ICloud Contacts - not on MAC

I'm at my wits end with new MAC.  My contacts from iphone 4S finally appeared on ipad BUT will not appear on MAC.  I don't understand what is not working right.  I DO have 2 Apple ID's.  Can this be a problem?
Any help is appreciated.

Quite possibly.
Please try the following…
First check that all your settings are correct, that contact syncing is checked on all devices and you are using the same Apple ID (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the contacts you are adding are added to your 'iCloud' group and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud group (you can do this by checking in groups), non iCloud contacts will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your contacts are in the iCloud group, you might try unchecking contact syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling contact syncing.

  • Having problem with iCloud contact on my mac

I'm having problem with my iCloud contact on my mac. My iCloud contact doesn't appear on my Mac.
I already backup my iPhone contacts to my iCloud account today and I also already follow any instruction on iCloud Apple Support. But my problem still exist.
For the information, i'm using the 10.9 OSX and 7.0.2 IOS. I believe there's no problem with my browser. I already try with Safari, Firefox and Chrome.
    Thanks for your kindly attention.

It's very funny, guys. Right after I post this question, my iCloud contacts succesfully appear on my Mac. LOL.

  • ICloud contacts not syncing with my Mac address book

When I log into iCloud and enter a new contact or edit a contact, the new contact info does not get transferred to my Mac Contacts, and I have the iCloud account enabled in Contact prreferences.
My wife and I have found similar problems with the Calendar.
Is there something that I am doing incorrectly or is this just a reliability problem with using iCloud?
Note: I have been using gmail/Google to manage my mail, contacts, and calendar, and don't have a problem keeping this properly synced with my MBA and iOS devices.
I am asking the question above, since I thought it would be nice to consolidate contacts and calendar events to one platform, but it needs to be a reliable platform.

  • HT204150 adressbook empty on mac - icloud contacts not showned

My icloud contacts are not showed in addressbook, although all settings are right
Opening my adressbook on mac I see a fully empty program, not one contact is showed. Even after several times deletign and adding icloud in here.
    Preferences mail, contacts settings
Icloud selected and adressbook icon as well as email are checked. But clicking on manage icloud: the adressbook icon is not showed in manage screen (email is)
Please help how I can get my contacts back on my mac as well

Do this test.  Using a browser, log into icloud.com and then go tothe contacts page.  If it's empty, then there are no contacts that can sync down to mac and devices.  If there are none on the mac now, then somehow you made an error setting things up.  The only thing left is to go into the mac's contacts app and then Enter Time machine (from the TM icon on the main menu/toolbar).  From there you should be able to go back in time and restore old contacts.

  • How can i save iCloud contacts on my Mac?

I would like to save a few of my icloud contacts to my computer for off-line access. I do not want to edit or sync them. Is there a way to do this? I used to remember having "On My Mac" as an option on the left side panel. And also there was an "On My Mac" set up as a local account. But I can not find it anymore.
If I export the contacts as an Archive I am unable to open them without the archive replacing all of the contacts and I certainly don't want that to happen.
    Any suggestions anyone?

  • HT204150 iCloud Contacts Not Syncing

    Product - iPhone 6 128GB Space Grey
    iOS - Latest 8.1.3
My contacts have stopped syncing with my iCloud account. I have done all the usual suggested steps (restored, new setup, computer back up, etc...) and then was provided a replacement phone. The issue persists.
    1. I've got three accounts setup across three Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, MacBook Pro 2013), when I update a contact from the MacBook and check iCloud's web interface it fails to update.
    2. My iPhone contacts do not update to iCloud.
    3. My iPad contacts do not update to iCloud.
We've got an engineering request in - but this is incredibly frustrating. All accounts are set to the iCloud account for the contacts default account. iMessage and Hand-off are working fine.
    Anyone?

  • Get iCloud contacts on my mac

Ok im sure there must be a simple solution here. I am trying to sync everything on icloud with outlook mac, contacts/cal/notes etc, but I believe outlook will only sync with what is on my mac. Everything is in icloud and in my mac address book, i have nothing 'on my mac' its all in 'icloud'. Can someone please tell me how I sync with 'icloud' and 'on my mac'?

Calendars can be listed either under 'On My Mac' - these, as you might expect, are stored on your Mac and cannot be synced with iCloud - or under 'iCloud', meaning that they live on the iCloud server and are read from there by your Mac and other devices (it's not really syncing as such, though people use that term as a matter of course).
Outlook can only sync with 'On My Mac' calendars, so you can't sync any one calendar with both it and iCloud.

  • How to sync Calendar, Contacts, Notes between Mac, iPad & iPod?

    Hi there,
I have a MacBook Pro using Mac OS X 10.6.8、an iPad using iOS 7 & an iPod Touch that uses iOS 6.  And everyday I use iCal、Address Book、iWork (includes Pages、Numbers、Keynote) in Mac computer, use iWork also on iPad as well as use Calendar、Contacts、Notes both on iPad & iPod Touch.
I have trouble keeping all my files on my Mac computer、iPad & iPod Touch up to date and hate updating each of them manually.  Hence I have two questions:
    1)  how may I sync the files of the applications mentioned above between my Mac computer、iPad & iPod Touch without using iCloud?  (perhaps through iTunes or my e-mail account?)
    2)  if I must sync the files through iCloud, how may start my iCloud service for free?
                  Thank you millions!

Automatic does not work for me on this particular task. . My primary computer is an iMac. On travel I use a MacbookPro. I want the MacbookPro to have the same Contacts list as the iMac. I am logged into iCloud on both computers. The MacbookPro needs to be syced. On it I logged out of icloud, and in doing so I chose to delete files from the computer. Then I logged in again to icloud. That put a lot of additional lists of groups into the Contacts, lists that are not on the iMac. But some individual pages are not updated to match the iMac.
I tried to manually copy (and overwrite) the various files on the MacbookPro that seemed to deal with the Contacts, including
    my Library/Applicatiion Support/AddressBook
    my Library/Preferences/com.apple.AddressBook.plist
They are still not the same.
On my Macbook I unchecked the Contacts, which deleted them and checked them again. This now deleted all of my groups and the individual ones are not synced with the iMac.
So now I have had three different versions of Contacts on the Macbook, as I manipulated turning on and off iCloud, and not one of them has been the same as on iMac.
How do I get the Macbook contacts to be the same as on iMac?

  • Notes on iPhone and iCloud, but not on Mac's Notes

I have notes that I've created on my iPhone and they've all been created under one account, my iCloud account. I can see all the notes when I go to iCloud.com but I can't access them when I open the Notes application on my Mac. I only see a select few of the notes from iPhone/iCloud.com on the Notes application on my Mac. How can I go about getting access to the rest of the notes from my Mac? And yes, I have iCloud set up on my Mac so I don't understand why this problem is occurring or how to fix it.

Go to System Preferences>iCloud, uncheck Notes, choose Delete from Mac (they will still be in iCloud), restart your Mac then go back to System Preferences and check Notes again.

  • ICloud contact not syncing

Why don't my iCloud contacts sync to my Mac? only some are showing the names and others just show the number? my iphone 5s does have this problem. I have already signed out and back in on my Mac nothing....... i have restarted my mac as well and nothing ??? help!....

    Bonjour,

  • When I set up Contacts on iCloud, Contacts on my Mac consumes about 100% of a CPU, per Activity Monitor. Does that make sense?

I don't think this should be happening, but I haven't been able to find any reference to such a situation in Apple Support or on Forums.

I'm trying to do this. I unchecked Contacts, restarted my Mac and lo and behold, Contacts was rechecked! I unchecked it and checked Activity Monitor. By the time I returned to System Preferences, Contacts was rechecked. This happened 3 times. Now it has remained rechecked, AddressBookSourceSync is consuming over 90% of a CPU (mostly over 95%). I'm letting it go for about half an hour. I'm debating whether to let it go and see if it settles down (no evidence that it will). CPU time is over 30 minutes now. I think I'm going to quit (or Force Quit) AddressBookSourceSync, follow the suggested steps and see what happens.

  • My contacts are in iCloud, but not on Mac

I made a visit to the Apple store yesterday, primarily for a battery replacement on my Macbook Pro. In passing I also mentioned to the 'Genius' that upon opening Garageband since my upgrade to Mountain Lion, I am unable to create files, or access existing ones. He suggested a new battery and an upgrade to iLife '11 which the people in the back would install.
After getting my Macbook Pro back, the battery issue was resolved, however after a quick check I pointed out that the garageband issue was not resolved.
Someone came out and said that it looked like there was a corruption on my user account, all I would need to do would be create a new user and I would be able to use garageband etc. I have since done this at home, and it works. However, this is where the problem is, as my original user contains a vast amount of data - all emails and files etc.  I still feel I need to use it... this is where you guys' help comes in!
So on writing an email today, I realised that no contacts were present in my original user. The Contacts application opens, but it is entirely blank, they do however exist in iCloud, and also in the new user. I just wondered how i might get them back. iCloud is 'on' for syncing...
Clearly there is some serious shizzle going on with my user account, I'm just not sure how I can rectify it all and still have all my data to hand...
Cheers all in advance for advice...

Back up all data. Don't continue unless you're sure you can restore from a backup, even if you're unable to log in.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
    Step 1
If you have more than one user account, and the one in question is not an administrator account, then temporarily promote it to administrator status in the Users & Groups preference pane. To do that, unlock the preference pane using the credentials of an administrator, check the box marked Allow user to administer this computer, then reboot. You can demote the problem account back to standard status when this step has been completed.
Triple-click the following line to select it. Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    { sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR.. ; sudo chown -R $UID:staff ~ $_ ; sudo chmod -R u+rwX ~ $_ ; chmod -R -N ~ $_ ; } 2> /dev/null
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command will take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2 (optional)
Step 1 should give you usable permissions in your home folder. This step will restore special attributes set by OS X on some user folders to protect them from unintended deletion or renaming. You can skip this step if you don't consider that protection to be necessary, and if everything is working as expected after step 1.
Boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at startup. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
    Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open.
In the Terminal window, type this:
    res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not  going to reset a password.
Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
    Select
     ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.
