Icloud appears in my menu, but i am unable to select it

Icloud i not highlighted and can not be selected on my phone. i broke my screen and i am trying to back everything up before purchasing a new phone. i do not have an i cloud account and dont know how to create one without the phone option, someone please help

I'm also having the same problem, when before I hadn't. I've been trying to research this issue too w/ little success. All of a sudden I realized that not all my songs were playing and red squares w/ red circles appeared next to a bunch of music on my playlist. So I tried to delete my playlist & re-sync but I couldn't get alot of my songs back onto my iphone 4. I believe we're being forced into subscribing to the itunes Match where it stores all your music (purchased & uploaded) on the cloud. Hoping I'm wrong.

Problem: Unsorted bookmarks appear in bookmarks menu, but fail to appear in Library/unsorted bookmarks.

After a virus attack ... and recovery (I'm clean now) I removed (shouldn't have) these files from: bookmarks.bak and files from the .../Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ca1ytozj.default\bookmarkbackups folder. I then reinstalled 3.6 and imported an html bookmarks file.
The problem started then. Additionally each time firefox restarted, my imported bookmarks would completely disappear and I would have to import them again. So then I uninstalled firefox 3.6 saving personal data & prefs, and installed 4.01.
Same problem with unsorted bookmarks showing in the bookmarks menu but NOT showing in Library/unsorted bookmarks. As to whether my imported bookmarks disappear on a restart of firefox 4.01, I don't yet know because I got started on this problem report.
I think what I need to do in uninstall and choose NOT to save personal data & prefs

Immediately after posting above I force quit firefox and restarted.
Unsorted bookmarks still appear in bookmarks menu but NOT in Library/unsorted bookmarks.
This time, however my imported bookmarks didn't disappear on the restart.

It sounds like the iPhone has Activation Lock still activated. The following Knowledge Base article provides the methods available for removing the previous owner's account:

IPod won't appear in source menu but in others

My iPod doesn't appear in my source menu on iTunes but it does on other computers with iTunes. I tried to reset my iPod but I can't go any further since an error message comes up on the update software. I tried to reinstall the software but I just get the same message. There is no way for me to reset my iPod unless I do it on another computer, but if I do this. Then I propably won't be able to add any more songs to my iPod from my computer. It's only half way full and it still charges on my computer.
Please help me with this problem since I'm out of options with the help on the net.

Have just purchased Face Time and it now appears on the dock but I'm unable to open it. Error message tells me there is an internal Face Time error. error.

Have just purchased Fac Time. it is downloaded and the icon appears on the dock. When I try to open it i get the message "An internal Face Time error has ocurred". Any suggrstions for a novice.

I have decided to dedicate this thread to the wonderful errors of Lion OSX. Each time I find a huge problem with Lion I will make note of it here.
Today I discovered a new treasure of doggie poop in Lion. No Save As......
I repeat. No Save As. In text editor I couldn't save the file with a new extension. I finally accomplished this oh so majorly difficult task (because we all know how difficult it should be to save a file with a new extension) by pressing duplicate and then saving a copy of the file with a new extension. Yet then I had to delete the first copy and send it to trash. And of course then I have to secure empty trash because if I have to do this the rest of my mac's life I will be taking up a quarter of percentage of space with duplicate files. So this is the real reason they got rid of Save As: so that it would garble up some extra GB on the ole hard disk.
So about 20 minutes of my time were wasted while doing my homework and studying for an exam because I had to look up "how to save a file with a new extension in mac Lion" and then wasted time sitting here and ranting on this forum until someone over at Apple wakes up from their OSX-coma.
are you freaking kidding me Apple? I mean REALLY?!!!! who the heck designed this?!!! I want to know. I want his or her name and I want to sit down with them and have a long chat. and then I'd probably splash cold water on their face to wake them up.

TCD present in User Menu but...unable to execute ....

1. I have Z121XXXX TCD
2. This TCD is present in the User Menu ( How did it get there ??)
3. User attempts to execute ....unable to do so.
4. Msg " You are not authorized to execute this tansaction
I did the following :
1. If this TCD is valid and is present in the table: Yes its presnt
2. Is this TCD attached to a Role ( Thru SUIM ) No Its not.
My Hurdle;
1.If I need to attach this TCD to a user am I not to do it through a Role ?

(note) This is the role side of stuff. Authorizations are held in profiles which nowadays are maintained with the profile generator. I assume an 'all green lights in PFCG' situation, wher roles and profiles are in sync.

am tyring to set up my ipad 2 to back up automatically to either my computer or icloud or both. instructions say to select "icloud" in the settings menu but "icloud" is not an option in my settings menu. Neither is it in my itunes menu.

First, to access documents you must use an app designed for that specific Document type. So Pages will not be able to open PDFs. The Documents app by Readdle can handle PDFs though. In the latter case, you'd open the app, click the menu icon at its top left, and click Open to go to your iCloud Drive. With Pages, if you had files outside the main Pages folder, click + then iCloud and navigate to the file's location.

You shouldn't have to change your iTunes account to not have to purchase it twice. If your devices are using different iTunes IDs, just purchase it on one device, then import it to your iTunes library by connecting the device to your computer, opening iTunes and going to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases. Once in iTunes, you should be able to sync it to your other device (assuming both devices are syncing with the same iTunes library). (And even if they were syncing with separate libraries, you could use Home Sharing to copy the app from one library to the other.)
Or, am I missunderstanding something?
