ICloud constantly delete my files

I'm a programmer and i put my project on the iCloud to work on both my desktop and laptop(not at the same time and they are windows machines). This afternoon when i opened the project file on my laptop, i lost half of my files. This is very frustrating because i spent days on those codes. Can anyone help me at least retrieve these files? thanks

Don't sign out if you want documents stored in iCloud to be available on your Mac.
If you haven't uploaded or saved any files to iCloud then it won't remove anything from your Mac. Only files specifically saved to iCloud will have their local copies removed from your Mac. No other local files are touched.
To use iCloud you need to be signed in and stay signed in. Pits not necessary to sign out unless you want to stop using iCloud.

This article contains the only thing that worked for me.  I also had to sign out of iCloud and uninstall it.  Then I had to delete all files and folders from all of those applications that were under Program Files, Program Files x86, Program Data and Users.  My iPhone 4 will now sync with iTunes both in its USB-connected  mini dock and over Wi-Fi.  It's unfortunate (negligent programming on the part of Apple?) that the upgrade to iTunes 11 did not remove all of those files as part of the upgrade process.

I am having the same issue....Same address for years - same as USPS - I tried 5 times (3 macs and 2 iPhones) and now i have 5 CHARGES for 1.00 each on my credit card. I took the credit card info off so they don't charge me anymore. How can they charge me yet still not allow me to download free updates and say I have an invalid address? I'm sure I will spend weeks or months trying to get a credit out of these incompetent idiots.

  • If I delete a file in iCloud, what happens to the local file in ~/Library/Mobile Documents ?

If I delete a file in iCloud, what happens to the local file in ~/Library/Mobile Documents ? Does it get deleted to?
    Hope somebody can help.
    Thx.

I'm pretty certain that it gets deleted as well. If you try and open that mobile documents folder, it takes you to the iCloud drive folder. I've been searching for this same issue for the last 24 hours also as I inadvertently deleted my Keynote files stored on iCloud drive thinking I was just temporarily deleting Keynote from my iPad when upgrading to the latest iOS 8 version. (I needed space and thought, "Oh, I'll just reinstall later... Turns out I was in the iCloud storage area, not in my iPad storage area at the time and therefore deleted all my iCloud stored presentations. From every device.)

  • HT201077 Is there a way to delete files locally, on iPad, after they have been backed up in iCloud, without losing any files?

Is there a way to delete files locally, on iPad, after they have been backed up in iCloud, without losing any files? Because iCloud is seeming like it actually doesn't back up anything.. Just clogs up all storage space on every device with duplicate images/videos. I am looking for a delete when backed up feature. Does that exist?

  • Pages temporarily deleted my files but won't redownload them

From what I've been told by a friend, the iWork apps will temporarily delete the files in them so that you have more space for better functionality. They will then redownload them from the iCloud when you need them. I think my Pages was in the process of redownloading my files when i decided to close it as i had to go on and do other things. Now i have no idea how to get my ipad to continue redownloading the files. I've tried closing and opening it and I've left it for a few days but nothing has happened.
This is a photo of what my screen looks like: (Note this is on my Ipad 3)
Any help is greatly appreciated !

Just some extra information, i do have space in my icloud. 2.8gb to be exact

  • How to delete the files from iPhone before selling?

How do I delete the files from my old iPhone4 before selling?

    Hey adhot,
Before selling your iPhone, you'll want to follow these directions:
Before you sell or give away your iOS device, make sure that you have removed all of your personal information. Follow these steps to protect your data and get your device to its factory default state for the new owner:
    Back up your device.
Go to Settings > General > Reset, then tap Erase All Content and Settings.
This will completely erase your device and turn off iCloud, iMessage, FaceTime, Game Center, and other services.
If you are using iOS 7 and have Find My iPhone turned on, your Apple ID and password will be required. After you provide your password, the device will be erased and removed from your account so that the next owner can activate it.
Contact your carrier for guidance on transferring service to the new owner.
When the device is turned on for the first time by the new owner, Setup Assistant will guide them through the setup process.
Important: Do not manually delete contacts, calendars, reminders, documents, photo streams, or any other iCloud data while signed in to your iCloud account, or the content will also be deleted from the iCloud servers and all of your iCloud devices.

  • How delete podcasts files in ipad.

I am not able to delete downloaded  files from podcasts

If you are used to a Windows computer and now have an iPad, you might be thinking the same thing.  iOS doesn't want you to worry about files on your iPad, so everything is run through the apps themselves.
If you need a bit more control of your files, you might like FileManger Pro, it's 4.99, but it will manage them through Dropbox, iCloud, etc.  Everything is now run throught the cloud usually, which means you might have to pay for Cloud Storage with a Apple device.  Hence cloud storage is popular these days, and also dangerous if you know a little about hacking.
Here are your file management options through another app you download with the App Store,
Best File Management with iPad, iPhone:  http://bit.ly/X2KPHb
Now if you do have a Windows, or a Mac Computer, plug it into your USB on your computer and install iTunes Software.  It will lManage your files through the iTunes Software.  First on iTunes go to your iPad button on the top right, then click on your Menu where it Says Apps, and manually control the Files from there.
Dropbox is a helpful for a lot of this and the File Manger Pro will integrate the file management there, so it's worth the 4.99 for that option too, it also integrates with the iCloud and other Cloud option you may have.
Here is my Blog, I hope to write more posts like this in the future.

  • Deleting specific files

There are some files in finder that I try to send to the trash that require a password. When I type in my administrator password it still doesn't send the file to the TC.

These may be files that are constantly being written to by the operating system.
I would not delete any file that requires authentication, unless you yourself created it. If it is a file you suspect being damaged or unnecessary, ask here first how to delete it.

  • Can I delete the files/folders in 'Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup'?

    Hi!
I have just tried to backup and update my iphone to iOS 5.1. The backup seems to have worked but when it came to restoring the iphone, I think the hard disk ran out of space and so it failed. I saw this and so I freed up around 3Gb of disk space and I tried it again. It again failed. Again I noticed that there was no space left on the hard disk. I assumed that to continue the restore it probably won't need that much more space (as it had already done most of the work) so I freed up a few more Gb.
Again it failed. When it fails, itunes leaves the partially restored elements on my hard disk meaning that my 'Apple Computer' folder is now 28Gb!! I cannot afford to delete anything else from the hard disk. I am using a PC by the way. I have noticed that in the folder 'Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup' has 5 folders in it which is the same amount that I tried to restore the iphone (before the last restore attempt there were 4 folders). These folders amount to 20Gb. From this I am assuming that the actual backup that I made is infact in 'Apple Computer\iTunes\Mobile Backups'.
Can I delete the folders in 'MobileSync\Backup'? This would free up 20Gb of disk space giving me enough to properly restore (in theory!).
    Thanks for your time!!
    Nick

your advice worked for me and saved me what ever evil lurked behind my thought to just delete the backup and get back my very lmited space on my 250GB Mackbook Pro using daisydisk pro https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/daisydisk/id411643860?mt=12
    Why DaisyDisk?
DaisyDisk remains the tool of choice for film makers (including companies like Pixar), digital artists, IT professionals and hundreds of thousands of Mac users worldwide when it comes to disk space management. Constantly improving since its initial introduction, the app easily blows away competition in terms of speed, efficiency and user experience.

Delete iOS backups this way: iTunes>Preferences>Devices...select the backup/backups...hit delete. Do not mess with your backup folder.

Use something such as OmniDiskSweeper (my favorite) or Grand Perspective to find out where large files may be. iCloud isn't going to help much if you've so much data that it won't fit on a 1TB drive. Sounds as if it's time to either buy another drive or at least an external with more space.

  • Is it possible to recover a deleted (unsynced) file from iphone 4s

I have an iPhone 4s 5.1.  I deleted a file yesterday and I would like to recover it from the flash drive.
I know that files can be recovered from flash drives! I have done it before. Unfortunately the software I used before will not recognise the iPhone as a drive of any kind flash, external or hard!
I have not synced the phone either by iCloud or physically to my PC since deleting, so recovery is not possible via iTunes.
I have a PC so I am unable to use 3rd party software such that only works on MACs (disc drill for example)
What I am getting at is, can it be done? I am not sure it can unless it is possible for my PC to see the iPhones flash drive as a PC recognisable (for want of a better word) flash drive!
I have also tired other 3rd party software that CLAIMS it can recover lost/deleted files from an iPhone but guess what…….. Yep, all of them are unable to see the flash drive of my phone.
So, is there a PC owner out there that has successfully recovered a deleted files from an iPhone?

I want to know if you have backed up those files to iCloud before? If you did, you can just connect your iPhone 6 with the computer which have FonePaw iPhone Data Recovery software and scan your iPhone to find out iCloud backups.
iPhone Data Recovery can recover deleted photos, videos, messages, contacts, call history, notes, etc. from iTunes & iCloud. You can restore iPhone from iCloud quickly. Hope you can solve this issue.

  • I just started using iCloud backup ,, so will recent iCloud backup delete previous iCloud backup

Will recent iCloud backup delete the previous backup

iCloud will keep your last 3 backups.  The first time you back up, it does a complete backup (and takes some time to complete).  Your subsequent backups back up changed files since the previous backup, and take much less time to finish.

  • HT201364 Upgrade to Mavericks/deleting picture files

I am wanting to upgrade to Mavericks however I only have a bit over 6G of space available due to the fact that I have a lot of memory tied up in picture files.  I have backed up my files on an external drive, but am fearful that my picture files will be lost if I delete them from iphoto to free up space.  Do I need to export the pictures to the external drive.  I have done that to some of my pictures already.  I'm just not sure how to go about saving them.

When I look in finder under pictures I see the iphoto and photo booth.  If I send THAT to my external drive does it save the whole 24GB of information including the program and all or just the files?  I have Time machine set to back up to a Seagate extrernal drive.  Have I already saved it?  I also have an iMac.  What is the easiest way to move files from my MacBook Air to the iMac?  I was wanting to set up iCloud, however, it says to have Mavericks installed first and that is where my whole problem started.  I do not have enough space on my MacBook Air to install Mavericks.  I thought the easiest way to free up space would be to delete picture files.  But my pictures are linked to Facebook and Flicker.  Last time I deleted pictures from my Mac they also disappeared from Facebook.  How can I prevent that from happening.
I realize that is a totally different subject and I apologize.  I am just trying to wrap my head around how this all works.
