What happens if your icloud contacts are accidently deleted?  How can I retrieve that data?

Everything that was on your classic should also have been in your library, and that backed up to another drive. If you manually managed the device, and it was the only location holding your playlists, and it has become corrupted, there really isn't much hope. See Corrupt iPod classic. There may be a chance to recover media stored on it if is isn't stored elsewhere.

  • How can I login in to icloud and retrieve a note which I have accidentally deleted on my ipad?

I Have accidentally deleted a note from my ipad  and I know it has been backed up yesterday onto icloud but I cant seem to login into icloud to retrieve the note? the icloud.com address just throws up Add Icloud to this device, when I know it is already on it!

You can't use mobile Safari on a device to log into icloud.com.  To get to your data, you must use the associated apps.  For contacts, use the Contacts app.  Only with a computer's browser can you log into icloud.com.

  • ICloud Contacts Back Up Urgently Needed

    Help!
I accidently deleted all of my own crucial information in Contacts (it was my personal contact card). It had everything in there. All of my important stuff.
Is there a way to back-date an older iCloud version? I can't believe I can't find anything like the old MobileMe used to offer and choose an old date and re-load it.
Please someone tell me there is a way to to that. This new Mavericks system is great but it is TOO instant. I quickly logged into iCloud to retrieve what I needed but it had already been updated, within seconds. It's not great. All my devices have already updated. Apple should offer an option as to how we can manage and retrieve...
Thanks in advance to anyone who can get my life back!

No, I had a feeling you would mention Time Machine; I don't use it.
I was expecting an iCloud recovery area somewhere. MobileMe used to have an option to revert to an old back up (there was even a list of dates to choose from). I presume that iCloud doesn't offer a service, or does it? If it doesn't, it should!
So, iCloud just updates on the fly and doesn't let a user revert back to an older back up? Apple expects everyone to invest even more money on their products (HD for Time Machine) when a simple revert to an old back up would work so much better, and less time consuming by having to trudge through Time Machine, too. If that makes sense.
So, does iCloud have a 'revert to an old back up' service?
    Thanks

    I just Installed Office 2013

  • Why doesn't iCloud retain hyperlinks or live URL addresses in iCloud contacts?

Why doesn't iCloud retain hyperlinks or live URL addresses in contacts?
    Hardware/Software Setup Scenario:
PC with Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 7 Pro at home for which all ISP (Cox Communications) e-mail is integrated with Microsoft Outlook 7. New Apple iPhone 4S linked to MS Outlook Contacts, Calendars, Tasks (Reminders) and Notes via iCloud. All e-mail bypasses iCloud (not needed).
    Problem:
When initially migrating Microsoft Office 7 Contacts to Contacts in iCloud, Outlook creates a new folder named "Contacts in iCloud," which does synchronize quickly with your iCloud Contacts folder (in Outlook) on your computer at home and your iPhone when you're on the road. That is a great thing to have, and it works well for my calendar, which constantly changes. The unfortunate predicament is that there are some major problems that occur when you convert your Contacts records to iCloud as follows.
My Contact Notes in Microsoft Office 7, which contain rich formatted text, Microsoft program hyperlinks and live URL addresses (web sites, email addresses, etc.) are all lost because iCloud converts all of it into basic text, rendering the entire Contact Notes box useless. The only way to note a hyperlink is to go back to the web site or email address (if you still have it) and copy the properties in plain text into your notes -- not a reasonable solution.
An additional problem seen when moving Outlook Contacts to Contacts in iCloud is that the Contact Notes in the new "Contacts in iCloud" are systematically affected by sporadically dropped spaces between words requiring a manual or spell check "cleanup" of every contact -- not reasonable for a folder of approximately 1,000 contacts.
I have also found that importing my Outlook Contacts into iCloud empties the Outlook "Contacts" folder. Once you have created your new "Contacts in iCloud" folder, the Outlook contacts are gone for good, unless you want to retrieve them from a backup file. The problem is that Outlook will only allow one of these two Contact folders for use; so you’re faced with choosing between syncing your Outlook Contacts manually between your iPhone on iTunes using the USB cable connected to your computer -- not reasonable for someone on the move; or, transfer your contacts to iCloud live with worthless notes for your contacts.
Can anyone suggest a better work around?

I'm replying to myself here, but just in case someone else has this problem: I uninstalled the Avery Toolbar and iCloud works on by browser once again. I don't know why or how Avery Toolbar makes a difference, but apparently, it does.  If anyone knows how or why, I'd be interested.

  • ICloud contacts deleted on accident

Can I retrieve deleted contacts from iCloud?

I don't think so.. If you still haven't synced your phone with iCloud and still have your contacts on your iPhone though, you could make a .vcf backup file with "my contacts backup" app, email it to yourself, then log into your iCloud account with a browser and import the .vcf file to your iCloud contacts.

  • How can I sync my G2 iPod touch with iCloud Contacts

I have a second generation iPod touch OS 4.2.1.
My iMac runs OS X 10.7.3 and I have an iPad 3rd generation.
My Address Book Contacts and iCal Calendars are in iCloud. I have no On My Mac contacts or calendars.
I can sync my iCloud calendars with the iPod touch by choosing the iCloud calendars identified with my Apple ID in the iTunes calendar sync dialog.
The iTunes sync dialog for the Address Book, however, does not show my iCloud Contacts and only has a choice for syncing all contacts, which I have chosen.
My calendars sync to my iPod touch, but my Address Book does not.

This says that it can't be done.
But I am able to do it for my calendars in iCloud, just not for my contacts in iCloud.
What is the reason for the difference.

  • Data in my iMac address book and iCloud contacts do not match.

The data in my iMac address book and iCloud contacts are different. How can I get my iCloud data to accruately reflect that of my iMac address book? It appears to be an initial synchronization issue. New entries synchronize fine. Appears that initial entries in my Address Book are not showing up in the iCloud Contacts list. Hense, My iPhone coantacts don't match those in my iMac.
Is there a way to clean out my iCloud contacts on reload/re-sychronize it with my iMac Address Book?

Nuts isn't it. This seems to have been an issue snce dAY 1.  iT FROSTS ME THAT THERE IS NO SIMPLE QUICK WAY TO UPDATE OR CORRECT the data in both programs simultaneously.. Thats why i decided to just put everytning into the i cloud address brook, and let the one other sit and rot.
then i got smart and said, why don't I delete the outlookaddress book files. and save on confusion.
result - both addresses books  and their contents became invisible to outlook.!!!!!! and I can find no way to correct this...to go back to the imperfect world that was.
I did get the outlook contact s back from an archive - but any thing from icloud has become inaccessible from outlook.  (fortunately i can get the vcard infformation directly from icloud. but I can't access it from outlook mail.... means no replying, forwarding etc - and a time swallowing nuisance..

  • How can i import contacts from a csv file to "iCloud Contacts"?

How can I import contacts from a csv file to "iCloud Contacts"?

The only way I know of to import cells from a csv file is by creating a new file.  But then you can select the desired cells and copy them to the other file.  I just did it to be sure it works.
    1. Create the new spreadsheet file via the upload command.
    2. Select the cells (table) that you want to move to the other file and press command+C (copy).
    3. Close the new file and open the existing file.
    4. Select the top/right cell of the area to receive the copied "table" and press commant+V (paste).
I hope this is what you're trying to do!

  • How do I stop icloud contacts from overwriting or superseding iphone contact entrees

If i enter a new contact on my Iphone it eventualy gets wiped out (Deleted).  i assume this is because it does not exist on the cloud.  If i enter a new contact in the cloud, it emediatly apears on my Iphone.  Nice!  i like that, but i want to be able to enter new contact info on my Iphon too and have it appear in the cloud contacts.  Is this posible?

If you are trying to restore your contacts from an iCloud backup, you have to follow the steps in this user tip: Recovering deleted iCloud contacts from an iCloud backup.  This involves disabling your internet connection just after your device restarts as it is backing up, then turning off iCloud syncing on your device and keeping a copy of your contacts on it when prompted.  Then you can restore the internet connection, allow you device to re-connect to iCloud and finish restoring.  Then delete any contacts from iCloud.com*, turning contacts syncing on again in Settings>iCloud and choose Merge at the prompt.
    * If the contacts on iCloud.com are not contained in the backup, you can download them as a vCard as explained here before deleting them: iCloud: Export contact information as a vCard.  Then you can import this vCard back to your iCloud account as explained here: iCloud: Import a vCard after you're done merging the restored contacts from your phone as discussed above.

  • How do I categorise (or tag) icloud contacts?

I used to manage all my contacts on MS Outlook, but since acquiring an iPad2 and migrating from mobileme to icloud I would like to have an ability to categorise my contacts. For example, in my "Personal Contacts" folder I could set up categories of "Friend", "Acquaintance", "Supplier", etc. This was easy in MS Outlook and I was hoping to find a Category field in the iCloud contact. This would be similar to tagging contacts and would help me simplify my contact lists (rather than maintaining separate contact folders for each type of contact). I really want to be able to stop using MS Outlook for contacts completely, so is there an easy way to do this in iCloud contacts?

Frustrating isn't it. With everything Apple supposed to be so intuitive, it isn't.
    Manage your contacts in Outlook.
    Create your groups there.
Slip your contacts into the appropriate groups.
Do a wired sync with your computer, preselecting the group you want to sync.
iCloud will sync between the two units. But new ones entered on your phone will have to be assigned to a category in Outllok. They will then follow that categorization back to your phone via iCloud.
Anyone with a better method, please post.

  • IPhone 4S (iOS 7.1) - iCloud Contacts/Calendars dissappearing

    Hey guys,
I was wondering if you guys had this same problem. I searched around Google and in this community, and it seems like you guys also do. I'm going to create a new thread with more details below..
    Basic Info:
    iPhone 4S (Chinse (CN) phone)
    iOS 7.1
I'm an American working in Shanghai, China.
    Issue:
At random times and at least 3 times a month, my contacts and calendar events would dissappear.
    When it disappears, ...
I see only phone numbers in the Phone application and when someone calls me.
My Contacts app only list like 5 out of my 230+ contacts, I dont' know why only these 5 were not affected. This is my iCloud contacts.
My Calendar is empty and no longer shows which Calendar I can hide or show. I had 3 different calendars (iCloud, Personal, and Work calendars)
After about 2 hours (or even longer), the Contacts and Calendars will slowly return as it tries to download from the iCloud server (I can see the loading animation in Calendar and the contacts slowly showing up). Sometimes it doesn't return after 2 hours and I have to manually force it by turning OFF and ON the calendars sync.
    Already tried:
Restarting the phone (soft shutdown and hard shutdown by Home + Power)
Already checked to make sure iCloud, Contacts, and Calendars is ON in Settings
Already tried turning them OFF, wait about 10 minutes, then turn it back on. Sometimes it loads back the data, sometimes it doesn't. Right now, I have my work calendar missing.
This bug happens seem to happen only when I'm on Wi-fi. Didn't see it happen on 3G yet. Not sure, but it seems to happen when I switch from 3G to Wifi automatically when I got home. Need to confirm this.
Tried syncing to iCloud to see if it comes back, 1/3 of the time it would.
    History w/ this bug:
I had this phone since iOS 6.
This bug first appeared in iOS 7, which also happened at least 3 times a month. I reported this directly to Apple Support, but not sure if they read it.
In iOS 7.0.x, this bug stopped reappearing. Seems like they heard us and fixed it. I never had this issue again.
In iOS 7.1, this bug resurfaced and now is haunting me again.
    Other cases?
My iPad 3 iOS 7.1 is from Hong Kong, doesn't have this bug and I use the same Wi-fi connection as my iPhone.
My girlfriend has an iPhone 5 iOS 7.1 (US) and iPad mini 2 (CN), she didn't experience this issue.
My colleagues has Chinese phones just like mine (iPhone 4S w/ iOS 7.0 and iOS 7.1), didn't have the issue.
Searching in Google and this community, it seems people are expering the same issue.
I am doubting that this bug has anything to do with my hardware or my settings. I feel this is a iOS software issue. Please let me know what I can do to help as I've already tried everything I can think of.
    Thanks,
    Bruce

Within Contacts, tap Groups at top left. Make sure all contact groups are checked to show, then tap "Done" at top right.
Within the Calendar app, tap Calendars at the bottom center of the screen. Tap on Show All Calendars.

  • HT4910 My iCloud contact list does not contain all the contacts that are in my phone.  If I delete one from my phone it will delete it instantly from the iCloud contacts.  But how do I get all those other contacts on my phone to the iCould on my Windows c

My iCloud contact list does not contain all the contacts listed in my iPhone 5S.  If I delete a contact from the phone it instantly deletes it from the iCloud on my PC.  But my PC iCloud list is lacking many of the contacts on my phone.

And which account did you enter these contacts in?
    On My Mac
    or
    iCloud?

  • How can i save iCloud contacts on my Mac?

I would like to save a few of my icloud contacts to my computer for off-line access. I do not want to edit or sync them. Is there a way to do this? I used to remember having "On My Mac" as an option on the left side panel. And also there was an "On My Mac" set up as a local account. But I can not find it anymore.
If I export the contacts as an Archive I am unable to open them without the archive replacing all of the contacts and I certainly don't want that to happen.
    Any suggestions anyone?
