ICloud contacts not syncing with my Mac address book
When I log into iCloud and enter a new contact or edit a contact, the new contact info does not get transferred to my Mac Contacts, and I have the iCloud account enabled in Contact prreferences.
My wife and I have found similar problems with the Calendar.
Is there something that I am doing incorrectly or is this just a reliability problem with using iCloud?
Note: I have been using gmail/Google to manage my mail, contacts, and calendar, and don't have a problem keeping this properly synced with my MBA and iOS devices.
I am asking the question above, since I thought it would be nice to consolidate contacts and calendar events to one platform, but it needs to be a reliable platform.
OSX 10.8.2
MBA, mid-2011
For photo stream, if the source of the photos is an iOS device, be sure the photo app used to take the picture has been turned off, not just sleeping.
Have you rebooted the computer? The router?

Why are some iCloud services not syncing with my Mac?
iCloud seems to be syncing just fine between my iPhone 4S (AT&T 4G) (iOS 5.1.1) and my iPad 2 (Wi-Fi + 3G) (iOS 5.1.1), but not with my MacBook Air (Late 2010) (Mountian Lion 10.8.1). Here's a list of iCould services that I've noticed are and are not working:
iCloud mail (@me.com) and Gmail syncs and updates on my computer sometimes. (I get that these might be seperate issues. I think I need to change the "port" on one or both – suggestions?).
Exchange email syncs and updates on my computer most of the time.
Notes syncs and updates on my computer never.
Photo Stream has stopped updating and syncing on my computer altogether (worked for the first few weeks and not for the past few weeks).
iMessage synced with my computer and phone before Mountian Lion released (that is, all incomming iMessages sent to my Apple ID would be recieved at my phone and computer), but I don't think it's worked since.
iCal, Contacts, and Reminders seem to update and sync on my computer all of the time.
Because they're all iCloud services I want to think there is a one common problem – which is why I've created only one thread. But because they are not common to all services, I'm guessing it might be a case by case basis.
Of course I should state all iCloud services are turned on for all devices and computer, and I am using the same Apple ID for them all. Also, all devices/computer are connected to internet via Wi-Fi/4G pretty much all the time. Finally, it's possible there are other issues I've missed—although it seems unlikely since I use them all, all the time)—I think this is a pretty good representation of my problems.
Thanks for your help!!

Video ipod not syncing with ical and address book
In iTunes preferences, under the tab for both calendar and contacts, when I attempt to check the "synchronize Address Book contacts", I get a window that says: No Contacts Available contact syncing cannot be enabled because there are no contacts available. Do you want to open Address Book and create contacts now? If I choose open address book, it opens my address book which has 564 contacts in it. The same thing is happening with ical.
Weel, I finally discovered what the problem was. It seems to have occurred a mistake while syncing two computers with .mac. Apparently, instead of reinitializing all informations from one of them, they were simply erased and, while on one of the computers my calendars did appear (the one I was syncing the iPod, too), they were a sort of 'ghost' images. So I had to reinitialize again, and then tried to sync the iPod. Now the calendars are displayed correctly on both, and the sync preferences on iTunes are correct, too. Hope this can help somebody.

Iphone:icloud will not sync with my new macbook
I just recently got a MacBook pro and I have had an iPhone for about 2 months and all my contacts from my phone will not sync with my Mac. I have no clue what to do and I have tried everything hooking it up to the computer...turning the contacts thing on and off...and even registering the icloud again off of my phone.
Please Help!Close iTunes. On your phone, double tap the Home button to bring up the multi-tasking bar, tap & hold any app until they all start to wiggle & a red minus sign appears. Tap the red minus sign to remove every app shown. Tap Home button when finished. Re-start your Mac, launch iTunes, connect your phone. See if things work now.

ICal on my iPhone does not sync with my Mac or iPad. I am using the cloud.
My iCal calendar on my iPhone does not sync with my Mac or iPad. I am on the cloud and every
thing else is syncing. I've looked at preferences and everything looks right...Welcome to the Apple Community.
First check that all your settings are correct, that calendar syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the calendars you are using are in your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by clicking/tapping the calendar button in the top left corner of the application ), non iCloud calendars will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your calendars are in the iCloud account, you might try unchecking calendar syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling calendar syncing settings. -

Are you running modified software on your phone? This error seems to be common if the firmware has been modified and you're trying to restore the phone again.
