ICloud contacts are all gone
Does anybody know how to get your iCloud contacts back after they are gone. They just vanished on me on all devices and on iCloud.com and I did not delete them. I have turned the iCloud switch on and off again and restarted my phone. My contact lists on both iOS devices, Macbook, and iCloud.com just disapeared along with my notes. They only thing I still have is my photo stream and email messages.
Thanks
You might want to give it some time to see if it's just a server glitch that will correct itself. Otherwise, you may be able to restore them from your iCloud backup by following Winston Churchill's user tip here: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4841.

HT204150 My contacts are all gone, how do I get them back?
Somehow all my contacts are totally gone! Am I able to get them back?
If you didn't syncing the with iCloud prior to losing them, they would not be on icloud.com. (You can double-check by going to icloud.com from your computer browser, signing into your account, then clicking Contacts.)
Assuming they aren't on icloud.com, your only option would be to try restoring them from your backup. If you are backing up to your computer using iTunes, you can resotore your backup by connect your phone to your comptuer, opening iTunes, then going to File>Devices>Restore from backup. -
sync'd my 3gs last night. Got ios5 update. Woke up this morning and my contacts were all gone!. Where'd they go? How do I get them back?

I am totally frustrated by the fact that now i have gone to iCloud and after a few synchs, my contacts are all mixed up with the wrong information. For instance, my email and phone number comes up under someone else's name (a thousand contacts). I dont know how to repair this. what a nightmare
An icloud account is designed to be used by just one user. If you have given your ID or set up your account on someone else's device, then their data will be mingled with your or worse.

Went to use my contacts and they are all gone! Changed iCloud accounts on Saturday, performed a backup and then synced my music only on iTunes via a PC. How do I find out if my contacts were really stored on iCloud? If so, how do I get them back?
Log into icloud.com and then click on the Contacts icon. If the list is empty, then it's gone.

I don't know why when i used a new apple ID and new icloud ID all my information is done. My contracts are all gone. This only happen on on phone. When i was changing the other phones it works fine. Nothing is lost. So i dont understand when i was changing the apple ID and icloud Id the information is lost. You know when you go to setting and you click iCloud and i saw that the contracts book was light on. Does that matter? Does that cause i lost my contracts?
I don't think the iPhone is really designed for people to be switching from one Apple ID to another so when you do so you may experience problems. You have two options on the iPhone for where you can be accessing contacts, from iCloud and the iPhone itself. You can also pull contacts off of a SIM card but they are then stored on the iPhone and not accessed from the SIM card.
You could try this;
1. Go to Settings > iCloud
2. Sign in to the Apple ID that you want the Contacts from,
3. Turn "On" the Contacts slider and let it download all of your contacts
4. When it's done downloading, turn the slider back to "Off" and you should get a message like this..."What would you like to do with the previously synced iCloud contacts on your iPhone?"
5. Then select "Keep on My iPhone"
Then after that you can then sign out of that Apple ID and into your other Apple ID and the contacts shouls still be there. -
All my contacts is in my hotmail but i cant sync it to my phone.. And now all my contacts in my phone are all gone.. Pls help
You need to check other places where your contacts may be stored:
- iTunes/iCloud back up
- iCloud if you synced them to it -
My ICloud Contacts are Outdated and bringing me problems ...
Basically my ICloud Contacts are outdated and I´m losing lots of new contacts that I have on my Iphone 5. I´ve recovered my IP5 Contacts several times by means of intializing my phone but ICloud keeps on bringing me the Old Ones. Is there a way to make the IP5 Contacts the appropriate ones on Cloud.
Welcome to the Apple Community.
Double entries are possibly a result of your contacts being listed once as on your mac and again as in iCloud.
I'd start by making a back up of your contacts. If you have a simple duplication (as suggested above) you could select 'all iCloud' in users and groups, make sure nothing is typed in the search, select the first contact, shift select the last contact (to select all) and delete using the keyboard. If you have something more complicated than a simple duplication you may need to manually sort your contacts until you have a required list. Back up by dragging 'all contacts' from users and groups to your desktop.
Now disable contact syncing in the iCloud system preference panel and do the same on any other computer or in settings on any other iOS device, delete all contacts from thes other computers or devices.
Turn on contact syncing in the iCloud system preference panel and opt to merge data, you can now turn on contact syncing on other computers and devices. -

My photo stream is no longer working. Both my icloud settings in my phone under "photos" as well as my pc icloud pictures are all set to "on" and pics are no longer uploading to photostream. What's up?
I experienced this problem recently but was able to solve it by signing out of, then back into Photo Stream on the computer. This will temporarily remove your photos, but once you get signed back in, it will repopulate the photos. Be sure you have updated to the latest version as well.

I force shutdown my MacBook Pro by pressing the shutdown button for a long time and when I reopened my laptop, my files and apps are all gone.
When I reopened my laptop, it said that some files have been deleted or hidden (I don't know if it said hidden, I don't remember). my dock and wallpaper were set back to default.
This isn't my first time force shutting my MacbookPro.
How can I restore/recover back my stuff?
i heard time machine restores your stuff back.
And please don't tell me to go to apple because I have made an appointment with them but I'm still worried.
Please if you know anything about this please tell me anything you know.
Please help me.Given that you sound a nervous wreck and a neophyte in matters Mac, it would be safest that you put the Mac away, go take a chill pill, grab a bite, get some rest. Then take the Mac to its scheduled appointment with Destiny, er, the Apple Genius.
There's a good possibility of data loss and munging around unknowing, following instructions that will probably be hard to grasp will only increase the amount of damage. -
I was using my notes earlier today and now for some reason they are all gone. How does this happen and is there anything I can do to get them back, the new ones also that haven't been synced.
See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

Win 7 task bar has a Fire Fox Icon. Before installing FF 4.0 I could right click on the Icon and it would show short cuts to various sights, which when clicked on would open that sight in FF.
They are all gone now. What happened? Is there a way to get these back?A few hidden preferences to check to make sure that the jump lists are enabled:
# Type '''about:config''' into the location bar and press enter
# Accept the warning message that appears, you will be taken to a list of preferences
# In the filter box type '''browser.taskbar.lists''' this should bring up a few preferences
# To enable all parts of the jump list, make sure the following preferences are set to '''true''', if they are not double-click to them to change their value
## browser.taskbar.lists.enabled
## browser.taskbar.lists.frequent.enabled
## browser.taskbar.lists.recent.enabled
## browser.taskbar.lists.tasks.enabled
