Icloud contacts don't transfer to Tbird

Just just upgraded iMac to Mavericks. Contacts now on iCloud, no longer seem to be on MacOSX address book in T-bird. Contacts do not show up when I start to type in an address. How to bring them over from cloud?

Contacts Don't Transfer All Information When Using Outlook Synching - Zen Mi

Earlier I posted regarding the following problems with Outlook Synching:
. It doesn't transfer any recurring appointments from Outlook.
2. It doesn't transfer your Outlook calendar unless you also choose to transfer your Outlook Contacts.
I now have another issue I just witnessed today....
3. I've now entered roughly 50 contacts into Outlook, and have synched them with my Micro. I find that roughly 5 - 0% of my contacts do not synch over the email address. All other information appears to be transferred to my Micro, except for the email addresses in about 5 - 0% of contacts. I thought perhaps I maxed out the memory in my Micro, but that wasn't the problem. I then thought that perhaps these contacts have too much info, and Micro transfers over only a set data limit per contact... so I removed alot of info from one of them as a test, but it still won't transfer over the email address.
Has anyone else seen that? Creative, any comments on this issue, or status on the first two?

Thanks for the follow-up, Jeremy. In answer to your question, the contacts that don't transfer the email addresses were not previously on the device. I did not update the contact afterwards and add the email, it was already there when I initially created the contact.
As a test, I tried creating a "Test Contact" that appeared similar to the contacts that exhibits this problem, but it transferred the email address just fine. It's just approximately 5 - 0% of my contacts that show this problem.
The contacts I've seen off-hand tend to have most fields filled in including: Full Name, Job Title, Company, Business #, Mobile #, Business Address, E-mail, Display As.
On a side note, when I deleted this test contact from MS Outlook, synched the device, and made sure I selected the checkbox stating "Delete contacts that have been deleted in Outlook".... it never removed the "Test Contact". Is this another bug?

You would't be able to do this with the iPhone.
You can access your iCloud online contacts with a supported address book app on your computer. Export the contacts from there for import into your Gmail online address book.
Or you can login with your iCloud account via webmail access using a browser on your computer. There is an option for selecting all contacts followed by exporting all as a single vCard file on your computer. If Google supports importing vCards, you can import the contacts that way.

If you want to use multiple devices - move to imap, I would even say "exchange", but Google does not support free exchange anymore, since January of that year. So Ironically Icloud or Hotmail would be my choices right now.

You have exported as an Address Book archive file: you need to select all the contacts and choose to export them as a vCard - this is the only format you can import into the iCloud website.

If you log into Icloud.com, are all your contacts correct there? If the answer is Yes, I would then turn contacts OFF on your phone, and then turn them back on. Do not merge, but replace with Icloud content.
This is usually the quickest way to edit a bunch of contacts, through the web interface.

If the Galaxy allows importing from vCards files....
You can export your contacts - go to the Contacts page at icloud.com (use computer's browser), click the top contact to select it then shift-click the bottom one to select all. Click the cogwheel icon at bottom left and choose 'Export vCard'.

I have used Itunes to sync all my contacts on my IPhone 5, IPhone 4 and IPad 2 to the contacts in my Dos PC running Windows 7. All my remote devices have the ICloud set to "Contacts Off". Right now, when I go to Cloud.Com the Contacts list is empty.
Can I set the ICloud "Contacts On" in all the above Mac based devices, so that it populates the ICloud Contacts, so that any changes in Contacts in one of my devises, it makes the same changes to all the rest of the devises? I am concerned that, if I turn on Cloud Contacts on all my devices, it might triplicate all my contacts on the Cloud and all my devicses. Can someone please help?
In a conversation with an ICloud support person, he suggested I always use Itunes to sync my Contacts - I don't understand how this would work and I would think it near impossible to keep eveything synced this way. How does Itunes know which devise has the correct updated information. What happens to deleted contacts in one device, some in another, changed info in the next, etc. Would I have to sync them on every change I made to a device - this sounds un-managemable to me. What happenns if one devse looses its information- does Itunes know not to kill the info in all the other devices. Due to my limited knowledge, I an afraid of the whole syncing process.
Currently I am using the ICloud for all my Scheduling, Notes and Reminders and it works great for updating across all my devices. My wife and I share the same account, so this keeps us from making scheduling commitments that conflict with the other, etc.. ICould works great for this. Now if I can get it to work for updating my Contacts, I would be very happy !

I'd like to transfer all of my contacts from my Microsoft Outlook to my Google account! Somehow, I had linked all my contacts in Outlook to iCloud. Now I can no longer sync my contacts from OUtlook to my Google account and Android phone! This is a mess! Please help!

You can download your contacts as a combo vCard from icloud.com, then import that to Google contacts. From http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4910:

Go to iCloud Contacts at icloud.com/contacts, and sign in using your iCloud Apple ID and password.
Verify you are viewing All Contacts by looking at the top-left of the Contacts address book style interface. You should see All Contacts.
If you are not viewing All Contacts, click the groups ribbon to load the Groups interface.
Then, click All Contacts in the Group interface to load All Contacts.
Click the groups ribbon again to return to the standard Contacts interface.
Click the Action (gear) menu, and select Select All. Every Contact should be highlighted after doing this.
Click the Action (gear) menu, and select Export vCard.
A combo vCard will be created and begin downloading.
Safari on OS X will automatically download the combo vCard to your Downloads folder (~/Downloads).
Other web browsers, and Safari on Windows, will prompt you about where you wish to save the combo vCard. Choose a location, and save the combo vCard.
Note: If you make extensive use of Groups, you should also consider backing up your entire Address Book Database by creating an Address Book Backup (ABBU) file via the OS X Address Book application. You can find instructions for this in the OS X Lion section below. The standard vCard method of backing up, which creates a bulk vCard as described above, will not back up Groups. However, it does allow easy back up and recovery of Contacts. Address Book Archives are more complex, and in some cases, may not properly restore data for iCloud members while connected to the Internet. If you use Groups, you should create both types of backups. If you don't use Groups beyond the default All Contacts group, then vCards are the best method of backup.

Hardware/Software Setup Scenario:
PC with Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 7 Pro at home for which all ISP (Cox Communications) e-mail is integrated with Microsoft Outlook 7. New Apple iPhone 4S linked to MS Outlook Contacts, Calendars, Tasks (Reminders) and Notes via iCloud. All e-mail bypasses iCloud (not needed).
Problem:
When initially migrating Microsoft Office 7 Contacts to Contacts in iCloud, Outlook creates a new folder named "Contacts in iCloud," which does synchronize quickly with your iCloud Contacts folder (in Outlook) on your computer at home and your iPhone when you're on the road. That is a great thing to have, and it works well for my calendar, which constantly changes. The unfortunate predicament is that there are some major problems that occur when you convert your Contacts records to iCloud as follows.
My Contact Notes in Microsoft Office 7, which contain rich formatted text, Microsoft program hyperlinks and live URL addresses (web sites, email addresses, etc.) are all lost because iCloud converts all of it into basic text, rendering the entire Contact Notes box useless. The only way to note a hyperlink is to go back to the web site or email address (if you still have it) and copy the properties in plain text into your notes -- not a reasonable solution.
An additional problem seen when moving Outlook Contacts to Contacts in iCloud is that the Contact Notes in the new "Contacts in iCloud" are systematically affected by sporadically dropped spaces between words requiring a manual or spell check "cleanup" of every contact -- not reasonable for a folder of approximately 1,000 contacts.
I have also found that importing my Outlook Contacts into iCloud empties the Outlook "Contacts" folder. Once you have created your new "Contacts in iCloud" folder, the Outlook contacts are gone for good, unless you want to retrieve them from a backup file. The problem is that Outlook will only allow one of these two Contact folders for use; so you’re faced with choosing between syncing your Outlook Contacts manually between your iPhone on iTunes using the USB cable connected to your computer -- not reasonable for someone on the move; or, transfer your contacts to iCloud live with worthless notes for your contacts.
Can anyone suggest a better work around?

I'm replying to myself here, but just in case someone else has this problem: I uninstalled the Avery Toolbar and iCloud works on by browser once again. I don't know why or how Avery Toolbar makes a difference, but apparently, it does. If anyone knows how or why, I'd be interested.

Notes don't transfer through Cloud

I have turned Notes on, with both my Ipad2 and IPhone 4S. But they don't transfer when I make a change on one device to the other device. Howeve my calander and contacts transfer fine. And Pages and Numbers work fine through IWork. As I believe Notes requires going through Mail, I also set up a new email address ([email protected]) with cloud. This is not my email address I normally use however. Some how I think the email address is not set the same with both devices. I only see the email address when i go into advanced settings in Icloud. Any thoughts what I might try or what I'm doing wrong.

Not sure what worked, but I went through all iCloud & Notes settings and made sure they were identical on both IPad and IPhone. Then the transfers between the devices worked.

I have a second generation iPod touch OS 4.2.1.
My iMac runs OS X 10.7.3 and I have an iPad 3rd generation.
My Address Book Contacts and iCal Calendars are in iCloud. I have no On My Mac contacts or calendars.
I can sync my iCloud calendars with the iPod touch by choosing the iCloud calendars identified with my Apple ID in the iTunes calendar sync dialog.
The iTunes sync dialog for the Address Book, however, does not show my iCloud Contacts and only has a choice for syncing all contacts, which I have chosen.
My calendars sync to my iPod touch, but my Address Book does not.

This says that it can't be done.
But I am able to do it for my calendars in iCloud, just not for my contacts in iCloud.
What is the reason for the difference.

New entries synchronize fine. Appears that initial entries in my Address Book are not showing up in the iCloud Contacts list. Hense, My iPhone coantacts don't match those in my iMac.

Nuts isn't it. This seems to have been an issue snce dAY 1. iT FROSTS ME THAT THERE IS NO SIMPLE QUICK WAY TO UPDATE OR CORRECT the data in both programs simultaneously.. Thats why i decided to just put everytning into the i cloud address brook, and let the one other sit and rot.
then i got smart and said, why don't I delete the outlookaddress book files. and save on confusion.
result - both addresses books and their contents became invisible to outlook.!!!!!! and I can find no way to correct this...to go back to the imperfect world that was.
I did get the outlook contact s back from an archive - but any thing from icloud has become inaccessible from outlook. (fortunately i can get the vcard infformation directly from icloud. but I can't access it from outlook mail.... means no replying, forwarding etc - and a time swallowing nuisance..

If i enter a new contact on my Iphone it eventualy gets wiped out (Deleted). i assume this is because it does not exist on the cloud. If i enter a new contact in the cloud, it emediatly apears on my Iphone. Nice! i like that, but i want to be able to enter new contact info on my Iphon too and have it appear in the cloud contacts. If you are trying to restore your contacts from an iCloud backup, you have to follow the steps in this user tip: Recovering deleted iCloud contacts from an iCloud backup. This involves disabling your internet connection just after your device restarts as it is backing up, then turning off iCloud syncing on your device and keeping a copy of your contacts on it when prompted. Then you can restore the internet connection, allow you device to re-connect to iCloud and finish restoring. Then delete any contacts from iCloud.com*, turning contacts syncing on again in Settings>iCloud and choose Merge at the prompt.
* If the contacts on iCloud.com are not contained in the backup, you can download them as a vCard as explained here before deleting them: iCloud: Export contact information as a vCard. Then you can import this vCard back to your iCloud account as explained here: iCloud: Import a vCard after you're done merging the restored contacts from your phone as discussed above.
