ICloud calendar looks different on desktop today

My iCloud calendar changed it's look on my desktop (in Chrome, Firefox and IE) today to a "flatter" design.  But it looks the same as always on my iPad.  Have others noticed a difference?

The change was made late last night.  This was to make it consistent with iOS 7, which is being released today.  This format has been in beta for some time, and was just made the default.

Icloud shows different times for events to input on the iphone

After turning off iCloud, I would reload the Outlook backup file. That should recover all of your Outlook data. I would assume that you have Outlook set to either backup or autoarchive on a regular basis. After that you can see about turning iCloud back on. I would also believe that syncing the iCloud calendar and Outlook would be the same as doing it with an empty iPhone calendar and Outlook, you need to make sure there is a unique calendar event in iCloud that does not exist in Outlook to ensure you get a merge option. Not sure since I do not use iCloud, however you should be able to find information here http://www.apple.com/icloud/

  • Shared iCloud calendar events not updating on shared devices

I had successfully set up a shared iCloud calendar with my friend which enabled us to edit and view the same calendar on our iPhones and iMacs.
Everything was working fine until a few days ago when it stopped working. When either one of us created new events, they wouldn't show up on the other person's calendar and when they seldomly did, not even an alert popped up like it used to which the person had to go under the invitations page and accept them.
What could possibly have gone wrong? We tried deleting the calendar then re-sharing but it stopped working very suddenly.

    Hi trenten7,
Here is an article that goes through troubleshooting iCloud calendars, including different steps for different devices:

I would start with troubleshooting the two Macs and then move on to the iPhones.

  • Desktop and iCloud calendar differ

My husband is subscribed to my calendars. Previously he subscribed to them thru Mobile Me. On the migration to iCloud some of the calendars duplicated. I deleted all the duplicates from my calendars, re-set it up thru icloud and re-shared them. However, although the calendars now appear on his web calendar perfectly, and he can edit them, some (ones which were recurring without an end date) are duplicated on his desktop Mac calendar and he can't edit them. Additionally, these are appearing up to 10 times on his iphone - this 10 times appearance happened suddenly a few months ago, rendering his iphone useless for looking at any calendars.
Obviously I did something wrong in the initial migration from MM to iCloud. But I can't seem to fix it. None of the calendars are duplicated on either my Web calendar or my desktop calendar. None are duplicated on his Web calendar. Only the recurring, endless ones are duplicated on his desktop calendar. And only some of the recurring endless ones appear up to 10 times on his iphone.
If anyone has any suggestions on what to do, we'd both be very grateful.
    thanks!
    WG

    samdale67,
Have you had any luck fixing this problem yet?
I just noticed today that my iCloud calendar is consistently one hour behind my iPhone4s calendar. It's as if my iCloud calendar never got the Daylight Savings Time Spring Forward message. The iPhone, on the other hand, updated to DST right on schedule. It's annoying because I'm starting to use my iCloud calendar and would like the time change to be applied.

  • ICloud calendar (iCal) looks better than the one in MBP

    Hi,
My calendar in MBP looks different from my calendar when viewed thru
    https://www.icloud.com/#calendar
The iCloud one has a timeline under the calendar etc. Can I make my "MBP calendar a look alike?
    Please advice,
    pyry

No, unfortunately there is no way to do that.

  • Suddenly today some entries on my pc icloud calendar can't be accessed/edited - they just won't open. Some work, others don't. (All OK if l try to do it on iphone/ipad) All worked fine till today

I find today when I open my icloud calendar on my PC that I cannot access/edit some of the entries - some are fine, others just won't open. If I click on them, they open a 'new entry' box, but will not give me access to the original entry.
If I go to my iphone or ipad, I can access them all fine.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled icloud on my PC, but still the same thing happens.
Is anyone else experiencing similar problems?

All I can suggest is that you open that file on the MBA and save it as a new file, then see if you can open the new one on the iMac.

  • How do iCloud calendars work with different devices?

    Hi
iCloud is driving me mad! All I want it to do is what it promised - keep several devices in sync, but it seems to either do nothing or spawn duplicates. Part of my problem is that I can't find anything that tells me exactly what it does with each device.
    Here's my set up:
One Mac - MBPro 17" running iCal, Address Book and Mail (I've completely given up on trying to get Entourage 2008 to play nicely) on Lion
One PC - W7 Pro using Outlook - this is normally my main machine (sorry)
    One iPad
    One iPhone
Appointments are normally made either on the PC or the iPhone and then disseminated to the other devices. iPhone and iPad are normally synced and recharged to the PC, so sync quite happily with Outlook.
The odd one out is the Mac, which i am trying to get synced without lots of duplication.
Originally I set up iCloud on everything. So on all devices I ended up with 2 calendars - 'On this Device' and 'iCloud'. Why do I need two calendars? if I make a change to my device's calendar I just want iCloud's calendar to change and for it then to change all other devices! I really don't understand the logic of what is going on and this is why I am having problems. Am I supposed to turn visibility of iCloud calendar off everywhere so that it just does its stuff in the background? I presume so, otherwise every appointment is duplicated on every device.
I've now turned it off everywhere because i ended up with three or four calendars showing on every device and massive duplication problems. Then when I turned it off iCloud deleted all my historical information and left me with a blank calendar. Thanks Apple.
What's really missing from Apple's documentation is an explanation what is actually going on under the hood and therefore of the best strategy to adopt.
Should I let the PC and iPad/iPhone do their stuff without iCloud and just sync one device to iCloud and also sync the Mac to it. This would reduce the chances of lots of duplication.
    Any guidance gratefully received.
    TP

Will I still get two calendars on outlook on the pc, because that caused lots of confusion last time?
I don't know about Outlook on PCs I'm afraid, so can't answer that question.
if I end up cut down to just one calendar on the ios devices, will that work off line?
Yes. All devices/computers cache copies of the calendars locally for offline use, then any changes are automatically uploaded next time you have an internet connection.

  • I enter specific times on the computer icloud calendar and the times are three (3) hours different when viewed on my iphone. I have checked the time settings on the iphone and it is correct (EST).Where do I go next?

I have entered dates and specific times on my computers icloud calendar.  When I view the dates and times on my iphone the times are three (3) hours later. I have checked the time zone settings on my iphone and it is correct (EST).  Where do I go next?

Restoring is the answer. It sounds as if there is a rogue process constantly draining your battery.
The issue you face is that, if you restore your backup thereafter, you risk the problem coming straight back with your files.
Store your files individually and it is time to start fresh.

  • How can I move my Google calendar to iCloud calendar???

On the iPhone I sync the calendar and mail (without contacts) with google. I want to move the current Google calendar to iCloud and start syncing with it from now on.
I could export google calendar to an ical file but iCloud calendar doesn't have an import option. I don't have an Apple computer.
So, how can I back up all my google calendar entries into iCloud???
    Thanks!

So I solved this today.......I really wanted to switch everything over to iCloud calendar from Google Calendar (and had entries since 2008).....The easiest way to do this is using iCal on a Mac. The problem was I don't have a Mac. So I went down to my local Apple store (I guess you could use a friend's or work Mac as well). I asked them if I could use a Mac for a bit to get my iCloud calendar to work and was allowed to do so. Here's what I did....
I opened my google calendar on the store Mac's safari (or maybe it was firefox, I don't remember now)
I went into settings and found the export section. Then I exported all my calendars onto the desktop in a Zip file(I have 13 of them!)
Next I opened iCal on the Mac. I added 13 different calendar titles (I used the same titles from my Google calendar) under the add calendar setting (this would be so much easier if I didn't have so many different calendars)
Next I imported each calendar from the Zip file into their respective calendar titles(again this would be easy with fewer calendars but even with 13 of them it only took 10 minutes)
Finally I went to network settings, opened up iCloud setting and put in my user name and password. All my calendars uploaded to my iCloud calendar.
I opened iCloud calendar on safari and logged in. All my calendars were there. They weren't in the same colors as the one's on my google calendar but all of it was there (More on this later).
To finish up I deleted my iCloud account settings under network settings, deleted all the iCal entries, and logged off of the the iCloud and Google calendars (don't want anyone in my stuff)
When I got home I logged in to iCloud and changed the calendar colors to suit my preferences.
Sorry this was a bit long winded....all in all it took about 20-25 minutes and was really easy

  • Is Searching iCloud Calendar Possible?

I love how you can look at your iCloud calendars via a web browser in addition to your iOS devices (iPhone 5/ iPad / etc.)...but perhaps I am overlooking something in the interface...but I cannot seem to do a simple search of your calendar in ANY WAY?
I have converted ALL my Google calendars over to iCloud calendars since Google is slowly eliminating functionality like Exchange ActiveSync...which starts affecting how calendars appear.  My wife and I use multiple calendars that we share and love how the iCloud calendars work on our iPhone 5 devices...but I also love being able to access our same calendars via a browser on a PC (Chrome/iE/Safari)...but I seemed to have gone backwards in an important way - I don' see any search function.
I have tried all three browsers (Chrome, iE, Safari) and it does not behave any differently.
Am I mistaken or is this simply something Apple overlooked?  If Apple did overlook this feature...is there plans to add it and if so - when?
Thanks for any feedback any of you may provide on this subject.

Using Mac Calendar and iPhone calendar app searches used to work for me in lieu of having a search app in iCloud calendar, but since upgrading to Yosemite my late-2009 iMac's desktop calendar is in a more-or-less constant state of freeze / crash (locks up from 5 to 15 minutes every time I click on the program), displays all the calendars even those that are supposedly hidden, and not all the information from iCloud shows up on my phone (although it does show up on the desktop Calendar for some reason), so I have exactly zero ways left to search. The only thing I can use Calendar for now is to do everything on iCloud or phone then once a day I open the desktop version but only if I need to print (it shows everything from iCloud and the phone and I can turn off calendars I don't want to see, but only from the print menu), and printing now takes 1/2 hour or longer whereas it used to only take maybe less than a minute. I had hoped that OS X 10.10.1 would solve this, but it hasn't, nor has adding an extra 8gb SDRAMM, resetting PRAM, resetting permissions, using Disk Utility to analyze and repair the disk, rebooting, reinstalling Yosemite or anything else that has been suggested to me. The only suggestion I haven't tried yet is a blank install of Yosemite because it would take too long to reinstall everything after wiping the hard drive and I am not sure I remember all my product info for every program on the computer. The 10.10.1 patch solved my stability problems with preview, safari, iPhoto, and my third party software seems to work okay, at least the ones I've used since the "upgrade" to Yosemite. My suggestion is that if you need to use the desktop calendar, stick with Mavericks and wait for Apple to send a patch specific to the calendar problems. Once they get the Calendar bugs worked out, I think it will be a pretty good OS X, although it still freezes more than Lion did (Mavericks had problems for me but not the Calendar).

  • How do i get calendar invites to open and update icloud calendar instead of my local outlook account?

I recently started using iCloud for my calendar and have installed the MS Outlook iCloud plug in, but whenever I receive calendar invitations in any of the mail accounts I have configured in Outlook, only my local calendar on my computer is being updated.   How do I set up Outlook to have incoming calendar invitations update my iCloud calendar?   I even tried opening the iCloud website, but all calendar items there also show up as .ics files, which automatically open in MS Outlook on my computer and again update only my local calendar (personal folders).   I also tried setting the default data file in MS Outlook to the iCloud data file, but when I did that, Outlook gives an error message advising against setting the iCloud calendar as the default.   I'm at a total loss and would GREATLY appreciate any advice anyone might be able to provide.    Thanks to all for your time!

    Hi Marknoon,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
In order to resolve this issue where you are unable to use iCloud calendars in Outlook, please follow the steps below, ensuring you follow them in order and testing after each step.
Troubleshooting on Microsoft Windows (Microsoft Outlook)
If you're having trouble with iCloud Calendar on a PC (with Outlook 2007 or later), try each of these steps, testing after each to see if the issue is resolved.
Note: iCloud Control Panel does not support Outlook 2010 Personal Edition. When using iCloud Control Panel 2.0 and later, iCloud Calendar event descriptions in Outlook 2010 do not support text formatting (bold, italics, or underline), HTML, images, or attachments. The contextual menu (right-click) has also been disabled.
Verify that you are using a Windows configuration supported by iCloud.
Make sure that your computer is online. Attempt to view www.apple.com. If you can't connect to the Internet, your iCloud calendars and events will not update in Outlook. Learn about troubleshooting your Internet connection.
Open a secure website to test if ports 80 and 443 are accessible. Outlook requires port 443 access to iCloud to push and fetch updates to and from the iCloud Calendar servers.
Verify that your iCloud member name is entered into the iCloud Control Panel window. Learn about setting up iCloud on Windows.
Close and reopen the iCloud Control Panel.
Make sure that iCloud is not your default account in Outlook:
In Outlook 2013 and 2010, select File > Info > Account Settings > Data Files. If iCloud is listed as the default account in the Comments column, select a different account and click Set as Default.
In Outlook 2007, select File > Data File Management > Data Files. If iCloud is listed as the default account in the Comments column, select a different account and click Set as Default.
If you recently made changes in Outlook and they are not updating on your other devices or vice versa, click the Refresh button in Outlook.
Turn iCloud Calendar off and back on:
    Close Outlook.
    Open the iCloud Control Panel:
In Windows 8.1, go to the Start screen, click the down arrow  in the lower-left corner, then click the iCloud app.
In Windows 8, go to the Start screen, then click the iCloud tile.
In Windows 7, choose Start menu > All Programs > iCloud > iCloud.
Deselect the checkbox next to Mail, Contacts, Calendars & Tasks, and click Apply. Wait a few seconds, then replace the checkmark and click Apply.
Open Outlook and test to see if the issue has been resolved.
Make sure that the iCloud Outlook Add-in is active within Outlook. (Learn more about managing Add-ins with Microsoft Outlook.)
    Outlook 2013 and 2010:
    Open Outlook 2013 or 2010.
    Click the File menu.
Click Options in the left panel of the Outlook window.
Click Add-Ins in the left panel of the Outlook Options window.
Look at the list of add-ins beneath "Active Application Add-Ins" and verify that "iCloud Outlook Add-in" is listed.
    Outlook 2007:
    Open Outlook 2007.
From the Tools menu, choose Trust Center.
Select Add-ins from the left column.
Look at the list of add-ins beneath "Active Application Add-Ins" and verify that "iCloud Outlook Add-in" is listed.
Restart your computer. This may sound simple, but it reinitializes your network and application settings and can frequently resolve issues.
Note: When enabling Mail, Contacts, Calendars & Tasks in the iCloud Control Panel, part of the setup process is to copy your Calendars data from the default Outlook .pst file to iCloud, then remove the Calendars from the .pst file by placing them in the Deleted Items folder in Outlook. The Calendars data is then stored in the iCloud data set within Outlook so that changes can be pushed to and from Outlook by iCloud. Make sure that you're looking for your data within the iCloud folder in Outlook after enabling Calendars in the iCloud Control Panel. The deleted files can be seen by viewing Deleted Items within your Outlook Folder List. This is not iCloud removing your data. iCloud simply copies your data into the iCloud data set and then removes the local Calendars data by placing it in the Deleted Items folder.

  • How do I get iCloud calendars to show up on my Google calendar?

I didn't notice until today, but my iCloud calendars (which I can view fine in my iPhone 4S and iPad 2) won't show up in my Google calendar (which I open from my PC laptop). I've researched and researched, but it seems impossible. Is there a way to view my iCloud calendars in Google?

What TV are you using? How is it connected? Are you on the right input? Have you tried a different cable or port?

  • How do you put an iCloud calendar online so that people can see it like you can a Google calendar?

I manage the calendar solution for the school I work at.  We all, teachers and students, will get iPads about a month from now, and I'm trying to set up calendars for when those show up.  Since every person has different needs, I'm in the process of creating a different calendar for each discrete activity, and the people in charge of the activities will have access to edit the events on those calendars.  Our website has links for students to subscribe to calendars that relate to the events they are involved in, which is good, but I also need all the events to be visible on a calendar so that people outside the school can see what is going on without subscribing to every single calendar.  I tried using Google calendar, but they are pretty rubbish when it comes to syncing with Apple's calendars on iCloud.  While iCloud does a good job of reading calendars hosted on Google, I really need the calendars to be hosted on iCloud so that teachers can share authoring privileges on their iPads.  Initially I couldn't even get Google calendar to read my calendars, and had to use this website to even get my calendars into Google calendar in the first place.  Now that it's connected, the Google calendar won't update the school calendars when I update them, leading to an outdated calendar showing up on the website.  The whole point of putting calendars online is that we have seamless instant communication, and Google's bungling it up.
In short, is there another website I could use to display my calendars from iCloud Calendar in an iframe on the school's website?
You can take a look at the Google calendar embedded on the website here.
The subscriptions to the iCloud calendars can be found here.
    Please help.

Ah, I see what you mean. My apologies for the RTFM response without testing it myself first.
I think iCloud shares calendars using the CalDAV standard. This means that you'll have to open the link using a client that can understand this. I just tested it with Novell GroupWise at work and it worked fine. I suspect it might also work with Outlook. I tried to add the calendar in Google Calendar by clicking under Other Calendars, Add by URL, but that did not work, so Google Calendar may not be a CalDAV client. For more information see
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MobileMe#MobileMe_Mail_Beta
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CalDAV
    http://wiki.davical.org/w/CalDAV_Clients
    http://caldav.calconnect.org/implementations/clients.html
If anyone is aware of a website that allows you to see public CalDAV calendars, please let us know. That would be useful information. I tried briefly looking at http://www.icalshare.com, since that site seems to be somehow related to how Apple shares the public calendars, but I was not able to figure out how to view my public calendar there. I think perhaps you need to create an account there and then it might let you. But even then the views they have of public calendars at that site at static views updated once per day. For a live view of the calendar you'll still need to use a proper CalDAV client, I think. So, once again, are there any CalDAV web clients?

  • Icloud calendar conversion for a family?

For the past 8 or so years I've used a webdav server hosted on my own website for the 6-7 family calendars.  I've just upgraded to 4s's and I have 7 mac's in my house and I am hoping to use Icloud as a calendar server.  Each computer in the house sees all the calendars.
1st Issue: Is it better to each have icloud account for space or should we all use 1 icloud account for simplicity?
2nd Issue: some of my Macs are unupgradable to Lion, either for hardware reasons (2 macs), or because I use multitrack editing on final cut pro and apple screwed up its launch of final cut (hereby named Imovie PLUS).  This mac (a mac pro) is stuck on snow leopard. When I've been playing with ical on Icloud I can't seem to connect to icloud with a snow leapard computer.
These issues seem to be typical of Apple in the past few years, ignore the install base (oh, just upgrade everything to lion and it will run fine!), or design products which ignore family issues (with 7 computers which 5 are linked on a single apple id).  Icloud calendar appears to have no backward compatibility to snow leopard, AND why don't we have instructions for husband and wife and a few kids for how to use these products?

I apologize for semi-hijacking the topic of this thread from "Multiple iCould IDs with single AppleID. Possible?"
Perhaps my reasoning for doing this was flawed, but here it is.  That thread was started back in June when the real details of iCloud were somewhat conjecture.  It is now about 14 pages long.  There are some recent posts to the thread, but for the life of me I can't tease a solution to my question above out of them.  I just may not be reading carefully enough.  If so, I apologize.
What I am looking for is more of a STEP BY STEP guide to setting up iOS 5 and OS 10.7.2 for a family in my situation with my needs.  I think I do represent a fair segment of users.
If the monitors of this forum think my thread should be tack on to the end of the above mentioned forum...by all means do so.
Honestly, If Steve were alive today I think he would not be happy with this situation faced by Apple customers.  Steve always said his guiding mantra for his products was..."It just works."  I honestly believe he meant that.  But, with regard to this iCould business...for normal pedestrian users like myself,  I would have to say, "It just doesn't work."

  • After connecting my MBP to a projector, my display screen looks different...any ideas on how to fix?

I used my MBP today at work to present a PowerPoint presentation using the projector my office has.  I have no idea what the brand of the projector is -- but now the appearance of all of my programs and desktop is different.
The sizing is not what it was set to, and swiping larger or smaller does nothing to fix it.
The font looks different, bolder, messier.
Does anyone know how to fix this?  Or why it changed after being connected to another device?
Help!  This is a trivial question -- but I loved the settings I had -- and the options in the setting menus don't have anything helpful.

I didn't even notice that. I think that fixes it. Thanks.
