ICloud backup with no wifi

The wifi on my iPhone 4S is greyed out.  I tried doing a DFU restore but the wifi still does not work.  I'm going to wait until my upgrade to get a new phone but my most recent backup is on iCloud, not iTunes.  Since I can't restore my iCloudn back up without wifi, is there anyway to download my most recent iCloud backup to iTunes, or is there anyway to restore my iCloud backup on my phone with NO wifi?

google EPPB, it allows you to retrieve icloud backups.

Is it possible to recover my data from iCloud backup without working wifi? I have as many other upgraded my iPhone 4S to iOS 7.0.2 with the result that the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth no longer works. However, i can connect to iTunes via cable but there is wrong version of backup.

    Answer is no.
If you want the iCloud backup you have to have n internet connection, thus WiFi.
The not working WiFi has happened with quite a number of users.
It is not exactly clear what is the cause but there are suggestions to clear it up:
Some people have had success by removing an apostrophe from the iPhone name. If your iPhone is called something like “John’s iPhone” then this might work. Go to Settings > General > About > Name and change it to something with no apostrophe.
Some people have reported success by putting the iPhone into Airplane mode and then going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings, but the problem may return.
You could also try going to Settings > Control Center and disable Access on Lock Screen then turn your iPhone off and on again.
Make sure that your router firmware is up to date.
Try backing up your iPhone and then restoring it. Check how to factory reset an iPhone for details.
If nothing is working for you, try contacting Apple or take your iPhone into an Apple Store.
    Succes, Lex

  • I'm having issues with iCloud backup with comcast since iO6 update

I'm having issues with iCloud backup with comcast since iO6 update.  I'm able to back via work wifi but not at home.  Any ideas?

    Hi BmoreHunter.
As far as using the bridge mode method you'd need to see what CLJDOhas to say, as that user is the only one that I see in this thread who used this method. The method that worked for me is different. I went out and bought a new modem. This made the most sense to me since the firmware in the unit that comcast gave me had issues and I am paying to rent the thing, I figured that I'll save some money if I just buy my own.
I ended up purchasing a motorola SURFboard eXtreme (model SB6121) for $70 (happened to be on sale) from my local Target. For another $7 I was able to secure a 2yr warranty against failure, which was my only hesitation in buying vs renting.
This modem should work just fine for you since you are a comcast customer. If you decide to go with a different modem, the important thing is to make sure that you purchase a modem that is compatible with the technology that your ISP (in this case comcast) uses. Also DOCSIS 3.0 is the "flavor" of cable modem you want as it will give you better performace than DOCSIS 2.0 devices (such as an older Motorola SURFboard).
Once you buy the modem you will have to call comcast and have them add the modem to your account. They'll ask for the MAC address of the modem, then send a re-set signal to it, so make sure you are home when you call and can connect/disconnect the modem as needed. After your modem is added to your account and up and running you can then connect your new AirPort Express to the modem (via ethernet cable) and you should be all set!

  • Can I share my iCloud storage with my wife? I'm interested in using the storage for both phones, hers and mine.

Can I share my iCloud storage with my wife? I'm interested in using the storage for both phones, hers and mine.

You will not want to do that and you should just have two 5GB free accounts.
Too much risk of merging or losing data.

How can i use "icloud backup" with ios 4.2.1? I tried to update my ihpone 3G wih the newest IOs. Seems not to be possible.

  • Can I restore an earlier iCloud backup with only one visible?

I had to restore my iPhone 3GS because attempting to transfer purchases from it somehow made it unreadable by any program. When I tried to Restore it, the Restore failed, and the phone told me to try Restoring again. However, while it was deciding that it had failed to Restore itself, the defective phone backed itself up over my saved iCloud backup (it backed up again before I shut off auto-backup, because for some reason, I couldn't access Settings until it finished mis-installing the Apps in queu).
I couldn't back the phone up on my new computer since the transfer never completed and iTunes crashed due to that failure. All the data that had been successfully transferred from my phone to my computer before the Transfer failed was gone when I got iTunes up again. Now I only have an iCloud backup with the failed Restore, missing a lot of my products, data, and functionality. How do I restore the original backup that wasn't screwed up?

I didn't have a Choose Backup option. In fact, when I attempted to Restore following this suggestion, my phone just immediately started the Restore process (from my computer, which had no backup saved to it, and it gave and continues to give no option to permit Restoration from iCloud) and ended up removing all data, apps, and accounts on my phone.
    Now I have nothing.
My single iCloud backup appears to still exist, but it's useless because I can't do anything with it except delete it...and it's from after my phone crashed anyway, so it's not fully functional. But it would be better than what I have now, if I could actually get to it.

  • Can I share an icloud account with my wife but not share contacts?

My wife and I want to share the same icloud account. We both have iphones, and our contacts are getting messed up. Is there a way of storing our contacts separately? Or do I need to create a new icloud account for my wife? If so, how do I do that, as both our e-mail addresses are already linked to the existing appleID.

I personally would recommend to use two different Apple IDs/iCloud accounts for iCloud. And of course, you would still be able to share calendars, reminders and you could still set up "your" account as a secondary account on her device, so that she could also still access your email address.
To set up a new primary account, please go to Settings > iCloud > Delete Account (This would only delete the account from the device). Then create a new account here. After you set up her new account, you could add your account as a secondary iCloud account in "Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendar > iCloud" and then activate just only Mail (and of course keep contacts turned off).

  • HT201269 There is reference to Icloud backup with regard to restoring to new iphone - but I don't see step by step instructions on how to restore my icloud stored stuff to my new phone.

Where are the step by step instructions for restoring my stuff from icloud to a new iphone?

    See https://support.apple.com/kb/ph12521.
If you haven't set up your phone yet, go through the setup screens and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup and follow the prompts.  If it's already set up, go to Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings, then go through the setup assistant again to access the option to restore your iCloud backup.

  • Icloud backup with shared email address

My wife & I each have Iphone 4 and are upgrading to Iphone 6 this week.  I just used Icloud to update my phone for the first time
and want to backup my wife's as well.  Can we do the using our current shared email address because we have diffieint phone numbers?

Yes, you can back up multiple devices to the same iCloud account. make sure the devices have distinct names to prevent any confusion when you use the back ups to set up the new phones.

  • Icloud Backup with separate Apple ID's: Purchased songs etc

if I use one Apple ID for icloud and and another for iTunes will my purchased songs be backed up?

iCloud has nothing to do with content like songs and apps that you purchased. You could use one Apple ID for iTunes and App Stores that you would have to set up in "Settings > iTunes & App Stores (Both of you could use the same Apple ID for that). And then everyone of you could set up a (new) iCloud account in "Settings > iCloud" so that everyone of you has its own icloud.com email address, calendars, notes, reminders, data, backups etc.

  • HT204053 icloud backup with multiple devices and apple ids

Wondering if I have the appropriate set up to ensure all my data, purchases, apps, etc. is properly backed up to my icloud (personal email account)?  Here is my current set up.  PC: itunes - personal email; iPhone: icloud & store purchases - personal email; iPad: icloud-work email and store purchases-personal email.  So will store purchases on my iPad still go to my personal icloud?  (Note I can't change the iPad: icloud log in - iPad owned by work so required setting)
Also, does icloud copy any data from my PC other than itunes?  Not sure if the set up questions when I icloud on my PC are related to my PC or to the various devices.  For instance, "Mail" is an option - which mail account is this?
Any clarification on these questions would be much appreciated!

    My iphone 5s = apple id 1
    Husband iphone 4s = apple id 2
My ipad = apple id 3
Son #1 ipad mini = apple id 4
Son #2 ipad mini = apple id 5
For iCloud.. Not quite, you want the same ID for iCloud on your phone and iPad so you have the same info on each. (so perhaps ID 1 on both.
But if you want to share your music (assuming lets say its your ID 1 that has the iTunes account), you should all use ID 1 for iTunes.

  • How to restore iCloud backups earlier ios version to new phone with latest ios?

Does anybody know how to restore an icloud backup with i.os 7.1.2 version to a new iphone5 with ios 7.0.4 version?
    thanks

Set up the phone as a new phone, not from the backup. Go to Settings > General > Software Update, and perform the update. Then go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings to repeat the setup, and this time choose Restore from backup.

  • ICloud Backup 3.8GB in 5 minutes?

    Hi all,
I've just bought a 5S and after restoring from an iCloud backup (from an hour previous from my old iPhone 4) I then deleted the old backup which gave me 5GB free - so far no problems..
I then thought I'd better start a new iCloud backup with my new 5S.... I hit the backup button and 5 minutes later it said it was done - showing the backup as 3.8GB. Now I know my broadband is fast but it's not THAT fast..!!
So the question is... how did the new backup do it's thing so quickly.. My guess is that even though I deleted the old backup (which showed my account as 5GB free) it must have kept it and kind of added the new differences between the old and the new - or something like that..
Can anyone shed any real answers though?
    TIA Steve
