ICloud and outlook problem

I use a pc for my work calendar and a mac at home.  I had my work calendar so I could view and edit it on my personal calendar (mac) with mobileme I updated to iCloud now my work calendar on outlook won't open it says "The set of folders cannot be opened".  I can see this information on I cloud I just can't see it on my work pc.  I do have a backup of the information.  Can anyone help me make this work?
Thanks

In your phone settings try to turn off automatic time. See if that works.

  • ICloud and Outlook problems

First of all thanks you all for the support you will give me.
    I'm running W7 64Bit on a Desktop PC.
Outlook 2010 was installed and running perfectly.
When I first installa the iCloud Control Panel, I got all items in the calendar disappeared and went into the new special folder iCloud/Calendar.
This was not good but let say accepted.
I sync my iPhone 3gc running iOS5 without any problem.
I can see all my Calendar items and contacts within the iCloud web page. iPhone has all inside, not problem.
This morning I turned on my PC, I run Outlook and found that the iCloud are not avaible anymore.
Sorry for the Italian pictures to show the problem, but I'm running Italian O.S.
    The same happens with Contacts.
Any idea how to solve this problem?
    Many thanks.

I had that exact same problem for contacts sync with Outlook 2010, but I've managed to solve it.
My iCloud contacts originally came pre-configured with 1 contact (me) which I deleted.  There were then no contacts at all on my iCloud contacts list.
When I tried to configure sync with outlook via the iCloud control panel, I got the error:
"Error: 0x80004005: Got no CardDAV principal record from principal URL request!"
I went back into iCloud (via the iCloud website), and manually added a contact (named "Test").
I then tried setting up sync for contacts with Outlook again using the iCloud control panel, and this time it worked perfectly.
I expect you could try the same approach with Calendar.
Hope this fixes it for you too!
    Henners.

  • I use a Win7 PC with iCloud and Outlook 2010 for syncing my calendar and contacts. I can enter data in my Outlook Calendar and it will appear in iCloud, but data entered in iCloud does not sync back to Outlook.  ICloud syncs to my iphone fine both ways.

I use Win 7 PC with iCloud and Outlook 2010 for syncing my Contacts and Calendar.  They have stopped syncing...mostly.
Now, appointments I enter on my local Outlook (iCloud) Calendar goes up to iCloud fine.  But, data I enter on iCloud directly does not come down to my local Outlook iCloud Calendar.  If I reboot the computer, the iCloud data shows up.
Also, Contacts I try to enter on my Outlook (iCloud) Contacts goes up to iCloud fine, but does not show up in my local iCloud Contacts.
All syncing works with my iPhone.
I have signed out of iCloud on PC.  I have stopped syncing and re-started.  No change.
I have an .aplzod folder for iCloud.  I have a separate Earthlink.net.pst email account in Outlook and a me.com.pst Outlook email account (which I don't actually use) listed under Data Files.
Any help would be appreciated.  Curious that Outlook will upload to iCloud but not receive downloads unless I reboot.  However, rebooting does not download the missing Contacts.

    Hi Jim!
You've started off with some good troubleshooting steps, so let's see if we can take this a little further and figure out what the issue is with your iCloud contacts and calendars. I have two articles here that will help you troubleshoot this issue a little further, but the troubleshooting steps for both articles are exactly the same, so I will lay those out for you here:
Note: When using iCloud Control Panel 2.0 and later, iCloud Calendar event descriptions in Outlook 2010 do not support text formatting (bold, italics, or underline), HTML, images, or attachments. The contextual (right-click) menu has also been disabled.
If you are having trouble with a PC (with Outlook 2007 or 2010) and iCloud Calendar, try each of these steps, testing after each to see if the issue is resolved:
Verify that you are using a Windows configuration that is supported by iCloud. For more information, see iCloud system requirements.
When enabling Calendars in the iCloud Control Panel, part of the setup process is to copy your Calendars data from the default Outlook ".pst" file to iCloud, and then remove the Calendars from the ".pst" file by placing them in the Deleted Items folder in Outlook. The Calendars data is then stored in the iCloud data set within Outlook so that changes can be pushed to and from Outlook by iCloud. Be sure you are looking for your data within the iCloud dataset within Outlook after enabling Calendars in the iCloud Control Panel. The deleted files can be seen by viewing Deleted Items within your Outlook Folder List. This is not iCloud removing your data; iCloud simply copies your data into the iCloud data set and then removes the local Calendars data by placing it in the Deleted Items folder.
Make sure your computer is online. Attempt to view www.apple.com and iCloud.com. If you can't connect to the Internet, your iCloud calendars and events will not update in Outlook. Click here for more information about troubleshooting your Internet connection.
Open a secure website to test if you are online as is necessary for iCloud Calendar. This also tests if the ports 80 and 443 are accessible. Outlook requires port 443 access to iCloud in order to push and pull updates to and from the iCloud Calendar servers.
Verify that your iCloud member name is entered into the iCloud Control Panel pane. See iCloud Setup for more information about setting up iCloud on Windows.
Completely close and reopen the iCloud Control Panel.
If you recently made changes in Outlook and they are not moving to your other devices or vice-versa, click the Refresh button in Outlook.
Turn iCloud Calendar off and back on:
    Close Outlook.
    Open the Windows Control Panel:
In Windows 8, move the pointer to the upper-right corner of the screen to show the Charms bar, click the Search charm, and then click the iCloud Control Panel on the left.
In Windows 7 and Vista, choose Start menu > All Programs > iCloud > iCloud.
Remove the checkmark in the checkbox next to Mail, Contacts, Calendars & Tasks, and click Apply. Wait a few seconds, then replace the checkmark, and click Apply.
Open Outlook and test to see if the issue has been resolved.
Ensure the iCloud Outlook Add-in is active within Outlook.
    Outlook 2010:
    Open Outlook 2010.
    Click the File menu.
Click Options in the left panel of the Outlook window.
Click Add-Ins in the left panel of the Outlook Options window.
Look at the list of add-ins beneath "Active Application Add-Ins" and verify that the "iCloud Outlook Add-in" is listed.
For Outlook 2007, follow these steps to verify the iCloud Outlook Add-in is active
    Open Outlook 2007.
From the Tools menu, choose Trust Center.
Select Add-ins from the left column.
Look at the list of add-ins beneath "Active Application Add-Ins" and verify that the "iCloud Outlook Add-in" is listed.
For additional information about managing Add-ins with Microsoft Outlook, see this Microsoft support document.
Restart your computer. This may sound simple, but it does reinitialize your network and application settings and can frequently resolve issues.

I downloaded the icloud software on my computer in order to sync calenders and contacts using Windows 2007, but I keep getting an error message when trying to sync my icloud and Outlook calendars.  I downloaded it for the first time a month ago and  had it working but it stopped syncing, so I deinstalled the iCloud software and reinstalled, but keep getting the error message "Your setup couldn't be started because of an unexpected error.  What do I do now?  Can anyone help with this?

    Hello easbda,
Thank you for providing the details of the calendar issue you are experiencing with your iPhone.  I recommend following the steps in the section titled "Troubleshooting on Microsoft Windows (Microsoft Outlook)" in the following article to assist with syncing your calendar events between your devices:

  • HT202297 iCloud and outlook: tasks vs reminders or both?

Okay, based on the information I've read about the labels 'tasks' and 'reminders' in iCloud and outlook.... Iif you are using both systems should I dedicate to one or the other?  I use PC outlook an iPad and iPhone and also have google and yahoo accounts. It's getting a little crazy!!

    Hi lan,
Did you find a solution for this?

  • ICloud and Outlook 2010: "Your setup couldn't be started because of an unexpected error". Any ideas?

    Hi,
It looks like iCloud has a problem with Outlook 2010 - when syncing calendars. I repeatedly get the rather vague error message above when I launch the set-up, then the iCloud control panel hangs. If I wait long enough I get "The operation could not be completed".
Anyone else getting this? Seems to work find for contacts, BTW.

    Hi,
This was happening to me with Outlook 2007 and the iCloud Control Panel (CP). I spent days trying to get it sorted out and as usual once it worked I wasn't completely sure what exactly fixed it.
    This is what I did:
    1. Ensured Outlook 2007 was completely up to date with Windows Update.
    2. Unchecked everything in iCloud CP.
    3. Logged out of iCloud CP and when asked I removed all contacts, calendars on my PC.
    4. Uninstalled iCloud CP.
    5. Redownloaded and reinstalled iCloud CP.
    6. Logged into iCloud via iCloud CP.
    7. Checked Mail, Contacts and Calendars.
    8. Didn't get the error message and now I can see all my contacts and calendar stuff from iCloud in Outlook 2007.
    HTH.

  • IPad syncing with iCloud and Exchange = problems ?

    Greetings,
I am using Apple products since 2 years ago. Everything started with an iPod Touch 64 and things grew to an iPhone4, iPad and now, an iPad 2.
I also have a Motorola Xoom (Honeycomb 3.2 based), a Samsung Galaxy S2 and a HTC Desire Z with Android 2.3.3.
All devices are configured to sync mails, calendar, contacts, notes and tasks with an Exchange Server. Until iOS5 and iCloud, there were no problems whatsoever. Contacts created on any device used to replicate to the others without a problem, although the iDevices (iOS based) never understood “categories”, a resource commonly used in an outlook environment to help sorting things out.
Last week, Ibought the iPad2. Updated it and configured it to use the same Exchange Server as the other devices. Also, I chose to use iCloud.
After that, I noticed that on a daily basis, contacts would appear without categories, first day, a few, around 5. Second day, 10 more. Third day, more 20. After the second day, I also noticed that the “display as” field (also known as “FiledAs”) was starting to show names with Last, First order. Here in Brazil we sort names as First Last. Of course, outlook, all android devices and also the iPad were all configured correctly (First, Last).
The problem was getting bigger every day. Yesterday, 900+ of my almost 2000 contact list were mixed up, missing their categories and also had their first and last names changed in the Filed As field.
After deleting, editing, restoring backups etc. more than once, I have finally found that the iCloud is probably the culprit.
Changed my iPad config to keep from syncing with iCloud and configured it to backup locally.
Deleted all accounts in all devices, deleted all data from contacts. Configured the accounts and left the devices syncing. Restored a backup. All devices synced and received the contacts.
Surprise: problem solved. So far, no missing categories, no inverted First, Last names. Maybe if anyone find himself in the same situation, it might help.

I have the same problem. My MacPro isn't on Lion, as I have lots of software that isn't compatible yet. But I have 10.7.2. on my MacBookPro and iOS5 on my iPhone and iPad.
I would like to go to iCloud for those devices that are capable to run it, but I do not want to loose sync services for my MacPro which is on 10.6.8. Will iCloud and MobileMe be in sync until 30.06.2012, so I can use them in parallel, or do I have to wait until all computers are updated to Lion?

  • ICloud with Outlook problems

I have upgraded to an iPhone and now want to use iCloud with Outlook.
I seem to remember having to remove this in the past also I have alternative profiles in Outlook.
Control Panel for iCloud is not creating an additional folder in Outlook.
    Any thoughts?

You need to leave more information like what is the ios5 device. I following instructions accidently set up two iclouds and then I couldn't get the contacts in. My mobileme email isn't going to work anymore because I set up an icloud using my store apple ID. Apparently the term apple ID can refer to any apple product ID that you make up not the one you use in the store. So you need to leave more infor on what is your problem to figure out how to help.

  • Syncing contacts with iCloud and Outlook

Hi, my iPhone is syncing one contact group ("from my PC") to Outlook and another ("iCloud") to iCloud. How can I merge everything and have all my contacts stored in MS Outlook and iCloud?

  • Icloud and outlook

I have lost everything twice - both times a message about not being able to access the ifniormation store on Outlook. First time ding a couple of scanpst operations fixed the problem but no i cannot sign out from iCloud and trying to "desync" by unticking and using apply is not working.
Being unable to download the calendar from iCloud means I can't reload onto a local calendar - any suggestions to avoid retyping a lot of material?

The gurus I talked to say "no". i-cloud will not synchronize with the regular outlook folder.

  • Icloud and outlook 2010 sync

    Hey there,
at the office we use outlook 2010 and icloud control panel to sync between our calendars and our iphones to work together. the problem is when we sync outlook calendars with icloud it creates another calendar in outlook (besides the local one).
so when we get an invitaion through email our local calendar gets it (and doesn't sync with icloud and the iphone)
and when i add another meeting on my iphone it goes to my icloud calendar in outlook and not to the local one.
any way to make the local calendar on outlook to be the icloud one? or any way to merge and sync them both?
    anyone?

iCloud is a seperate account (in Outlook) and it will not be the default account so invitations etc will not go to it.
The workaround is (a) dump iCloud and use Exchange or (b) dump Outlook.

  • ICloud and Outlook 2010

So I installed the iCloud Control Panel on my Windows 7 PC and every time I select "Calendar" in the navagation menu in Outlook, I receive a notification that Outlook is "Preparing Calendar for First Use". The problem is, I get this notification EVERY time I select "Calendar". It also mucks up Windows Authentication because now I have to enter in my network credentials each time I select, "Calendar". (Which I shouldn't have to.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled bot Outlook and the iCloud Control Panel and the behavior still persists. If I simply ininstall the iCloud control panel, Outlook goes back to working fine (no authentication prompts or calendar notifications) Any ideas?

  • Icloud and outlook 2007 not communicating any longer

I just noticed today that entries I made on my iphone (3gs using IOS6) are no longer showing up on my outlook 2007. (PC using vista 64)  the icloud calendar is not checked on outlook and when I check it to bring up my icloud calendar it says, "The set of folders cannot be opened. The information store could not be opened."  I try to get on the icloud control panel (I upgraded it several days ago to the icloud 2) and it says, "Repair the icloud control panel to use icloud with outlook"  I have repaired it over a dozen times now.  I have done a repair of my outlook.  I have taken icloud off and then reinstalled it to have it tell me the same thing.  I'm at wits end.  This was working three days ago, but now its as if they don't see each other.  If this has already been discussed, I apologize.  I did do a quick search and did not see anything that would help.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Yes it is elsewhere, however I have a Vista 32-bit that doesn't work and a Windows/7 64bit that doesn't work.  I think it's just generally "bad code" and OBVIOUSLY the person that was supposed to test it didn't.  I can't uninstall on my Vista machine because it will break all my Contacts and Calendar sharing too.  Therefore, for now, I guess I will just have to give up on sharing pictures until they get it fixed.
Which, BTW, has been an AWFULLY LONG TIME already.  I installed v2 over a week ago and Apple hasn't even acknowledged anywhere I've seen that they have an issue.
'Bout time to start sending emails to the press:  Maybe they can goad Apple into doing something.
There are several articles expounding about how great it is:  I will be replying to all I can find that it DOES NOT WORK AND APPLE DOES NOT CARE.  They sold several million new phones, all made in China, and now they are fat, dumb and happy.
