ICloud And Exchange

I sync my IPad with iCloud And several exchange servers. In my IPad contacts these show as separate groups. How can I combine all groups into One Group that syncs with the iCloud so I can Access all contacts from all groups in the iCloud from another Computer?

i have the same issue.  Contact/Calendars setup on my work exchange account (including "suggested contacts" my work exchange server uploads to my device for me, mostly email address).  iCloud is not merging the exchange contacts to the icloud, my pc, my iphone, or my ipad.

If you can't do this on a computer, which would be much easier using drag and drop, then you will need to share the contacts with yourself in order to move them to the iCloud account.

  • IPad syncing with iCloud and Exchange = problems ?

    Greetings,
I am using Apple products since 2 years ago. Everything started with an iPod Touch 64 and things grew to an iPhone4, iPad and now, an iPad 2.
I also have a Motorola Xoom (Honeycomb 3.2 based), a Samsung Galaxy S2 and a HTC Desire Z with Android 2.3.3.
All devices are configured to sync mails, calendar, contacts, notes and tasks with an Exchange Server. Until iOS5 and iCloud, there were no problems whatsoever. Contacts created on any device used to replicate to the others without a problem, although the iDevices (iOS based) never understood “categories”, a resource commonly used in an outlook environment to help sorting things out.
Last week, Ibought the iPad2. Updated it and configured it to use the same Exchange Server as the other devices. Also, I chose to use iCloud.
After that, I noticed that on a daily basis, contacts would appear without categories, first day, a few, around 5. Second day, 10 more. Third day, more 20. After the second day, I also noticed that the “display as” field (also known as “FiledAs”) was starting to show names with Last, First order. Here in Brazil we sort names as First Last. Of course, outlook, all android devices and also the iPad were all configured correctly (First, Last).
The problem was getting bigger every day. Yesterday, 900+ of my almost 2000 contact list were mixed up, missing their categories and also had their first and last names changed in the Filed As field.
After deleting, editing, restoring backups etc. more than once, I have finally found that the iCloud is probably the culprit.
Changed my iPad config to keep from syncing with iCloud and configured it to backup locally.
Deleted all accounts in all devices, deleted all data from contacts. Configured the accounts and left the devices syncing. Restored a backup. All devices synced and received the contacts.
Surprise: problem solved. So far, no missing categories, no inverted First, Last names. Maybe if anyone find himself in the same situation, it might help.

I have the same problem. My MacPro isn't on Lion, as I have lots of software that isn't compatible yet. But I have 10.7.2. on my MacBookPro and iOS5 on my iPhone and iPad.
I would like to go to iCloud for those devices that are capable to run it, but I do not want to loose sync services for my MacPro which is on 10.6.8. Will iCloud and MobileMe be in sync until 30.06.2012, so I can use them in parallel, or do I have to wait until all computers are updated to Lion?

  • IPad/iPod, iCloud, and Exchange Syncing

When I first updated my iPod and iPad they synced to iCloud.  However I ended up with each of my contacts duplicated about 10-15 times.  So I turned off iCloud syncing and deleted all the contacts from iCloud.com.  After I cleaned up all the duplicates, I re-enabled iCloud syncing on my iPad.  However none of my contacts will sync to iCloud.  I can manually create a contact on iCloud.com and it will sync to my iPad.  I can also do the reverse.
My contacts on my iPad are syncing from our Exchange server.  My calendar is the acting the same way and also synced from our Exchange server.
My ultimate goal is to keep my work and home contacts lists and calendar in sync.
    Any suggestions?

    Hey thomnj,
From what I understand, it sounds like after uninstalling and reinstalling your iTunes as a troubleshooting step, you're now missing some of your media? I would troubleshoot the issue with the steps in here:

  • How do I stop receiving calendar invites on iCal/iCloud and use exchange 2013 calendar instead?

I Have an exchange 2013 email account which isn't registered as part of my iCloud account.
i Use my outlook calendar (exch) for work and the same exch calendar day to day from all my iOS devices.
when a colleague or outside email away from my company sends me a calendar meeting request, it works fine. (Using my exch email as the invite recipient).
my girlfriend sends me a meeting request from her hotmail account using the same exch email address for me, but he. Invites always arrive to my iCloud/iCal calendar instead! I can't seem to change it so I often miss diary notes or reminders unless I constantly look at both calendars.
i Just want to use exchange calendar and lose iCal (or if easier sync both iCal and exchange calendars vica versa - but that may be over complicating the issue, basically I just need one calendar and would rather it be my outlook exchange cal)
    any ideas?

    Hello again,
False alarm..... it didnt work sorry.
I removed the iCal accounts from my mac, and also from my iphone. Then when my partner sent me a calendar invite it simply didnt arrive at all!
She has a hotmail account installed on her IOS iphone 5.
She is sending the invite to my exch 2013 email address which is not associated with any icloud account.
My exch 2013 email is installed in both my Outlook for mac 2011 and IOS device Iphone 5s.
When I switch the iCloud Calendar back on in my iphone 5s, the invite comes through but ONLY optional to the icloud calendar. I cannot seem to get it receiving on my default calendar which is set to Exchange 2013 account.
Its very strange as its only her invites that do this. Anyone else's come through on my exchange calendar because its the same email address receeving it my end.

  • HT204150 I have 2 iphones registered under same account, but both phones had different contacts in them, somehow icloud duplicated, exchanged them. and deleted could not restore the contacts, how do I restore it? plz help

I have 2 iphones registered under same account, but both phones had different contacts in them, somehow icloud duplicated, exchanged them, and I turned off the icloud on one of them, while doing that it asked me if I want to keep them on my phone or not. I pressed the one saying not to keep them. I deleted all of them and could not restore the contacts, how do I restore it? when I sign in to my icloud account online it only shows the contacts that were on the other phone. plz help

I access a personal iPhone and iPad, and a business iPhone with the same Apple ID.
The iPhone's passcode lock feature is completely separate from another iPhone or iOS device.
All apps, all paid and free apps include DRM protection which is tied to the Apple ID that was used to download the apps. If some apps were downloaded with one Apple ID and then a new Apple ID is created, in order to download an app update that was installed with the original Apple ID requires using that Apple ID and password.

  • When I tried to open my Mail app this morning, it opened a list of choices - iCloud, E Exchange, Google, Yahoo, Aol, Outlook.  I use Hotmail and it usually opens to my Inbox.  Why did it do this and do I choose Outlook and is it safe to sign in

When I tried to open my Mail app on my IPhone this morning, it opened a list of choices - iCloud, E Exchange, Google, Yahoo, Aol, Outlook.  I use Hotmail and it usually opens to my Inbox.  Why did it do this and do I choose Outlook and is it safe to sign in?

It sounds like instead of opening your Mail App, you actually opened your Settings App, and were somehow in the 'Add Account' section of Mail, Contacts & Calendars.
Close the apps, and then reopen just the Mail App.

  • How do  transfer my contacts from gmail and exchange to icloud?

How do i transfer my contacts from gmail and exchange to iCloud?

No it won't. As far as i know there is no ways to have contacts synced with both Google and iCloud at the same time. Linked card concept is just a means to help you organise cards representing a same identity.
When you make changes to a card, it will push the change to the account that this card is synced.
    Hope this help.

  • TS3988 I changed my Apple ID to my new email address successfully for the iTunes and App store but it won't work for iCloud and it won't recognize my password. I read that this can't be done. How am I supposed to get into iCloud?

I changed my Apple ID to my new email address successfully for the iTunes and App store but it won't work for iCloud and it won't recognize my password. I read that this can't be done. How am I supposed to get into iCloud? I plan on getting rid of my old email address which is my old Apple ID so how is that going to work?

Same question Wish someone had replied!
I changed my Apple ID to my new email and now cannot find any way to access icloud. Unfortunately I had allowed icloud to hijack my airbook files, so of course I am afraid I will lose them tomorrow when I exchange my iphone for a new one and cannot keep an icloud account i cannot access. What a poor sync system! Really atypical for apple!

  • My icloud account does not sync with my iphone 4s. My contacts do not show up on icloud and I do have "contacts" turned on to backup

My icloud account does not sync with my iphone 4S. My contacts do not turn up on icloud and I do have "contacts" turned on in my phone.

Unchecking them won't help, it will only hide them from view.  The issue you're running into is that iCloud doesn't sync contacts from non-iCloud accounts like your exchange and Yahoo accounts.  In order to sync these with iCloud, you would need to copy them to the iCloud account and then disable contact syncing with these other accounts.  (If you didn't disable contacts syncing with these accounts, you would see duplicates of these contacts on your phone -- one from the external account, and one from iCloud.)  If you want to do this, do the following:
Go to Settings>iCloud, turn Contacts to Off, choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted (any iCloud contacts will still be in iCloud).
Download the app My Contacts Backup.  (If you have more than 500 contacts to transfer from your other accounts you will need the “Pro” version.)  Use the app to back up the remaining contacts on your phone (from the other accounts) as a vCard attachment to an email that you send to yourself.  Confirm that you have received the email before proceeding to step 3.
Go to Settings>iCloud and turn Contacts back to On.
Go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Account (in the Contacts section), and confirm that this is set to iCloud.
Go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars…tap your Yahoo and your exchange account and turn off contacts syncing with these accounts.  This will remove the contacts from these accounts from your phone.
Open the My Contacts Backup email and tap the attachment to import the contacts from these accounts back to your phone, and to iCloud.  All your contacts should now be in iCloud and be visible on icloud.com.

  • How to set up icloud and sync contacts on iphone?

I'm trying to help out my builder, who is a friend and occasional client of my business.
He has no decent way of keeping all his contacts organized, many are on his iphone, and others on a lot of yellow sticky notes.  He wants to set up his contact list so he has clients, vendors, sub contrators, etc.
I have my contact list on my iMac set up with business, friends so forth.
The builder has an iPhone 4s I think (maybe 5, I'll check if it makes a difference).  He told  me he backs up his phone now and then with iTunes on his PC. He rarely uses his PC and really just wants them on his iPhone and iCloud (so I can access them and keep his contacts up to date).
He has about 400 contacts in his iPhone.  I want to add all those yellow sticky notes to his contact list on his icloud (which he just signed up for and has never used).
what is the best way for me to get his contacts from his iphone into icloud and than set the whole thing up so when I add new contact to his address book in icloud they turn up on his phone?
I've been googling this and reading online answers for an hour but I'm now more confused then I was.
    Thanks for any help.
    Susan

It depends on where is contacts are on his phone.  If they are stored locally in the "On My iPHone" account, all he would need to do is go to Settings>iCloud, sign in with his Apple ID to create his account (or sign in with an existing iCloud ID if he already has one) and turn Contact On.  They will then upload to his iCloud account.
If they are being synced with an external service such as Gmail, Yahoo, an exchange account, etc., they will have to be copied to his iCloud account in order to sync them with iCloud.
Unless you already know, have him open the contacts app on his phone and tap Groups (if he has any contact groups).  Does he have any non-iCloud accounts listed, such as On My iPhone, Gmail, Yahoo or an exchange account?  Also have himego to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Account (in the Contacts section).  Does he have the Default Account setting in the Contacts section, and if so, what is selected as his default account?

thats tough man, yeah exchanging it is the best option. But why do people always leave a message saying" i'll probably just by an ipod" and it's usually followed by, "even though i don't like apple or ipod" . I mean fine, if u feel like giving up on the zen micro thats fine, i personally don't care if you're going to buy an ipod. for god sakes ipod isn't even the next alternati've mp3 players, theres plenty. Are u just trying to get the creative people saying "oh man we lost another one to ipod" cuz i'm sure they don't lose sleep over u wanting to buy an ipod instead of a zen. *done ranting*

  • Icloud with Exchange 2007

    I have the following configuration:
iPhone 4S with IOS 5.0.1 Using Icloud for backup
Laptop is a MacBook Pro running Lion OSX
    E-mail Client is Outlook 2011
Multiple email accounts including both Exchange and Gmail
    Primary email account is exchange.
All of my contacts are currently on my iPhone and Syncing to iCloud without any issues.  There are no contacts in Outlook or Exchange.  I would like to have all of the contacts from my iCloud in my outlook and exchange server.  I have attempted to turn on sync services in Outlook and sync Outlook contacts to my Apple Address Book.  This however does not put any contacts into my Outlook that are currently in my Apple Address Book.  There is no tool to sync directly from iCloud to Outlook for Mac.  Seems like there is a tool for that on the PC.
Hopefully there is a simple solution that I am overlooking. Please let me know if anyone has a way to accomplish this.  Calandar, Tasks, and Notes will also be necessary.
    Thank You

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You would need to move the calendars to the iCloud account, but then they won't sync with exchange assuming you still wanted to do that, if not.
Create a new empty calendar from the iCal file menu, select which account you want to create it in.
If you have only a few appointments you can move them individually by editing them and changing the calendar in the edit options.
Alternatively you can copy all the appointments in one calendar to another and delete the original.
To copy a calendar ctrl-click on it from the menu that appears when you select the calendar button (top left corner of iCal) and choose export (export it to your desktop for ease)
Double click the exported file and choose the new empty calendar to import them into.
Ctrl-click on the original calendar from the menu that appears when you select the calendar button and choose delete.

  • Cannot move calendar item from iCloud to Exchange calendar

When I add a new calendar item in iOS 7 calendar app, it allows me to select either my Exchange calendar or any of the iCloud calendars.
However, some (or perhaps all) event invitations appear pre-destined for the iCloud calendars, and when I select those events and try to reassign them to other calenadars, I only get the iCloud calendars as options.
Is there any way to move a calendar item from iCloud to Exchange?

If calendar events on your iPhone do not appear in your calendar on icloud.com, go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Calendar and make sure you have selected an iCloud calendar as your default, and not something else like On My iPhone, Gmail, Yahoo or and exchange account.
