Icloud and existing photo albums

I updated my ipad 2 and iphone 4 to ios 5, move all my pictures and created different albums.
After doing that, I enabled Icloud and photostream and realize that I can't move new pictures to my already existing albums. The only way I can move the pictures is if I create a new album right after enabling photostream.
If I disable and re-enable photostream, again the same problem, I can't even move the pictures to the album I created (right after the first "enable" of photostream).
Also, the camera roll album is always full and if I want to delete a picture from there, it will delete it from everywere, when the reason I have different albums is to avoid duplicates.
I'd really appreciate if someone could tell me if there is a way to fix this.

Unfortunately, those photos live in your iPhoto Library which was on your previous MacBook Air. Did you, by any chance back them up to a disk or flash drive? If not, have you consulted someone at the Apple Genius bar about recovering any of them, or using the Migration Assistant to get them moved over to your new MacBook Air?
I'm not familiar with any way to upload photos (other than the new ones) to your Mac from your iPhone.
IF WE HAVE SOME HEAVY HITTERS OUT THERE THAT KNOW A WAY TO HELP FOXIFOODIE OUT, PLEASE CHIME IN!!!
Otherwise, foxifoodie, I would talk to the Apple folks to see if there is any way to get these back for you! (Worst case - have them all printed out so you at least have a hard copy! Then, possibly have a good photo service put them on disk for you so you can upload them to your new MacBook Air?

Sync'd and lost photo albums - help!

I sync'd my iPad Air with my PC before leaving home and added several Albums to my Photos. I do not have the photos in these albums on my Laptop. I took some photos on my camera, created a folder on my laptop and copied these new pics into it. I then sync'd my iPad using my laptop and iTunes with the intent of copying the new folder of pics to the iPad (I selected just that folder in the iTunes sync for Photos). The sync did copy this folder to my iPad as a new album, but it also deleted all of the albums I put on the iPad from my home PC. How can I get them back? I do not have an iCloud backup....

That is the danger of syncing with two different computers given the way that iTunes syncs photos.
When you sync with photo folders specified in iTunes it places just those folders on the iPad and deletes any other synced folders. You must always specify all the folders in iTunes, even the ones that are already there.
You can restore the lost folders from your PC when you return home. Note that you will lose the folder from your laptop when you do this if you don't copy that folder from your laptop to your PC first.

I can look at my photos on my Iphone like a hard drive and copy and paste the photos to my computer. I can then delete a batch at a time on the Iphone camera roll. However, how do I delete the 242 photos in my "photo library" album and the 242 duplicate photos in my "Iphone photo" album? When I click on the arrow box icon in the upper right corner of my phone, I can click on a photo, but the delete icon is not available.

Check and see if they synced from more than one computer app.
In itunes, Photos> Check mark "Sync Photos from". See what else is in the drop down menu. (i.e. iphoto, pictures folder, Aperture, choose folder, etc.). If you get the option to: Select Albums, Events, Faces and automatically include. Check mark that, and see if any blue album, or events are ticked. If so, uncheck mark and go down and click Apply/Sync.

It's better to post the URL of the feed (as you have subsequently done) than the contents of the feed .
From the FeedValidator report the feed is basically OK for iTunes. There are several occasions where 'content:encoded' sections (following immediately on 'guid' tags) should be enclosed in
<description>...</description>
tags: however all this will be ignored by iTunes anyway and only applies to other readers. The 'potentially dangerous content' referred to by FeedValidator is within the 'content:encoded' tags and so isn't relevant to iTunes. They are referring to an inline css style, and I don't know whether this might cause a problem elsewhere.
You should really have a language tag, e.g.
<language>en-us</language>
(you have a dc:language tag but that's for a different system). This should be placed in the top section, before the first 'item' tag.
It's advisable to have an 'itunes:explicit' tag for each 'item' -
<itunes:explicit>yes IF CONTAINS ADULT MATERIAL, OTHERWISE no</itunes:explicit>
it's not compulsory if you have no adult material, but you must have a 'yes' if you do.
You can check your feed by subscribing in iTunes from the 'Advanced' menu - this has the same result as clicking the 'Subscribe' button on the Store page. If it works OK there you are ready to submit it.

How are you accessing the photos? If using home-sharing you should be able to access your library, make sure you have given access (iTunes - file - home sharing - choose photos to share)

IPhone resets playing music and viewing Photo Album

My iPhone has started reseting to the main menu and the applications (photo album and iPod) at random when both are active. I hava also had several resets, I call them that because I don't know what the system is doing but the application simply quits and the phone goes back to the top menu. I have heard there is a problem with the latest version of the system so is there anything I can do to stablize the situation? The phone is working as it should be but the applications are not predictable.

The behavior you're describing where the application quits and you are taken back to the home screen is called "crashing".
The first thing you can try is resetting your iPhone. Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down until the Apple logo shows on the screen (about 6-8 seconds), then release the buttons.
If that does not help, you should restore your iPhone. Connect your phone to iTunes, let it sync, and then click restore. After your iPhone software is reloaded, you will be able to restore all your data from your last sync. You will have to re-enter some passwords, such as your voicemail password, wi-fi network passwords, and email account passwords.
If you continue to get crashes despite these measures, I recommend getting your iPhone serviced either by taking it to the Apple store or by calling 1-800-MY-iPHONE.

They won't automatically appear, but you can then either sync them to the phone from your computer's iTunes, or re-download them from the store directly on the phone - the App Store app on the phone will have a Purchased tab on it for re-downloading your previous app purchases/downloads (though if an app is removed from sale then you won't be able to re-download it, so it's a good idea to keep your backup copies of your purchases).

Moving Shared Photo Stream photos to existing Photo Albums

On my iPad mini, I have a Shared Photo Stream that was shared to me by a friend. Several photos have been streamed to me from my friend. I want to take them out of the Shared Photo Stream and put them into several Photo Albums that I have created for them, in order to organize them. When I am in the Shared Photo Stream sheet view, click "Edit", and then select the Shared Photo Stream photos that I want to move, the only choices I have when clicking "Share" are: Mail, Message, Photo Stream, Facebook, Print, Copy, and Save to Camera Roll. Why can't I choose an exisiting Photo Album to save them to? Why must I first Save to Camera Roll, and then go into the Photo Albums and add photos from the Camera Roll? Is this REALLY the only way to do it???

Yes, you have to save them to your camera roll first. It may be because while the photos are in the shared photo stream album, the owner of shared photo stream can add or delete photos at any time, as well as deleting the entire shared photo stream and at the present time, the iOS is not able to make the necessary changes to your albums in the event of such changes.

Duplicate photos in my photo library and another photo album?

So I don't know if this has to do with the ios 6 update I just did on my phone (most likely it is), but today i synced my phone like usual. I have two albums on my phoone besides the Camera roll. I have the photo library ( which i think all iphones have) & one album i called "uploaded photos". As you may know, the photo library has the same pictures as the ones in my "uploaded photos" album. So each one has 300 photos in them, but for some reason when I synced it today, the photos all got doubled/ duplicated. so instead of 300 photos, theres 600. There's just a duplicate of each picture? It's really bothering me because I don't want double the photos in each album, thats too much! I hope this makes sense, but does any one know how to fix it?

I've been on my icloud and my photo stream isn't on there, but it used to update them to my PC so where has it gone?

My iphone used to upload photos to my PC via icloud but recently I keep getting an error message on applephotostreams.exe has stopped working. I have been on my icloud account as suggested to reboot my photo stream but said photo stream is not on my icloud. I haven't deleted it or fiddled with any settings on my phone, PC or icloud account. Where are all my photos being stored? How has it been syncing them to my PC? I am confused, can anybody help?

Recall that photo stream only keeps photos on the cloud servers for 30 days, after which they are deleted. If on the PC you turned off photo stream and then turned it back on, you will only get photos that are currently in the stream, which may be none.
As a general rule, always sync photos to a computer (via USB to itunes or photo stream) and once on the computer, move them into a permanent folder/album.

How can I store and delete photo albums

The capabilities of the new iPad 3 using 0S 5.1 to manage photos remain a mystery. I hope by explaining the workflow I am considering, I may be able to resolve this dilemma. I would like to use the ipad3 to make a backup of my daily photos while traveling. Here is my plan. I would appreciate if anyone is knowledgeable to let me know if I can or cannot do the following:
Establish a new folder directly onto the iPad (I know I can do this)
Download my pictures for the day from my camera card into this new folder using the SD connector of the Apple Camera Connection Kit.
Support RAW (rw2 for the Lumix fz28) and JPEG images
View the new pictures
The next day, either: (a) download only the NEW pictures to the album by using a capability of the photo program to do this (I don’t want to have to select over 100 photos one by one manually) or (b) establish a new album, download the entire SD card with the previous days and the current days pictures into it, and then delete both the first album and all the pictures in it, without having to search for them and select one at a time to delete. I want to delete the previous days album to minimize memory usage.
Copy the photos to my computer, preferably with Photoshop Elements, when I get home.
If this cannot be done with the software that comes with the iPad, is there an app available that could better be used for my photo backup needs.
The ability to minimally Edit and Move some pictures within the iPad while away would be nice to have, but not crucial.
I would like to purchase an IPAD 3 with 64 gig in April, but I probably will not do so if I cannot get these capabilities. Thank you in advance for your input.
