ICloud backup is stuck unable access to account

iCloud backup is stuck unable access to account

Might be related to the login issues iCloud was experiencing earlier (see http://www.apple.com/asia/support/systemstatus/).  You might try again later.

  • TS3992 Altho' my 4S iPhone is connected to Wi-fi & I have a correct Apple/icloud ID and password, I keep getting the message "icloud backup Failed. Turn off airplane mode, or use Wi-Fi to enable iCloud backup." Should I delete my account, setting up a new

I cannot activate my iCloud backup of my 4S iPhone, even though I have definitely deactivated Airplane mode, and am connected to Wi-Fi.  I also have a correct Apple/iCloud ID and password.
Should I delete my iCloud account and set up a new one??
Please give me some assistance with this problem!
    Sincerely, Brianrit

To unfreeze it, reset it by holding the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release.
To troubleshoot your problem with backing up to iCloud, this may be caused by a corrupt existing backup that needs to be deleted, or by data on your iPad that is preventing the backup from succeeding.  To troubleshoot these, try deleting your last iCloud backup (if you have one) by turning off iCloud Backup in Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup, then tap Manage Storage, swipe across your backup and tap Delete, then go back and turn iCloud Backup back on and try backing up again.
If it still won't back up, you may have an app that is preventing the backup from succeeding.  To locate which one, go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage, tap the name of your device under Backups, under Backup Options tap Show All Apps, then turn them all to Off (including camera roll) and try backing up again.  If it succeeds, then the camera roll and/or one of your apps is preventing the backup and you'll have to located by process of elimination. Turn the camera roll On and try backing up again.  If it succeeds, turn some of your apps to On and try backing up again.  If it succeeds again, turn some more apps to On then try again; repeat this process until it fails.  Eventually you'll be able to locate the problem app and exclude it from your backup.

  • ICloud Backup message stuck AND iPhone can´t reset

Much like other resolved problems, my iPhone 4 is stuck on the iCloud backup message "This iPhone hasn´t been backed up in X weeks. Backups happen when this iPhone is plugged in, locked, and connect to Wi-Fi." Hitting "OK" on this notification does nothing. A simple reset would resolve the problem. However, the power button (top button) is nonfunctioning. I have been relying on assistive touch to lock my iPhone whenever I need to. However, I can´t use the assistive touch lock screen button in conjuction with the home button to sucessfully reset my iPhone. Is there another way I can get get rid of the stuck iCloud backup message? Am I simply not using the assistive touch/home button method correctly? Thanks for reading this and please help!

Found the answer from another user after posting the question.  Hold down the power off and home keys until the apple logo appears and then let go.  Phone will re-boot.

  • Does iCloud backup all photos & emails from earthlink account?

    Hi,
Just updated my wife's iPad4 to iOS7 yesterday....
She hates it for the most part and wishes she could go back to iOS6.....
Meanwhile, the problem we need the communities help with is the following....
    1.  Photos
We noticed that some photos in her library seem to have disappeared.
Also, the way the photos are shown and organized in Photos is different now. So, she's not happy about that either...but not sure there's anything we can do about this now.
    2.  Restore From iCloud Backup
Had set iPad to make daily backups in iCloud, so, know from reading that there should be 3 backups there.
I'm thinking that most recent backup will be from after iOS7 install and the other 2 when iOS6 was installed.
So, assume that to try and get missing photos back, I should restore using one of the iOS6 backups, correct?
Also, since I have to erase iPad before restoring it, we're concerned whether or not emails will be restored in Mail. We use Earthlink for emails. So, will they be restored?
And what about emails received from others?
Went to iCloud.com and logged in to check what I could see there regarding data there. The contact info in my wife's Contacts app is there. But don't see any photos or Photo icon there. Is that typical or should I see this there? Don't want to erase her iPad and restore and then see that there's no photos on it......
    Appreciate any and all input!
    Thanks,
    Mark

It only backs up the photos on your device at the time of the backup.  If you delete photos from your device and back up again, the old backup containing the deleted photos will be overwritten by one that doesn't and they will be lost.  Always import your photos to your computer before deleting them: iOS: Import personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer.

  • HT204053 My email has changed and I can't remember my log on for iCloud. How can I access my account to make those changes

How can I changed the email account for my iCloud account when it is set up with an old email account I can no longer access?  I can't remember my password for iCloud.

An "email account" is part of the icloud account, so I'm not sure what you are asking for.
    To manage the Apple ID:
    https://appleid.apple.com
If you need to change the password, under the Manage your Apple ID section on the right, click the link to Change your password.

  • Backed up by iphone. Just downloaded icloud to my PC. Accessed my account, I want to print hardcopy to contacts.

I backed up my iPhone to I cloud.
downloaded I cloud to windows 7 PC
I want to print out my contact list.
    How?

    Hey EmilyEliza,
As you are clearly aware, it is important for you to have backups of your important data, including all of these photos you are currently keeping on your iPhone. While it is possible to use iTunes or iCloud to do backups of your iPhone, the problem becomes how to access those backups if you have deleted the photos from your iPhone. Once you have done the backup and then removed the photos from the iPhone, the only way to access the photos is by restoring the backups to the phone. See this article for information about backups made from the iPhone -
Back up and restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch using iCloud or iTunes - Apple Support
If you want to easily access the photos once they are off of the iPhone, another approach to this would be to import your photos from the iPhone into an application on your Mac, such as iPhoto. To learn how to do this, use the steps in this article -
Import photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your Mac or Windows PC - Apple Support
Once those photos are on your computer, it is still important to back up those photos to somewhere else, so you can be sure of their safety before removing them from the iPhone. Your Mac’s Time Machine application is one method of doing this -
Mac Basics: Time Machine backs up your Mac - Apple Support
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    Happy computing,
    Brett L

  • I set up new phone (5) as a "new phone instead of backing up from icloud. How can I get back in to use the icloud backup? If I hit "delete account" does that just clear the new phone or does it get rid of my whole icloud account.

In the set-up process I clicked "set up as new phone" when I should have clicked "back up from icloud". I can't use itunes for the back up as it is not current. Is there a way to get back into setup? If I click "delete accout" in icloud management will it clear just my phone (so I can start over) or will it actually delete my icloud?

Settings>General, scroll to bottom of screen and tap Reset, choose to delete all data.  Then attach to itunes and choose to perform a restore.  You'll get the option to restore from icloud.

  • ICloud backup is unable to access the account, because email I used for iCloud account is been deleted. And my iPad is stuck with this note on a screen, can't go Settings. How do I delete my account?

iCloud backup is unable to access my account, because email I used for iCloud account is been deleted. And my iPad is stuck with this note on a screen, can't go Settings. How do I delete or edit my iCloud account?

You can eirther I think go on ITunes or if you can get to settings you would just go to iCloud.

  • Ipad stuck with icloud backup window - unable to access account

My iPad is stuck with the icloud backup window showing.
Both the Ignore button and the Settings button are ignored (they blink when I touch them, but nothing happens).
I cannot power off.  No other icons on the screen respond.
I plugged it in, but that did not change the symptoms.
The wi-fi is working just fine for all my wireless devices.
I have been hitting ignore to the icloud backup  notice for some time now since I changed my Apple Password as I have nothing on the iPad that I wish to back up.
Now it is unusable and I need it this afternoon for my facetime with my daughter in Australia.
    Help.
    Jim

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the iPad shuts down. Ignor the off slider if it appear. Then turn the iPad back on using the On button.
Not sure if this will resolve the issue, but shouldn't hurt.

    Hi there
I had the same problem and I found this answer to a similar question to ours, so I copied and pasted it for you
Reset the device by holding down the home button and the sleep/wake button at the same time for approximately 10 seconds.  After it resets the message will be gone and you can go to settings > icloud and put in your password.
That seems to be a bug with the password alert where it won't respond correctly sometimes.
    Hope this helps

  • Ipad is locked- unable to turn off/on - Message "iCloud Backup unable to access  account" unable to access settings. Totally locked up.  Please help

I am unable to turn off/on - Message "iCloud Backup unable to access  account" unable to access settings. Totally locked up.  Please help

Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
