ICloud and Mobile me account

I've had a mobile me account for 2 years. I just got a new 4s and I am switching to iCloud. Phone asks me to "create" a new mobile me account. When I enter my account info it tells me that this account already exists. How do I enter current acct? I don't want to create a new one, I want my contact information from my current account to push to me new phone.

ICloud and mobile.me showing up in mail settings

After setting up iCloud on my Mac and my Ipad 2, I have both iCloud and mobile.me settings/accounts showing up for the same address in my mail settings!! Which do I use?? Or do I leave them both?? (I have duplicate mail - and both appear to be updating.)
I also have an account left on my Ipad that was deleted as I changed over to iCloud. The mail program appears to shut down as I try to delete the account under the settings. I can get all the way to hitting the "delete account" key and then the program shuts down. The confusing part is I thought this was actually under the Settings for the Ipad - so I guess I'm learning!!
Suggestions?? Ideas??

You can access this page for a Local to you version from iTunes when it is logged into the Store and going to the bottom of the page and clicking Support.
In the page that appears in your Browser go to the bottom of the menu and click Contact Support.
In the page linked above (or your local version) click the iTunes Store Contact point on the right hand pane.
After than follow the options for Managing your Account until you are offered an email link.
Email them the info.

Look in Mail Preferences>Accounts, the Full Name field.

ICloud and .Me email accounts?

I'm confused about how iCloud might affect my mobileme email accounts.
I have moved to iCloud and can log in using my primary mobileme account. However, I have two other active mobileme email accounts - one for my wife and one that we share. Will these email accounts continue to work as now, or do I need to take some action to ensure that they keep working?
Please advise.

You can migrate from your mobile me accounts using the Move website. Once you have migrated to iCloud, you will need to change the existing mail accounts in order to use them with iCloud.
Delete your mail account from Mail preferences and set it up again using the Mail Server Information.
Some users have apparently encountered issues using this information in pre-Lion set ups (I haven't), Roger Wilmut has kindly provided instructions for those who find themselves with this problem.

Login.keychain and mobile user accounts

After removing a corrupt login.keychain file in a mobile user account, the user could no longer log in to their account when off site. What account login information is kept in the keychain file of a mobile account?

I don't have problems syncing other files that are also system packages, like iPhoto ones... although I have a terrible suspicion that again the sync agent only sees a single file, not a bundle.
I assume that the OS doesn't have any problem with packages since they are used pretty much elsewhere and they are basically a folder with a specific file inside that "forces" the OS to show us as a single file, instead of letting us see directly the content.
Even the new disk image format that Apple recommends to be used in order to speed up Time Machine backups (.sparcebundle) is based in package (or bundles, whatever you prefer to call them)
The main issue here might be the folder structure inside.
If you do a "show package content" and, for instance, check the thumbnails folder, I can easily see some chars that might create some confusion if not properly escaped during the sync, like on this example:
My Aperture.aplibrary/Thumbnails/%pARYo%fT52I77jmdf8mqQ/AP.Thumbnails
(Those "%" are so prone to errors if not properly handled)
Time Machine doesn't have any problem with both packages and those chars, so I truly hope that they use TM tech and improve the way that the syncing agent work.
Anyways, Aperture seemed a nice app.
I'm really sad that I can't use it because of this... specially when I'm considering getting a new digital camera.
I understand that it was recently released so let's hope that Apple can figure out what's happening and release an update (to either Aperture or Mac OS X Server) in the next few months.

ICloud and new .me accounts

I have a family package, so every memeber has her/his own account, the thing is that I plan to have more children and give her/him a new @.me.com account. My concer is that if I move to iCloud I wont be able to create or edit my accounts.
Any ideas?

The Family Pack master account and each sub-account can be migrated to a separate iCloud account at http://me.com/move - once done each account is completely individual - there is no Family Pack in iCloud and not need for one, since it's free at basic level. You should note that the minimum age for having an iCloud account is 13 - this was also true of MobileMe accounts.
You will have to move to iCloud anyway by next June or your Family Pack will cease to function.

ICLOUD AND MOBILE.ME MAILBOXES

I'm running 10.6.8 so I'm not icloud native. I had mobile.me and had 3 mailboxes set up. When i migrated to icloud it only kept my primary and I lost the other two and cannot for the life of me i can't figure out how to get them back. Any ideas?

If you upgrade to Lion and create a new user account for your female partner, she should be able to use that to create a new iCloud account for herself. She might even be able to move the old MobileMe account if you move quickly enough.
Note that when you get to me.com/move there will a sentence below the "closed" sign indicating what you are still permitted to do. In some instances, that includes "move your account to iCloud" in addition to downloading files and photos. I see that phrase when I access it from my Lion system, even though I have moved all my MobileMe accounts to iCloud.

ICloud and multiple iTunes accounts

Not sure where I should ask this question but how will I be able to keep choices in music, apps and pictures separate on each device? Right now, my wife has a separate iTuns account for her stuff I have a separate account for my stuff. She has an iPhone 4 and an iPad2 and I have an iMac and an iPhone 4. How do we keep things separate for our devices but still share music photos and apps? I want us to be able to pick from the same music, pictures and apps but I am not sure how to do that and I cant really find a good clear/simple answer. We do not have MobileMe accounts as were are rather new apple users.

I'd just sync stuff manually, so you can select what you each do and don't want on your respective devices. Apple invents all this whiz-bang-fantastic new stuff like iCloud that we're all supposed to love and use straight away to the exclusion of all else, but if they don't do what we want then what's the point of using them?
The old ways of syncing will still work just fine and - despite the fact that I don't want all the same things on both my iPhone and iPad - to be honest, I don't want all my music, photos and documents on one of Apple's servers somewhere anyway. That somehow feels like a real invasion of my privacy. So all the time I can continue to sync manually with a USB lead, I'll do so.
Just because Apple comes up with these new ideas doesn't mean that we all HAVE to use them!

ICloud and multiple mail accounts...

... is something of a mystery to me. I have 4 accounts added to the mail app on my iPhone 4 and the unified inbox is a real handy thing. Saves me time since I don't have to check the accounts individually. This is great. Or would've been if it wasn't for the fact that I nevertheless still have to check mails in at least a couple of places every time I recieve one. If I read the new mails in the inbox they get marked as 'Read' right? Well it turns out that they indeed are but they are still not read according to the iCloud inbox. I still have to check all the newly arrived mail there as well since otherwise they mail(s) still appears to be unread. The badge is still in place on the mail icon and in the mail app it still shows the so-called unread mails. Even if I've already read them in the unified inbox. So in other words, the iCloud service is instead of being that handy little thing, a rather annoying thing since it apparently can't keep up with what's read or not. So I wonder if there's something I don't grasp here, settings-wise or whatever it might be. Anyone else experiencing this trivial but nevertheless annoying problem? I see no point in having an unified inbox if I still have to read the same friggin' mails twice every single time.
Here's hoping for a nifty little solution to this. And without any trolling please. I'm interested in serious answers. If you can't contribute with a viable answer or suggestion then please refrain from posting a reply.

Why do I show both the iCloud and .mac mail accounts on my phone

I have an icloud account and both the .mac and icloud mail account show up on my iphone. Is this necessary? If I disable mail on the icloud page of my phone, will the mail be accessable in icloud but not show as a seperate account on my phone?

You can't merge the backups, you'll have to delete the backup of your old phone. If it says it's currently in use when you try, that will normally clear up on its own but may take 3-5 days to do so. Give it a few days and try deleting the old backup again.
In the meantime, you can create a manual backup of your new phone on your computer by connecting it to your computer, opening iTunes, clicking on the name of your phone in iTuens, going to the Summary tab of your iTunes sync settings and clicking Back Up Now. Also go to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases. Then you'll be safe until you can start backup up to iCloud again.

To fix, first remove your secondary e-mail address that was @mac.com via appleid.apple.com. This should get rid of that email address (but not the ID).
Then delete your iCloud account from your iPhone and reactivate it using @me.com as your Apple ID.
The Apple ID will remain as @mac.com but when you access iCloud Account Information, the Advanced part says "Mail : @me.com".

The 'previous local idisk' is the disk image which formed the 'local copy' of your iDisk and will contain the contents of the iDisk at the time of the last sync. You should be able to double-click the 'sparseimage' to open it, or use the 'File>Open' menu item in Disk Utility. If there are no files in it you want to keep you can delete it.
