holder could know, and you will need to answer them if the process is to proceed.
Once the operator has verified your identity they will send a message through to your device which contains an alpha numeric code, which you will need to read back to them.
Once this has been completed they will send an email to your iCloud email address after a period of 24 hours, so you should check that mail is enabled in your devices iCloud settings.
Upon receipt of the email, use the reset link provided to reset your password, after which you should be able to make the adjustments to iCloud that you wish to do.

  • I have signed in iCloud and Apple Id with two different accounts and forgot the password of iCloud's account so what should I do?

I have signed in iCloud and Apple Id with two different accounts on my Iphone 4S and forgot the password of iCloud's account and I am unable to reset the password of it,so what should I do?

    iCloud: Change your iCloud password
If you forgot your Apple ID password - Apple Support
Apple ID: Contacting Apple for help with Apple ID account security - Apple Support
A forgotten iCloud password as above can go to http://iforgot.apple.com and sign in with the same ID they use for iCloud to enter the password reset process.

  • What is the best DNS server for iCloud and Apple services?

Hello. Im wondering what is the best DNS server to use with iCloud, and apple services.
Does apple have a dedicatrd DNS server?
I read a couple of articles stating that the google DNS servers like 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 slow down apple and facebook services.
Did a couple of tests like iTunes streaming and found out that its true in some cases.

    Not always!
Found what i was shearching for:

  • Icloud and Apple ID

I changed my email address after it was hacked, my new email was then linked to my apple ID . My iphone prompts me to sign in on the old Apple ID
which I cannot do as I do not have the password? After changing password 4/5 times on my new apple ID and plugging into laptop and doing a back up
I can still not get rid of the old Apple ID, and am unable to sign in to icloud on my phone. Any thoughts?

    Hello again, ninjainblue.
Thanks for letting me know the link wasn't working for you. If you are still having issues bringing up the link, here is what the information that Knowledge Base article provides:
    Update to iOS 7.1
If you're not using iOS 7.1, install the update, then try signing out of iCloud again. If you're still asked for the password to your previous Apple ID, continue to the next step.
Use your current Apple ID password
Try using your current Apple ID password to sign out. If that doesn't work, continue to the next step.
Sign out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime
If you're currently signed in to iMessage or FaceTime
Sign out of iMessage or FaceTime:
iMessage: Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive, tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
FaceTime: Go to Settings > FaceTime, tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
Sign back in to iMessage or FaceTime:
iMessage: Go to Settings > Messages, then tap "Use your Apple ID for iMessage".
FaceTime: Go to Settings > FaceTime, then tap "Use your Apple ID for FaceTime".
You should now be able to sign out of iCloud. You'll still see your previous Apple ID when signing out.
If you're not signed in to iMessage or FaceTime
Sign in to iMessage or FaceTime:
iMessage: Go to Settings > Messages, then tap "Use your Apple ID for iMessage".
FaceTime: Go to Settings > FaceTime, then tap "Use your Apple ID for FaceTime".
You should now be able to sign out of iCloud. You'll still see your previous Apple ID when signing out.
    Change your Apple ID temporarily
If signing out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime didn't help, try these steps:
Change your Apple ID to the Apple ID you used previously. You shouldn't need to verify the email address.
Go to Settings > iCloud. Complete these steps only if the Find My [Device] setting is turned on:
Scroll down and tap Delete Account, then tap Delete to confirm.
Tap “Keep on My [Device]” or “Delete from My [Device].” In either case, your data remains in iCloud and will be updated on your device when you sign in to iCloud again.
Enter the password for your previous Apple ID.
Change your Apple ID to the new email address that you want to use. You'll need to verify the email address.
Return to Settings > iCloud and sign in with your new Apple ID.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

  • ICloud and Apple ID confusion

    HI
I have had an Apple id I use for iTunes for a while - and it uses my gmail email address.
I have now set up iCloud...more than once!
I now have two iCloud accounts:
    1. An iCloud account which I can sign in to using my Original Apple Id (using the gmail address). For example [email protected]
    2. An iCloud account which I can sign in to using an iCloud email address as my Apple Id. For example [email protected]
Using my browser when I sign on to iCloud the Apple Id shown within iCloud is always [email protected]  In other words it doesn't matter which Apple Id I use to sign on with - the Apple Id within iCloud is always shown as [email protected]
    My questions are:
    1. Why when I enter my gmail Apple Id to sign into iCloud is the Apple Id shown as [email protected] within iCloud?
    2. Does this situation matter?
    3. If it does matter what can I do to rectify it.
    Many thanks for your help!
    Peter

Just a little more information on my 'issue'.
When I log on to Manage my xyz.icloud.com Apple Id I get exactly the same account information showing as when I log on to manage [email protected] Apple id and primary email address for both is shown as [email protected]
Which to me is the opposite I see when I log on to iCloud.com

  • Are iCloud and apple id and password the same

I keep getting a request for my icloud password which was assigned to an old id.  I don't remember the password so I click on forgot password after which it tells me to reset my apple id password which I do.  I can't find out where to see my icloud profile to then change the icloud id.  Where is it? Should the cloud and applie profiles be the same?

    Hello sukoenig,
Thank you for your question. It sounds like you are wanting to know if your Apple ID and iCloud have the same password. Yes, and in fact that is recommended according to this article you can have more than 1 Apple ID if you choose. Take a loot at this  information about how your Apple ID works:
Using your Apple ID for Apple services
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4895
An Apple ID is the email address you use as a login for just about everything you do with Apple, including using iCloud to store your content, buying songs from the iTunes Store, and downloading apps from the App Store.
When you set up your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, you can use the same Apple ID for iCloud services and purchases on the iTunes Store, App Store, and iBooks Store. You can also use one Apple ID for iCloud services and another Apple ID for store purchases (including iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match). You will get all the benefits of iCloud whether you use the same Apple ID for iCloud and store purchases, or different IDs for each.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Take care,
    Sterling

  • ICal and iCloud and Apple ID all going haywire!

    Greetings.
Starting yesterday (11/27/2011), I have had serious problems with iCloud and my Apple ID.
My calendars on my MacPro have gotten totally wiped out, and they only reside on my 3rd gen. iPod Touch.
Hard syncs with iTunes don't fix the problem.  And when I try to play with the iPod touch's iCloud settings, I get an error message:  "You can't sign in because your account was disabled for security reasons.  To enable your account, reset your password at iforgot.apple.com."
I have reset my password FIVE TIMES this morning and still the same problems!  Apple still says that my account has been disabled.  Resetting the password doesn't allow me to get back in, nor does it allow me to sync my calendars back up.
I NEED my calendars back on my Mac!  And I want my APPLE RESETS to "TAKE!"
Does anyone have any suggestions on how this might be fixed?
Thanks very much for your help.

You can't open an iCloud account using a PC. create it on an iPad or Iphone, or a Mac. Then you can use it on your PC

  • Icloud and Apple Id help!!

    Hi,
I'm new on here and just need some help!!
I have had an iPhone for a few years now and have recently upgraded. I want to re set my old iPhone so my other half can use it. I have never had any problem before now. I am being asked for my i cloud id which I obviously set up but now it says the information is wrong.
When I go to reset it its asking for my apple id which I input but says its not an iCloud id but it was originally asking for the iCloud id.
I'm sorry if this is a really stupid question and a long winded one but can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong???
    Thank you.

    Hi Ingrid,
When you say you changed it, do you mean you went to Manage your Apple ID and changed the email address that was being used for your Apple ID? If so, then do the following:
    1.     Log on with your current Apple ID to Manage your Apple ID and change the Apple ID back to the old email address (the one that is showing on your devices). This is temporary. Do NOT verify it, and do NOT change the password: Apple - My Apple ID
    2.     Go to your devices to Settings>iCloud and scroll to the bottom of the screen and click the Delete button to delete the old iCloud account. Type in your current password when prompted, then follow the prompts to delete the account.
    3.     Once the iCloud account has been deleted on all of the devices this way, go back to Manage your Apple ID and change your ID back to your current Apple ID. You may need to verify it again.
    4.     Go back to Settings>iCloud on your devices and sign into iCloud with your current Apple ID.
You should be all set then!
    Cheers,
