ICloud Back-Up Now option?
I have an iPhone 5s and 200GB iCloud storage.
I have updated to iOS8.
Where is the "Back-Up Now" option in Settings?
Why won't my iCloud back up?

Goto settings>icloud scroll down to "backup" and you will find "Back Up Now" option.

My old phone broke and I was given a new phone. Shortly after my data was recovered on the new phone I did the new update. Now the "back up now" option is gone when I go into settings and icloud. Can I get it back?

The iOS 8 update changed the location of the "Back Up Now" button. You can find it here:

On your iOS 8 device: Go to Settings > iCloud > Backup, then tap Back Up Now.

ICloud "Back Up Now" won't work.
No error message. Using iPhone 4 with iOS 5. Tried my gmail address and me.com addess with same results. Turned on "Back up to iCloud" in iTunes.

where is the "back up now" option found? all i have for a tool bar is the "system preferences" options along the top. i have used it before, but i can no longer find it, and i am confident i won't, no matter how obvious.
there are two ways you can do "back up now".
1. If you keep TM in the dock, right-click on it and choose 'back up now".
2. in TM system preferences check the box to show it in the menu bar. you probably accidentally unchecked it. you can get to "back up now " from TM toolbar icon. -
hi, i just tried backing up my iphone on icloud but th option to 'Back Up Now" doesnt work. when i tap on it, nothing happens. Im worried because my iPhone has never been backed up before. Please help
Reset the phone then try it again: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until you see the apple, then let go.

My question is about the 'Restore Backup' option on iTunes (Not 'Restore iPhone'). So, if I click on Back Up Now, then 'Restore Backup', would that go through the process of erasing everything on my phone as new then restore whatever iTunes has backed up?
I do not want this to happen, as with previous experience iTunes doesn't restore a mirror of what the iPhone was when it was backed up as is the case with iCloud backups.
What I am trying to do is, as I've found a method on Youtube, there is an application where I can delete all the multimedia saved in my 'iMessages' so clear up some space. As doing that manually through the phone would take a lifetime. The method is to backup on iTunes, then using the backup created, importing that into the application then deleting the messages through that then restoring the phone using that amended backup.
So back to my question, would restoring through 'Restore Backup' just restore the backup internally or would it flush the entire phone and then restore the backup? And if it does so, what would be lost in the restore?

FahmidiCloud should overwrite your phone with the data stored in your account, preserving your newer data. However, to be sure I would go to Settings>iCloud and turn data syncing to Off before restoring the backup. Then, after restoring the backup, turn the data syncing back to on, and when prompted about Merging with iCloud, choose Don't Merge. This will ensure that the data in your iCloud account overwrites the data on your phone (which is your goal).
Also, you don't sync text messages with iCloud so you will end up losing your more recent messages when they are overwritten by the backup. -
I have an iPod nano (3rd generation). I've recently dowloaded iCloud. So now when I open iTunes the window is entirely different. And I don't have the previous menu options. I have downloaded audiobooks for years. Is it not supported by iOS5?

Anyone know if I can transfer my playlist from iphone to Itunes on my laptop.
I am not keen to sync my iphone to my new laptop in case it wipes out my playlist.
My Computer had crashed so I am unable to export a playlist.
I had backed up songs to icloud which are now on my laptop however without the original playlists folders?

I would turn off the automatic syncing so that way you can see what is on your iPhone. From there, you should be able to see what is on your iPhone and then can export out the playlists and then import them back to your library. I would also recommend backing up your iPhone before going through with this process. To export a playlist, have it highlighted then go to File > Library > Export Playlist…

Open iTunes Preferences and select the Devices tab. Select the option to prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically.

Icloud is not backing up daily automatically on my phone or ipad I have to select back up now each day manually why is it not doing when locked on wifi
Make sure your devices are also connected to external power or the wifi will disconnect after a few seconds. If they are and they still won't back up, it may be caused by a corrupt existing backup that needs to be deleted, or by data on your device that is causing the backup to fail. To troubleshoot these, try deleting your last iCloud backup (if you have one) by turning off iCloud Backup in Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup, then tap Manage Storage, tap your device under Backups, then tap Delete Backup. Then go back and turn iCloud Backup back on and try backing up again.
If it still won't back up, you may have an app or something in your camera roll that is causing the backup to fail. To locate which one, go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage, tap the name of your device under Backups, under Backup Options tap Show All Apps, then turn them all to Off (including camera roll) and try backing up again. If the backup is successful, then the camera roll and/or one of your apps is causing the backup to fail and you'll have to located by process of elimination. Turn the camera roll On and try backing up again. If it succeeds, turn some of your apps to On and try backing up again. If it succeeds again, turn some more apps to On then try again; repeat this process until it fails. Eventually you'll be able to locate the problem app and exclude it from your backup. -
how can I turn back the suggest option when I purchase a song? somehow I close the window that suggest the song similar to what we purchase on itunes

I share an Apple ID with someone but we are now on iOS8 and getting each others messages on our iphones and ipad. How can I split the account safely as well as protect icloud backed up data?
Use different Apple IDs for iMessage (and also FaceTime) to avoid getting each others text messages (and FaceTime calls). One of you should go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive (and Settings>FaceTime), tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with a different ID. You can continue to shared the same ID for the iTunes store and other services.

iphone 4 when power on stuck in itune logo, is it possible to do back up now? (never do back up in pc/icloud before)You could try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. If it still shows the "connect to iTunes" screen, you can't do anything than restore it using recovery mode, explained here:

And at this point backups can't be taken anymore, sorry. -
I know that iCloud backs-up apps and other stuff to your phone incase you want restore from a back-up if you start a New iPhone. My question is if I start a new iPhone (not use the restore from back-up option) and redownload apps like (Games, Instagram), would my pics show up on Instagram and would my Games show it was saved and the acccomplisments will remain from the last place I left out.

Icloud or itunes backup, only backs up app data, not the app itself.
so if you restore as new, then there is no app data on your phone, you start out new... -
just got the new 5s and was retrieving my icloud back up, it then reset automatically and now it isn't turning back on. Been staring at the apple logo for an hour and the bar has barely moved at all. Looks like it is frozen. Any suggestions? How long should it take to retreive the icloud back up?
If it won't start by conventional means and the battery is charged take it back.

ICloud backed up my iPad yesterday at 3:00 pm. After that I inadvertently deleted an app called Good Reader which contained a lot of data. iCloud still shows the app, how do I get it back to my iPad?
Welcome to the Apple Community.
To recover completely you'd need to restore from a back up that contained the app data. Alternatively you can just restore the app by redownloading it.
You can re-download content purchased from the app store using the purchased option which is revealed by tapping the updates option at the bottom of the screen of the App store app on your iOS device.
