ICloud confused question

How do I create a new iCloud account on my iPhone? I have an account on my phone already, but I do not know my password and want to use an e mail account address that I have. (if it makes a difference, I just upgraded to an iPhone 5s from an iPhone 4)

Apple ID & iCloud ID Question
I recently added a second iPhone for my spouse and want to pair that phone to her iPad Mini so she can receive iMessages on both her phone and iPad. In setting up her phone and iPad I kept her Apple ID the same as on my iPhone and iPad2, but I created a new iCloud account for her 2 devices. I also used the iCloud account for both messages and face time. However, her incoming messages are not showing up on her iPad. Unlike my iPhone and iPad where messages show up on both devices. What am. I setting up wrong?

Go to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Create an Apple ID'. You will not need a credit card (that's when opening and account in the iTunes Store).

Question: when I activate my new AUS iphone which option should I choose - new phone or restore from backup? I would like to have all my contacts, email, etc. however wasn't sure that option was appropriate since it is a different/new number and a new phone.

Yes, as new iPhone then restore from backup.

• 2 Devices 1 iCloud Account Question

I have 2 devices connected to the same iCloud account, however on one Device "Notes" is turned off,and the other it is turned on.
The 2 devices have notes on them and they are different notes,my question is what will happen when if I turn on notes on the one that is selected off.
Will it merge the notes from both devices or delete the older ones?

I don't recall 100% to be honest, it's also something I'm unable to test since I no longer have 'on my mac' notes, but...
If you turn iCloud notes off, you aren't prompted to keep them and indeed are told they will be deleted. This suggests to me that they won't be merged and will stay in two separate accounts once iCloud notes has been enabled.
On your Mac you can drag notes between accounts, which isn't possible on an iOS device. I also seem to recall that once you remove your last note from the 'on my mac' account, that account will be removed and can't be reinstated whilst you have other accounts.
So I think they aren't merged, but can't be sure.

• Confusing question re apple id's as it relates to match

i have my old apple id that i've used for years - for app and music purchases, etc. when i got my iphone 4s, i set it up using the apple id associated with my mobileme account... thinking that it would make sense for the migration to icloud. so now i want to use match... i purchased it in itunes using the old id (the one i use for purchasing apps) and when i go to turn match on on my iphone, it's requesting the password of the apple id associated with my icloud service!
forgetting about the $25 i spent for a sec, i'm reluctant to repurchase through itunes using the apple id associated with my icloud service because then all the apps i purchased with the other apple id won't get updated, authorized, etc.
how do i resolve this?
thanks.

I have exactly the same problem here; just wrote to Support about it. Hope there's a resolution to this soon, as I really look forward to using the service. The whole multiple ID thing is very confusing. I'd like to be able to seamlessly link them all.

• I forgot my iCloud security question, also the email address I registed. How can I remove unconfirmed iCloud iD on my Ipad Air (iOS 7)?

When I first set up my grandpa new Ipad Air. I registed an iD-based his name like t•••••••••••@******but in reality such gmail did exsist and I do not know. I was confident that I remember the password so I can change the email later. But now, I forgot all the password, also the security question's answer. So, how can I remove the unconfirmed iCloud account on my device?
<Edited by Host>

Hi Noisyzbeez,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
You would need to know the password to the Apple ID set up on the device to remove it from the iCloud settings. The attached article has information on resetting the password via email or security questions. If you are unable to change the password after attempting these two ways, which it sounds like you are, there is also a link towards the bottom of the article to contact Apple Support.
If you forgot your Apple ID password

• Network home folders: iCloud password question re-appears at every logon

Hello,
Is there any way to enable iMessage and Facetime together with Network home folders. Im using Mavericks server (Directory services enabled) and two Mavericks clients. Every time a user that was using machine A logs on to machine B the iClouds password prompt re-appears and subsequently security questions are sent to iOS devices that a new device was added.
Is there a way to circumvent this? I think I tried once in combination with mobile home folders. However, even if I excluded iMessage/Facetime system files from syncing, questions still re-appeared.
The more iCloud services are tied into the system, the more you would like to use them; even if you are using network home folders.
Regards,
Thomas

I also have this question.

• ICloud Music Question

Hi. I got a question about purchasing music with iCloud with my setup.
1. My iTunes library is on a 2006 32 bit Mac Mini, hooked up to a HDTV and surround sound. I can't run Lion, so I can't connect the mini to the cloud.
2. I have an iPod Touch, MacBook, and iPad that can connect to the cloud
3. I can upload my music up to the cloud using my MacBook
My question is about updating the Mac Mini with new purchases. Can use my iPad to buy music from iTunes(so that it would be up in the cloud), then transfer the music from my iPad to the Mac mini using the cable? Would this work? Thanks.

On the mini, open iTunes store and select "Purchased" at top right under "Quick Limks" and download purchased music.

• ICloud general question

Once you have iCloud set up, should your iTunes purchased music, movies and tv shows show up automatically on your iPad/iPhone? I am not sure exactly what I should be expecting!! I have set up iCloud on my Mac,ipad2 & iPhone but my movies,tv shows and music are not there. Photo's,calander & documents I have no trouble with. After visiting the apple retail store and talking with the customer service representatives it seems they are not actually sure either and so informed me to just download the pre-purchased content onto each device as required, however I thought the idea of iCloud was to seamlessly push all this info onto all other devices connected to the account. Can someone please set me straighte on this, I'm all confused!!!!!!!!

iCloud can push new purchases if you have the feature on. You can check Settings>Store, for Automatic Downloads on or off. From now on, your purchases on any device can push to the others.
As for your previous purchases, you will have to download that content onto each device where you want it. It's probably better this way. Imagine the total amount of GB's of past content suddenly flooding into your memory over the air. Well, iTunes in the cloud lets you choose what content, when you need it on each device instead, and gives an option to push future purchases if you dig that.

• Oracle BI Mind Confusing Questions

Hi,
I am new to Oracle BI. I have been reading documents, tutorials, oracle by example guides and watching some videos.
But I cannot answer some questions which are confusing my mind.
1-) Why we have 3 repository layer? In the tutorials, they are dragging objects from physical layer to business model and mapping layer. In this layer they are renaming table names. Then they are dragging objects from Business Model to Presentation Layer. In this layer they are renaming table names again and they are deleting some columns. I think that we can use just physical layer and presentation layer. In presentation layer we can rename table names and remove some columns.
2-) In physical layer, we are importing objects from data sources. We can import tables, views and foreign keys. What is the best practice for designing business model?
I created a test repository. I imported tables, views and foreign keys from database. But when I try to check consistency ( afte preparing presentation layer), I took error messages about self joins in the physical layer. Can I solve self join problem?
3-) Should I import only tables and views from database in physical layer? I think that if I do not ceate joins manually after import operations, Oracle BI Server may not prepare correct sql statements.
We have a big database (maybe 500 tables), so if I dont import foreign keys, manually creating foreign keys will be a massive manual process. I also do not know which foreign keys are mandatory for a well designed business model?
4-) When database tables changed( for. ex. added new column), are these changes automatically updated to the physical layer?
Thank you..

3-) Should I import only tables and views from database in physical layer? Yes you need to import tables, you can create views on those tables if you want in physcial layer.
I think that if I do not ceate joins manually after import operations, Oracle BI Server may not prepare correct sql >statements.Yes you need to give proper joins between fact and dimension tables in physical and bmm layers.
We have a big database (maybe 500 tables), so if I dont import foreign keys, manually creating foreign keys will be a massive manual process. I also do not know which foreign keys are >mandatory for a well designed business model?Need to do datamodeling(ETL process first).Convert OLTP to OLAP(into facts and dimesnions) so that you will come to know regarding table and join conditions.
In BMM layer we write logics, create our own logical tables with logical columns, hierrarchies. We use only columns that we need in this layer and write logics upon them.

• ICloud backup questions?

Quick question- I see a message that says my phone needs to be locked for iCloud to back up all my stuff? Is that true? or will it back up if I'm using it? I will be going to get a new iPhone very soon so I want to make sure all my data is backed up. Also, approx how long will this take if i only have mail, contacts, photos and music being backed up?

To back up your phone manually:
Connect the device to a power source and make sure that you are also connected to the Internet via Wi-Fi.
Go to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup and tap Back Up Now.
Depending on the speed of your connection, & the amount of data, an initial iCloud backup can take several hours or more.
Automatic backups to iCloud require your phone be connected to a power source, wifi, & the screen locked.

• ICloud password questions

My Mac asks iCloud password since some days every time I open Mac Mail. How can I stop it?
Yesterday the Internet connection (Safari) got stucked, I had to close the MacBook by using the start button.
When I opened iCloud settings without internet connection, the question popped on the screen again.
I took away the Find my Mac setting from the list, and thereafter the internet worked normally.
However, this morning, the Mail asked again iCloud password. I allways ignore it.
I noticed inDaily Mail Online, that there were cases in Australia, where peolple got thei Mac stucked and had to pay ransom.
It was supposed that this was connected to Find My Mac settings in iCloud.

You're looking at three different and unrelated problems:
Mail asking for iCloud password
Safari crashing/not responding
Ransom requests
1. This has been a problem discussed here months ago. Several solutions were offered. The one I used was to delete my Apple account info in Mail and set it up manually. That simply forced Mail to re-write the old, corrupted plist with the correct info.
2. Use the "Force Quit..." item under the 'Apple' menu to see if an app is "Not Responding" or simply busy. If "Not Responding", select (highlight) it and use the "Force Quit" button. Avoid the Power button shut down method as you may end up corrupting other things that may be accessing the hard drives.
3. There is already a huge thread on this topic (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6270410?start=375&tstart=0). So far, there is no reliable evidence that it is related to 'Find My Mac' at all. The ransom requests are all related to mobile devices (iPhones, iPads, etc.).
HTH!

• ICloud Drive questions

Hi all,
I know that this subject has been discussed yet, but I haven't found a definite answer to this question.
I have some Pages documents on iCloud: and since yesterday if I try to access them via iCloud.com interface, a message warns me that my documents are no more accessible until I upgrade my account to iCloud Drive, so I am in some way "forced" to upgrade if I still want to use this feature.
I read somewhere that migrating to iCloud Drive, the documents stored in iCloud are moved to different servers accessible only via iOS 8 devices (or OS X Yosemite): does this also apply to Contacts, Notes and Calendar data?
In other words: will upgrading to iCloud Drive have any affect on my calendars, contacts, etc, that I currently sync with three devices, one of which (iPhone 4) does not support iOS 8?
Thanks in advance.

You have to turn on iCoud Photo Library
On your phone: Settings > iCloud > Photos > turn on iCloud Photo Library
This will upload any photos you take on your phone to the iCloud Photo Library (different than iCloud Drive).
Now when you sign into iCloud.com you will see Photos. From there you can upload photos from your computer.
They will still take up room on your phone but you can optimize it in the Photos section of the iCloud settings (Settings > iCloud > Photos)
