ICloud and deleted songs?

The recent update on iTunes shows songs that I thought had disappeared forever. It says to download them, all I have to do is click the little cloud. Even though I've tried this, it isn't working. How do I re-download these songs?

I've copied my itunes library onto an external hard drive.  Is there any way I can do this and delete songs from my PC without also deleting from the external drive? Already lost two songs!!!  I just want a back up - using a work PC and don't want others accessing my songs.  Hope someone can help.  Thanks!

I see. To get a better idea of what is being stored where please download and run the script iTunesInfo which should output something like this:
I'm interested in the block of 4 results starting ITL location. If your profile name shows up somewhere replace it with <Name>.  It is also worth checking under Edit > Preferences > Advanced to see where iTunes thinks your media is supposed to go. My script estimates the setting based on the location of the first media file it can actually find.

  • After putting my photos on icloud and deleting them off my camera roll to save storage, they were all gone off of icloud the next morning. This was before we could recover them with ios8. HELP.

I went to the One Direction concert August 19, 2014. I took several videos and pictures on my phone and wanted to save storage since my phone is only 16 GB, so right after the concert I put the images and videos on iCloud and deleted them off my camera roll. The next morning I woke up to look at them on my iCloud and every single video and picture was gone. GONE. This was before iOS8 let you recover deleted photos. As a desperate fangirl, please help me out. I've spent months in stress and utter sadness due to this. I want to know how to get my precious pictures and videos back.

I did it on my phone; I shared them to iCloud on my iPhone and then deleted them off of my camera roll, because I knew they would be stored on my iCloud. But, as you see, the next morning they were gone. :(((((((((((

  • I have an iPhone 5. It says I have 537 songs on it but every song shows the cloud icon. I have gone through every suggested step I've googled and deleted songs but settings still shows them. When it's plugged into my mac itunes shows it only has 42 songs.

    Hi ellafromva,
From your description, it sounds like you may have iTunes Match activated; you may find the following article helpful:

How do I re-download videos which have been uploaded onto iCloud and deleted from my device?

    Hi yvrtoakl,
I'm sorry, I'm a bit unclear on what you mean by "uploaded onto iCloud". If you are referring to videos synced to iCloud using the new iCloud Photo Library feature, you may find the following article helpful:

On the other hand, if you are talking about video files that have been stored on iCloud using iCloud Drive, then this article may be of more use:

  • Somene hacked my icloud and delete my devices

hello, someone eneter in my mail and delete change my password from my e-mail and delete my information, and after send enter in my icloud and delete my device from icloud...i need to recovery them  because they been stolen and the person who stole the item is doing that.

You can delete it whenever you want, to use it to restore your new phone from...
Navigate to Settings > General > Software Update and install any updates available.
Navigate to Settings > General > Reset > Erase all contents and settings on the device you want to restore.
When this completes and the Set-Up Assistant starts, choose "Restore from iCloud Backup" and enter your iCloud account and password. You will see the three most recent backups for each of the devices on which you enabled Backup. Choose which backup to restore from.

  • How can I remove and delete songs that are stored in iCloud? I really dislike this feature.

I really hate this idea of having all of the songs that aren't on your iPhone being out back in there through I cloud. They aren't on my device for a reason. Thanks a lot iTunes.
How can I remove and delete these songs from my iTunes account in purchased history.

  • HT204053 if i synch iPOD to iCLOUD and have songs stored in iPOD that were not purchased from iTUNES i assume a synch to the cloud will erase my non iTUNES songs? i tried this last year & this happened already & forced me to reload many songs. any solutio

i have music purchased on my computer that is from rhapsody & napster in addition to what i bought from iTUNES. if i synch to the cloud i assume i will lose my other non iTUNES music if i synch my iPOD and computer to iCLOUD? this already happened to me last year and forced me to reload from CDs my other non iTUNES songs back into my computer! anyone know a way around this dilemma? my computer now has almost 900 songs & i fear if i synch my iPOD to my computer and synch to iCLOUD i will get a repeat of losing my non iTUNES songs once again! i have not turned on my iPOD or synced it to my computer for many months! huge hassle to recopy songs from CD & maybe it is best to sign into iCLOUD to back up my newly purchased songs and then exit iCLOUD and then synch my iPOD to my computer and then synch without going into the iCLOUD scenario? i do not know and really need help on this. please answer in simple terms?

I had this problem too after i upgdatd to OS X Mavericks... only the songs on my iphone 5s that i purchased from itunes would play.
i read something about it being a syncing issue. when you plug your phone into your computer with the usb cable, the person said to switch from automatic syncing of itunes to the "manual" option. mine was already set to manual so i wasn't sure anything would work. BUT, when i plugged my phone into my computer, it started to sync all of my music on my phone again (top of itunes bar where song playing/time is listed said "now syncing 123/534 songs to x's iphone"). once that was completed, i checked the music app on my iphone and everything was back to normal!
so, i would suggest setting your music syncing settings to manual if you haven't tried that yet!
    hope this helps!

  • Find and delete songs unable to locate

I have a lot of songs in my iTunes that I don't have on my computer anymore. Some are marked with the exclamation point, but others aren't because I haven't tried playing them yet. What is the easiest way to find which songs can't be located and delete them? Thanks!

If it was that simple to do with the hundreds on songs like this littering my library, then I would have done it already instead of posting on here.
Do you have any helpful advice, like the name of program perhaps? I have not been able to find anything through web search. If I had, I wouldn't be turning to this forum to fix a problem I had already solved.

My phone is saying that it is out of storage, and that pictures take up more than anything else on my phone, How can that be, I am frustrated, and Apparently I am not the only one experiencing these problems. • Searching for and deleting songs with explicit lyrics

Hello. Over the years my song library has grown a bunch, but my music preferences have changed. I no longer wish to suddenly hear a song throwing the F-bomb around. Since I listen on my iPhone and cannot delete the song immediately, I need to know if there is a way to search for songs in iTunes for explicit lyrics so that I can delete them from my library. Is there a way?
    Thanks for the help!!!!

Thre is not a way to do it directly that I am aware of but you can go down your song list and just look for the red explicit label and delete it that way.

  • Am I the only person who misses the drag and drop method of adding and deleting songs on iTunes devices?

I am constantly getting frustrated with the newer versions of iTunes because my different apple devices have different amounts of storage. I miss the days when I could drag and drop songs to various devices. I don't always want the same songs on all devices, so I don't like to sync because I sometimes lose something I want to keep on that device. I am just curious if I'm the only one who misses this feature or is there a way of doing this that I've just not found? Thanks.

In the Summary tab of iTunes - when the iDevice is connected to your Mac - select Manually Manage Music and Videos. You should be able to drag and drop.
If you don't see the sidebar and the device is syncing automatically, you can enable the sidebar from the ITunes Menu - View>Show Sidebar. The. You can click on your device name imder the devices heading, then click on the Summary Tab.
You can also disable auto syncing in iTunes>Preferences>Devices>Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing autonatically.
I never auto sync and never have. I select Sync Only Checked Songs And Videos in the Summary tab and I can still drag and drop songs. I can also select the albums, playlist, or artists that I want to sync by using this method.
